The Impala came to a slow stop outside of Bobby's house. Natalie looked out the window and couldn't shed the relief she felt for finally making it to Bobby's. It had felt like an eternity since she was here, when in reality it was just over a week or so. Sam got out of the car and opened the door for Natalie, taking a hold of her arm and helping her out of the car.
Natalie looked up at Sam, smiling in thanks, but she could still see that his face was written with a pondering expression. Now she was more curious than before. What is bothering him so much? She knew that it had to be something important to consistently nag at his mind. Sam offered Natalie a faint smile, before forcing his gaze away from her. Natalie felt her smile disappear from her face and she looked away from Sam, only to have her eyes attract to a familiar car. She took a better look at it before sighing in realization.
Sam looked down at her with his brows furrowed. "What?"
Natalie motioned over to the car, prompting Sam to turn around and look. "My sister is here."
Sam looked back over at Natalie, his hold on her arm grew slightly tighter, and offered her a reassuring look. "It'll be fine, Nad."
Dean walked over to them, Natalie's bag in his hand, as he looked behind them seeing the car. "Never seen that car before."
"It's Mari." Natalie answered.
Dean looked at her, surprised, and then let out a sigh. "Well, this ought to be interesting."
Natalie scoffed slightly. "Yeah, interesting for you. Not for me."
Dean gently rubbed her back. "Come on, let's get you inside."
Natalie, with the help from Sam, slowly made her way up to the front porch, stopping to wait for Dean to open the front door for them. She stared at the open doorway, mentally preparing herself for whatever Marina had in store for her. With a deep breath, Natalie slowly walked through the doorway, her eyes cautiously scanning the area before fully walking in.
Natalie could feel Sam's hold on her arm loosen slightly as she made her way through the kitchen and stopping before the living room. Bobby and Marina were both sitting at his desk, clearly waiting for the three of them to arrive.
Bobby looked up at Natalie, his face immediately filled with relief. "Hey, Nad."
Marina turned around in her chair, upon seeing Natalie, she stood up and quickly made her way over to her. She gently wrapped her arms around Natalie, which Natalie returned fully. "Nad. It's good to see you're alright." Marina quickly pulled away, her eyes already scolding Natalie. "Nad. There is so much I really want to say about this..."
Natalie sighed and nodded her head. "Yeah I know. Let me just save you the trouble. I made a stupid decision while on this job. Alright?" Natalie walked over to the couch and gently lowered herself down.
"Well, then your stupid decision nearly got you killed, Nad." Marina said.
Natalie sighed tiredly and nodded her head. "Yes, Mari, I know. I've had to listen to that for the past week, coming from Sam, Dean and Bobby."
"And that's another thing." Marina turned around to Sam and Dean. "Why didn't you guys keep a better watch on her?"
"Come on Mari, don't. It's not their fault. If you're going to be pissed at someone, it needs to be me."
Marina sighed, allowing her head to hang back, before looking back at Dean and Sam. "I'm sorry." Sam and Dean both nod their heads in acceptance of her apology, though she didn't have anything to apologize for. Marina finally relented and walked over to the couch, sitting down next to Natalie. "How bad was it, really?"
Natalie smiled slightly, "Um. Pretty bad I guess..."
Marina eyed Natalie warily. "Where did you get shot?"
Natalie sucked in a breath, reaching towards her right side, "Right, here."
Marina reached for Natalie's tank top and lifted the bottom of it, enough to expose the healing wound. Her eyes widened for a moment, before managing to regain her composure. "At least, it's healing properly." Marina pulled the bottom of the tank top back down. Marina couldn't stop herself when she suddenly hit Natalie's arm.
Natalie stared at her sister in surprise, rubbing the sore area on her arm Marina had just created. "Mari! What the hell!"
"Nad! Be more careful next time. Please! Don't just go and make brash decisions! Think through it!" Marina exclaimed.
Natalie let out a breath and began to massage the soreness in her arm. "I know. I'm sorry."
"I swear you are so much like dad and Drew. Always getting yourselves into trouble." Marina said, settling against the couch.
"Guess, I learned from the best then." Natalie responded, a huge grin was written on her lips.
Marina laughed and ran a hand through her hair. "You really did, Nad."
Bobby rolled out from behind his desk, and made his way over to Sam and Dean. "How about the three of us talk? Give these two some time." They both nodded as Dean turned and followed Bobby out of the room. Sam stood in place for a moment, offering Natalie a smile, which she immediately returned, before leaving the room.
Marina had been watching in silence and had seen the little interaction and soon her smile grew faintly. She casually looked over at Natalie, seeing that the smile had not gone away. Marina had seen the look on Natalie's face before, mostly when Natalie was a young teenager.
Natalie could feel her sister staring at her and she gazed over at Marina, seeing the smile on her face. "What?"
Marina looked away and shrugged. "Nothing."
Natalie hummed skeptically. "So, how did Aunt Clara take the news?"
