Chapter 5
Flying across the city Caroline hurried worry was bubbling up inside her, Lucy scent was mixed with fear and distress this Loki guy wasn't human…..his scent was mixed with hers, only meaning that Lucy had found him stopping mid air she gasped and felt her whole body tingle when a blast of celestial energy shoot through the worlds raw magic, "What the heck…Lucy!" Dread filling her Caroline flew faster than before just hoping that Lucy was going to be ok "Just hold on Luc almost there….."
She fallowed the scent all the way to an almost perfectly circular cavern and on the jetting piece of cliff where a headstone stood was Lucy using a dangerous amount of energy to try and get Loki…..Leo back to the Celestial world, the Celestial King landing down on the ground a few feet away letting her wings slip back into her back while moving silently forward, "PLEASE JUST LET HIM GO BACK! DON'T LET HIM DIE ALL HIS FRIENDS DON'T WHAT HIM TO DIE, IT WASN'T HIS FAULT!" Lucy scream to the King begging him to let Leo go back to his world and get better "Lucy stop this you're going to use up all your energy and die too…..and I don't want your death on my mind too I'm begging you Lucy STOP!"
"He's right Lucy you should stop…..I'll take over." Shocked by the new voice Caroline stepped into the light that was emitting from the King, her eyes never leaving the prone forms of Lucy and Leo staring at her with surprised looks upon their faces.
"You… she is right and that it wasn't his fault, I know what happened to that woman, if it's anyone's fault for that woman's death it is her own…..and yours Celestial King." Her head suddenly snapping around eyes an unsettling shade of blue that radiated power that was not human, "You are the king of your people; and yet you did nothing to save your subjects from being mistreated and abused!?…What kind of king does not protect his people, when he has the power to do so! I can tell you what kind of king that is…..a Tyrant, is that what you are? How could you let that have continued you could have stopped it before it had even gotten that far, could have given her a warning or forbidden her from using Aries again; but you didn't YOU. DID. NOTHING!"
The air around them seem to become thicker and heavier as her anger rose and at some point her wings came back out, spread wide and completely…..but were not the lovely white they had been before, they were pitch black, hard and sharp as steel. The Celestial King felt something he hadn't felt in ages….fear, pure raw fear. "You are right and I have my reasons….but I think this has gone on long enough as well…old friend I grant you your position back and your right to come and go from here and the Celestial World as you please, you are bound by contract with this young woman Miss Lucy. As well as another gift to not only you but to the other Celestial spirits, I grant you all the right to have children with each other…and with a human if you wished."
Smirking that he caught her message she calmed down as he left and the water of the falls started once more, walking over to them Caroline knelt down next to them Lucy passed out from exhaustion she felt Leo's eyes on her and looked up "Hello again Leo…..or should I call you Loki now?" Chuckling at the look on his face, Loki smirked feeling so tired but also happy that he could finally go home "Either one is ok…..can we talk more later….after I go back and rest?"
Looking up from adding his key to her key-ring Caroline nodded "Sure Leo no problem you just go and get some rest, I'll take Lucy back." Giving her a nod Leo went back to the Celestial World for the first time in so long, picking up Lucy bridle style she sprouted her wings and took off…..unaware that she was being watched from the shadows.
The next day Lucy summoned Loki and let him explain to everyone about what happened, "So you're a Celestial being?" Natsu asked as some things about the 'former' wizard came in to light "So that explains why when we switched bodies I didn't feel anything!"
"Yup that's right sorry for not coming out with the truth sooner, and it's also thanks to little Caroline over there too if she hadn't…" Loki never got to finish and as a bucket was flung from across the courtyard fallowed by Caroline yelling "IM NOT LITTLE! YOU FUCKING CLAWLESS BASTARD!" Loki just rubbed the spot where the metal bucket hit and chuckled "I wanted to give these passes to Wonderland Island casino and resort as a thanks for all you guy did, and an apology to you guys. Well me and Lucy have to go and 'discuses' our contract! Come Lucy let's get going!" Loki snatched Lucy up into his arms struggling the whole time as he carried her off smiling, beaming the whole way and if you could see it hearts would be fluttering around his head.
Shaking her head Caroline let out a sigh before she looked over to where Gray stood with Natsu looking over the tickets while Erza walked over to her smirking "Here Caroline this one is yours and a special thank you gift from Loki as well." Confusion was written all over her face as she took the small box from Erza's hand with the ticket, opening the box she looked in only to smile at what she saw inside was a necklace with a Leo zodiac symbol hanging from the chain.
