Chapter 15

Failed

Kagome's POV

I'm having a nightmare, that a thousand little demons are in my head, hammering on the inside of my skull. Opening my eyes to bright light, I wince. Those demons are still in my

head. I squint to attempt to block out the lights. I gazed around my surroundings. I'm in what seems to be a small room, with little of anything really. And quite frankly it was very

dirty. How did I get there? The last thing I remember was that Inuyasha showed up… I thought hard for a moment trying to remember what happened. It soon came to me. Inuyasha

had showed up and then I felt like I was being controlled then I passed out. I tried to get out of the bed but I had no strength. I realized that as I got to a crouch position then fell to

the floor.

Damn, Inuyasha had taken away my power along with my strength. My eyes winded, memories of what I did not Sango and Miroku came flooding back in. I hope they are okay. Oh I

pray that they are alright. I don't know how I would live with myself if I hurt my best friends. My eyes snapped to the door as I heard voices just outside. "She is awake, go deal with

her since you brought her here." Someone said. The voice was one that I did not recognize. A could make out the shadow of the people who were standing on the other side. It

looked like a man and a woman. The door opened revealing a man, maybe in about his twenty's. He came over to me and kneeled down. "It would be best not to move, to more you

try the weaker you will become." He said to me. He helped me back onto the bed. "Who are you?" I asked. "I am known as Yuuta. We are here in my castle Kagome." He said to me.

My eyebrows came together in confusion. I thought Inuyasha kidnapped me. "What happened?" Yuuta sat down beside me. "I was out with my men last night when we came upon a

demon. The demon looked at us, the reds of his eyes glowing, beading with the need to kill. I had noticed he had on his a young woman, whom turned out to be you. The demon

placed you done besides a tree then attacked us. I managed to get away from the demon, but I had to rescue you. When my men had him engaged in battle I snuck over to you,

and then fled, bringing you to my castle." Yuuta said. "You sacrificed your men to save me?" I asked him. Yuuta nodded. "I could not leave you in the hands of that demon." Yuuta's

face grew sad. Yuuta stood then headed for the door. "Someone will be by to bring you food." Yuuta then left.

Something was fishy about his story. Inuyasha would not have put me down. No matter what, Kikyo sent him with one goal, to capture me. Nothing would have made him put me

down, I know that. Something was not right, and the more I thought about it the more my own body told me something was not right. My hair on my arms stood up, and I got this

feeling in the pit of my stomach. My mind thought back to when he first talked to me. He called me by my name. How did he know my name, when I've never meet him before.

Something was not right, I had to get out of here and find the others. I tried to get into a sitting position but ended up falling on my back. I tried to move again but nothing worked,

soon my own body wouldn't listen to me anymore. I felt any strength I had left leave me, leaving me stuck to the floor. The door opened, my eyes went over to look at who came in.

"I told you not to move." Yuuta said. "What have you done to me?" I whispered. "We can't have any fight within you when Kikyo brings forth the sacred object." Yuuta said with a

sinister smile. My eyes went wide. I knew something was not right, he was working with Kikyo. "Why? Why would you want her to obtain it when it can kill you?" I asked. Yuuta

looked over to me. "You silly girl, I am no human." Yuuta's human appearance then faded, revealing his true appearance. As I looked at him I could feel his demonic power just

pouring off of him. He was a strong demon. "She's ready." Yuuta called out. Then the door opened again, revealing Inuyasha. "She won't put up a fight?" He asked. "No, I have

drained her off all her strength and her power." Yuuta replied. "Good." Inuyasha came over and kneeled beside me. "Inuyasha don't do this." I pleaded with him. Inuyasha smiled

showing off his razor sharp teeth. I cringed away, his full form always made me sacred. "Foolish human, with all you filthy humans gone, demons can rule the world." Inuyasha said.

He then picked me up then walked into the hallway. I tried to wiggle my way out but failed. None of my strength has returned. "You fell in love with us humans though." I whispered.

Inuyasha stopped. I felt a pulse within him. I knew I had struck the half demon side of him. I looked to him eyes; I could see flickers of gold within his red eyes. "You said that you

would love me no matter what, even that I'm human you loved me. You had pups with me a human." I kept going. I had to reach the half demon within him. "Silence." Inuyasha

growled. The gold in his eyes had disappeared, leaving the red ones instead. Tears came to my eyes, I lost him. I lost the Inuyasha I love. We entered a space that looked like a

court yard. Near the back I noticed an altar had been set up. And behind the altar was Kikyo, with Kovin within her arms. Kikyo looked our way, she saw me in Inuyasha arms then

an evil smile grew on her arms. "I always get what I want Kagome." Kikyo sneered at me. Inuyasha was about to place me on the alter when I was dropped.

I noticed Sango's Hiraikotsu spinning off. I looked over and saw Miroku, Sango and Sesshomaru stand a few feet away ready to fight. "It's over Kikyo." Sango yelled. "That's what

you think." With a flick of her wrist, demons came over head, attacking everyone. "Inuyasha, place Kagome on the altar. We must finish the spell." Inuyasha picked me up off the

ground then placed me on the altar. Kikyo then placed Kovin beside me. I looked over to Kovin, who had tear in his eyes. "It'll be okay baby." I whispered to him. Tears came to my

own tears. I knew this was the end; I had failed Kovin, Kohana, Inuyasha, and Izayoi. "Mama loves you with all her heart." I told him. I looked over to my friends, who were busy

fighting off the demons. Sesshomaru was trying to reach us but was engaged in battle with Inuyasha.

I looked over to Kikyo. "Kikyo, why are you doing this?" Kikyo then slapped me across the face. I winced from the pain it caused. "You stole Inuyasha from me, this is my revenge."

Kikyo hissed. "Kikyo, you don't have to do this." I pleaded. "That's where you are wrong Kagome. I finally win." Kikyo said. Then she turned away. She then picked up a dagger then

started to chant. I looked back to Kovin. "I love you." I kept whispering to him. I looked back up to Kikyo who just finished her chant. "This is the end for you Kagome." Kikyo said

then she plugged then dagger into my chest. I could feel the dagger pierce through my skin, ribcage, and finally…my heart. I gasped at the pain then took a few jagged breaths. I

could feel the blood spilling from the hole in my head. I felt the warmth of my blood leave my body and spill onto the altar, things started to grow dark. I felt the darkness closing in

on me, my eyes started to fall. My last thoughts before I fell into the darkness were, I love you all.
