Boredom is Blue
Chapter Ten
Makenna's P.O.V
Oh, flaming flamey flame. Where the hell am I?
Grumbling under my breath, I scan the darkness, looking for my comrades. Unfortunately, they've disappeared. Not that I liked them particularly much, but it's rather scary being in a town you don't know. On your own. In the dark. With Amazon killers running about. Amazon killers so silent you can't hear them coming, Amazon killers so efficient no bodies are found.
So, yeah, I'm just a little bit terrified.
Jeez, where could they have gotten to? How do you lose a group of five rowdy Amazons? All I did was stop and smell the flowers. Typical. Man, I wish Nya was here. Smiling despite of myself, I allow myself to think about my new friend. Not in a lezzie way, mind you. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But, she's got a boyfriend that she's obviously in love with. Not that that would matter, if I was really interested in her. She wouldn't be able to resist my charms, slow wink. Look, I'm straight, okay?
Where the hell was I? Oh, yeah. Nya's my friend, in a purely platonic way, I assure you. I miss her. Strange, I feel closer to her in just a few days, than I ever did with any of my "sisters", some of which I've known for years.
I really hope she's not just using me to escape, her being a prisoner and all that. Then, I'd have to kill her, and I really don't want to do that to the first real friend I've had in a long time. And, if she's legit, she could introduce me to those dreamy ninja men. Oh yeah, I've sought many a story about them, as I find them fascinating, and have come to the conclusion that they must all be ridiculously attractive. So attractive that your intelligence melts away into nothingness when you see just one of them. So attractive that your brain explodes into dazzling fireworks of disbelieving admiration if you were fortunate enough to see all of them in a room together.
Yeah, I'm absolutely positive that they're that sexy. I mean, they'd have to be. Considering how beautiful Nya is, with her silky, sleek hair and really petite frame, somehow still managing to have curves, the bitch. And I mean that in the fondest way. Therefore, with genes like that, it stands to logic that Kai's breathtaking. And for Jay to be able to be with her, and not feel out of his league, he's no doubt mind numbingly hot. From what I've heard from Nya, he certainly is.
Cole is the strongest man in Ninjago, so it stands to reason that he's more ripped than a Greek god. Probably completely drool worthy, with the shaggy, black ink hair and bright green eyes. Lloyd, truthfully, doesn't really do it for me, but I'm sure with his surfer boy looks, posters of him cover many a girls' wall. Zane, oh Zane. I've had dreams about that one. If the rumours are true, then he's a Nindroid. Therefore, someone created him. And if you were to build a robot to look human, wouldn't you make them as handsome as possible? I know I would.
While I've been fantasising about the Ninja (except, Jay, I promise, Nya) I've become even more completely and utterly lost, if that were even possible. I haven't the faintest clue where I am, so I have no way to find my way back to the base. Shit, this is why I was taken of patrol duty in the first place! I'm a disastrous combination of absent-minded and no sense of direction. I always get sucked into my thoughts and get lost both in my head, and in the real world, too. I should have to wear a leash. I'm sure that'll turn some guy on, slow wink number two.
No, I really should stop thinking about guys. You are an Amazon, Makenna. You have forsaken (sob) men, so you could look after Kit. By God, when I get my hands on that girl! Focus, Makenna Devereux; you can do this biz. You can get back to base and have a nice long chat with Nya about my fun little adventure. Yosh! That's the plan!
Not sure why I've started to get a little bilingual, I march determinedly toward where I think the town centre is located in this small town. However, I'm wrong, I discover as I find myself in a particularly dark alley way. Goodness gracious, where the fuck am I now?!
This isn't a good place to be. In the dark, with Amazon killers about. It's cold, too. I shiver a little, wandering further into the murky alley. I stumble into something, something large and almost warm. Holy shit, it's a body!
