-Percy-

If you had told me that I would be here one year ago, I would have told you that you must have had a bad run in with Mr. D because you were crazy. I straightened my tie and the new suit Addie had insisted on buying me. With Paul and my mother's wedding coming up, I knew money was tight. I couldn't ask them to get me a new suit for graduation. She said she had plenty of money and not to worry about it. Until Tyson had come into my life, I had never really had a sibling, and even he wasn't here for very long before he left for the forges. My mother treated her like her own child, and I could tell Addie enjoyed it. She deserved a normal life especially after it was taken from her.

"Oh my god, Percy, you look so grown up!" my mom gushed from behind me. She handed me my graduation robe, freshly pressed and ready for the ceremony tonight. "Where is that little boy who talked to the fishes in the aquarium?"

"He's still here, mom," I assured her as I gave her hand a squeeze. Paul came and clapped me on the shoulder. In truth, with the cow queen kidnapping me (don't tell Hera I said that), I shouldn't be graduating on time. Luckily, Annabeth talked her mom into using the mist to help me out as long as I made good grades my senior year. For the first time in my whole life, with help from Annabeth, Addie, and Paul, I made the honor roll.

I know. I didn't believe it either.

"Excited for college? Have you decided where you are going yet?" he jested.

"I think I may go to the one with the marine biology program."

"Well, you know your mother and I support you either way, but if it was my choice, that's the one I'd go with. That scholarship is awfully hard to turn down," he added with a wink. I thought it was kind of fishy, no pun intended, and my mom had the same suspicion. I never had good grades, never applied for any scholarships, and I magically get one from my dream university for "valor and bravery extraordinaire," or whatever in Zeus's name that was supposed to mean. I had a feeling that my dad was behind it, as a Mr. Dun had signed it. I asked Addie about it but she just smiled and said she had no idea. She happened to be getting a degree at that college as well in a science I couldn't even pronounce.

She's such a liar.

"Are we picking Annabeth up?" my mom asked as she grabbed her purse.

"No, she's already at camp, so she's riding in with the others."

Speaking of Annabeth, she and I were doing….fantastic. It seemed Aphrodite was finally through with making our relationship "interesting". We fought and screamed and then made up, just like every other couple. She got accepted into college to get a degree in architecture, and she was going to live with Addie.

My mom nodded her head while touching up her lipstick in the mirror. "We're saving seats for all of them, but do I need to save a seat for Addie and her boyfriend? She's bringing him, right?"

I froze with my hand on the doorknob. I had successfully managed to keep my mother from knowing about my half-sister dating the sun god. It's not that Addie was embarrassed; in fact, it was pretty common knowledge now, at least among the Greek community. The Apollo cabin absolutely adored her. She taught at camp (combat skills and surprise, archery). She had kept it quiet worrying that they would think of her like they usually thought of their parents significant others, that they were horrible and vindictive. She quietly listened to the rumors, begging us to not say anything. She wasn't about to blast them, and she didn't want to. In fact, she went out of her way to help them. When winter break came along, many campers came back for a week or so, and Apollo came to surprise her when she was talking to Rachel, all while we were eating dinner. He knew she didn't want anyone to know, but then Rachel asked why they were acting so weird and if they had broken up. Then the entire cabin freaked out, calling her the best godly stepmom ever.

I had never seen Addie so pale.

After Apollo calmed her down, Addie just said it was weird and that she wasn't a goddess. Plus, they weren't married or anything like that. I remember her nervous laughter, the way her cheeks flamed red at the thought. She wouldn't even address the thought around Apollo. In fact, she avoided the topic all together. I had wondered how a relationship with a being notorious for being a huge flirt worked out, but I knew better than to pry into Addie's business. She'd kick my ass.

Anyways, she didn't want my mom to know. I think she felt like it would disappoint her. She was going to come by herself, but Apollo wouldn't have it. He said he was coming with her, whether she liked it or not. Because of rules if interference, they couldn't stay long. Dad wasn't even allowed to come, or so Addie had slipped to me. She said he find a way though, it just wouldn't be the day of.

Addie always found a way though, and they let her have her request. Addie had stated that all she wanted was a chance to live like a mortal for a while, to do the things she never got to do because of them. I think they felt she deserved it, a few years to live like a teenager should have. She would still work for the gods, almost like a normal demigod, but way more frequently than any of us.

I came back to the present, thinking about the chaos if we all did sit together.

"Um no, they've got seats already with his family. She said she'd come see us afterwards."

