Chapter 20 My Farfetched adventure

"Please ma'am won't you help me?" He begged. It was really hard to say no to him.

"All right what do you need me to do?" I sighed.

"My father's Farfetch'd left our house while I was in the middle of making charcoal." This must be the Charcoal kiln everyone hears about. "Please help me or my father will never trust me with the business."

I couldn't help but to feel pity for him so what was I to do? Say no. "All right I guess I can help you. Where do you think they went?"

"The Ilex forest." No! not the forest! I hated to go in there but it was too late. I had already accepted.

"Then let's go." I replied.

"Are you crazy? I'm not going in there!" He chuckled. "You can go in there all by yourself. All you have to do is lure them and then catch them. There are three of them." Three of them? He must not of cared. How could you lose three Farfetch'd they are not that unnoticeable. In fact they are quite rare.

I ventured into the forest hoping that they would just waltz up to me and I could catch them easily. But no one was there not even a Caterpie or a Metapod. "Ouch! What hit me?" I asked myself I saw the pinecone that was thrust at me. "Who threw that?" I looked around to see one of the Farfetch'd.

It laughed at me gloatingly as I tried to sneak up on it. It was time I used a different approach. I went around the pokemon and accidently found myself stepping on a set of branches. It moved farther away from me. I growled in frustration. "Come here you rat!" I exclaimed at the pokemon. Yes I was aware that they were more like ducks than rats but all the same they were acting like rats.

Then I got an idea. The Farfetch'd wouldn't see me coming. I went around the path and came to a screeching halt. There was a pile of sticks piled up right in front of me. That would surely have gained the attention of the pokemon. This was much more difficult then I thought. Wait! Why couldn't I just jump over? It was worth the try.

Farfetch'd never saw me coming nor did the pile of sticks and twigs stop me. But what did was a rock that I so happened to trip over. Farfetch'd didn't run away but laughed so hard it was rolling on the floor. I took the opportunity to catch the pokemon in my arms. It protested against being picked up but I ignored it and carried it back to the boy.

"There's two more." He stated. How could he be ungrateful? I just saved his bacon or at least lessened it. "Hurry and go find them." He pushed me back towards the forest.

If I were two Farfetch'd where would I go? I searched high and low for the pokemon but to no avail did I find them. They found me. A pinecone that was supposed to knock me down grazed me. That got me angry.

"It's on then." I picked up a huge and heavy pinecone at the tree where I thought they were hiding. Out of that tree fell two Farfetch'd. They hit the ground but recovered their poise rather fast. They picked up two pinecones in protest. This eventually turned into a huge pinecone fight. All until we disturbed a sleeping Beedrill.

"Run!" I yelled in terror as it chased after us. Stingers pointed at us I knew it meant to not let us go peacefully. One of the Farfetch'd turned around and used a air slash which knocked the Beedrill out from chasing us. We made it out of the forest shortly after.

"You found them thank you." The boy said almost instantly as I came out of the forest. I couldn't help but wonder what happened to the other Farfetch'd. But it wasn't my business to ask or even know. When the two were in the hands of their trainer they gave me a look as if I made the biggest mistake in their lives. Wait a minute I knew the kiln masters son in school he was a blond! Then who was he?

He must of caught on that I caught on because I turned around to see him right in my face. He easily pinned my left arm behind me and smiled evilly.

"It didn't take you that long to figure it out did it?" He growled.

"You were going to kidnap these pokemon and sell them because of their high price weren't you." I prodded he laughed evilly.

"Yes our boss will need all the help he can get."

"Boss? What are you talking about?"

"Just that selling each one of these pocket monsters will help support the outfit."

"Who are you guys?" I demanded.

"You already know." I did? "Wait until we return again to ruin another thing in your life." Why was I that important? He then looked around anxiously. "We've waited long enough. Walk into the forest. Do not try to make a fuss or we'll end it right here." I obeyed in hopes to overtake him in the forest. But surprisingly we took a left turn instead of a right turn in the Ilex forest entrance and found ourselves in the cemetery.

"W-what are we doing in here?" I had my suspicions on what he was going to do to me.

"It's nice and quiet here. Perfect place to wait." Wait for what? Never mind I had to get out of here. But if he twisted my arm easily how would I escape? I thought hard tapping my belt to get even one thought out. "Would you stop that! It's annoying when you tap that belt of yours." My belt had my pokeballs on it. I would fight my way out. But wait my pokemon hadn't healed! Next thing on my agenda was to go and heal.

But I did still have some pokemon with some health. I slowly called out Unown and Weepinbell. "Your still asleep?" I whispered in shock. Unown floated there waiting for orders. "Hidden power." It was easy remembering the attacks of Unown.

"Wha-" The strange man replied as the attack came down like a meteorite. "Fine you want a battle? I'll give you a war." I didn't think you could have a pokemon war that was over the top. "Pinsir." The beetle got ready to attack. "X- Scissor." Did every bug pokemon learn that move?

"Hidden power." I ordered and Unown performed it perfectly.

"Mega horn." The pokemon charged at mine to land the attack. I started to get nervous at this point Unown looked like it wasn't taking hits as well anymore.

"Are you ready for this? Ultimate power out of your grasp." He held a weird metal band on his wrist that is when I noticed that on the horn of the pokemon was the same thing. I recognized right off the bat because I had read it in the books. It was rare to see in a small region like Johto but every now and then we would see one on television. Mega Evolution!

I was in trouble now there was no way I could top that with my pokemon that would taste better in soup. I was defeated even before this began.

"Give up! You've been defeated." He laughed and I saw his crazier side. "What the heck?" I heard him scream as a flamethrower engulfed his pokemon and reversed the effect of the mega evolution as fast as it was created. "It's the police I'm getting outta here." And I watched as he made his retreat leaving the Farfetch'd behind.

"I wonder who attacked him." I replied hoping the mysterious heroes would show themselves. But they were shier than I thought. "Okay I guess we won't be seeing the person that saved me." I walked around the graveyard just a little bit and found something that I had totally forgot about.

Curtis Fields honored war veteran 1973-2002

This was the gravestone of my father. I was very young when he died in a terrible accident on his way home too. I walked around and found a few flowers growing outside the cemetery and place them on the tombstone because there were no other flowers placed on it.

"What day is it?" I tried to remember then it hit me. It was Fathers day. I imagined all the trainers that returned home for this day to spend time with their dads on this day and I was too. Maybe not in the way most people do but it made me feel closer to him. "Happy fathers day Dad."