Crouching down, I turn the body. A man, about 30 years old. He was beaten with a knuckle duster, from the look of his wounds. Who the fuck uses knuckle dusters?! Oh, Frances. That bitch Amazon, she was on patrol with me. Why'd she do this, I do not know. She's always been psycho, but to beat up an unarmed man, probably unprovoked, is a little too crazy. She shouldn't get away with this. I tap the man gently on the cheek, trying to wake him without using too much force. He groans quietly, crunching his eyes, but he doesn't wake. Sighing, but really averse to shaking him awake while I have no idea about the extent of his injuries, I decide to call to him.
"Mister? Hello?" He just groans a little more.
"Sorry, sir, but you have to wake up now." Still no sign of consciousness.
"Okay, shithead, you have to wake up now, or you'll die! Do you want to fucking die?" My patience is nonexistent, if you hadn't already guessed.
Finally, the man wakes up, first looking up at me in confusion, but then his eyes widen in fear and pain.
"Stay away from me, Amazon!" He cries as loud as he could, which wasn't actually very loud.
"I know an Amazon beat you up. I'm sorry about that. But I'm not here to hurt you. I want to help. Do you think you can stand?"
Still not trusting me, he slowly nods. I try to smile reassuringly and pull his arm around my shoulders. Gently lifting him to his feet, I take most of his weight as we shuffle back to the street.
"Look, man, I have a terrible sense of direction, so you're going to have to tell me the way to the clinic."
A brush of air was my only warning as someone lands softly behind me and takes the man from me. "That will not be necessary," a manly, yet melodic, voice says. Yet another shadow lands in front of me and strolls into the glow of the street light above me. He was dressed in blue and black, his face and hair covered in a cowl. I could only see his eyes, which gleamed fiery blue, with his eyebrows drawn down, hard and angry.
Oh my fucking God, it's a Ninja! From Nya's descriptions, I know that the one in front of me must be Jay, and is therefore off limits. What do I mean, off limits? All of them are, I'm an Amazon. Remember that, Makenna. And this Ninja really doesn't look happy. Oh, well, duh. His girlfriend was kidnapped, and it was my kind that took her. He's probably the one that's going around killing us. So does that mean he's going to kill me?
Hell no!
I have no idea who the Ninja behind me is, but he's completely taken the injured man off my hands.
"I didn't do that, I swear. I was trying to get him to help."
"Sure, sure," Jay says, tone sarcastic. "Because Amazons just love to help people, especially men."
"I promise, it wasn't me. I found him like that, when I got separated from my group."
"Oh, so you were part of the patrol we just rounded up, the ones that were doing a lot more terrorising than they were patrolling."
I sigh; Jay's already poisoned against me and isn't going to believe a word I say. Not that I blame him, frankly. It still wouldn't be a good idea to me rude to the Ninja, though. I honestly hate being an Amazon. I wish I could join them, but then how would I be able to find Kit?
"I'm sorry for what happened to the man, but I really had no part in it. I got lost; I have a terrible sense of direction, and just happened to stumble across him, literally. I'm still very sorry. I hope you caught Frances, the bitch that did it to him." Instead of being overwhelmed with understanding at my very pretty and eloquent speech, Jay's eyes scrunch in suspicion. Crap, what secret did I spill?
"If you 'had no part,' than how do you know who did it?" Oooh, that's why he's suspicious, good, I can explain that away.
"Because he was obviously beaten with a knuckle duster, and there was only one woman on patrol that uses knuckle dusters. She's a piece of work, that one."
He nods once, but still looks highly suspicious of me. Fair enough.
"I believe she is telling the truth," the melodic voice says; apparently back from taking the man to the clinic.
"Zane, she's an Amazon; we can't trust her," Jay says, sounding surly. Zane… Zane has the melodic voice. Oh yeah, I'll be dreaming of that later. He has the kind of voice I could listen to for hours. I wish he would stand in front of me and take his cowl off… among other things. No, stop it, Kenzie.
But then I had to go and open my mouth. "Jay, I underst-" I am interrupted by Jay rushing me, gripping the shoulder of my armour and getting all up in my grill.
