Chapter 15: The coronation.

"For heaven's sake Henry, hold still." I told Henry who struggle to stand still as I groom his ruffle ginger hair. All morning it was like another battle field of the same war I and my parents deal with. Getting an energetic boy prepare for special event.

"Come on Agnes, do I have to wear this?" Henry pouted.

He stood there wearing a green embroidered tunic as the pattern sewn by bronze thread. Brown pants, and leather boots. He look quite dashing, just needs to fix his hair. Once his crazy hair is maintained, I handed him his medallion of a winged horse. It seems the winged horse has become our family mascot. These past few days the once little boy has grown into the next stage of being a man.

"What?" Henry asked confused.

"Henry . . . can you do me a favor?" I replied.

"Um sure," he said confused.

"Don't grow up to fast." I said then messed his hair.

"Hey!" he cried.

"Hay is for horses," I chuckled.

We stood there both laughing. Cypress came into the room just in time to remind us that the coronation shall start soon. We both nodded and headed to the Throne room where the coronation shall be set. All the centaurs lined up holding their swords while the fauns stood in between them with banners as the others stood or sat waiting patiently.

This morning was hectic for the final arrangement for today's event. When having breakfast with the Pevensies, Lucy could hardly sit still nor Edmund. Susan said she had butterflies fluttering in her stomach. As for Peter he seems more nervous than organizing battle plans. Fortunately Aslan assured them that there is no fear for today's event. Who knew words from a lion can calm four children so easily.

Anyway, Henry and I stood in our position standing next to Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, along with Mr. Tumnus. The Beavers wore embroidery tunic, holding two plush pillows with the royal crowns. Two crowns one gold and the other silver for the boys. As for the girls they had circlets, similar to a roman wreath, but instead of leaves, the two are forge into flowers, one gold and the other silver. Mr. Tumnus who look much better stood there happily wearing a velvety deep forest green scarf trimmed in silver with a golden lion stitch on the end.

"Oh my, you two look dashing." Mrs. Beaver complimented. "Henry, you look so mature…ooh but let me fix that hair."

"Leave the poor lad alone," Mr. Beaver said.

"Says the one who struggle on taking a bath last night." She chastises.

"And it wasn't even bath day," he muttered shuddering involuntarily.

Henry chuckled for the poor creature. Though Mrs. Beaver was only trying to make a good impression for an important event. A new reign for Narnia since the White Witch's eternal winter. How spring melted the hundred years of winter. All it took were two innocent children playing hide and seek with their older siblings.

Soon the horns blared announcing the coronation ceremony is about to begin. Everyone rise to attention, swords draw and watched the Aslan and the Pevensie enter the throne room. All were ecstatic with smile on their faces. Aslan stood between Peter and Susan as the younger sibling walk beside them. Once they reached the steps, the Pevensie separate and walked to their assign chairs facing everyone of Narnia.

"To the glistening Eastern Sea, I give you Queen Lucy the Valiant." Aslan pronounced proudly. Mr. and Mrs. Beaver walked over to them follow by Mr. Tumnus. The faun picked up the silver circlet and gently placed it on Lucy head.

"To the great Western Woods, King Edmund the Just." Aslan continued as Edmund receives his silver crown.

"To the radiant Southern Sun, Queen Susan, the gentle. "He said and finally said with much pride than a lion could hold. "And to the clear Northern Sky, I give you King Peter, the Magnificent."

The Pevensies bow to Aslan and took their seats on the thrones. Aslan turned around and faced them, "Once a King or Queen of Narnia, always a King or Queen of Narnia. May your wisdom grace us until the stars raid down from the heavens?"

"Long live King Peter!" Everyone cheered. "Long live King Edmund! Long live Queen Susan! Long live Queen Lucy!"

All cheered as Henry and I applauded to our friends, the rightful rulers of Narnia. Lucy couldn't stop smiling as did the others on this wondrous occasion. Once the ceremony was complete the reception took place to a grand feast. Aslan walked over to Henry and me:

"May you two accompany me for a moment?" he asked.

Henry and I nodded as we follow him to the back of the Great Hall were a few people. One man in general wearing a decorative yellow tunic, with a green sash stood out on color. He was slightly bit obese, and the atmosphere seemed jolly has his moustache dangle the side of his face and eyebrow mildly bushy.

"Awe, Aslan thank you for your notice of Narnia new Golden Age!" the man said.

"Likewise, King Lune." Aslan said.

"And who are these children you bring?" King Lune asked.

