The following morning the crew hangs out near the hotel, looking for a place somewhat safe to go eat. "There's a coffee shop..?" Konata points.
"How do you know?" Tamaki asks in awe. "I can kinda read a little Spanish." Konata says with a smirk. They continue towards the coffee shop, Chi thinking, please Konata, for once in your life be right.
They take their seats and look at the menu. They all take a wild guess on the coffee they're ordering and the person comes. "Como me sirviendo ustedes ahora?" Konata stares blankly with a smile. Everyone looks around, waiting. "I said I can kinda read it. Not speak it."
Mari brings her eyes up slightly from the menu to meet their waitress'.
"Cappuccinos para todos."
"Yaaaay" Konata claps. Mori looks up in the same fashion as Mari but at Konata who is smiling like a child with a lifetime supply of candy.
"Please tell me the cappuccinos aren't expensive." Haruhi sighs.
"We'll repay you." Mari says while Haruhi tries to figure out if that's a yes or a no.
Konata takes a peek at the menu. "I can't convert pesos to yen..."
The table turns their heads to Cheiko who has been quiet until now. "Don't look at me. I have no clue how to speak Spanish, so much as convert their currency."
Kyoya already has his calculator out. "I took a semester of Personal Finance, and for some reason we had a lesson on all the different currencies in the world. From my calculations, they're about *$2 worth in yen*" he puts the calculator away. "So it will come out to be around twenty dollars, depending on what they charge for tax here."
"So much money... And we didn't even get food.." Haruhi slumps against the booth. Tamaki tries to hug her but ends up getting slapped away.
"Sorry about your jobs." Honey says to the girls who were looking pretty discouraged at this point.
"I don't know what we can do..."
"God damn it." Cheiko slams her fist on the table and looks up dramatically with tears in her eyes. "I am a Sailor Zombie. An elite member of the secret coast military. I protect and serve our country, and am not about to be stopped by some lousy boss."
"Wow." Mari says. "That was actually quite moving."
"And plus I like the boat." Chi adds.
"The outfits are cute, too!" Konata says beaming.
"So what's stopping us then?" Mari asks.
"We need the keys to the boat." Chi says.
The sound of metal scratching the table breaks the silence. Hikaru and Kaoru switch glances.
"We were waiting for the right moment." They explain together.
"ehh?" Konata tips her head.
"We stole them back at the office." Kaoru shrugs. "Thought they'd come in handy."
