Okay! Were almost at the climax! I can do this! Screw school; I am going to finish these stories god dammit!
Time for the iconic dance scene! Hope it was worth your wait!
"I don't think I can do this," Lovino muttered as he sat in his bath. Multiple furniture servants whisked around him, washing every inch of his dark brown fur.
This was it; this was the night where he was finally going to show Amelia how much he cared for her. He only had once chance and he didn't want to blow it.
"Don't look so nervous dear," Elizaveta said as Antonio gently brushed Amelia's golden hair, "The Master is just as nervous as you are, trust me." "I'm not nervous," Amelia said with a strained smile. She clenched her nightgown in her fists hoping to slow her frantic heart; she had never felt this anxious before.
She was treading in dangerous waters here. This was the first formal thing she had ever done with Lovino during the months she had been living here; she didn't want to destroy the relationship she had with him in one fell swoop.
"Red or blue; what do you think?" Lovino asked as he went through his clothes (that still fit him that is). Feli cocked his head at the two suits, "Definitely the blue one; it matches Amelia's eyes!" he said happily.
Lovino visibly blushed as he took the suit out; there was no point in hiding it from his brother and servants; they all wanted the curse broken as much as he did.
"No way," Amelia said, turning down one of Katyusha's dresses she had inside her, "I may not be very into fashion but I know for a fact that yellow is not my color." "Well, what is your color?" Antonio asked. Amelia thought for a second, "Red, white or blue would work," she said; those were her favorite colors.
Katyusha's face lit up, "I've got it!" she exclaimed. She rummaged inside until she found the dress she was looking for, "How about this one?" Katyusha laid in on the bed and Amelia's eyes widened in amazement. Elizaveta looked at Amelia's face, "I think that's a yes."
After much fussing and last minute primping, both Amelia and Lovino were ready. Lovino walked down the right staircase, stopping on the middle platform. He nervously adjusted his royal blue jacket and fidgeted slightly, not knowing what to expect. Amelia's footsteps snapped him back to attention and what he saw took his breath away.
Amelia wore a sky blue gown with slight red tinges near the bottom. Her red barrette had been replaced with a sparkling star made of diamonds that shone with her blue eyes and dazzling smile; in short, she looked absolutely stunning. Lovino's look of awe slowly melted into a smile as Amelia approached him, "Hey," Amelia said simply.
"Hi," Lovino responded, barely audible, "You…you look beautiful." Amelia blushed, "Really?" she asked trying to calm her pulse, "Thanks; y-you look great too." "Grazi." Lovino responded.
The two stood in silence for a moment before Lovino took a deep breath and offered his arm to Amelia, "Shall we?" he asked. Amelia smiled and took his arm, "We shall." She answered.
'Tale as old as time,
True as it can be,
Barely even friends, then somebody bends unexpectedly.'
Lovino escorted Amelia to the dining room where a large dinner spread was set out before them. They sat down at opposite ends of the table and began to eat. Lovino did his absolute best to eat like a normal person and Amelia tried to keep her informal attitude under wraps; it had been so long since either of them had been to a formal event like this. Neither of them could remember the last time they had dressed up this fancy.
'Just a little change,
Small to say the least,
Both a little scared, neither one prepared,
Beauty and the Beast.'
Dinner went very well as the two managed to have a very pleasant conversation about themselves.
'Ever just the same'
Once they were done, Lovino escorted Amelia to the dance floor that he promised to show her. "It's beautiful," Amelia said softly as they walked to the middle of the dance floor.
'Ever a surprise,'
"We haven't used it in so many years," Lovino said, "There was never any reason to." Just then, the piano in the room began to play a soft and slow tune. Amelia and Lovino looked around awkwardly as the large dance floor seemed to urge them to dance.
'Ever as before,
Ever just as sure as the sun will rise'
Amelia got the hint sooner than Lovino and took his paw, "What are you doing?" Lovino asked nervously. "If you've never used this place, why not start now?" Amelia asked.
'Tale as old as time,
Tune as old as song,'
Lovino gulped as Amelia placed his other paw around her waist, "Have you ever danced before?" he asked. Amelia smiled sheepishly, "My dad taught me a little, but I'm no expert," she said before placing her hand on top of Lovino's, "I'll start us off." And the two began.
'Bitter sweet and strange,
Finding you can change, learning you were wrong.'
Francis, Antonio and Roderich watched in excitement as the two started off slowly. Lovino watched their feet and movements until he felt a bit more comfortable. Eventually, Lovino gracefully placed his paw on top of Amelia's and took the lead.
