Our Heroes now arrive at Vermillion City home of their next gym battle. "Finally I was getting tired of seeing fog for the whole time." Green said as she slid down the hill. Ralph just sighed and ran after her. Kenya was already in the Pokémon Center with his mischievous grin. Green and Ralph were surprised when they saw Kenya in the Pokémon Center already.
"Oh you've finally come." Kenya said as he walked over to the Pokémon Center counter.
"Welcome to the Pokémon Center, we heal all your tired Pokémon. May I please have your Pokémon?" Nurse Joy asked. Kenya, Ralph, and Green gave Nurse Joy their Pokémon.
"Thank You, this will take a moment so please relax." Nurse Joy said as Chansey toke their Pokeball. The gang sat in the waiting room as their Pokémon was getting healed.
"So Ralph what's the next Gym battle?" Green asked, as she was reading a magazine.
"Well….The next gym leader is an old guy named Lt. Surge." Ralph said as he checked the flyer in the room. The room had Lt. Surge and his Pikachu standing next to him and above it said 'Try your best to beat me'.
"Well let's wait till our Pokémon get healed and we'll go." Green said, still reading the magazine.
Nurse Joy handed the group their Pokémon. "Your Pokémon are all healed we hope to see you again." Nurse Joy said as she gave her signature smile. The 3 thanked her and were on their way.
"Did she just say that 'we wish to see you again'?" Kenya asked. Green just shrugged her shoulder and kept walking on the trail.
"Lt. Surge's gym is next to the shore." Ralph said as he read the map. Green nodded her head and they ran the rest of the way.
They arrived at Lt. Surge's gym in a few minutes but the door was stuck. Kenya charged at the door in an attempt to get it unlocked. Kenya's attempt succeeded but he fell on the pile of dust inside the gym. The gym looked horrible with cobwebs and dusts everywhere. The 3 had no choice but to explore it if they were going to find Lt. Surge and challenge him. The gym looked scary by itself without the Joltik and Zubat. The gang finally got to the end of the gym and what was waiting for them…..an empty space where Lt. Surge is supposed to be.
"What the heck is this?" Green asked, crossing her arms in anger. Ralph walked up to the space and began to examine it after he finished he turned to the others.
"It's dusty, very dusty; it's been untouched for about 10 years." Ralph reported. Shocked faces appeared on Green and Kenya. How could this gym not be used in 10 years? Why is it still standing? But most importantly where is Lt. Surge?
Green bowed her head and began to speak: "A Pokémon gym still be here and at the same time not used," "There's an explanation and I'm going to find it." Green said as she ran out of the gym. The gang had no choice but to follow her. The sun blinded the three as they came out of the dark and black gym. They looked all over town and after 30 minutes of searching they gave up.
Kenya sat down on the bench and let out a huge sigh. "This is pointless we'll never find him!" Kenya shouted, flailing his arms.
Green snapped her fingers and ran to a nearby lady. "Excuse me ma'am but do you know a man by the name of Lt. Surge?" Green asked, in her friendly manner.
The lady looked confused at her question and pondered it for a while. After a few seconds she gave her answer: "Lt. Surge? Oh you mean that old guy who lives at the end of town," The lady answered. "Go straight and take a left at the shore".
Green thanked the woman and they were on their way. They got to the shore and made a right there they found a really small shack. Kenya knocked on the door and it opened slowly.
"Who is it?" The voice was old and high. The 3 gasped at the figure before them