She quickly put it on loving the sweet gift from her old friend, they had become fast friends after she told him that she herself was born under his sign, "So Erza when do you think we should go?" not a moment after the words left her mouth Erza re-equipped into a swimsuit, open t-shirt, flip-flops, straw sunhat and sunglasses with her cart of luggage magically appearing behind her "How about now?"
Caroline laughed as they made their way over to the others…..well minus Lucy at the moment, when they got over to Natsu and Gray…..Gray was holding a large multiple layer pink lunch box a look of confusion and of being highly disturbed, but that still didn't stop Natsu from reaching in to get a taste of whatever was inside "NATSU DON'T YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!" Natsu jerked his hand back quickly as if he had just been shocked by electricity. She grabbed the box and looked inside, her blood boiled at the sight of Gray's face made out of food then something greasy dripped onto the side of her hand; holding it out Caroline made a disgusting face at the sight of octopus tentacles and other thing coming out of whatever open there was on the sides.
"First off where did this come from?" there was a dark sharp tone to her voice as spoke looking up through her bangs as they fell into her face.
"No idea this water came out of nowhere and soaked us and the next thing we knew there it was!" Natsu nodded along with Gray as he filled his girlfriend in on what happened while she wasn't there, Gray couldn't help but feel a little turned on by this Caroline was practically brimming with jealousy even though they both knew that neither one of them could OR would ever be interested in someone that wasn't the other.
Glaring at the box as if it was its entire fault growling Caroline walked over to the trashcan that was close by and threw it away, "You don't know if it could have been poisoned." Gray walked over to her with her back still turned to him; he gently placed his hands on her upper arms pulling back till she was press agent his chest coking his head slightly to the side to peer at her face Gray softly whispered to her, "Caroline I love you…you know that so… don't worry I wouldn't have let Natsu eat any of it in the first place, that was just playing creepy…..and smelt disgusting to boot!" That earned him a weak chuckle from his beloved gently grasping her chin Gray turned her face to look at him in the eyes, "You're the only one I have ever truly loved with all my heart, I may not be a Veela….but some part of me has always known you were the one."
Leaning down Gray softly pressed his lip agents her own soft warm pair softly moaning Caroline relaxed completely agents him that he had to wrap his strong firm arms around her to keep her standing, when he pulled back she let out a groan of disappointment it was Gray's turn to chuckle Caroline gave him a pout looking away from him.
Gray nuzzled his face agents her neck he felt her shiver causing him to tighten his grasp on her as he felt himself begin to stir with in his pants that somehow he managed to keep on this time, a blush crept across Caroline's cheeks when she felt his member twitch agents her ass trying to change the subject before she lost all control "Um…..did…did you get your ticket from Loki?"
Letting out a sigh he pulled back giving her a knowing look on why she changed the subject he reached to his back pocket and showed her his ticket smiling Caroline jerked her head towards the others "Erza is already to go I think it would be a good idea to go and have some fun with the gang…and maybe we could sneak in some alone time for a date or two?" She asked in an almost shy tone smirking Gray leaned to whisper in to her ear "Oh I plan on taking you on more than two dates….so you better be ready as soon as we arrive I'm going to steal you away and make sure you and I are not disturbed at all." Caroline whimpered quickly shutting her eyes suddenly feeling light headed at the sudden rush of excitement at the thought of spending all that time alone with her mate.
Later that same day after Lucy got free from Loki only to spring the new to them that after they made out their contract Loki asked her out and she said yes, Caroline was just finish packing her bag when a knock came from the door raising an eyebrow as she dropped what she had in her hands 'Who could this be, we are all meeting at the docks so…..who?' just as she reached for the door handle the door opened reveling Erza looking slightly annoyed at her not answering the door fast enough, "When where you two going to tell me and the rest of the guild?!" Staring wide eyed mouth open in slight gasp looking from side to side trying to figure what her friend was talking about, seeing her at a loss for words Erza sighed and rubbed her forehead "When were you going to tell us that you and Gray finally got together?" Chocking on a breath of air Caroline had a little coughing fit, when she recovered she looked at her now smirking friend "What?! What you mean 'finally got together'?"
Taking a step forward Erza leaned forward slightly "You didn't think that we weren't watching you two? Everyone at the guild that knows you and Gray since we were kids knew that you two were bound to get together, when we saw you to kissing at the guild construction site you wouldn't believe how many 'About time' and 'What took them so long' I heard." Erza laughed it only brought more color to Caroline's face before she sighed rubbing the back of her head she decided that it was best to tell the truth now.
