Harry was sobbing into Erin's shoulder. He was surprised that she had even stayed when he told her what happened. She held onto him though letting him cry and get it all out. He just kept saying how sorry he was and how he had been so wrong to use the spell. Not only that but realizing that Draco never threw an offensive spell at him only defensive. Malfoy hadn't wanted to fight him, he had raised his wand in case Harry was attacking him and he was. "I thought Katie was looking at him in the Great Hall…"
"Was she? Or did you assume she was looking at him?"
"I saw Malfoy come in and she was staring…I don't know, I made a mistake, an awful mistake. What am I going to do?"
"First thing you do is get rid of that Potions book. And then, I think several apologies are in order."
He agreed and then he and Erin went up to the seventh floor to put the book in the Room of Requirement. She actually hid it in there so he couldn't be tempted to use it. He apologized to Erin and then went up to the Hospital Wing. Louisa opened the doors when he knocked. "Harry, what can I do for you?"
"Is it possible I could see Draco Malfoy?"
"He's resting, but I'll see if he would be up for company." She closed the door and headed to Draco's bed. He was staring at the wall. "Draco?"
He didn't say anything and didn't move, but he seemed to be listening.
"There's someone here to see you…"
"I don't want to see any of my so-called friends."
"It's not a friend, it's Harry Potter."
He looked up. "Will you stay while he's in here?"
"Of course."
He looked away again and finally nodded. Louisa went and let Harry into the Hospital Wing and over to Draco's bed. He was sitting up now, even though, it seemed to hurt him to do so.
"This has to be kept brief." She told them both. "Draco needs his rest."
Harry nodded and swallowed hard. "I'm sorry," he told him. "I'm finding it hard to trust those that are closest to me. I should have, but it's hard."
"It's hard for all of us." Draco said seriously.
"I know, it's not really an excuse, I just really came to tell you how sorry I am for what happened. I didn't know what that spell would do, which meant I really shouldn't have used it. We're not first years anymore and you deserved better this year after you saved Erin. She trusts you and that should be good enough for me."
"I trust her too."
Harry put out his hand. "So, will you forgive me for what I did?"
Draco looked at him for a long moment and at his hand. He had to make a big choice right here and now. Finally Draco took his hand. "For Erin."
Harry nodded. "For Erin."
Harry, of course, would not get off that easy for what he did. He was banned from Quidditch and had a ton of detentions. Erin stood in the entrance way with Harry, the rest of the team had all gone down to the pitch already to get ready for their match against Ravenclaw. If they could win by more than 300 points they would win the cup, any less and Ravenclaw would win. "We'll be fine, Harry," she assured him. "Ron's back as Keeper now and Ginny can play Seeker. Katie, Demelza, and I will be the Chasers. Seamus and Dean and suiting up as alternates. We'll be all right."
"I'll try to be positive. I'm not thrilled about copying out detention files from 30 years ago."
"Look on the bright side, you get to find out all the horrible things that our dad's did that they won't tell us."
"We could just ask Remus."
"Dad made him swear he wouldn't. He doesn't want to give us ideas."
"Like we need them." Harry snorted.
"That's the spirit." She gave him a kiss and then hurried down to the Quidditch pitch to get changed for the game.
Mira was standing with the microphone, she had surprised the teachers when she said she wanted to commentate a game, but they let her. She was growing in leaps and bounds since she had been with Fred. "Today's match sees Gryffindor and Ravenclaw fighting over the Quidditch Cup! It's sure to be a grudge match today. Gryffindor is led by Assistant Captain Erin Black! Black has shown her Chaser skills all year and during one memorable game as Keeper! Behind black is Ginny Weasley-Lyancomp, Katie Bell, and Demelza Robbins! Ginny is playing Seeker, usually Captain Harry Potter's spot, but today he was unable to attend the game." There were boos coming from the Gryffindor side and cheers from the others. "Then comes Keeper Ronald Weasley!"
"Weasley is our King!"
