"Ugh, what am I going to wear?" I freaked out. "Calm down we will find something." Sally tried to assure me. Naturally I couldn't see her reasoning through all of my stress. Then there was a knock at the door. Jaque opened it. "Hi Alina, come on in. We could use some help!" "I heard that!" I growled. "Oh no, did you change your mind little one?" Alina asked. "No." I yelled and threw my hands up in the air. "I don't have anything to we…" I stopped. In Alina's arms was a dress bag. I froze right where I stood; sweet Alina had come to the rescue. I walked up to Alina and embraced her. She laughed and pulled out of my hug. "Careful you might wrinkle it!" Everyone started to laugh, which helped ease the growing tension in the room. Then Alina opened the bag to reveal a beautiful dress.
It was a deep blue, like a royal blue; it was shiny-soft material. It was a halter top with a sweet heart neck-line. There were these semi-sleeves that would wrap around the sides of my shoulders quite nicely! The group of women did their "oh" and "aw" thing. "Wow Alina it is breathtaking." I stated. Then something dawned on me. Part of my mark would show! My mark comes from the back of my neck and down my back. It also starts over my heart and connects under my arm to my back with the rest of the mark. I had been warned that no other male should ever, under any circumstances, see my mark! My mark was only for my true mate. I started to worry. "Shhh, we can leave your hair down, it will cover up everything!" Alina assured me. "Okay, let's get started!"
Sally and Jen got right to work with my hair and makeup. Jaque was more for emotional support and a distraction. My hair was pulled half up in a twist. My makeup, they kept very subtle and natural looking. As I was sitting there, the girls would share stories of their bonding ceremonies. Jen's story made me worry. They told me that she didn't die due to the ceremony, stuff before that happened. I realized that Jen, Jaque, and Sally were all married as well as bonded! Would I be getting married? Is that mandatory? Do I want to get married right now? What's the difference between being married and bonding your eternal soul to another? It felt like the room had heated up. As they finished, I was turned towards the mirror. Sally and Jen had done an amazing job. "Well? Do you like it?" Sally asked. I nodded my head, blinking back tears. "Okay, okay, none of that!" Alina smiled. I looked up at the clock. It is 9:30 p.m.! I started to fidget. "Just think in half an hour you will be bonded!" Alina cheered. "Say goodbye to fun and to privacy. Say hi to over protectiveness and no fun, oops already said that." Jen laughed. I got up and started to pace. I had walked back and forth about three times before the women noticed a growing problem.
"It's alright; calm down, nothing to worry about." Sally tried to help. Alina appeared to be very concerned. I continued to pace. I could feel the panic starting to build up. Alina told them to give me some space. She then put up her hands in surrender, "Little one, everything will be okay." I caught a glimpse of my expression in the mirror. I had a wild, dangerous look in my eyes. I had a grimace on my lips showing a little bit of teeth. My eyes were glowing; I looked almost feral, like a caged animal.
I stopped pacing; I closed my eyes, and took a few deep breaths. "Kaity are you okay?" Jaque lightly touched my shoulder. I opened my eyes to look at her. "I didn't know. I just…" I fell silent. "Come tell us what's wrong." Alina ushered me back to the chair I had been recently sitting on. "What's wrong pussy cat?" asked Jen. "It's just so overwhelming. It is happening so fast. Like I am giving everything up! What if he changes his mind? Where will we live? Why do I fell as if I have lost my spirit? What ab..."
"Shhhhh! You are too young to worry so much. You will live here. You are a pack member, you are family! You and Pedro will have your own room. We want you here!" Alina explained. "Ya', we're family. Plus you aren't losing everything, your gaining sooo much more than you could possibly want. You're gaining a life mate and best friend! And a family. He won't change his mind. Trust us." Jaque stated. "I'm sorry I was just kidding. It is never a dull moment in this pack. If anything your life is just beginning! I should just shut my trap." Jen apologized. "FINALLY!" they all chimed in. We laughed until we cried.
Sally held my hand, "maybe you are so upset because you and Pedro haven't had any contact." I looked at her like she was crazy. "When true mates are separated, not even the bond is enough. You need actual physical contact to be happy. Too much time apart takes an emotional toll." So she was snooping with her gypsy healer powers. "Nosey." I whispered at her, Sally smiled. Then it was all crystal clear. I missed him; I couldn't bear to be without him any longer. The anxiety was still there, making my skin crawl. Luna? Is everything okay? ~~Everything is perfect, this is the moment I've waited for my whole life! ~~I'm glad to hear it my love. I could feel you were upset. I was hoping you didn't change your mind. ~~Of course I didn't! I love you. And I love you my Luna. Then it felt like he brushed a kiss across my cheek.
I smiled from ear to ear and the anxiety slightly subsided. "I take it that someone is ready for her dress?" Jaque asked. I grabbed the dress and retreated to the bathroom. It felt amazing against my skin. Just wearing it made me feel beautiful. I stepped out of the bathroom. Everyone gasped and awed with approval. "It is time little one. Are you ready?" Alina asked. "I need a minute alone. I'll be right down, I promise!" I said. The group was hesitant; they even threatened to come back. I smiled as I watched Jaque waddle out of the room.