I hated lying to her, but then again, this wasn't my secret to tell. My mom smiled and grabbed the keys from the counter. "We better go before we are late! It's time for you to graduate!"

-Addie-

I had freckles.

Normally, this wouldn't bother me. It wasn't like it was a new concept to me. I always had freckles, tiny ones you barely noticed along the top of my nose and cheeks. But now they were slightly darker, and new ones lay among the ones that were already there.

My hair, which hadn't grown a single centimeter in the past two thousand years, was now about six inches longer, almost down to my waist. I couldn't deny it anymore, as much as I wanted to.

I was aging.

"Addie?"

I turned towards the voice, to the shining fountain my father had installed in my apartment. Without my curse, the gods needed to Iris message me to contact me. Zeus had insisted on it as part of the "conditions" of my release and break from Olympus, among other things. My uncle drove a hard bargain, but I got what I wanted in the end. This time, I could refuse the job. Still, it was unwise to contest a god, but I had a powerful band that was backing me. So far, it had worked out in my advantage. I'd spend summers at Camp, the rest of the year in the city. Dionysus was complaining how they were grossly under trained, but I suspected it was for other reasons, including that he was bored and wanted company at camp.

"Iris," I smiled. She gave me a tentative smile back. "I hope this isn't bad news."

"Lady Aphrodite said she made the appointment with her daughter at the salon. You are free to go in whenever you are ready. She said they would, um, give you the works for tonight."

I groaned, and Iris smirked at the indignant look on my face. Aphrodite was still trying to get on my good side. When she overhead me telling Apollo I needed a haircut, she jumped at the opportunity, and I couldn't really refuse. One, I knew I would look good, two, I needed it, and three, it was never wise to deny a god unless it was something important. A haircut was hardly something to start a war over.

"Tell Lady Aphrodite I accept the invitation," I sighed. Iris nodded her head. As the rainbow vanished, I left my place, walking the few blocks to the salon.

Fortunately, my relationship with most of the gods had improved drastically. Thanks to Leo, Hephaestus spoke to me with a bit of kindness in his voice. Demeter and Hera left me alone, along with the other gods who disliked me, for the most part. It helped when you had immortals that supported you, who were on your side. Most treated me like an equal or almost like one.

Ares tried one time to harm me. At a meeting, he was going to make a hurtful retort, something about me not exactly being virtuous. I knew it was coming by the look in his eyes, by the sneer he got on his face. To my pleasant surprise, he promptly cringed in pain, and Aphrodite reminded him calmly of the terms of his curse. After that, he completely ignored me, which I didn't exactly mind. Of course, he gave me a glare that could wither Demeter's strongest crops to dust, but it was better than the alternative.

I walked into the salon, and a girl with blonde hair waved me over. She was absolutely gorgeous: tall, with startlingly green eyes, and long, wavy blonde hair.

"I'm Lauren, and you must be Euadne! Mom's told me a lot about you," she explained as she held out her hand. I nodded my head, and I found myself returning her warm smile. She led me over to her chair, sitting me in it and tying a drape around my neck.

"So, unlike my mother, I take your opinion into account. What are you thinking?"

"Umm, well," I looked down at my hands. I peeked up at her, my voice low so no one could overhear us. "I haven't cut my hair in two thousand years. I have no idea."

I saw her eyes go from confused to sympathetic, and she ran her fingers through my hair. She looked thoughtful as she played with it, holding it at different lengths. Lauren met my eyes in the mirror, a smile on her face.

"You know what? I'd go shorter, maybe chest length. We'll add some layers, and maybe just a few highlights to bring out your eyes. Nothing too drastic, I promise! It will just bring out your features. Plus, it will take some weight off. You won't have to get it cut again for a while if you don't want to. How does that sound?"

"Sounds amazing," I replied with a smile. It was time for a change. Lauren spun me around in the chair so I was facing away from the mirror and went to work on my hair.

About an hour passed, and when she turned me around, I really could believe what I saw. For so long, I had looked the same. Now, I looked startlingly different. My normally wavy hair was sleek and slightly curled at the ends. My makeup was flawlessly done but barely noticeable as I requested. It accented my features, making my eyes look extra bright. I normally never thought of myself as pretty, but looking into the mirror, I could see my mother and father, the most attractive parts of them pieced together. My hand reached up, touching my now much shorter hair. It was now about three inches shorter than the length it had been at for the majority of my life.

"So, nice change?"

"You have no idea," I murmured as I ran my fingers through it. "Thank you."

