YES YES YES YES YUUUUUUUUSSSSS! THE SCENE I'VE BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THE WHOLE DAMN STORY! THE MOMENT OF TRUTH IS FINALLY HERE PEOPLE!
Seriously, I had a blast writing this part! It felt so satisfying to write the whole scene that this story was building up to! I hope you enjoy the feels as much as I did!
"Lovi!" Amelia cried as she ran towards the staggering beast. She gently guided him to the wet stone floor of the balcony and gently pulled the dagger out. Francis, Roderich, Antonio, and Elizaveta arrived at the scene with Arthur and Feli right behind them.
Feli's eyes widened in shock as he took in his bleeding brother, "Fratello…?" he whimpered. Even the man in the mirror appeared and stared in horror at the scene before him.
Amelia knelt by Lovino's massive head as he struggled to keep his eyes open, "Amelia…" he whispered, "You…you came back."
"Of course I came back; I couldn't just let them…" she trailed off as she hugged Lovino, "Dammit…this is all my fault…" she whispered.
"Amelia…" Lovino started.
"If I had just gotten here sooner, then none of this…" Amelia shook her head as tears came to her eyes. Her hands were becoming soaked in blood as she tried to keep pressure against the wound but it was no use. She hated herself for being so weak right now as Lovino coughed slightly.
"It's all right…it's not your fault," he said softly, "Maybe…it's better this way…" he said.
Amelia shook her head vigorously, "No no no, don't say that," Amelia said, her voice shaking, "Y-you're gonna be fine, we can fix you up, you-" she stopped as Lovino placed a massive paw on her cheek.
"At least…I got to see you…one last time…" he whispered.
Amelia clasped the paw firmly with both her hands as a tear fell down her cheek, the rain washing the blood off her hands. She looked down at Lovino as his arm grew heavy; finally his golden eyes rolled back into his head and closed, his arm falling heavily to the ground.
Amelia's blue eyes widened in fear as she shook her head, "No…no no…" she whispered as she leaned closer to the beast who felt stiff and cold, "No please…don't leave me…please Lovi…" she whispered as she lay her head on his massive chest, tears falling freely down her cheeks.
"I love you…"
The servants and Feli watched as the final petal of the wilting rose broke from the stem and fell to join the others, finally extinguishing the glow of the flower. Feli began to cry silently while the other servants tried to keep their tears back.
Arthur wanted nothing more than to comfort his daughter, but something just wouldn't allow him to disturb her.
The man in the mirror sunk to his knees in defeat, his head lowered to hide his tears. He gave the glass one weak pound in anger and sadness; it was all over.
Amelia wept softly over Lovino's body, clutching his fur tightly when a small flash came from the sky. Flashes of white and red began to fall from the sky like shooting stars. Amelia forced herself to raise her head and look at the strange lights all around her. She then realized that Lovino's body was glowing; not only that but it was moving!
Amelia backed away and leaned against the balcony as Lovino began to glow brighter and rise slowly into the air. Everyone stared in amazement, forgetting their sadness as Lovino slowly began to change. Amelia watched as two large furry paws became normal hands and the other two became bare feet.
Light jutted from the tips as the transformation neared completion. The large furry body of the beast became smaller and thinner until finally a huge burst of light came from his neck. The beast head was replaced with that of a normal man and he was gently lowered to the ground. Amelia stared in confusion at the man and started towards him when he stirred. The man slowly and wobbly got to his feet, his ragged clothes hanging off him loosely.
He slowly stared at his body and his hands until he finally turned towards Amelia with a look of shock on his face. The man was tall and had dark brown hair with a familiar curl sticking out. Amelia stared at him in slight fear as he slowly came towards her, "Amelia," he said in an Italian accent, "Amelia, it's me." He said as he placed his hands on her shoulders.
Amelia looked the man over before running a hand through his dark brown hair. She then looked into the man's eyes; they were the same shade of gold she knew so well, "It…it is you…Lovino…" she whispered in disbelief.
Lovino smiled as he stroked her damp hair and Amelia smiled back as they grew closer together. Amelia felt a large wind whip up around them as their lips met. The storm clouds dispersed to reveal a clear blue sky as the castle changed from its ominous and shady design to a bright, warm and welcoming style.
Amelia and Lovino broke apart and looked towards the servants who were coming happily towards them. In the blink of an eye, they changed one by one.
Francis became a tall Frenchman with long blonde hair and blue eyes, with a slight goatee wearing a royal blue cloaked outfit and red pants.
Antonio became a Hispanic man with messy brown hair and deep green eyes, wearing a yellow blouse with a red vest and brown pants.
Roderich became a tall brunette with his strange curl still intact, wearing a royal blue tail coat over a classy suit and glasses.
Elizaveta became a young girl with long curly brown hair with an orange wildflower adorning her ear. She wore a brown dress, with an apron and a green bandana on her head.