'Certain as the sun rising in the east,
Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme,
Beauty and the Beast.'
Amelia's smile was even brighter as Lovino twirled her around; she never knew dancing could be this much fun. It really made a difference if you were dancing with someone you liked. Feli peeked into the dance floor along with a few other servants as hope began to swell inside them.
They had almost no doubt in their minds that Amelia was going to break the spell; they were going to be human again in no time at all. Francis would be good-looking again, Roderich would be able to play instruments again, Tino and Berwald would be able to hug each other and love their son again, Feli…would finally get to see Ludwig again.
Feli's eyes filled with tears of happiness; he had never seen his brother so happy before. Amelia had truly changed him; she had found the human part of him and pushed the beast inside away. Amelia and Lovino slowed down a bit and Amelia laid her head on Lovino's chest. Lovino visibly blushed as Francis and Antonio gave him silent cheers.
'Tale as old as time,
Song as old as rhyme,
Beauty and the Beast.'
As the song finally came to an end, the two made their way towards the glass door in the back of the room that led to a balcony. They walked arm in arm outside to the clear night. The air was cool and crisp and the night sky was full of bright stars. The two sat down and stared at the sky, "It's so nice out night," Amelia said. "Yeah." Lovino responded.
He took a deep breath; it was now or never, "Amelia, are you happy here?" he asked. Amelia looked at him in slight surprise, "Yes, I love it here," she answered before she looked off into the distance, "But…" Lovino frowned slightly, "But what?" he asked.
Amelia sighed, "I just…really miss my dad," she answered, "I just wish I could see him, even for just a few seconds to see how he's doing." Lovino looked at the ground, slightly relieved that he hadn't blown it so far, but sad that he couldn't grant Amelia's wish. A thought then struck his mind that just might work, "There is a way to see him," he said. Amelia looked at him, "Really?" "Come with me."
Lovino led Amelia to the West Wing and picked up his magic mirror, "This mirror is magic; it will show you whatever you wish to see." He said. Amelia took the mirror and looked at it, "I'd like to see my dad please," she said. She closed her eyes as the mirror lit up brightly. Amelia looked at the mirror as the light faded but didn't like what she saw.
Arthur was dragging his feet through the woods, fighting the sharp winds and coughing loudly. He looked pale and weak with bags under his bloodshot eyes like he hadn't slept in weeks. His cloak billowed in the wind and fell to the ground with one final breath, exhausted and weak.
"Oh no…" Amelia breathed. "What's wrong?" Lovino asked. "He's sick," Amelia choked out; she had a feeling her father wouldn't take well to her being here but she never expected this. "He's all alone out there, I think…I think he may be dying!" she cried.
Lovino's breath caught in his throat as he stared at the still wilting rose. His heart felt like it was about to break, but he knew it was the right thing to do. "Then…you should go to him." He said with a heavy heart. Amelia's head snapped up, not sure if she heard right, "What?"
"I release you," Lovino said, "You're…no longer my prisoner." Amelia's eyes widened, "You mean…I'm free?" she asked. "Si," Lovino whispered, "You should hurry and get to him." Amelia nodded firmly, "Hold on, I'm coming for you, dad," she said to the mirror before handing it back to Lovino.
Lovino gently pushed it back to her, "Keep it; so you'll always have a way to look back and…remember me." He said sadly. Amelia nodded and hugged Lovino tightly, "Thank you for everything Lovi," she whispered. Lovino hugged her back before she broke away and hurried out the door.
Feli came into the room shortly after, "Ve~! Well, how'd it go fratello?" he asked. Lovino felt his heart sink even further; he hated that he had let his brother down, but he had no choice, "I…let her go," he said softly. Feli's silence was deafening, "Ve…? But…but why?" he asked sadly.
"Because…I love her…"
WHY DOES THIS STORY HAVE TO GET SO SAD AFTER SUCH A HAPPY MOMENT?! WHY DISNEY?!
I gotta say, I felt super fluffy while typing the dance scene along with the lyrics; I used to never pay attention to the song and now it's like my favorite! Disney just has a talent for making great songs, though some are a bit too catchy for humanity's own good (Looking at YOU 'Frozen'!)
I had a pretty hard time thinking up a good dress for Amelia; luckily I just bought my prom dress so that gave the inspiration I needed~! If my design fails to visualize, I guess just imagine the Belle dress only sky blue or something like that; hey, it's YOUR imagination!
So the good stuff will start to happen next chapter! I'll probably upload chapters for this and 'Digitalia' simultaneously just so I can kill two birds with one stone.
Review if you please!