"You are most welcome, my Lady."

"Oh good gods, none of that! I'm not a goddess! No Lady or even Euadne. The only thing you are allowed to call me is Addie. You are too amazing for anything but!"

"It was my pleasure, Addie. Anytime," Lauren added as she ducked her head to hide her blush. I tried to pay her, but she just shook her head and said it was all taken care of. She had another appointment waiting, so she gave me a quick hug before I walked out of the salon. I glanced at my watch. I was running a little behind schedule, so I just decided to transport myself back to my apartment. Mortals didn't notice anything, and even if they did, the mist could hide it.

I poofed right back into my living room. It was pretty spacious for a two bedroom apartment in the middle of Manhattan. I was living there alone now, but Annabeth had agreed to move in with me later this summer while she attended college at NYU. I was taking classes there as well, and I was looking forward to not living alone. I quickly undressed and grabbed my dress out of my closet. I was working on zipping it up, but the zipper was stuck at my lower back. I danced around the room, trying to get the zipper to budge. I began to tip over, but a strong pair of hands caught and righted me. I knew whose hands those were, and I looked up into my mirror to see a pair of tan eyes staring right back into mine.

"Why don't you let me get that, darling?" Apollo smirked back at me. I narrowed my eyes at him, but his only response was to duck his head to my shoulder to kiss it lightly. I closed my eyes, basking in the sensation he was giving me. Apollo's fingers grazed my back, sending goose bumps all over my body. A sigh of contentment left me, and I could feel his grin against my skin. His fingers danced around my zipper, but he was far from zipping it up.

"You can't make me late," I whispered as his lips traveled up my neck. One of his hands came around my front, pulling me flush against him. I couldn't think clearly around him. As embarrassed as I was to admit it, when I was around him, my brain turned to mush. He was so consuming, and I didn't mind in the least.

And it wasn't just my mind. When Apollo touched me, it felt like a shock to my system. Maybe it was because he was a god, but I think it was because it was us. There was a charge, a fire, which just got stronger the longer I was with him. I could never get enough of him.

"We have an hour," he murmured into my ear. I turned in his arms, and he placed one of his hands on my back. The other pushed my hair from my face. "And I love the hair. You look amazing."

"Flattery will get you nowhere."

"I disagree. It's gotten me to plenty to places with you, including that time in Dionysus'-

I swatted at his chest, but he just gave me that wicked grin I had come to adore. His fingers deftly slid up the zipper of my dress, a full pout on his face.

"It's not wise to deny a god," he reminded me petulantly as he played with my hair. I knew he was only teasing me. The grin never left his eyes.

"I never denied you," I said matter-of-factly. I finally got a chance to get a good look at him. He was wearing a tan suit with yellow accents, one definitely befitting of a sun god. He looked beyond amazing, and all these girls thought that Christian Grey fellow was hot. I straightened his tie, peeking up at him from underneath my lashes. He looked down at me, his eyebrows raised and a smirk on his face. "First, I would never deny my Lord what he desires; I simply asked that he not make me late for my previous engagements." I leaned up, brushing my lips ever so slightly against the skin of his neck right below his ear. Apollo groaned in frustration, his hands gripping into me just slightly harder. There was something extremely satisfying about having this kind of hold over a god, not that I could ever use it to my advantage. He had the exact same hold over me. "Secondly, my Lord is well aware that I could kick his godly ass if I needed too."

"On a good day," he reminded me. "I believe I still win three out of five."

"Because you cheat."

"I do not cheat!"

We just grinned at each other, for a second, trying to gauge how playful the other was. I tried to dart away, but Apollo grabbed me, pinning me between him and the dresser.

"You need to get better on defending surprise attacks," he admonished me as he bumped my nose with his own. I gave him a playful roll of my eyes, and he backed away and offered me his hand. I took it, and together, we left for the ceremony.

"Perseus Jackson!"

Percy walked across the stage, while his whole little crew was cheering across the room. Everyone was there, even Leo. I couldn't sit with them, but I could see them from where we were sitting.

Frank and Hazel had come from Camp Jupiter with Reyna. Frank had settled into being Praetor nicely, and he had entrusted what was left of his wood to Hazel, who kept it around her neck sealed in the fireproof fabric Leo had brought for it. They were still dating, both going to school in New Rome. Frank and Hazel were going to stay for a while this summer, talking over arrangements for games and treaties between the camps. Although we might be friendly, we all knew how precarious our situation was. No one wanted the gods to take away what we had received. Reyna would head back in a week; it was as long as she felt comfortable leaving Octavian in charge.

