Hobbit retelling, Kili/OC. A normal Scottish girl is thrown headfirst into the world of the Hobbit and runs into Gandalf. She has seen the movie, but she read the book a long time ago and so doesn't remember everything. M for violence, language, and just-in-case, maybe-I-dunno-yet potential.

NOTE FOR ALL FOLLOWERS:

I am moving permanently to AO3, Archive of Our Own. All one-shots will be transferred, and all in-progress fics will be transferred - with the exception of ANYTHING related to "Stranger Things Have Happened." All of those will be remaining here, and I will try to find time to upload remaining chapters of "Prologue to Stranger Things" and add my little, couple-chapter fic about Kili and Freya's wedding.

Other than that, all one-shots are moving, and my in-progress fics will be moved and RESTARTED, possibly with lots of different details. Anything new of mine can be found at Ink_Dancer on Archive of Our Own.

Just gonna add this, just for this fic:

To the guest who called themselves "The Kid" - next time you flame my stuff, please do it so I can fuckin' respond without having to call you out like this. I'd prefer to do this over PM, but I really want to defend myself, and I'm not just gonna sit and have you write at my stuff without being able to reply. I understand your complaints, even appreciate your criticism, despise your sarcasm, and deplore your inability to let me defend myself in any way. I write fanfiction not for anybody else's gain but mine. I'm allowed to stick to typical character traits and plot devices if I wish, I'm allowed to make my OC be generally mine. I'm not gonna apologize or change this fic just because of your inability to recognize that female characters be anything. Writers shouldn't just stick to women who can fight, or women who need a man, or women who are hopeless at fighting all the time. But just because writers should make some variety, doesn't mean that you can't have some who adhere to the old styles.

Also - it's worth noting that I basically write fanfiction for practice for when I write my own stuff, stuff where I've got all kinds of characters that not even you, big fella, could flame on.

Thank you for being the first real criticism I've noticed.
