Chapter 22
Reunion
Inuyasha's POV
Today was just full of surprises. I was done at the river with Kovin when one of the village men came looking for me. Sango had requested that I meet her at her hut, something
about demons that needed to be dealt with. I told Kovin that I would be back shortly, and then went to Sango's hut. Kovin was able to protect himself so I had no worries about
leaving him alone. As I got closer to the hut a breeze passed by me carrying with it the scents of the demons…wait…half demons? I stop walking as I got a good whiff of the scents.
Whoever was inside the hut smelt like Kagome, and a mixer of me? That couldn't be, Kovin was down at the river, and he was the only one who smelt this way. I lightly shook my
head. I parted the hut's door and went inside.
I scanned the hut as I went inside. Beside the fire pit was three kids, two girls and one boy. They looked to be about Kovin's age. I looked over to Sango. "What's going on Sango?"
I asked her. Sango nodded her head in the kid's direction. "The villagers found them onto of the hill." Sango said. I huffed and crossed my arms. "You dragged me away from Kovin to
have me deal with a bunch of kids." I noticed then that both of the girl's heads snapped up towards me. The features of the girl were oddly familiar. The boy look over, I felt my eyes
go wide. He looked just like me. "Did you just say Kovin?" The girl asked. "Yeah, Kovin is my son." I replied. My eyes wandered over them, as I continued to look at them then more
confused I got.
My eye brows came together as I stopped my gaze on the boy who looked like me. "Who are you?" I asked. The other girl looked up at me; both she and I guess her sister looked
back and forth between their brother and me. The one with the white hair looked over to me. . "I am Kohana, this is my sister Izayoi and my brother Inu." I felt my eyes go wide, I
was about to ask if I heard right when I hear Sango gasp, confirming that I indeed hear right. "Are you Kagome's children?" Sango asked. "Yeah she is our mama." Izayoi said as she
looked back and forth between Sango and I. "Kagome's alive?" Sango asked. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Inu roll his eyes. "Duh of course she is." Inu said as he crossed his
arms over his chest.
Everything fell silent after that, I backed up against the wall and slid down to the ground. I could not believe it. Kagome was alive? But how was it possible? I was there when her
heart stopped beating. When her body disappeared did something happened that return her to the world of the living? "Does someone want to tell us what's going on?" Inu asked,
snapping all of us out of our thoughts. I looked over to him. "How much has your mother told you?" I asked him. He was a silent before answering. "She explained to us about what
we are, why we are different. She also told us that we had a brother who she thought was living with our father. She told us that she was taken away from them a long time ago."
He said.
Kohana picked up after Inu. "She said that no matter how hard she tried she could not get back to them." I felt a sense of relief when Kohana said that Kagome had tried to come
back to me. "Inuyasha you should tell them." Sango said to me. I brushed my bangs out of my eyes. "Wait, mama said that Inu was named after his father." Kohana said. I looked up
to her; her eyes were just like her mothers. You could see some stuff clicking inside of them, piecing together to rest of the puzzle. Kohana and Izayoi looked over to me. "Are you
our father?" They both asked at the same time. I gave a small smile. "Yeah, I'm your father." I replied. Both girls gave a small gasp then got up and ran over to me. "I knew one day
we would finally meet our father." Izayoi said as she threw her arms around me. Kohana joined in on the hug, I hugged them close. Not wanting to let them go, for the fear of losing
them.
I looked over the girls shoulder to Inu; he was glaring at me, reminding me that he is not only like me in looks but attitude as well. "Inu aren't you happy?" Kohana asked as she
looked back at him. Inu just shrugged his shoulder, reminding me of a lot like me with Kagome. "How come you don't live where mama does?" Izayoi asked. "It's a long story, I would
rather tell it with your mom." I said to her. "Speaking of which, how do we get home?" Inu asked. I looked over to him surprised. "Why would you want to go home?" I asked. "Well I
want to go home; I don't want to stay here." I said bluntly. I felt a little hurt when Inu said that. "The same way you got here, through the well." I told him, Inu the stood up. "Come
on girls, were going home." Inu told them.
Kohana looked to her brother. "No, I want to stay here with our dad." She said. "What about mom? Are you going to leave her?" Inu snapped at her. I saw Kohana's face fall, you
could just tell by her facial expression that Inu had struck a nerve. "Well I'm leaving with or without you." Inu said then walked out of the hut. I wanted to follow after him but
something made me stay on the ground. Izayoi ran out after him. "Inu wait." I heard Izayoi call. I listened carefully. "Inu what it wrong with you?" Izayoi asked. "I just get a bad
feeling, I feel as if there is more to that story that they aren't telling us." Inu replied. It was silent a few moments. "You have that feeling too? I felt it as soon as we entered this
world." Izayoi said.
I told you I would rather tell it with your mother I felt like screaming that at them. "Whatever it is Inu, Mom and dad will explain to us what happened." Izayoi said, I sighed a bit glad
that she understood. "I'll be right back." I told Sango and Kohana. I got up and followed the two out the door. I made sure to stay out of sight. "Isn't curious as to why we were able
to go through the well and mom couldn't?" Inu said to Izayoi. I've wondered that too to be honest, as to why I could not get through. Every day I would try to get through the well.
"I never thought of it, but now that you brought it up it is a bit curious." Izayoi said. Inu stopped and faced her. "I'm going home, you can stay if you want look to after Kohana." Inu
said to her. "No, I want to go home to. I want to know the truth." Izayoi said. "Okay, let's go then." Inu replied.
Izayoi took Inu's hand and walked back towards the well. I followed after them, hiding in the forest. I could tell that Inu had sensed me when he started to look straight into the
forest searching. They both stopped in front of the well and peered into it. "Ladies first." Inu said. "Let's go together." Izayoi said. Inu nodded then hopped onto the edge of the
well, then he helped Izayoi up. "On three…once…two…three." On three they jumped, disappearing from sight. I jumped down from my hiding spot in the trees and ran to the well. I
looked inside to find the well bottom empty. I looked up to the sky, have the gods finally allowed us to be together? Can I really have the chance to be with Kagome? I looked back
down to the well. "We will be together Kagome; I will make sure of it."