Nico was sitting next to Hazel, both catching up quietly with one another. He was back to working for his father, drifting between the two camps and Olympus. We saw each other a lot more, but our interactions weren't nearly as hostile as they use to be. In fact, we had been on a few assignments together. He and Urban had become friends, which I was happy about.

Jason and Piper were both at Camp Half-Blood. They had decided to stay in New York. Jason was trying to figure out what he wanted to do with school, and Piper was going to the same one Annabeth and Rachel had gone to.

Leo had taken to his job spectacularly. The gods were all impressed with his abilities, and he had actually gained quite a following. They had started a reality show that followed his and Calypso's relationship. They were the on-and-off again couple of Olympus, stars in their own right. Right now, they were on a break, but Leo didn't act all that worried about it.

The principle announced the graduating class, and the whole arena erupted into loud cheers as Percy's class threw their caps up into the air. Jason kept Percy's up longer than most with a gust of wind, and I couldn't help the burst of laughter. It put me off balance slightly, and Apollo grabbed me, an anxious expression on his face. For almost a whole day, I had forgotten my predicament, but now, looking at Apollo's face, my stomach dropped.

"I'm fine," I assured him.

"Addie, if it's starting again, then we have to-"

I put my finger to his lips, leaning forward to replace it with my own. It was brief but sweet, and as I pulled away, Apollo's eyes were closed.

"It hasn't started yet. I promise you, if it does, you'll be the first to know."

He pulled me to him, wrapping his arms around me so I fit perfectly against him. I felt him gently place his lips in my hair, and I tilted my head up to look at him. I could see the worry, the anxiety, in his eyes. That's the way gods were. When they did feel, they often overreacted. However this time, I didn't blame Apollo for feeling this way. I was just as scared as he was, but I had to be strong for him.

"You'll miss them, won't you?" he asked me quietly as he gestured towards Percy and the others. They had just found each other on the floor, and I watched them for a minute, the way they laughed and talked to each other. They didn't know what I knew. I didn't have the heart to tell Percy or the others yet. My time with them was limited. My time as a mortal was limited. I may have ichor in my veins, but it wasn't making me immortal.

It was killing me.

Ichor was never meant to reside in a human form. All magic has a price, and this was mine. I was allowed to save the ones I loved, to save the world, but I became this strange being in the process. At first, I was tested by the council to see what I had become. Hecate, Athena, even Hades, discovered, with the help of the Fates, that I was something in between. I wasn't quite a goddess, but nothing close to the frozen mortal I had been. It was left at that. I would need to become a goddess eventually, but I had time. There was no rush. I had some time to live, like a normal seventeen year old girl. I just had to be careful, but I was more than capable of taking care of myself.

But things began to change.

It started with the dreams, the trouble sleeping. I kept hearing voices, seeing things that terrified me but I couldn't remember, and I would wake up screaming. It was few and far in between, and I tried to hide them the best that I could. I thought it was just PTSD or something. I couldn't hide it from Apollo though. Then the twitch came. It was a small tremor in my left hand, nothing major that I couldn't handle, but it freaked Apollo out. He checked it out, and sure enough, my system was starting to fail. The ichor was too strong for my mortal body; my immortal soul was slowly burning the life out of me. Hecate gave me a potion, told me it would give me more time, but I had no idea how much. When the symptoms started back up, my time was up. It was become a goddess or my body would die and my soul would drift in the abyss forever.

"I will miss them, but it's the right thing. I've been alive for so long already, and if it's with you, it won't be so bad," I teased.

"Do you want to go see them before we leave?"

I smiled and nodded my head. Apollo offered me his arm, and he escorted me down the steps to the main floor.

"Give me just a sec," I whispered as we passed the girl's bathroom. I just wanted to check my reflection, and Apollo gave a dramatic sigh and roll of his eyes. I playfully slapped his arm, and he grinned back at me.

I just threw on some chapstick and made sure my hair wasn't sticking up all over my head. It still looked flawless, thanks to Lauren. I dropped my bag, and as I bent down to pick it up, a chilling but familiar voice rang out.

"It's not over for the two of you. The path has been reset, but you still have a one last quest, one more obstacle, before its set completely right."

Lachesis, the fate of life, stood in front of me, that serene smile still plastered on her face. Her eyes were still milky, but she stared into my own like she could see into my soul.

"What do you mean? Who are you talking about?"

She walked towards me, taking my hands in her own.

