Quick Author's Note: This chapter took me a while to write. I'm not really good with fight scenes so if it seem shitty to anyone, I apologized in advance.

Chapter 30:
Final Battle

"If I am ever to take my place as ruler, I must first rid of you pesky heroes."
Mario stepped forward and threw a fireball at him. Dimentio dodge it easily as it flew pass him and hit the ceiling. Bowser was the next one to attack, throwing a bigger fireball than Mario's. Dimentio dodged that too and send an attack of his own. The attack made its mark as it sends them both flying back.
Dimentio started approaching them but was hit from behind by a small beam. He stumbled back before turning around to Fawful in the air with his Vacuum helmet fully repaired.
"That's odd; I thought that thing was destroyed."
He was then shot down from the air by an energy sphere delivered by Cybele.
"It was…until I fix it."
Dimentio sneered and teleported off the ground before Midbus could hit him with a body slam. He reappeared in the air and shot several energy spheres at them both, knocking them out temporary.
"Feel the wrath of Fawful's fury, jester!"
Fawful send multiple missiles at Dimentio, but the jester simply teleported out of the way. He reappears and surrounded the beanish villain with clones. Fawful was confused; he couldn't tell which one was the real thing. Using this distraction, Dimentio send three energy spheres right at him, causing three times the damage.
Among the smoke, Fawful fell to the ground unconscious with his Vacuum Helmet destroyed once more. Dimentio hover his down victims before dodging a large fireball thrown right at him. He looks down to the ground to see Bowser glaring at him.
"Forgot about me, clown face?"
"Actually, I didn't."
Dimentio snapped his finger and a magic field appeared around Bowser. He snapped his finger again and several explosions erupted within the field.
"Bowser!" Mario
The Koopa King flew to the ground. The blast wasn't enough to kill him but it was enough to knock him unconscious. Mario grunt and pull out a fire flower. He crushed the flower in his hand and his clothes turned red and white.
He was now Fire Mario.
With his increase fire power, he shot several fireballs at the jester. Dimentio dodged the first few until he was hit by one unexpectedly. He shook his head and soon disappeared. Mario gasped and grew tensed. Away from his line of vision, Dimentio created an energy sphere and toss it at him.
"Mario, look out!"
Mario turned around just as the sphere hit him. The red hero was sent flying. He hit a pillar which caused his power-up to disappear. He slide down to the floor as his body went limp.
"Mario!"
Luigi, Peach, and Daisy ran to the red hero's side. When they got there, they find him to be unconscious. As they try to wake him up, Spettro started growling. They look up to see Dimentio approaching them.
"Now, to finally put an end to the man in red"
They tense. Luigi shook out of fear and glance at his fallen brother. Swallowing down some fear, he step up and stand protectively in front of everyone.
"Luigi, don't…you're still recovering." Daisy pleaded.
"Yes, Luigi please," said Dimentio. "You are no match for me, even with that ghost mutt by your side."
Luigi stand against the evil jester in fright, not so sure what to do. Some falling debris got his attention. His eyes wonder just above the jester where the ruin's stone ceiling was cracking with sea water leaking out.
An idea came to mind. He focused on the magician, looking more determined than ever. Dimentio notice his sudden boost of courage and raised a curious eyebrow.
"Feeling confident now, uhm? Very well then; I'll deal with you first."
Dimentio shot three energy spheres, all of which were dodged by Luigi. The green Mario brother used his Thunderhand and shot a lightning ball at him. For a while, the battle went on like so. Each one dodging the others attacks while countering with his own. As the two battles, Peach and Daisy tried to wake Mario up.
"Mario, please wake up." Peach
"Come on, Mario. Luigi needs you; you have to get up." Daisy
As much as they pleaded, all they got was a low moan. They both shared a worried look before turning back to fight. The battle had quickly turned one sided – Dimentio's attack were getting fast…or maybe Luigi was getting slower.
"Oi, I'm getting too old for this kind of strenuous activity."
Peach and Daisy look up to see the sorceress walking towards them. "Cybele, are you alright?"
"I am fine, but I don't think I can take part in another fight. However," She looked over to the battle. "It looks like Luigi still has some spark left in him, which reminds me…"
She dug through her bag and pull out an item. She then tossed that item to the green plumber. "Look alive, youngster!"
Luigi turned just in time to catch the item she had toss to him. The item she had given him was an ice flower.
"Just a little something to get you by," she said.
