New chapter is up :)

Amy went to go take a shower, leaving the Doctor to think and contemplate. Running his hands through his hair, straightening his bow tie, all together, just being restless, and eventually resting his chin on folded hands, staring at the blond Time Lord.

While seeing him in this state, the Doctor found it easy to feel sorry for the blond other. He seemed so peaceful and calm, just lying there.

"No" the Doctor thought to himself "just this once, do not let emotions cloud reasoning" mentally scolding himself.

Anger, Confusion, sadness, and slight hope was pushing its way up The Doctor's throat, feeling slightly nauseous, he tried to burry himself in his thoughts again.

"Why did he say sorry" he thought to himself. There were multiple reasons he could have been saying sorry. He could try to be tricking The Doctor, showing remorse until the moment was right to strike, and overthrow him. He could be deviating a plan as he thought. But there was another reason, god forbid, he actually felt sorry, regretful for what he did. The notion made The Doctor feel slightly uncomfortable, it wasn't right.

The Master Woke up on the same brown couch he had only hours before. His head was still throbbing from when the human girl had hit him. His vision, which was blurry, began to clear up again. He saw a brown, floppy haired man, who he assumed to be the Doctor, staring at him, although not seeing him. The man seemed very deep in thought.

He tried to push himself up, but exhaustion took over forcing him to lay back down. Groaning and frustrated, he stubbornly turned so he was facing the tall side of the couch, so as not to face the Doctor.

Taking a deep breath, the Master voiced his first question "why am I here" he growled

The Doctor, seeming to have snapped out of his trance at the question replied in a dry manner "funny, I was just going to ask you why you are here too"

"Don't play games with me Doctor, you know I meant why am I in the TARDIS" Master retorted in a very frustrated voice

"I'm not cruel" the Doctor snapped, then taking a deep breath continued "I wasn't just going to leave you out there to die" then saying mainly to himself "now what are we going to do with you"

After a few minutes of silence, the Master began to speak again, this time in a whisper "you should have left me to die, it would have been less work for the both of us" And he was right, it would have been a lot easier for The Doctor just to leave and forget about him, but for some reason he didn't. He hated feeling cared for, he didn't deserve it.

Eventually, the two of them fell into a silence. Both were thinking hard about the situation, an neither wanted to be the first one to start a conversation with the other Time Lord.

Getting tiered with the awkward silence, The Master wanted to be alone, so after struggling for a moment, managed to stand up. After stretching, he started walking towards a flight of stairs, leading deeper into the TARDIS.

"Where do you think you're going" the Doctor questioned, raising himself from his seat, unconsciously running a hand through his hair.

The Master, stopping in his tracts, sighing turns around to face the Doctor "well obviously, I'm going to take over the world" he said in a sarcastically snippy manner "now if you excuse me, I have people to kill, worlds to rule" Then he mumbled "don't follow" and with that, he disappeared from sight.

The Doctor, not wanting to make a scene, and knowing The Master could probably not, hopefully not, do any damage, hesitated, but eventually sat back down.

Almost a minute after he left, Amy entered, her hair wet from the shower she had just taken. Looking around, and not seeing The Master in sight, she asked

"Where did he get off to?"

"Well his excuse was that he was going to kill and conquer, but I think he just wanted to be alone" The Doctor responded, standing back up, and walking to the counsel.

"So, who is that, I mean I understand you call him 'Master', but what's the story behind the two of you?" she asked, while watching him bustle around, pushing buttons, flipping various levers. "You're not lovers, or brothers are you?"

"What?! No! of course we're not, Amelia, it's, it's a long story" he said spinning around, very successfully, as the TARDIS started, clapped, then turning serious again "and I don't really want to talk about it yet, that is, until I get more of his side of the tale." Taking a breath, he continued " I really need to figure out what to do with him right now, I don't trust him, not one bit. I don't want him here. Once, I did want him as a companion, but that was before, well, before his last visit to Earth. I tried to help him but he refused." Sighing, he walked over to his control chair and sat down. "what am I going to do" he asked mainly to himself.

"Well" she started, sitting down in a chair next to his "I'm always here to help."

When he didn't reply, or make any gesture showing he heard her she continued

"He did say sorry" she said "sorry for what?" she questioned

"I've been thinking about that too, but that's part of the long story, which I promise I will eventually tell you, just not now, I need to get my head back together" he responded.

"Fine, I'll go find out myself"

"Amy wait no don't you dare-" but he was cut off once she left the room
