Started writing this on the 8th, Okay hey everyone, board again so I thought why not? Anyway, broke 5000 views,
so chuffed with that, now I've had question about whether Alexandra dies or not? Can't answer that, I will not, *shrugs* sorry. she may not die or she might, we all know she take's 'it' those of you who don't know what it is, ignore this please. Anyway, yes she does, but I can't tell you what effect 'it' will have on her, it out heal her, or it could kill her faster. Who knows? I will however tell you I will be doing the comic relief mini-sode for the reactions to the outcome of this chapter, please don't stop reading just after this chapter is done... Enough of my rambling.

I do not own 'Doctor Who?'

Sorry for any spelling mistakes or my poor grammar.

Parting of the Ways.

Recap.

"The Doctor is initiating hostile action!" Dalek 1 shrieks,

"The Stratagem must advance. Begin the invasion of Earth!" I groan, what was with earth and alien invasions... They spin around wildly. Rose gasps but they take no notice of her, we step out of their way.

"The Doctor will be exterminated!" Another Dalek declared,

"Exterminate!" They shout as one. The entire ship is filled with thousands of Daleks crying 'exterminate!' as one. Rose looks around in terror and myself in slight concern and pity for at the huge, insane army.

XXX

The Daleks are in a state of... panic I guess. One of them rounds on Rose and I.

"You know the Doctor! You understand him! You will predict his actions!" I scoff, but Rose panics,

"I don't know!" Fear and very slight anger set in her voice, but it didn't satisfy the monster's as the one who had asked began to glide dangerously towards her, only to come face to stalk with me.

"I wouldn't wanna do that if I were you. I can predict for her though?" I offer, Rose looks at me in horror,

"Predict the Doctor's actions, Female." It demands,

"Okay if we want to get anywhere my NAME is Alexandra, not Female. Understand?" I ask, it looks at me for a moment,

"Predict the Doctor's actions, Alexandra." I smile and Rose stood behind me her mouth hanging open.

"Right then, Thank you, lets get started shall we? First the Doctor is going to come aboard this ship." I nod, that was right. "Second, he's going to get Rose and I to safety." I pause once more letting this process in it's mind, "And third, whilst the Doctor is doing that, my brother, is going to destroy one very unlucky Dalek." I cheerily say the last part smile widening as I rolls back slightly,

"Your Predictions are wrong, Alexandra." It shrill's, I cringe. God I hated that sound, had it always been that loud? Thinking back, no it didn't, but at this moment I could hear Rose breathing, and feel my stomach being twisted into painful knots. I'm still so tired, regardless I raise an eyebrow,

"Do you wanna bet on that?" I question, smirk in place, like Jacks, cocky, but confidant. It seems as though it was about to reply but was cut off by...

"TARDIS detected. In flight." A second Dalek informs in that same irritating tone,

"Launch missiles! Exterminate!" Dalek 1 orders, I sigh, he really does get into the worst trouble.

"You can't! The TARDIS hasn't got any defenses - you're gonna kill him!" Rose begs desperately,

"You have predicted correctly." Dalek 1 screeches, I flinch as the sound hurt my ears. Rose trembles in fear for the Doctor.

"Honestly, Rosie, do you have that little faith in our sexy blue box and it's pilot" I whisper in her ear, she looks at me and I wink, she relax's slightly at my
assurance but still looks shake. The two missiles are released and make a bee line for the blue box. They however hit themselves and explode and obscure the TARDIS from view.

And finally I hear that wonderful sound that brings hope wherever it goes, Rose and the Daleks look around I just stare straight ahead and crouch to the floor as a wind blew through both mine and Rose's hair... It surrounds both us and one of the Daleks. I let my smirk widen,

"Like I said one very unlucky Dalek is going to get killed by my brother." The Doctor's outline becomes more and more distinct, standing beside the console. When the engines have stopped-

"Rose! Get down!" she looks confused so I grab her hand and pull her down to the floor,

"Exterminate!" the Dalek's voice exclaims, I hear the ray gun and then an explosion and scream, Rose struggles to her feet as I push up and run to Jack as Rose and the Doctor embrace.

"Hello handsome, god did I miss you." I whisper in his ear as he crushed my ribs in his embrace, I keep my eyes open as I hug him, knowing that if I did close them then I would fall asleep and miss this last adventure with the 9th Doctor,

"Hey princess, you're grounded, you're not doing that ever again, am I glad to see you... you weren't even gone for ten minutes." I let out a strained chuckle, I was going to have to leave him regardless of choice...

"I know Jack I won't leave unless I have no choice in the matter..." I grin at him and we pull away after a minute,

"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jack demands, I pull fully away from him and bolt across to the Doctor, crashing into his arms,

"I knew you were coming." I whisper,

"How are you, are you okay? Are you hurt?" he fires off worriedly, I roll my eyes as I pull back,

"I'm fine, yes I'm okay, No I'm not hurt." I answer after his questions with a joking grin, I pull back completely and push him in the direction of the dead Dalek. The Doctor carefully examines the Dalek with his sonic screwdriver and I felt the pity come back. The four of us bend over the Dalek, looking at it. The battle armour has been blasted away, giving them a clear view of the mutant inside, it was twisted, grotesque and dead.

