Frater Caelum: Chapter 18
Distant Future
He gasped, sitting up and sending papers and empty coffee cups flying.
"Good morning sleepy head." A soft voice mumbled, teasing as the brunet groaned, rubbing his eyes. "Have a nice nap?"
No, he wanted to growl but knew even trying to argue would create a never ending cycle. He had been attached to this guy for ten years. He knew how the blonde thought.
"Why'd you wake me?" The brunet mumbled, tossing off his covers to glower at the other male. He messed with his messy hair before yawning into his hand.
"You honestly don't remember? Tch, you know who would be mad to hear that."
"No he won't so get on with it before I go to sleep again." With the threat in the air the blonde tossed him a book.
"Ten years ago, was the day we vanquished evil and made history we-!"
"What do you want me for?"
The blonde grinned, expecting the interruption. "Maybe getting dressed and presentable. We have a few more hours until show time. Lambo is working on his side of everything."
The brunet flipped the pages of the book and smiled softly. "Ah, I remember now. How long do we have till the switch?"
The blonde lifted his wrist, reading the time carefully. "About three or so hours. Are you going to stay here or..?"
The brunet got up, stretching his arms while smirking lightly. "He's out on a task, can't bother him while he's out so I'm probably going to stay here. Sleep again." The blonde rolled his eyes moving back and messing with his collar.
"You have gotten lazier over the years, I've also gotten better at dodging your quick attacks when you wake up, neh, Tsuna?"
Tsuna looked up with a smile to the blonde and laughed. "I've trained you well... Ieyasu."
Present time
He dodged the sharp blade, crouching before countering with his own blade. He grit his teeth in frustration when he couldn't push the violent man back. The white haired male grinned like an animal, capturing the young swordsman in a moment of shock. If he didn't get the upper hand he was going to die. He jumped, deflecting the others blade as he gained ground between them.
His arm stung from the wound he received as he took in a deep breath. This 'game' he was in was dangerous. Just like how Gokudera had said.
'If you can't dedicate yourself to Ieyasu, then get out of here!'
The words echoed in Takeshi's brain as he clenched the blade tightly. He was going to be there for Ieyasu. For Caelum. As he got ready for another round, with more determination something stirred in his gut. Something wasn't right with this man. "VOOOOOOI! LETS GO BRAT!" Wiping sweat from his eye Takeshi grinned and met blades with him.
"Ushishishi~"
If he had to hear another stupid laugh he would grind the whole building into The ground! It was so damn annoying! The silver haired teen stood up, dodging the knife flying towards him as he tossed another stick of dynamite to the blonde, watching with anger as the top was sliced off and he had to dodge the next blade by jumping into the next room. He knew at this rate he'd get screwed. He was pretty sure they put his fight inside a building to tick him off.
He didn't work well in contained areas. There was a rare moment of silence as an explosion sounded elsewhere, heightening Gokudera's awareness as he knew where that came from. The five year olds battle. Shit. He was going to check on him. He might have hated the pesky child but he wouldn't let the boy get killed by a ruthless assassination group so soon in his life.
Plus, he'd do anything to lessen the panicked look in his bosses eyes when he was told about that little piece of information. Ieyasu was busy with Xanxus so he had to hurry up and get moving. Before he could move another step a 'tch' was heard.
"Mammon is getting emotional..."
Mammon?
"EXTREME!"
"Ohohohoho!"
The cries tearing from the middle court yard would make anyone squeamish. Ryohei grinned from ear to ear, fists raised at the flamboyant man in front of him.
"It's been awhile since I got this serious." The varia guardian claimed, resting a hand on his hip.
"Then don't put your fists down." Ryohei said with a grin. The sun guardian could feel him power up, he wanted to finish the varia off quickly. Ieyasu needed help. Lambo needed help. If ryohei didn't clean up the floor with him, he'd get the kids hurt.
With a grin he jumped at the man.
"This could get messy." Lal muttered, arms crossed and staring at the screens the crevello were showing them. Reborn didn't answer, analyzing the battle from the corner of the cage they were in.
