"Luigi!"
The green plumber looked up just in time to see a blur of yellow and orange collided into him. Daisy placed a lasting kiss on his cheek which caused his heart to go pounding in his chest.
"You did it, Luigi, you stop Dimentio." She cheered.
Luigi smiled and nodded to her. It's not every day that the one needing rescue become the one doing the rescuing. Spettro jumped into his hands and lick his face up as Peach and Mario slowly approached them. Mario was slightly leaning against Peach as he was a bit unbalance on his feet. He smiled upon seeing his brother and place comforting hand on his shoulder.
"Good job, bro, I'm proud of you."
Luigi blush slightly and lean against Daisy just a bit. He was exhausted and could fall down any moment now. Cybele walked over to the unconscious jester, her green eyes shining in the darkness.
"You're a very troublesome character you are," she said. "Now that the danger's over, how about we do something about those powers of yours, uhm?"
Cybele waved her staff and mumbled up a spell. She pointed the glowing staff at the down jester, causing Dimentio to glow a slightly whitish color. The others notice and walk over to her just as the glow disappeared.
"What did you do to him?" Peach asked.
"Oh, nothing much," she replies turning to face them. "I just place a small spell that will restrict him from using his powers. He shouldn't be much of a threat to you or anyone else in the future."
"That's good," Luigi sighed tiredly.
A loud moan caught their ear and they soon their attention on Fawful, Midbus, and Bowser. All three of them appeared to be alright, with a few non-life threatening injuries.
Suddenly the room started shaking. No one knew what was going on until they saw water starting to flood the inside.
"What the shell is going on?" Bowser
"The Ruins… It is returning to its resting place." said Cybele. "Quickly, we must return to the surface before the sea swallows us whole."
No one questioned her as they quickly made a mad dash towards the exit. The water was rising fast; water was already pouring down the stair as they quickly made their way up it. Finally, they made it outside and made a bee-line for the nearest ship, which so happens to be Bowser's.
"Is everyone present?"
"I think so," Peach said, providing a head count. "Everyone seems to be here."
"Wait," Luigi said suddenly. "What about Dimentio?"

Back inside the Ruins, Dimentio was slowly waking up from his subconscious. His vision was very blurry and his head was throbbing. When his sight cleared up, he found himself sitting in water as it fills up the entire room.
He stood up shakily to his feet and lean against a stone pillar. He lifts his hands to his face and tries to use his powers. All he got was a small weak energy sphere. Something was preventing him from using his full power.
Dimentio slide down from the pillar and sat in the water which was now above his waist. Surprisingly, even with the whole room engulf in water he wasn't worried - he wasn't scared. In fact, he started laughing...
"…Aha… ha… ha, ha…"
He laughed. It was nothing more than a soft chuckled at first. But soon, his head was thrown back as it turns into a long sadistic laughter. And he continues his long insane laughter…even as the Ancient Ruins sank down to the bottom of the sea.

Outside, the sun was starting to rise with sunlight piercing through the ocean horizon. Mario and friends stood safely on the ship as they watch the remained of Ancient Ruins sink down into the sea. Within minutes, the whole landscape had disappeared underwater.
"Do you think he made it out?" Peach asked silently.
Cybele shrugged. "It is uncertain…the spell I place on him only limits his power to a minimum. If he wanted, he could have escaped if he still wanted to."
"Well, whether he escapes or not, I just hope this is the last time we ever see that jester." comment Daisy.
The others silently agreed with her and turn their heads back to the open sea. The water had turn calm and peaceful again as it nothing had ever happened. Luigi suddenly left out a loud tired yarn, despite his efforts to keep it hidden. Cybele chuckled softly,
"I think it's time we head back home."
Luigi nodded to her statement. The thought of a nice warm bed felt alluring to him. But the moment he tries to head back to Daisy's ship, Bowser steps in front of him.
"Hey, you guys can go home for all I care, but Princess Peach is coming with me." The Koopa King said. "Now that that jester's gone, I can go back to doing what I do best…taking over the Mushroom Kingdom."
Everyone sighed…some things ever change.

Ending Note:
Is Dimentio really gone? We will never know...
I decided to end it like that just in the off chance that I decided to make a sequel or a spin-off.
This is the second to last chapter. The next chapter will be up later today.