"You said they were extinct. How comes they're still alive?" Rose questions,

"One minute they're the greatest threat in the universe, the next minute they vanished out of time and space." Jack mused to himself,

"They went off to fight a bigger war..." the Doctor mutters,

"The Time War..." I push out, the words feeling disgusting.

"I thought that was just a legend." Jack clucked, I shake my head, the screams from my nightmare's sounding in my ears.

"I was there. The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords. With the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them." The Doctor spat in sadness and venom, "I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing."

"There's thousands of them now. We could hardly stop ONE. What're we gonna do?" Rose demands, fear creeping in, I jump on Jacks back as the Doctor answers,

"No good stood round here chin-wagging! Human race, you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers - let's go and meet the neighbors." he rubs his hands together and heads off down the ramp.

"You can't go out there-!" Rose warns urgently, in vain because he still steps out of the door anyway.

"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Dalek's shout, Jack and Rose cautiously step out, myself still on Jack's back, the rays are being stopped by a
force-field, they stoop and everything fades into silence for a moment before the Doctor holds his hands up,

"Is that it? Useless! Nul points." he says mockingly. He leans against the TARDIS and assures Jack and Rose, "It's all right, come on out. That force-field can hold back anything." before Jack can ruin anything and whisper in his ear,

"Don't call his bluff." he slowly nods and I send the Doctor a wink. The Daleks are silent, watching us. The Doctor steps forward to address them.

"D'you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Home world? The Oncoming Storm. You might've removed all your emotions... but I reckon that right down deep in your DNA, there's one little spark left. And that's fear." he begins, the Dalek's eyepieces twitch nervously. "Doesn't it just BURN when you face me? So, tell me - how did you survive the Time War?" he demands contempt seeping though his voice strongly,

"They survived through me." A voice echo's through the dark, The Doctor turns startled at the voice having not noticed, the Emperor towering over us, the Doctor takes a few steps forward staring up in open mouthed awe,

"Rose... Captain... 'Lexa' this is the Emperor of the Daleks." The Doctor introduces, I grin again,

"Nice to meet you." it slipped out of my mouth before I could stop it,the sarcastic drawl clear in my voice.

"You destroyed us, Doctor. The Dalek Race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive." it explains,

"I get it." The Doctor speaks,

"Do not interrupt!" One of the Dalek's shrill's I finch at the sound, why was it so loud,

"Do not interrupt!" Another also shrill's.

"Do not interrupt!" Another follows, Rose and Jack flinch and wince, but the Doctor merely looks mildly annoyed, still strong and unwavering.

"I think you're forgetting something. He's the Doctor. And if there's one thing he can do - it's talk." I speak mildly irritated with the loudness of their voices,

"I've got five billion languages, and you haven't got one way of stopping me. So if anybody's gonna shut up, it's YOU!" He continues shouting the last word with such venom that the Dalek's back up slightly, he turns back to the Emperor his voice no longer holding the hard edge. "Okey doke. So, where were we?"

"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding. Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth. Harvesting the waste of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed - they all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted." this was why I felt my pity... Rose looked as though she was going to puke up at any moment and I can't say I blame her. "The seed of the Human Race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured." it continued

"So, you created an army of Daleks out of the dead." The Doctor barked out in disgust,

"That makes them... half human." Rose hesitates as she says this and it provokes a loud response,

"Those words are blasphemy!" the emperor shouts it's voice rising,

"Do not blaspheme!" A smaller Dalek demands, and slowly it echo's through the whole ship disturbing the Doctor immensely,

"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek." The emperor informs in a gravely voice,

"Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?" he asks, still looking around,

"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks!" I drop my head into Jacks shoulder,

"Worship him! Worship him! Worship him!" They command, I flinch as their voices got louder,

"They're insane! A hundred years hiding in silence - that's enough to drive anyone mad." He says to us, I bring my head up and look at the Dalek's sadly,

"It's worse than that. Driven mad by their own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence. And that makes them more deadly than ever." I whisper, hundreds of thousands all dead so they can make this, and it only causes more suffering, The Doctor looks at the emperor,

"We're going." He states,

"You may NOT leave my presence!" The Emperor denies, but still we ignore it, halfway to the TARDIS, the Dalek's having no power to stop us,

"Stay where you are!" One of the Daleks orders, the Doctor looks back at them grinning mockingly before closing the door listening to the Daleks screech.

"Exterminate!" He lent his head back on the door closing his eyes in despair, I walk towards him and give him a hug, he clings to me and I whisper soothing words into his ear before we set off.

XXX

Stepping out of the TARDIS door's the doctor began barking orders.