"Kyoya hasn't shown up yet." Dino muttered. Inside the cage, Colonello, Lal, Dino, Shamel, And Romero watched the screens anxiously. Reborn had tilted his fedora downwards, arms crossed squarely over his broad chest as he looked up towards the screen again. Ieyasu was barely holding off with Xanxus, missing at least almost every hit. At the beginning the blonde had been on top of Xanxus, managing to see through different attacks. His intuition was developing quickly and was shown in the fight, but even Reborn knew it was going no where.
Something wasn't right. He hated having that kind of a gut feeling. Not to mention he had no idea where Tsuna was, and god fuck it all, it was worrying. He leaned off the cage, staring up at the monitors before something caught his eye. The gym!
"Lal, Colonello, the mist fight. Chrome and Mammon."
The other Arocbaleno joined him, noticing the serious tint to Reborn's voice. Mammon looked delicate, the two fighting obvious illusions. But Reborn had known the other female for along time. There was distaste in her expression, downright hatred at the vongola illusionist.
"You think it's because of Ieyasu and Tsuna?" Lal whispered as Colonello squinted his eyes as well. The youngest male suddenly went rigid.
"Shit. Mammon didn't..."
Reborn turned to him, inspecting the frozen look on the blonde before looking up himself. Chrome broke through Mammons defense, screaming something to the other female.
Then... Mammon snapped.
It was felt throughout the other fights. Mainly because each of the vongola fighters stopped moving, staring at the place of their enemy. An enemy that was completely unscathed.
"Mammon used an illusion! That cheat! The kids are gonna get killed."
No. Hell no. Reborn grit his teeth in frustration. They played dirty. Using a skilled illusionist to insure their success. Get the opponents tired and then kill them. That was dirty. Reborn went for Leon. He didn't care at this moment, Mammon betrayed her promise to them and this was a matter between his family. She let her emotions get to her and Reborn would be sure to set her straight. Tsuna would be pissed either way. The others shared his view as they got ready to bust out of the cage.
Until they froze...
"W-What?" Lal muttered, her figure trembling as she fell to her knees. Reborn held himself up by a side of the cage. It alerted the other three with them. Nothing made the worlds strongest just fall. Reborn glared, feeling his own body try to give up on him.
"We're sorry. Arcobaleno aren't allowed to get involved in this fight. I advise you stay seated and we'll stop the radiation."
R-Radiation?! What the fuck was that?! He glared at them fiercely.
"T-That's not fair!" Dino stated, about to respond until he stopped, eyes wide. Standing on the gate was a figure, clad in black with a hood covering his face. Beside him was a group of certain individuals that even Reborn knew was no normal coincidence.
"Tsuna!" He muttered, seeing the gaze stop on him before the group jumped into the school, not adhering to the crevello sisters rules.
Damn! Why did he always have to be right?! Tsuna jumped down from another building, taking off in a run. The other group members headed their own ways as Tsuna hurried his pace. His cloak flapped against the wind as he took in deep breaths. A drip of sweat dribbled down his chin as his jaw clenched in distaste. Like hell was he going to let Xanxus get away with using a dirty method to win.
Mammon... He swallowed thickly. Mammon had given into Xanxus. Allowed Xanxus to use her powers. He was glad the charade was dropped but it spelled trouble for the exhausted guardians and Lambo, who he hoped wasn't hurt. But that wasn't the only reason.
Something was wrong with Reborn. The worlds greatest hitman doesn't use a cage for support, not to mention Colonello was on his knees. They hurt his family, screw it all. If Ieyasu was hurt, if something happened to Reborn there wasn't going to be any room for pity, sympathy, maybe even mercy. Though he knew a small piece of him couldn't do it, but he was mad. They threatened the very sole reason he existed. The sole reason he was alive, that amounted to something!
Making a sharp turn Tsuna caught sight of something flying his way. He cursed under his breath, holding his ground as the person rammed into him at full force.
"Gah!"
With a tumble the two males were tossed across the school court yard, however Tsuna had enough of a grip to hear a small cry from the one in his grasp. Ieyasu had narrowed orange eyes, sky flames dancing brightly on his forehead as Tsuna realized why the blonde had screamed. In his grasp was a shoulder, a bloodied shoulder obviously done by Xanxus's flames.
"Caelum? You broke the rules." Ieyasu said calmly, under the influence of the dying will mode.
"Don't care. Can you move?" Tsuna's voice was tight, not leaving any kind of argument. Ieyasu caught on rather quickly as the blonde got up, stumbling slight. His black gloves, drenched in blood was seen as Tsuna felt his own hands tremble.