"The truth is Erza is that…Gray is my mate." Just as Erza was about to say something Caroline raised her hand to stop her "I'm half Veela and half Dragon Clander, Gray has accepted me for what I am and to be my mate; as you know Veela's let their mate pick how long the courtship will be and at first he choose a year then a few days ago at dinner he changed it to six months. So yes Gray and I are finally together and I would love it if you and the others do your own thing while Gray and I go on dates and that….please I promise we will spend time together all of us."
Erza blinked a few times before she smiled at her friend walking over to pull her into a gentle hug, "Thank you for telling me, and don't worry I'll keep the others too busy to even think about hunting you down and interrupting you two."
"Thank you Erza but promise me you won't forget to have some fun yourself…..ok?" giving Caroline a firm nod Erza let go and quickly left so she could finish packing, Caroline did a quick mental check making sure she had everything she needed…unlike Erza she couldn't re-equip what she was wearing spire of the moment. Caroline didn't want to over pack but being so nervous about the upcoming dates with her mate and the thought alone of that sent her body into shivers of excitement, a few minutes later Caroline stepped out placing her bag on the ground as she locked her front door she puts her keys away into her pocket and reaches down to grab her bag only to find it gone!
"What the hell" she looked around for her bag when a chuckling behind her reached her ears "Eep!" crying out as an arm wrapped around her middle pulling her backwards into their chest, the feeling admitting from the solid form agents her back was cool and the smell of mint and pine hit her nose making her body relax in seconds flat. The grip around her tightened as they buried their face into her hair slow near her ear "You're not going to put up a fight?" it was her turn to chuckle before she let a content sigh out .
Blushing she looked off to the side as if she could fight him she was right where she only ever dreamed about being…in Gray's arms, noticing that she hadn't said anything Gray reached around grabbing her chin he titled her head back, seeing the blush with the shy look Gray couldn't hold back from leaning forward and capturing her lips with his own.
After a few minute Gray ended the kiss and let her go, turning around Caroline noticed he had not only his bag…..but hers as well. Gray raised an eye brow at Caroline when she held out her hand; he knew what she wanted but wasn't going to let his woman carry her bag, what time he did have with his parents when he was young they had taught him to be a gentleman to girls and when he found the girl he wanted to marry….to treat her like a princess. Smirking Gray went to take the out stretched hand Caroline rolled her eyes "My bag Gray hand it over."
Gray shook his head "Nope not happening I'm not going to my woman carry anything, and no use arguing with me I might be your mate, but you're also mine." Taking her cheek in his free hand he cherished it with his thumb with a tender loving look in his eyes that made Caroline weak in the knees with her heart skip a beat, "And I take care of what's mine."
Finally taking her hand in his, Gray heard a soft sigh in defeat smirking only when she squeezed his hand back "You know I will get back for this, it's my duty as the Veela to make you happy and do things for you." Gray smirked and leaned over kissing her cheek loving how after he pulled back they would be bright red with her glaring up at him for making her blush…..
"That may be, but as the boyfriend/veela mate it's my job to shower you with as much love as humanly possible, I love you and am going to spoil you as much as you spoil me." Caroline rolled her eyes at him and pushed him away with a soft, with both bags over his shoulder Gray held out his hand to her again taking it in hers she leaned agents Gray's arm while they walked, they were half way to the docks simply enjoying being with each other before Caroline opened her mouth to speak "Erza knows now."
Gray looked down at her cocking a brow at her before she continued "She came by earlier to ask why we hadn't informed her about us being together….so I had to tell her about what I am and one of the reasons we are together." Looking up through her lashes she searched Gray's eyes to find any trace that he might be even a little upset, but when she looked into his eyes all she saw were his eyes shining with their own kind, sweet smile like the one on his face.
"You're not upset?" Chuckling Gray stopped them pulling his hand free Gray cupped her cheek before leaning in and kissing her slow and sweetly. By the time Gray pulled back Caroline had a dazed dreamy look on her face, when she felt Gray's lips leave hers she whimpered softly letting her eyes flutter halfway open only for her vision to be filled with Gray's deep blue eyes, "No I'm not…..not one little bit. Caroline I want to run to the highest point of the world and yell for everyone in the world to know that I love you and you alone."
Caroline blushed and looked to the side trying to hide it knowing he was enjoying this all too much, hearing him chuckle softly only proved her right Gray wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her close as they began walking again. Up ahead they could see Lucy, Erza, Natsu and Happy all waiting for them, when their friends spotted them they began to wave their arms, chuckling they picked up the pace of their footsteps.