Luigi nodded to her in thanks before crushing the flower in his hands. Upon doing so, his clothes change from green shirt, blue overalls to light blue shirt, green overalls.
He was now Ice Luigi.
Now with both lightning and ice power, Luigi return back to his battle with Dimentio. The jester was unfazed by the power up and continued on as usual. From the sidelines, the others observe the fight until a loud moan got their attention. Peach and Daisy sat by Mario's side as the plumber started to regain consciousness. "What happened?"
"Dimentio knock you out and now Luigi's fighting him." Daisy
"What…Luigi?"
He looks over to the fight to find that his brother was indeed fighting against the jester. With shaky feet, he stood up on his own.
"I…gotta help him."
He took a step but fell. Fortunately, Peach and Daisy was there to catch him.
"For the moment, Mario, I think you should regain some strength." said Cybele as she looks back to the battle. "Besides, I believe Luigi has everything under control."
They looked at her with uncertainty before turning to the fight themselves. To them the battle looked one-sided; most of Luigi's attacks seem to be missing. But what they didn't know was that they were all actually hitting the mark - that just so happens to be getting bigger.
Before Luigi knew it, he caught in a blast and landed on his stomach. His power up disappeared, returning him back to his former colors. The others gasped, seeing the green plumber in trouble. While he was down, Dimentio prepared to finish him.
"Say hello to Queen Jaydes for me."
Dimentio had planned on giving him an explosive death like he did when he did the first time he killed Mr. L all those years ago. He was about to trap him in one of his magical box when…
"Ow!"
He screamed as a sharp pain ran through his leg. He looks down to see Spettro biting down on him, growling as he did so. Dimentio shook his leg, trying to the ghost pup off him.
"Stupid mutt…unhand me,"
With one big kick, Spettro let go of the jester. Instead of landing on the ground, he landed in the arms of Daisy.
"Good Boy, Spettro,"
Dimentio glared down at the both of them. "I'll deal with you two next. But first…"
He turned back to Luigi who was now on his feet with his own hammer in hand. With all his strength, Luigi tosses the hammer right at Dimentio. Dimentio simply took a quick step – or rather hovered - to the left as the hammer flew right pass him.
"Hm, miss…"
Luigi smiled. "Not really,"
The hammer hit its mark which was the leaking ceiling crack. All the 'miss' attacks Luigi toss at Dimentio were actually admit at say crack so it could become larger in size and had build up pressure from the ice.
The force of the hammer was the final blow. It caused the already large crack to double in size. Dimentio looks up to the sound of breaking. Without warning, the ceiling and ice collapsed; letting lose both water and stone. Dimentio barely had time to shield himself as heavy stone and sea water fell on top of him.
Luigi stood a safe distance away as everything came tumbling down. Once it stopped, he look up to see Dimentio buried under a pile of stone. Luigi let out a quick sigh before tensing up again when the stone pile started shifting. With a powerful blast, Dimentio free himself from the stone pile. He puffed,
"Clever. But did you honestly think that will be enough to stop me?"
"Actually no; in fact I just needed the water."
"Please, water can't hurt me."
"True, but water can conducts electricity. And you're standing in a big wet puddle."
Dimentio's eyes widen. "What?!"
Dimentio looks down to see that he was indeed standing a large puddle of water. And to make matters worse, his clothes were soaking wet.
Luigi didn't give Dimentio any time to correct himself. He charges up his Thunderhand as high as he could and release an electric shock into the standing water. The electric currents travel quickly and soon Dimentio felt the strength of thousands of volts coursing through his body.
"AAAAAAEEEEEIIIIIIAAAAHHHH!"
Mario and friends shield their eyes from the blinding shock Dimentio was getting. After a total of 60 seconds, it finally stopped. They slowly unshielded their eyes only to widen them in surprise.
Even after the fatal attack Luigi delivered upon him, Dimentio was still standing. His clothes were burnt, his breath was labored, and his body was swaying slightly.
"Ha ha ha," he laugh, although it did sound weak. "That's right, little plumber. I can take anything you g-…"
POW!
Dimentio fell down on the floor. He moaned, but he didn't get back up. Luigi blinked in surprise and look over to see Daisy standing over the jester, dusting her hands as if she just did a dirty job. If anyone was going to deliver the final KO punch to Dimentio, it had to be her.

Ending Note:
I thought it would be an interesting twist if I had Luigi defeat Dimentio. In the beginning, he was the one needing saving and now, he's the one that saved everyone.
The final KO punch was give to Daisy since she wasn't in Super Paper Mario in the first place.
Next chapter will contain the character death.