"I can do this. The others need me... And I want to teach him a lesson." The blonde growled, making Tsuna bite his bottom lip. Getting to his feet, the assassin clenched his hands into fists, black material stretching against the tightening of muscles.
"I'm here. He broke rules and a member of my family was hurt." He wasn't sure if he was speaking about Reborn or Ieyasu but he didn't care. Xanxus came into view, dark glare in his red eyes. The varia leader clenched his fingers against the gun, pointing it to the two teenagers as Tsuna felt his own sky flames light up. Two flame users against another.
"Thank you, Caelum."
As if in perfect sync, the teens moved, dodging the lightening fast pull of the trigger by Xanxus. Tapping his feet on the floor for a second, Tsuna jumped, catching one of Xanxus guns in his hands. Ieyasu having done the same got Xanxus tied up. With the teens staring up with twin orange eyes to the varia leader, Xanxus cursed, activating flames and forcing them back. Tsuna wiped the side of his mouth, a small smirk curving on his face.
"I believe we have a chance." Ieyasu stated for the both of them as Tsuna nodded. "We can do this."
And they attacked.
"Hahaha! You do have an amazing voice!"
Takeshi stared in wonder. Hands on his knees, brown eyes staring at the older Yamamoto fighting against the varia member. Squalo growled deeply, having trouble deflecting the blade from Asari Yamamoto.
"I didn't know the famous Asari Ugetsu still tied himself to family members." Squalo stated, voice deep. Takeshi was amazed, having never heard the other talk in such a way. It was obvious there was a mutual respect between the two.
"I believe family makes you stronger." With a grunt, Asari shoved the white haired male back, smirk on his young features.
Squalo snorted, wiping his face with his free hand. He pointed his blade to the older Yamamoto brother, "You're wishy-washy but a strong swordsman. I respect that, that's why I have to kill you here."
With more deadly intent Squalo jumped, blade covered in a blue flame.
"Asari!" Takeshi screamed, heart squeezing in fear. His brother shouldn't die because he wasn't strong enough. Wasn't strong enough... However Asari only smiled, blade raised to meet Squalo's. The minute their blades touched the blue flames exploded, sending the shark man flying black as Asari slashed his blade professionally, flames disappearing.
"I'm Asari Ugetsu. Natural born assassin, known as the swordsman able to use the perfect rain flames. How did you think you stood a chance, varia guardian?"
The look in the Yamamoto brother was older, wiser. Takeshi had never seen that look before and it chilled him down to the bone. When was his brother so... So cool! He knew he should be fearful but his brother was amazing.
"Get up. We fight till you understand to not mess with the Vongola, and with my family." A laugh was heard from the rubble, before Squalo got to his feet, wiping blood from his brow.
"This got interesting! YEAAAAAH!"
"I don't need you here!"
"You were getting your ass kicked brat! Accept the help!"
"Never you Octopus tattoo bastard!"
"Octopus?! We have the same hairstyle, you moron!"
G screamed, slapping a hand on his face at his younger brothers responses. He ignored the yelling from the silver haired boy as he glared at the varia member. Pistol in hand he faced the blonde who was laughing his ass off.
"You amuse me, boy~" Belphegor spit out blood from his mouth where G had gotten the idiot.
"Hayato, play close attention. I got something to show you to protect that boss of yours." This silenced the younger brother as G loaded his gun, carefully aiming it at the Varia storm guardian who was pulling out the knifes on the barely visible wires. A wire cut into G's cheek, but it didn't matter. He pulled the trigger, watching in amusement as all the wires lit up in red dark flames, knifes fell to floor, absolutely useless.
"I expect you to realize how I did that in a week." With both younger teenagers caught of guard, G kicked off the ground, satisfied when he punched the blondes face in.
...
"Impressive."
"Hn."
The skylarks viewed each other in curiosity, Alaude at the damage Kyoya had done to the cloud Varia guardian and Kyoya at the fact Alaude had made an appearance.
"Why'd you come?"
"I have trouble makers to pick up. You're welcome to join me in cleaning up this school."
Kyoya smirked, arms crossing over his chest as the tonfas were put away safely.
"Very well. They need to be taught a lesson anyway. This school is off limits after all."