Juvia watched from a window on the ship as 'HER' prince Gray and…THAT girl meet up with their friends to board the ship 'How dare she think I would ever poison my love!' she kept watching them until they board the ship and were out of her sight, Gray lead Caroline to their room having called ahead he arranged not only their room on the ship…..but also the one at the hotel he wanted alone time in any form he could get it in.
Opening the door for her Gray waited until they were inside before closing and locking the door behind him, Caroline looked over the room seeing only one bed she looked over at Gray….her heart racing with excitement though she knew he meant something else, "Gray what did you do?" Caroline fallowed him with her eyes watching him place their bags by the bed before walking over to her, grasping her hips and pulling her close, her hands going up to grab his shoulders as he leaned in resting his forehead agents hers staring into her eyes "I arranged for us to share this room on the ship and…..at the hotel. Don't worry I'm not rushing this….I just want you to myself even before we get to the island, call me greedy or whatever, but let me ask you this….is it wrong to wish the world away and that this room was it…that we were the only two?"
Caroline stared back at him paused for a moment before sliding her hands up to the base of his skull pulling his lips down to meet hers, kissing him slowly pushing all her love and feelings into the kiss. They pulled apart when someone knocked on the door fallowed by a loud groaning, Caroline chuckled looking back at Gray "Natsu." She turned making to move out of his arms only for him to tighten his arms around her more, Caroline looked back at Gray raising an eyebrow "Just ignore him."
Caroline rolled her eyes at that, "Not possible I need to give him his bottle of the pills and I got to take mine so we don't get sick from the boats movements…..unless that's how you want to spend time with me…laying in bed sick from motion sickness?"
Sighing Gray loosened his arms letting her go, it didn't take more than a minute before Natsu was gone and she had swallowed a pill for herself when she turned to ask Gray what they should do first; Caroline's breath caught in her throat swallowing hard Gray had stripped down to his underwear and just the sight of him made her Veela blood roar in her ears for him to claim him NOW! Closing her eyes Caroline tried to slow down her breathing…..to clam her blood and body down, they have only been dating about a month.
Gray looked over at her raising an eyebrow before looking down finally realizing that he had taken off his clothes again, just before he reached down to put his clothes back on Caroline grabbed his wrist pushing him on to the bed kissing him passionly. Gray buried his fingers in her hair kissing back; a moan vibrates at the back of his throat my mind racing with his desired and fighting it, Caroline pulled back brushing her nose agents his slowly opening her eyes at the same time "Caroline?"
Smiling Caroline pulled back taking his hands in hers she kissed his palms before looking back into his eyes "Don't worry my love I'm in control of myself, just because we are waiting for the end of the courtship doesn't mean I can't give in a little and still fallow the courtship." Sitting up on his elbows his brows pinched together "What…..what do you mean?"
"I mean even normal couples do small sexual acts when they aren't ready or are waiting till they actually do it…..as your mate I not only need to make you happy…..I want to make you happy." She leaned forward, hands on his shoulder slowly dragging her nails down leaving angry red lines in their wake making him groan; grasping her hips she whispered so soft and sweetly in his ear, "Will you let me make you happy?"
Gray simply nodded his head right at the moment not trusting his voice…..but opened his eyes back up not realizing that he had closed them at some point, Caroline kissed Gray one more time before dusting his jaw line with kisses, then across his neck making sure not to leave any marks there…yet. When she met the guild mark on his chest she looked up at him smirking when she met his eyes with her own slowly, ever so slowly Caroline traced the outline of the guild mark her eyes never leaving his; she watched them…if possible darken even till she kissed the center of the mark.
Slowly still watching his face Caroline kissed down his stomach moaning as she licked and nipped lightly at his skin….and ooohhhh the taste of his skin was so delicious, but just as she reached his boxers a pounding came from the door so suddenly both jumped almost out of their skin. "Caroline, Gray come on their serving lunch….you better hurry before Natsu eats it all…" Looking at each other the mood ruined for the best laughed Caroline got up and tossed Gray his clothes, Caroline walked over to the door and opened it slightly meeting Lucy in the eyes "Alright be right there go save us a place."
"Alright see you guys there." Lucy waved and walked off; Caroline closed the door and turned around meeting Gray face to face an impish grin on his face, "So care to tell me what you were doing before hun?" Coking an eye brow at him she looked off to the side faking innocent "I have no idea what you're talking about dear." She smirked before slipping from under his arm and out the door laughing.
Pulling his shirt on Gray kept it open grabbing the room key and making sure the door and windows were secured he went after her…..she did make him happy every second he was with her…..though he wished Lucy had waited a little while longer, Gray sighed shoving his hands in his pockets he made his way to the dining area of the ship.