"Lune, may I introduce you to Lady Agnes and Lord Henry Cleves. They a kin to your ancestor the Late King Frank I."

King Lune laughed happily if not a hint of disbelieve. "Is that so?"

"Apparently so, your grace," I said. "King Frank I was the brother to our granny."

"It's true, granny talked constantly about her missing brother before she died and gone to heaven." Henry added.

"Well, I shall not be harsh and mock a woman's grave." The king said. "It is an honor to meet kin from the other lands. I am King Lune, ruler of Archenland."

"The honor is our," I said with a curtsy.

"I hope this reunion shall join Archenland and Narnia once more." Aslan said.

King Lune nodded in agreement. "Blood is blood."

"I heard your wife has given birth." Aslan said.

"Aw, you and your wonders Aslan. Yes, my love has given birth to two splendid twins: Prince Cor and Prince Corin. I hope you come and baptize them." The king insisted.

Aslan stood there deep in thought and walked away not giving the man an answered. King Lune sighed and started a conversation. Lune is a kind and jolly man indeed as he talks about Archenland deliberant we come and see his home as soon as we can. Sometime in the discussion Lucy barge in taking Henry does hand want to have a dance with him. Henry was going to protest by the young queen whisked him away to the dance floor. King Lune laughed and offers a dance. I generously accepted as we waltz on the dance floor.

The man is truly jolly. Even with a misstep or trip and he would laugh it off with no humiliation. We dance to several Narnian songs before Peter joined in.

"May I?" he asked.

"Of course your majesty," King Lune said with a bow letting Peter join in.

A Narnian waltz began and we dance to the music.

"Thought you need some rescuing." Peter chuckled.

"He is just a jolly man," I said.

Peter chuckled as we dance to a new culture.

It was a bit awkward since the Narnian waltz is a mix of a waltz and quadrille. Luckily we manage to keep up to the rhythm and pace of the music. When it came to the finale, Peter put his hands on my waist and lifted me up a little for a slight spin. When he settle me down there was blush on his cheek and mine as well. This would be the first time we ever gotten this close since we met on the train.

"Thank you for the dance." I said.

"Um . . . yeah, you're welcome." He said.

Well, only the future knows what is going to happen in the future.

Henry's POV

Lucy and I dance a lot since she drags me to the dance floor. For a girl she has a lot of strength for somebody her size. During the dance we notice Peter dancing with Agnes. Lucy giggled and talked about her plan to get our older siblings to get together. I gave her a disgusted look. I have no plans in getting in my sister love life. Nor do I want to see her with some guy and kissing face like dad does with mum.

"Why not?" Lucy asked.

"She's my sister." I whined.

Susan came over and heard our conversation. "You never know, they might get together. Also you two might get married as well."

"Yuk," I said.

"Ewe!" Lucy added.

"I can't marry her, she's my friend." I said.

"It would be so weird." Lucy agreed.

Susan chuckled, "Then you two better stop meddling into people affairs then. Or I might arrange a betrothal between the two of you."

I look at Susan in sheer horror. I can't possible think of the thought of marrying Lucy. I'm only nine! Lucy grabbed my hand and started running to escape her sister embarrassing talk. You can easily hear the older girl laughing her heart out along with some of the Narnians. Once out of ear shot we ran to the balcony to see it was getting close to sunset. The mermaids were jumping over the water waving before they return to the ocean.

Down along the beaches was Aslan walking toward the south not looking back. Where is he going? He didn't even say goodbye? Lucy had the same thought wondering if we should go after him.

"Don't worry," Mr. Tumnus said out of nowhere. "We'll see him again."

"When will he come back?" I asked.

"In time," Mr. Tumnus answered, as he walked over and stood between us. "One day he'll be here and the next he won't. But you mustn't press him. After all, he's not a tame lion."

"No," Lucy agreed. "But he is good."

Mr. Tumnus as he open his scarf from the inner pocket to pull out a hanky that had a cursive L on it. "Here," he said handing it to Lucy. "You need it more than I do."

We both giggle slightly and held hands as we all watch the sunset.

A new start for Narnia indeed.

So what do you guys think? I might do one more chapter and finish the story. Also I'm considering doing Prince Caspian. Now I got to scavenge and find the DVD somewhere. I might do a short story of the Golden age in how the characters got together. To those who don't know, King Lune in the king of Archenland known in "The horse and his boy" to those who are wondering.

Thanks for reading and please leave a review.
