Chapter 28:
A Game of Keep Away

"I grow tired of this."
The Koopa King set a fire ball right at the jester. Dimentio simply move out of the way. He then sends an energy sphere at the koopa which hit its mark. Bowser was sent back, flying into Midbus and knocking them both into a wall. Bowser groaned as he sat up. Before he could get back on his feet, a box appeared around him and Midbus, trapping them both.
"Freaky jester; let me out and face me like a Koopa."
Bowser started banging on the magic box but even with his strength, he couldn't break free.
"That should hold you for a bit." Dimentio
He turns his attention back to the Construction Triangle and saw Mario grabbing the Reality Glass with the blanket still around it.
"What do you think you're going?"
Mario, realizing he has been spotted, turn to face the jester. "What you think? I'm stopping you."
"And how exactly do you plan to do that?"
"The same way you'll do; by playing keep away…Peach, catch!"
He tosses the mirror to his left where Peach was standing. The Mushroom Princess caught it in both hands and started running away. Dimentio growled and chase after her. Knowing she couldn't outrun the jester, she passes the mirror to someone else.
"Daisy, here!"
At the last second, she passes the mirror to Daisy who ran in the opposite direction. Dimentio quickly change course and started chasing her. Catching the magician on her tail, Daisy quickly passes the mirror on.
"Hey Beany, catch!"
"Fawful is not Beany, Fawful is Beanish."
Dimentio pause and stood in front of his ex-partner. He smiled, "Fawful…"
Fawful glared. "Jester…"
"Fawful…I would like to apologize. I was being selfish and it was wrong of me."
Fawful frowned. "What is jester saying?"
"I'm saying…let's be partners again. This universe, it's big enough for two rulers."
Fawful smiled. "That is very nice of jester. And Fawful has accepts apology."
Dimentio's smile grew. "So, to celebrate our new reunion, how about you give me the Reality Glass"
"Fawful will love to give jester glass of reality…if he didn't already give it to ghostly doggy."
"What…?"
Dimentio turned around to Spettro running across the room with Reality Glass in his mouth.
"Jester trick Fawful, so Fawful trick jester…finkrat."
Dimentio glared at the bean before going after the Pulterpup. Spettro ran towards Cybele and offers the mirror to her.
"Enough games, hand it over."
Cybele took the mirror and look up to the jester. "I'm sorry; I thought you enjoy playing games."
"Only when it is I who set it up; now hand it over"
"Hey, clown face, ever heard of respects your elders." Daisy
"My patience is wearing thin; I have no time for respects."
"In that case…here."
Cybele hands the blanket that the Reality Glass was wrapped in to Dimentio who almost took it gratefully. Once he had it in his hands, he flew in the air of the reach of the heroes. Mario and friends gathered together as they watch Dimentio un-wrapped the blanket.
"Now that our little…game is over, I can now get back to…business?"
It turns out the blanket was empty. Dimentio search the entire blanket but the Reality Glass is nowhere in sight.
"Where is it?" he demanded, glaring at the heroes.
He glared at the heroes; however, it did not faze them. Instead, they stood in a fighting stance.
"New game, Dimentio; it's called hide and seek and you're it." Mario
Dimentio growled and summoned an energy sphere. Cybele quickly reacted and summoned a bubble shield to protect them from the attack.
"I am in no mood for your games. Tell me where the Reality Glass is."
"Make us!" Daisy
Dimentio sneered. He would have fought the heroes to get the information he needed if he haven't notice one thing…
The green one was missing.

Running up the stairs that lead to the room where the Construction Triangle was, Luigi pants heavily has he heads outside of the Ruins. Once he made it outside the door, he paused and took some deep breaths.
The plan was the others will keep Dimentio busy while he sneak away with the Reality Glass and place somewhere where Dimentio could never find it.
Once his breathing had slow down slightly, he started looking for an ideal hiding spot. The sound of the waves hit his ears, providing him with an idea. If he could just throw out into sea, then no one – not even Dimentio – will be able to find it.
He reached under his hat and pull out the Reality Glass hidden inside. The moon's light bounces off its glass and produce a slight shine. It was hard to imagine that such a small mirror can have great power.
"Beautiful is it not?"
Luigi jumped and quickly turn around. He soon found himself standing face to face with Dimentio himself.
"Thought you can sneak away from, uh little plumber. Too bad I'm smarter than you think."
Luigi backed away from the jester as he slowly advances him.
"You know the best part about recreate a new Chaos Heart?" Dimentio asked.
Luigi didn't answer. He quickly turned and ran. He didn't get far though. Dimentio simply teleported and reappeared in front of him.
"The best part of all…" he continued "…is that I won't need a host to control it."
Luigi took a left turn but his escape path was block by Dimentio's clone. "You know what that means right?" The clone spoke.
Luigi tried to escaped from his right but that too was blocked by another clone. "It means I won't be needing you anymore…In fact, you're completely useless to me."
Luigi swallowed as the three Dimentios laugh. He looks around for an escape route but Dimentio and his clones were preventing him from going anywhere.
"It looks like I win, green man."
Luigi stepped away from them as they came close to him. Without warning, he stumbled over a fallen pillar and fell backwards.
"NO!"
Luigi heard Dimentio scream. But before he could wonder why, he heard the all to knowing sound of glass hitting the ground.
Crash!
Luigi sat up and look over to where the Reality Glass had landed. It was broken, shattered into five pieces upon impact. The magical artifact that was over a thousand years… was now useless due to a simple fall.
Slowly, Luigi turn back to Dimentio and smile weakly as he ushered the only thing he could say in a situation like this.
"...Opps."