"You both have such strength, such amazing fates. Do not despair child. Just remember, when all hope is lost, when all seems dark, remember that you carry the light. It will protect you."

I really thought the old lady had finally lost it. She vanished in front of my eyes, and I walked out of the bathroom, wondering what in the world Lachesis was talking about.

"Addie, what's wrong?"

"Later," I muttered as we walked out onto the floor. "Nothing terribly important, someone just stopped by to tell me something." Apollo nodded his head, but I could see the tiny bit of relief in his eyes that it wasn't something to do with my health.

"ADDIE!"

I hear the voice of my half-brother, and the crowd parted to show me Percy's smiling face. He was waving me over, and Leo and Jason were making rude faces behind him. Everyone was there, the family I had come to love so dearly in such a short span of time.

"Come on, Addie, dear! You need to be in the picture, too!" Mrs. Jackson called out.

"Go on," Apollo insisted. "Enjoy it while you can." He gave me a playful swat, and I darted forward, jumping in the picture.

"Took you long enough," Percy grumbled as he threw one arm around Annabeth and the other around me. The others crowded around, and I could see Apollo grinning from behind Mrs. Jackson.

It was a beautiful moment, and a single phrase came to mind: χαλεπὰ τὰ καλά.

It means "the beautiful things are difficult to attain".

I didn't know how much longer I had with them. It could be days or years, and I didn't know what was coming our way. I knew that these people, these demigods, were the strongest, the best, people that I knew, and they would protect the world and each other at every cost. This, what they had, what I had finally achieved, was a beautiful thing.

I had lived a long time, seen a lot of things. I was a part of the Greek legends and histories, and so were they. We finally achieved a beautiful thing, and no matter what clouds were looming, it was high time that we had a moment to enjoy it.

THE END

..

...

BOOM. I hope you enjoyed it, and please let me know what you think! Any predictions or questions are welcome!

So here's the Synopsis:

Many things are changing in Addie's life. Now that she has to become an immortal, she's pulling away from her mortal friends and more towards her immortal ones. She hasn't hardly seen Percy or Annabeth in a year, and new worries are cropping up into her existence. For one, the Greeks aren't the only gods in existence. Once every millennium, the Greek, Egyptian, and Norse deities meet to discuss separation of power, and the Olympians are hosting this time. Thanatos finally comes for his favor, but it's not for what she expected. A soul has escaped from the underworld, but its not the Greek one. With her condition, she can't be allowed to go alone, and there is only one demigod they trust enough to accompany her on her journey- her half-brother, Percy Jackson.

Ancient rivalries will reemerge, old promises of revenge will be sought out, and unlikely alliances will form. For two children of Poseidon, this could very well be their last fight...

Sound good? Now here's a little sneak peek! I hope this doesn't disappoint...

"What are you doing to my hair?" I asked quietly.

We were sitting in the middle of a field, the full expanse of the stars above us. I had missed seeing stars like this. You lost some of them in New York. Apollo was sitting up, and my head was lying in his lap. We were sitting on a blanket, another one draped over my legs. It was cool, but I was fine with my jacket and Apollo, comfortable in fact. He had been running his fingers through it for the past thirty minutes. I closed my eyes, relishing in the feeling of his fingers brushing my scalp.

"Playing," he replied. I could hear the grin on his face, and I just sighed. This is what I preferred, the calm and quiet. I had enough adventure for my life. "Actually, I was thinking about us."

"Hmm, tired and ready to move on already?"

"Very funny. You know, this is the longest relationship I've ever been in," he admonished me. "And no, I'm not tired. You are quite the opposite of tiring."

I laughed. Almost three years we had been together. I was about to graduate with a college degree, something I never thought possible. Well, I didn't think steadily dating a god could happen either, but I enjoyed being wrong for once.

"I was actually thinking about what Anubis said, that I had no claim on you," he continued.

"Why are you worried about that? You know I'm not going anywhere."

"I know," he said with a small smile. "I just want the world to know that you are mine, forever."

I sat up, a small smile on my face. I leaned forward, gently placing my lips against his. His hands came to my face, and we fell back against the blanket. His lips traveled down to my neck, gently nipping at the skin. He knew that was my weak spot, and my body shuddered in response.

"What if we got married?" he whispered. I just laughed, and his face came back up to mine. "Why are you laughing?"

"Because you're funny! Like you would really want... to…get…" He just stared at me, his face perfectly blank. My stomach felt like I was riding a roller coaster. "You can't be serious? Gods don't get married."

That's all you get! ;)
