The Lion is an Angel
Chapter 9: A reason why we are here.
Henry's POV
After getting dressed, Peter decided to go ahead and explore the camp. I too walk around the camp with Oreius as he showed me around. He may look intimidating, but he's actually kind of cool. He showed me the weapons tent with the different types of weapons. There were swords, spears, axes, bows, and trunks filled with arrows. A faun laughed in my awe that he placed a helmet on me. Sadly it didn't fit causing the helmet to slip forward covering my eyes. It was impossible not to laugh.
When I asked about the Narnian creatures I never saw before Oreius kindly answer my question. There was this creature that looks like a ram but stood on his hind legs, standing like a faun. But his head was more animal than human. Oreius said his breed is called a satyr. I hope I don't wake from this dream because it's amazing. I mean, talking animals, centaurs, fauns, nymphs, good dwarves, and more other things from mythology. When I ask Oreius about Minotaur's, faeries, and a few others he looked at me strangely.
"The Minotaur's side with the White witch," He explained. "Their leader is General Otmin."
"Oh…what about fairies or leprechaun?" I asked.
Oreius stared at me once more like some mad child. Maybe not all mythical creatures exist here in Narnia. Oh well, the people are wonderful. Just as Oreius was going to show me the talking animals there was a blast of a horn. Everybody stop listening closely to the noise. I paused it didn't sound like the horn cry from before. Another wave of the horn came in desperation.
My eyes widen, I remember that sound. Susan tested her horn once after Father Christmas gave it to her. "Susan!"
Oreius saw the desperation on my face and lifted me on his back and run over to the river where the girls are. When we got to the river I saw Agnes, Lucy, and Susan hanging from a tree while two wolves try to bite them. Susan desperately tried to kick her leg up every time the leader wolf tried to bite her. Meanwhile Peter draw his sword keeping the wolves back till Aslan pounced one of them down.
Oreius draw his weapon but Aslan said, "No! Stay your weapons. This is Peter's battle."
Peter nodded as he kept his sword of the leader wolf. Maugrim was his name, as the grey wolf circled around him. He looked exhausted, limping a little. Maybe the incident at the waterfall caused this. Anyway, Maugrim began to taunt just as before.
"You may think you're a king," the wolf said. "But you're going to die...like a dog!"
Instantly Maugrim jumped pausing on Peter. There was a yelp as the two collapsed on the ground. The girls called out for his names receiving no response. Instantly they jumped down running over to him. I got off and ran over just in time to find Peter alive. Maugrim on the other hand wasn't so fortunate for the blade pierced his heart. The Pevensies hugged Peter while I hugged Agnes glad she was okay. She hugged me back with much vigor guessing she was glad to find me alive and safe. I squeeze tighter glad she was safe.
"After him," Aslan ordered, letting the second wolf run with his tail between his legs. "He'll lead you to Edmund."
Oreius nodded as he and others chased after the wolf. Hopefully they return with Edmund, after a few minutes in absorbing the aftershock, Aslan cleared his throat.
"Peter," he said. "Clean your sword."
Peter nodded as he wiped his sword on the grass then walked over to Aslan wondering what will happen. Aslan gestured him to kneel while holding his sword. Seeing this my eyes widen thinking Peter was going to be knighted. Placing a paw on Peter's shoulder and breathing into his face, Aslan nodded in approval.
"Rise, Sir Peter Wolf's-bane, Knight of Narnia."

Agnes POV
"Thank you for saving me and your sisters," I said to Peter after his knighting.
"No problem," Peter replied.
I nodded, not sure what else to say. Peter and I weren't close in the beginning when we got to the country side. He seemed to keep his family happy and distracted while acting like a man instead of his age. As I took care of Henry and read a lot. So we hardly speak though since coming to Narnia we have exchanged a few sentences if not agree on certain decision. Before I could say anything else, Aslan called my name. So saying goodbye, I walked over to Aslan along with my brother.
"I believe it's time you understand why you're here," Aslan said. "Walk with me."
We walk along side with Aslan to who knows where. He gestured to the hill near the rocky ridge viewing the castle. The castle looked lovely. That must be Care Paravel where the throne thrones will be. At least that is what Mr. Beaver said. We reached an isolated area staring into the late afternoon, when the sun started to descend.
"That is Cair Paravel, the castle of the four thrones. Once ruled by the previous king and Queen," Aslan said.
"Sir, may I speak?" I asked.
Aslan simply nodded.
"Why are Henry and I here? The prophesy states that two sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve shall be the next rulers. So it's obvious that the Pevensie shall be but why are we here?'
"You hold many questions and I shall answer as many as I can," he said.
"So why are we here?" Henry asked.
"Look at your quiver and sheath, what is the animal crest." Aslan gestured.
Henry and I examine our weapons to analyze the wing horse. It was complete opposite from the Pevensies lion mascot. The Lion representing Aslan…but what does the winged horse represent, another country?
"Pegasus," Henry guessed.
The lion chuckled, "The Mythology you know from your world is different from Narnia's. On your weapons cases is the first king of Narnia's crest. King Frank I."
The name Frank sound familiar but I can't recall where I heard it before. It was a name granny Catelyn told us when little before passing away. But who is Frank, bloody hell, tis been forever since hearing the name.
"Agnes, didn't granny said she had an older brother name, Frank?" Henry asked. "
"Yes, she did," Memory struck me. "He and his wife Helen disappeared. Our family thought they left for Europe or America without telling anybody."
"It' wasn't Europe or America they went to." Aslan pointed out.
"Sir, are you inquiring our grand uncle Frank was King of Narnia?" I asked.
The lion nodded as he stared out to the castle. So that is why Henry and I are welcome to Narnia for we are related to royally. Thinking about it we might be consider Dukes and Duchesses, but that is England who knows how Narnia does their royalty here. The look on Henry's face on the other hand was priceless. Like any kid in a candy store or celebrating his birthdays to see presents. Yet it somewhat bother me in the confusion of where we stand in Narnia. Weren't the Pevensies supposed to rule Narnia also what happen to great granduncle Frank?
Aslan somehow reading my mind started telling the story of how all this came to be with Frank and Helen. The story went with Professor Diggory as a mere boy with his friend Polly Plummer encountering Jadis in the land of Charn. Later on they encounter our Great uncle Frank with Jadis on top of his cab with Strawberry the horse causing a fight. When they were transported to Narnia to seeing the birth of Narnia, Aslan made Frank king while transporting Helen here to join him. Yet Strawberry (now name Fledge) grew wings and could talk in Narnia. After hearing the story, we learned of our heritage in the country of Archenland descended from Frank I.
"So our place here is to connect peace between the two countries of Narnia and Archenland," I summed up.
Aslan nodded. "A precaution so when this war is over that no feuds begin. I want my family safe, all of them."
Henry nodded as he looked up ahead to see where our Uncle Frank once ruled. He asked Aslan many questions which he answers the best he could teach us about Narnia. When the sun was close to set Aslan paused and looked at the braces of the young boy's legs. Before Henry could start explaining what they are used for, the lion breathed down his spine. Suddenly Henry gasped as his posture became a bit straighter.
"My back…" Henry started.
"Now straight as an arrow," Aslan assured. "You no longer need those braces."
Henry eyes widen as he looked at me beaming. I couldn't help but smile, Beaver said Aslan was a miracle creature. Never have thought he could perform that type of miracles. Narnia sure hold a lot of surprises when you least expect it.