"Behind Weasley are the team's Beaters, Cootes and Peakes! Thomas and Finnigan are sitting on the bench as alternates!" She introduced the Ravenclaw Team starting with Cho Chang as the Captain.
"There's the whistle as Madam Hooch has thrown the quaffle! The quaffle is taken by Ravenclaw, a pass to Ravenclaw—but no! The quaffle is intercepted by Gryffindor Bell! Bell has been out most of the season, but it doesn't seem to have stopped her any. Bell streaking towards the Ravenclaw's goal, dodges a Bludger, a Beater, and the Keeper! She shoots and scores! 10 to 0 to Gryffindor!"
Within the first 10 minutes Gryffindor was up by 100 and then Demelza got hit with a bludger. Erin called time and she saw Demelza's arm was broken. "Go to the hospital tent, Louisa will take care of you. Dean, you're up."
"It looks like we have a substitution! Chaser Robbins is being taken out of the game after a nasty hit by a bludger. Captain Black has put in Dean Thomas to take her place. And the game is on again. Ravenclaw takes the quaffle—"
By the time the first quarter was over Ravenclaw was up by 140 and they were at 120. All the players were tired and sweaty and gulped down water when they hit the bench. "Okay, we're doing this." Erin told them. "We're playing our hearts out. I have an idea." They all leaned in as she explained what she wanted to do.
The whistle blew and they took to the air. "Ravenclaw has made two substitutions and Gryffindor is putting Finnigan in at Beater. Cootes didn't look so good after that crash. And Madam Hooch has blown her whistle! Gryffindor takes the quaffle and Erin Black is flying straight at the Ravenclaw keeper. He doesn't look so sure about this. He has seconds to decide what he's going to do." The Keeper opted to get out of the way. He didn't look like he wanted any part of colliding with another player. "Oh that had to hurt! The Ravenclaw Keeper was hit by a bludger hit by his own teammate! And they are out of the game. The Chasers are trying to get the quaffle back from Gryffindor, but it may already be too late! It looks like the Gryffindor Beaters are actually synchronizing their hits! The Bludgers are keeping the Ravenclaw Chasers from getting to the quaffle! An Gryffindor will score again! 150 to 140! Ravenclaw had better do something soon or they don't have a chance against this Gryffindor Team! Ravenclaw has figured out the timing! And not a moment too soon! Gryffindor is up to 200 to 140. Ravenclaw streaks to the other end of the field and they will scor—no! Weasley caught the quaffle! Weasley throws to Bell who back throws it to Thomas who shoots it to Black who makes a hand off to Bell who scores! Ravenclaw back with the Quaffle, he throws and it's intercepted by Thomas who scores! What can this Ravenclaw team do get back in the game? Wait, is that the Snitch? Seeker Chang has spotted the Snitch! She's going to grab it—no! Seeker Lyancomp rams her from the side and the Snitch has once again disappeared. Both Seekers will need a moment to shake that collision off. And Gryffindor has scored twice more! The score is now 240 to 140 Gryffindor! Ravenclaw may be dominated by this Gryffindor team, but everyone looks hurt and tired. Thomas scores for Gryffindor again!" The crowd made an 'ooooh' sound. "And that's a bludger right to the head. Thomas has fallen from his broom. He's being taken off the field on a stretcher. Despite being a man down Gryffindor has scored again!" After 20 minutes of hard flying things were really looking down for Ravenclaw. "300 to 140 for Gryffindor, this may be a turning point. Ravenclaw has the quaffle and is headed right for the goal post, the only player between him and the goal is Keeper Ronald Weasley and he's…looking down the field. What is he…Chang and Lyancomp have seen the Snitch! They're both racing towards it and who got the Snitch? Did anyone see who?"
No one was even breathing right now as Ginny and Cho untangled themselves and brooms from the ground. They both fell on their backs breathing heavily and then Ginny shot her hand up in the air holding the Snitch. Madame Hooch blew her whistle and Ginny let her arm fall back down.
"Gryffindor Wins! Gryffindor wins the Quidditch Cup! 450 to 140!"