Alaude smirked to himself, turning from his younger brother to go out into the grounds. With that the skylarks continued on their own, in silence.
"But I'm a priest?!"
"Hmm~ I don't mind. Save me, father!"
Knuckle placed a hand over his face, in a sort of embarrassment.
Why was that? A certain Flamboyant, very feminine, male, was hitting on him.
Lusseria swayed his hips, bending down and puffing out his cheeks. "Come on, father. You can do this for little old me~"
"This is extremely awkward!" Ryohei cried from behind Knuckle, pointing out the obvious as Knuckle sighed.
The Priest raised his fists. "I shall be punishing you then! For hurting innocents with no proper reason!"
Lusseria looked up, a gleam in his glasses. "Oh, don't worry father. I have reasons, such as the reasons I'm going to make you beg for your life."
More his style, Knuckle ditched his priest hood to attack the gay man.
Chrome clutched the trident against her chest as someone pulled her into their arms. "Hello Chrome." A smooth voice replied. Chrome's purple iris stared up at her uncles face, mouth opened in a small 'o'. "Uncle D-Daemon?!"
However the attention wasn't on her anymore, Daemons deep blue eyes glared at the female on the other side of the gym. Chrome coughed, holding her side as Daemon smiled, looking detached.
"So, Mammon was it? The one who tried to cancel out Chrome's illusions on herself. Tried to kill her."
Mammon grit her teeth. Her body trembled. "She knows about Tsuna. She knows about what the hell he's gone through."
'Tsuna?' Daemon narrowed his eyes in interest.
"She knows why they look so alike, I want answers!"
"Don't get fiesty."
Daemon felt his own blood run cold at the voice. Chrome leaned a little heavier in Daemons arms as the final member of the Rokudo family appeared. But they all knew it was only a small figment of the boys powers. Mukuro Rokudo stood proudly in front of the other illusionists as he pushed hair away from his face.
"I'm the one that knows all those answers to your questions. However, I'm not allowed to speak. At least until sweet little Tsu lets me into his mind. I believe we only have to wait a bit longer to get answers. You may calm yourself Mammon."
Mukuro bowed as the woman stared, to dumbfounded to respond. Mukuro looked behind him to the other two, a weary smile on his face.
"I apologize, Nagi. I had to leave you for that moment you needed me most."
The youngest illusionist stood up firmly.
"No. It's my fault. I promise to free you... Brother. Just wait a bit longer!" She was determined, something Mukuro seemed to notice as the pineapple haired illusionist tossed a look to his uncle. Daemon nodded and they watched the imprisoned illusionist vanish.
"I believe this fight is done for."
Mammon didn't respond, too caught up in her own thoughts but it was enough to know the illusionist battle was finished with.
Lambo ducked from another blast, hearing Lampo cry out after him. The 15-year old Bovino felt bad for leaving the elder to a fight but knew he only had one shot. He didn't want to disappoint him after all.
'Just hit me. Then everything will be set, think you can do it for me?'
"As if I could refuse an order from you." Lambo grumbled as he ran down another flight of stairs to reach the bottom where the sky battle was taking place. Lambo Bovino, fresh from the future, held the purple ten years later bazooka under his right arm. One eye closed firmly as he finally reached the bottom floor and tossed the doors open. Not to far from him, Caelum and Ieyasu were working together to defeat Xanxus.
Lambo, not really wanting to get his head blown off went to his knees, aiming the weapon and trying to target the blonde. There was a brief pause as the young Bovino pulled the trigger. With that happening the other two people stopped fighting to look at the pink smoke surrounding the young sky user.
Lambo sighed in relief, quickly ducking out of the scene, he'd rather his younger self be stuck in a school building and not out where he could die. Also, he didn't want to be blamed for the following events.
He coughed, choking on the pink smoke as he tried to clear it with a swat from his hand. He didn't know what happened but from the way his intuition was ringing he had to be careful.
However, a larger hand found his, intertwining their fingers before tugging the blonde forward. Ieyasu tripped over a bed of sort and was splayed across an older males figure. He looked down, seeing a familiar smile and brown bangs covering a pair of eyes. The male was older, at least 25, but had a lean type of figure.
Staring Ieyasu felt at ease.
Slowly, he realized why.
"Caelum?!"
