RATING: M

SUMMARY:

Kensi for the past few nights has been dreaming of...Marty Deeks. She had been waking up and having trouble going back to sleep...Everyone is beginning to notice!

CHAPTER 17: MARTY DEEKS IS...

KENSI'S P.O.V.

THE NEXT MORNING...

DEEKS HOSPITAL ROOM...

Last night Callen and Sam had found me in the Chapel. They told me Marty had made it through the surgery but because of some complication...he was in a coma.

I am now standing in the doorway looking at the man in the bed and he looks nothing like...

My work partner...

My best friend and lover...

Taking a deep breath I stepped into the room and took the seat in the chair beside his bed. I took his hand in mine and gave it a squeeze because I wanted him to know I was here.

"Come on Marty. You have to wake up our kids need you...and I need you. I can't lose you now. I need you watching my back in the field and I need you to help me raise our kids when they get here. I love you Marty Deeks. I need my partner and I know that you know what that means, Marty. A couple of months ago it took the dreams I was having and waking up from that coma to admit our 'thing'. You can't leave me now...partner. So wake up." I said with my hand in his as the tears rolled down my face.

Then for a long time I just sat there watching him and I knew that I would not be able to leave his side for long while he was here.

There was no movement and the only sounds of the room were the machines saying Marty was still alive.

It's kind of ironic:

How at one time Marty had been shot and I stayed with him instead of helping in the investigation. Then a few months ago I was in a coma and he only left my side if he had to...now he is in another coma and it's like de'ja' vu.

I felt the twins kicking again and I knew that Marty had to make it. I couldn't raise these two kids by myself.

The tears continued to fall but I no longer tried to hold them back.

"Wake up Marty. This isn't some stupid joke because our family needs you. I don't know what I would do if you don't come back. So you have to come back." I told him.

"Kensi..." Callen said from behind me and I felt his hand on my shoulder. "What?" I asked not taking my eyes off Marty. "You need to take a break and get something to eat." Callen told me.

"I can't..." I began. "You have to take care of yourself. I'll stay here with him and you come back later. Go home and get some rest...eat something." Callen suggested again and I knew he was right, but that did not make leaving Marty here any easier.

"All right," I agreed at last, then giving Marty a kiss on the cheek and stopping in the doorway to glance at him one last time...

I left.