"Better than I did, I can tell you that. The minute I found out, I wanted to drive out to the hospital, but, Aunt Clara made me stay. She told me to give you more time to rest. Plus, Bobby told us both to leave you alone, anyways." Marina shrugged towards the end of her sentence.
"Why didn't she come with you?" Natalie asked, adjusting her position and resting her legs in Marina's lap.
Marina casted her a light glance, resting her hand on one of Natalie's legs. "She is out looking for the demon you and her have been talking about."
Natalie leaned up, "What? Why didn't she tell me? I would have gone with her."
"Nad, don't even think about it. There was no way Aunt Clara was going to let you deal with that." Marina answered. Natalie opened her mouth to argue, when Marina motioned for her to stop. "No, Nad. Don't worry about it. Aunt Clara will take care of it. You just need to focus on getting rest."
Natalie hesitated a few times, debating on whether she should try and get more information about this. Though, the look that her sister gave her, was able to quiet her quite quickly. Natalie let out a defeated sigh. "Fine."
Natalie could feel a gentle shaking coming from her shoulder and it stirred her awake. She sucked in a breath and looked up, seeing Sam looking down at her. She immediately sat up, looking around her, realizing that she had fallen asleep. Natalie rubbed the sleep from her eyes and groaned at her fast movements. "How long was I out?"
"A couple of hours. We decided to just let you sleep." Sam replied.
Natalie blinked her eyes, adjusting to having them open after being asleep for a few hours. She brought her phone from her pocket, gazing at the time. "Thanks for letting me sleep. Didn't realize how tired I was." Natalie let out a long yawn, causing Sam to smile.
"Well, Dean and I are heading out right now."
Natalie looked up at him, her brows furrowing. "Why?"
Sam let out a sigh. "Dean and I got told about a potential case from Bobby. It's up at some Psychiatric ward in Oklahoma."
"Oh." Natalie rubbed the side of her head, pressing her hands against the couch, trying to push herself up to her feet only to fail. Sam walked forward and grabbed hold of her arm, gently pulling her into a standing position. Natalie smiled. "That means I'm gonna have to stay here."
"It's just for a little while Nad. In no time, we'll all be back on the road...going on more hunts." Sam said, trying to make her feel better, at the fact that she had to stay here.
"Yeah. I know." Natalie looked around the room, "Where's Mari?"
"She went to get a few things. For both of you during your stay here." Sam answered.
Natalie nodded. "I will be honest. Her reaction wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Though, I am positive that she has more she wants to say."
"Well, at least, she took it somewhat easy with you." Natalie nodded , her eyes becoming fixed on Sam's.
Dean walked in through the kitchen and quietly walking over to the doorway of the living room, careful to not say anything. He could see the conflict in Sam's eyes, as he kept his gaze on her. Come on Sammy. Dean kept his eyes on them, until Sam's gaze looked over at him. Dean quickly gathered himself and cleared his throat. "Uh, we better get on the road, Sam." He said, making his way over to Natalie and Sam.
Sam gave Dean a look before nodding his head. "Yeah, okay."
Dean looked over at Natalie, "You going to be fine, Nad?"
Natalie shrugged and sighed. "I guess. I mean I can't go anywhere else."
Dean walked forward and pulled her into a hug. "Just hang in there. You'll be back out there in no time" Dean said, gently rubbing her back.
"Can't wait." Natalie responded.
Dean pulled away from the hold, giving Natalie a small smile. "See you soon then." Dean turned around, casting a quick glance over at Sam, before walking out of the living room.
Natalie looked up at Sam as he stood in front of her. "You two be careful."
"You know we always are, Nad." Sam wrapped his arms around her, letting out a sigh as she leaned her head against his chest, her hold on him tightening. He could feel his heart begin to pick up its pace and his mind began to cloud with all of his conflicting thoughts. Calm yourself, Sam.
Sam leaned away, only to press his lips against her forehead, lingering in his position for what felt like forever to both of them. He fully pulled away and looked down at her, "Rest, Nad. Don't do anything crazy to pass the time."
Natalie rolled her eyes and smiled. "I know Sam. You two go and get this job done."
Sam turned around, picked up his bag from the kitchen and looked back at Natalie, "Call us. Either Dean or I, if anything happens."
"I'll be fine, Sam." Natalie assured. Sam nodded, before turning around and walked out of the front door.
Natalie stood in place, a big smile slowly crept on her lips. Now, she couldn't help how actually happy she felt. Sam seemed to have pushed past his isolation towards her and he just seemed like his normal self. She sighed, looking around the room before setting her eyes on her bag near the couch. Walking over, she pulled out her father's journal and gently laid down on the couch. She decided to try and pass this time, to finishing her father's journal. She wasn't going to do anything to big to get rid of her boredom, though she knew that it will eventually drive her nuts.
Yay another chapter, though it's a filler! So, how did you guys like it? We will get some more sister interaction between Mari and Nad, since I love writing scenes with them together. Don't forget to write me a review! Xx
