Chapter 24
A plan
Inu's POV
I watched as mom got up from the table and slowly make her way up the stairs. I still had many questions, but I knew it was best for me if I held my tongue. I looked over to Izayoi
who was also looking after where mom went a depressed look upon her face. Izayoi then looked over to me. "What are we going to do?" She asked me. "I wish I knew." I said
honestly. I looked back to the stairs; my ears twitched picking up the sound of mom crying. "We have to do something and quick." I said out loud. "Grandma, do you think great-
grandpa would have anything that could help?" Izayoi asked grandma.
I looked over to the table, where grandma was sitting her hands cupped around a tea mug. Her grasp looked like the tea mug could break at any moment. "You would have to ask
him Hun." Grandma said. I then noticed that great-grandpa was gone. Most likely out to the shed of his, where he kept all his precious items. "Come on Izzy." I said, and then
headed out to the back door. I was right; great-grandpa was inside the shed, sorting through some of the things. "Grandpa, we have a question for you?" Izayoi said as she walked
into the shed. I followed her, immediately regretting it. The smell was horrible; it made my nose feel like someone had light a fire inside.
Great-grandpa stopped what he was doing and turned to face us. "What can I do for you kids?" He asked. "Well we were wondering if there was anything, which you could have
that could help us help mom get back to dad." Izayoi said. Great-grandpa smiled. "I came in here myself wondering that myself if there was something." He said, then turned back to
face a shelf. "I'm not too sure, but I will look to see if I can find something that will be of use. Kagome has been depressed for so long that its time she gets her happy ending."
Great-grandpa then started to rummage through the items on the shelf. Izzy turned around to face me. "We might as well help" Izzy walked up to great-grandpa and placed a hand
on his shoulder. "Inu and I will help you out, we might find something sooner if more are looking." Izzy said then turned around to face the same shelf.
I shrugged my shoulders than got to work, looking through each and every book. After an hour, I knew the reason why I did not like school too much, was too much reading. All this
reading was not helping the school issue much either. I snapped my book shut with a loud thud. "I can't stand this anymore. I need a break." I announced got up from the floor and
left. As I stepped out of the shed I was meet with a gust of wind, it felt nice to finally be able to get some clean air, well somewhat clean air. I decided to walk around for a bit, trying
to clear my head. How were we going to find a solution to help mom with those old books? Mom said once that most of the stuff inside that shed was useless.
As I passed by the sacred tree, a thought came to me. I looked up to the tree; this same tree was where we were, when we met our father. Does that mean that somehow we are
connect to where he is? The tree really got me wondering, could there be a way that this tree could help us. Before I was able to fully understand what I was doing, I had reached
the well house. I threw open the wooden door and walked down to the well. I stopped right beside the ledge. I placed both hand on the edge and closed my eyes. I had a little bit
of spiritual power that I inherited from mom, but not a lot. I scanned the well, detecting traits of some sort of magic. I opened my eyes to look into the well, inside was this blue hue.
I quickly glanced behind my shoulder making sure no one had followed me. Without another moment wasted I jumped into the well. Leaving behind my world for this weird one, the
blue light engulfed me, bringing me to the other side. I landed gently on the ground this time, since Kohana and Izzy flattened me last time. I looked up and saw the bright blue sky,
it worked. I crouched down low and with all my strength jumped up to the top. Once I was out I searched around, trying to find which way to go. I spotted the village off in the
distance. I took off running towards the village. I made it there in a short amount of time.
I slammed on my breaks, the momentum propelling me forwards. I ended up falling flat on my face. I muttered a string of curses as I got up back to my feet. My ears picked up a
sound off to my right, it sounded like laughter. My eyes searched for where the sound was coming from. I noticed a shadow from behind a hut. I crossed my arms over my chest. "I
know your there, you might as well come out." I said. The shadow slowly moved out from behind the hut. As the person came into view, I noticed that it was a girl. "What do you
want?" I asked her. Her eyes widened then her gaze dropped down to her hands. She said nothing which really bothered me. "Fine then, later." I said, and then started to walk
away.
I stopped, looking around. I had no clue where I was going; we came in a different way last time. Great, now I have to go back and see if that girl is still there. I turned around and
looked around for the girl. I saw she had not moved from the spot I left her in. "Hey, do you know where…" I had to stop a moment to try to remember the lady's name. "Sango's
house is?" I asked as I remembered her name. The girl looked up to me, her brown eyes wide. Her one eye brow was raised though, with a confused look on her face. I thought
about what I said for a moment. It dawned on me that she might not know what house means. "Where her hut is." I corrected myself. "What do you want with my mom?" She
asked.
I was surprised that she actually talked. "I'm looking for Inuyasha." I told her. The girl started to chew on her bottom lip. "Follow me, I'll bring you. I'm Mika." The mystery girl finally
has a name, Mika. Not that bad of a name if I must say. "I'm Inu." I told her. "Are you Inuyasha's son?" Mika asked as we walked into the center of the village. "Yeah, you could tell?"
I asked. Mika nodded. "You look a lot like him your dad, Kovin looks a bit like him, but not much." Mika told me. "I would not know I've never meet Kovin." I said truthfully. Mika
stopped walked and turned to face me. "What do you mean you have not met him? Are you not his brother?" Mika asked. "Yeah I am, we were just separated at a young age." I told
her.
Mika stopped the conversation then, we continued to walk we arrived to the hut in a few moments. "Inuyasha should be here." Mika said as she parted the hanging door. I followed
in after her, seeing Inuyasha or well dad sitting on the ground. "Inu what are you doing here?" Dad asked shocked to see me. "I need your help, were trying to find a way to help
mom come back." I told him. Dad looked me in the eye. "Why would you come here?" He asked. "Well there is magic in this world, so I thought maybe someone could help us." I
asked. Dad looked thoughtful for a moment, and then a sort of light gleamed in his eyes. "I believe there is someone who can help us out."
Wishing a Happy Birthday to Bee1313!