"Oh my…" Amelia trailed off in amazement as Feli transformed into almost the spitting image of Lovino only with light brown hair, wearing a white shirt and brown pants.
Feli looked himself over before his happy gaze fell on his brother, "Fratello!" he cried happily, launching himself into his brother's arms. Lovino hugged him back tightly, spinning him around before Antonio wrapped his arms around the two brothers.
"Lovi, you little tomate; I knew you could do it!" he exclaimed, ruffling his hair.
"Oh Roderich…I can't believe it!" Elizaveta cried as she hugged Roderich tightly.
"It's a miracle…a real miracle…" Roderich said, his eyes glassing over as he stroked the Hungarian's hair.
Feli then turned to Amelia and gave her a big hug as well, "It's all thanks to you Amelia!" he cried, "The curse is finally broken!"
Elsewhere in the castle a familiar milk pitcher had transformed into a small blonde man with deep brown eyes wearing a white shirt with a sky blue vest. He looked over himself in disbelief, "It…it can't be…" he whispered.
"Tino."
Tino whirled around to see a tall blonde man wearing glasses and a deep blue outfit standing at the end of the hallway. Tino's eyes widened in utter happiness, "Berwald!" he cried, running straight into his arms. The Swede held the Fin tightly, "Is this…a dream?" Tino asked.
Berwald shook his head, giving a small smile, "The curse is broken." He said.
"Momma! Poppa!"
The two men turned to see a small boy with sandy hair and wearing a blue sailor's outfit running towards them with a small white dog barking happily by his side.
"Peter! My boy!" Tino cried as he swept Peter into his arms. It had been so long since he had held the boy so close, he had almost forgotten what it felt like. Hanatamago jumped into Peter's arms as Berwald wrapped his arms around his 'wife' and son tightly while all the servants around them rejoiced at seeing their human forms again.
Back up on the balcony, after much hugging, a shattering noise was heard from the West Wing. Everyone turned to see shattered glass on the floor and the man in the mirror standing before them. He stared at them before finally finding his voice, "Feli." He said in a German accent.
Feli's eyes filled with tears, "Ludwig!" he yelled before hugging the man with all his might. Everyone couldn't help but smile as the two lovers who had been separated for so long finally reunited. "I missed you so much…" Feli whispered as the man stroked his hair.
"I missed you too." Ludwig said softly. Amelia grinned as Lovino put his arm around her; she had never felt so much love in a room before. Everyone froze when a soft groan came from behind them.
Everyone turned to see Gilbert regaining consciousness and getting to his feet. Everyone took a step back as he looked blearily at all the people before him, "What the…where the hell am I?" he asked, rubbing his head, "I was in town…doing something…hell, I can't remember."
Amelia's face brightened and she walked towards him, "You were heading to this place," she said, "There's someone here who you've been looking for." Amelia then motioned to Ludwig to come out of the dark room.
Ludwig followed with a confused expression until his eyes fell on the albino, "Gilbert?" he asked.
Gilbert's red eyes grew as wide as dinner plates, "L…Lutz…? Is that…really you?" he asked.
Lovino, Feli, and the servants all stared in disbelief at the two, "Wait…you mean this-" Lovino started and began to raise a shaky hand to point at the brothers but Amelia shushed him and put his arm down. This was their only chance to get away from this cleanly.
Gilbert began to slowly walk towards Ludwig, "All these years…I thought you were dead." He whispered. Ludwig looked at the ground in slight guilt as Gilbert slowly pulled the blonde into a hug. The two stood there in each other's arms in silence for a moment until Ludwig smacked him upside the head, hard.
Gilbert cringed and broke apart from Ludwig rubbing the back of his head, "What the hell was that for?" Gilbert demanded.
"For acting like a dumkompf all these years!" Ludwig retorted.
Gilbert laughed uneasily, "W-what are you talking about West?"
Ludwig advanced on him and the albino looked at Amelia who crossed her arms and gave him a look that said he was on his own. Everyone laughed as Gilbert was chased by his angry brother and the tension melted away.
Amelia then turned to Lovino who lifted her up and twirled her around. Amelia laughed as he set her back down before pulling her in for another kiss.
Amelia felt her heart soar into the sky like an eagle; in all her life, she had never felt happier in this moment.
IT'S NOT OVER YET FOLKS!
We still have a quick epilogue to get through which I will most likely post tomorrow or the day after depending on how many reviews I get. I'm sure everyone's busy with HSAs and exams so I don't want you guys to miss out!
Heh heh...Gil, you have some serious work to do to make for all those years of being an asshole; not to mention all the lost years between you and Ludwig. At least Amelia doesn't have to worry about him flirting with her anymore! If you think Gil deserves a little more punishment, just let me know! I'll think of something!
I was nearly crying when I wrote all the reunion scenes...such feels...much GerIta...very Romerica...*sigh*
Review! I know you want this wrapped up as much as I do!