"How do you know my name?" he growls into my face. Crap. I didn't want to play my get-out-of-jail-free card (friendship with Nya) until I absolutely had to. I feel like I probably have to now. I really shouldn't have said his name.
"W-well, Nya told me about you. About all of you," I explain, tripping over my own tongue. Three more blurs join the crowded circle of lamp light, one black, one red and one green. Cole, Kai and Lloyd.
"You know Nya?!" Kai shouts at me, removing his mask so I can see his face. Oh, good genes alright. The man was smoking (hehe, fire pun). Jay's blue mask was still all up in my personal space, but I could see the tiny flicker of hope hiding in his eyes.
"Yeah, I was on dungeon guard duty before I was put on patrol. Probably to punish me, I guess. I liked Nya; she was smart and didn't cower like other prisoners did. We became friends, and she told me about all of you."
"Jay, leave her alone," the tall, black haired Ninja said. Nya had told me he was the leader. Jay reluctantly lets me go, standing back with the others, except Zane. Zane was still somewhere behind me. Cole looks at me, his face cold. "You said you are friends with Nya, and you seem not to relish in violence like the other Amazons."
"I don't, I swear. I only joined them because my sister did; I had to make sure she was safe. But then, she ran away again without telling me, so I have no idea where she is this time. I'm only staying with the Amazons because I have nowhere else to go. I really don't like the Amazons; the whole group is selfish and greedy. I want to help people."
"I see," a flash of consideration across Cole's face, before it settles on a scheming look. "Nya is one of us, and we will do anything to get her back. If you really do care about her, I'm sure you don't want her to stay in the 'dungeon.'" Cole's voice is so deep!
"No, I don't. I feel bad for her; she hasn't eaten in a while." The Ninja all look worried at that bit of news, except Cole and especially Jay. Cole continues to have his planning face on.
"Listen…what's your name?"
"Makenna, but everyone just calls me Ken."
"Listen, Ken. I'm willing to offer you a deal."
"What kind of deal?"
"If you help us save Nya, we will let you join our team and help you find your sister. But I want all the information you have on the Amazons and the base."
I grin massively, having just received exactly what I wanted. A place to belong, with help to find my sister.
"Deal."

Katy's Note: Hey, guys! I wasn't expecting to write the whole chapter from Ken's point of view, but it just happened and I think it works.
I have an announcement! Finally someone guessed correctly who Ken will be with and the answer is… Zane! I bet a lot of you didn't see that coming. My reasoning is that her personality compliments his; she's feisty, loud and swears too much while he's calm, quiet and always eloquent. I think Ken will help bring her out of his shell.
The winners are Ninjameap and Birthdaypi. The reason there are two winners is that Ninjameap guessed first, with a very good reason, but she also guessed Kai at the same time. Birthdaypi only picked Zane, with a valid reason, but they weren't first. Therefore, I have decided that Ninjameap and Birthdaypi will both send me at least two ideas each for a possible title for Lloyd's story, and I'll make a poll using my favourite two. Then, you guys can pick which one! Yay! Everyone wins!
Now, I know we are all super excited for the new season of Ninjago (could someone please tell me the release date?) but I feel like I have to address a certain issue. There are rumours that Nya is going to fall in love with Cole instead. I was pretty upset when I heard about this, as it could possibly ruin the show for me. But once I thought about, I realised that it's really improbable.
Just think about it, in the pilot, it's Jay that asks about her, hugs her. From the very beginning, the writers put Nya and Jay together. I don't think that they'll just turn around and change it out of nowhere. After all, Nya's favourite colour is blue. So, I won't hold any stock into those rumours.
I don't think that I'll answer any reviews this chapter, sorry. Next chapter, I promise! Just know that every single review makes me smile and motivates me. So, I'm very grateful for every review, favourite and follow.
Thanks guys, for sticking with my story for this long, it means a lot.