"Turn everything up. All transmissions, wide open, full power. Now! Do it!" He commands, The man obeys,

"What does that do?"

"Stops the Daleks from transmatting on board." I answer leaning against the console,

"How did you get on? Did you contact Earth?" The Doctor asks,

"Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programmes." I let out a snort at that,

"I don't get how they could watch that stuff anyway." I mutter to the Doctor, he nods but doesn't reply.

"And the planet's just sitting there, defenseless." he then notices Lynda, I look around, no Dan. I sigh in relief, I didn't need his life on my hands, he was a
decent bloke, probably had a family to get back to. "Lynda, what're you still doing on board?" He demands before rounding on the programmer, "I told you to evacuate everyone." I clip him around the head,

"There weren't enough shuttles and she wouldn't have gone anyway."

"Didn't wanna leave ya." Lynda says, proving my statement, Rose looks her up and down before looking over to me a question in her eyes, I shake my head, not the time...

She smiles at him. Rose looks her up and down, clearly not liking her implication.

"She's right, or I wouldn't be here... we've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero." I look down at that, they were going to die.

"Oh, my God." The man exclaims as he looks at the screen, "The Fleet is moving. They're on their way." it was silent for a moment before the Doctor set to work.

XXX

The Doctor is frantically ripping armfuls of wires out of desks, I had joined him a moment ago. The others watch him, clearly not knowing exactly what we're trying to do.

"You're an idiot you know that?" he doesn't answer me but I know he had herd,

"Dalek plan - big mistake. Because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, come on - it's obvious. A great big transmitter - this station." Jack was staring at us brows furrowed as he tried to work it out,

"If he can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it - anyone?" I prompt, Jack finally realizes what we're talking about,

"You've gotta be kidding." He asks skeptically,

"Give the man a medal!" The Doctor shouts sarcastically,

"A Delta Wave?" His voice is incredulous,

"A Delta Wave!" He repeated excitedly, Rose looks confused,

"What's a Delta Wave?" she finally questioned

"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy." Jack begins I jump in,

"Fries your brain - stand in the way of a Delta Wave" I cut off and let Jackie finish,

"And your head gets barbecued!" I cringe, I don't like the sound of barbecued brain.

"And this place can transmit a MASSIVE wave! Wipe out the Daleks!" The Doctor ends, Rose opens her mouth to say something but is interrupted by Lynda.

"Well, get started and do it then!" Rose shuts her mouth discreetly glaring at the woman,

"Trouble is, wave this size, building this big, brain as clever as mine, should take about - ooh - three days? How long till the Fleet arrive?" the Doctor inquired,
the man checks but I answer first,

"22 minutes." I moan, The Doctor frantically pulls another cable out from underneath the desk like a mad man, stares at the end of it for a second, looks up and beams at them all.

"We've now got a force-field so they can't blast us out of the sky." Jack says as we're gathered around the computer, "But that doesn't stop the Daleks from physically invading." he continues,

"Do they know about the Delta Wave?" The male programmer murmured,

"They worked it out at the same time." I comment,

"So, if they want to stop the Doctor, that means they've got to get to this level - 500." Jack informed, he indicates to the illustrative diagram on screen, "Now, I can concentrate the extrapolator around the top six levels, 500 to 495. So, they'll penetrate the station below that at level 494 and fight their way up." I keep my mouth closed, I couldn't change the deaths of hundreds on the bottom level,

"Who're they fighting?" the guy asks,

"Us." Jack dead pans

"And... what're we fighting with?" He asks again, uncertainty lacing his voice,

"The guards had guns with bastic bullets - that's enough to blow a Dalek wide open." I offer, Jack nods,

"There's SIX of us." the woman interrupted skeptically,

"Rose, 'Lexa' you can help me. I need all these wires stripped bare." Rose joins him immediately, but I stay by Jack, it wasn't going to work on me, I was staying on this station, not going back to earth.

"Right! Now there's FOUR of us!" Her voice had a sarcastic edge in it covered with doubt,

"Then let's move it! Into the lift! Isolate the lift controls!" The man and woman rush off, Lynda said her goodbye, Rose glaring dagger's at her, I shake my head in childishness, they share a handshake and he leaves, Jack and I walk over,

"It's been fun!" Jack says cheerily, keeping it light, The Doctor smiles. Jack turns serious, "But I guess this is goodbye." I shake my head,

"Don't talk like that. The Doctor's gonna do it. You just watch him." Rose says confidently,

"Rose..." He trails off for a moment before he takes her face in his hands and looks at her intensely, "You are worth fighting for." I close my eyes a moment, "Wish I'd never met you, Doctor!" I look at his grinning face, he takes his face in his hands, "I was much better off as a coward." he kisses him the same as Rose, and then he turns to me,

"You don't get to say goodbye." I whisper, he smiles softly, and pulls me into a tight hug,

"I can't believe I met you... Alexandra Maryanne Harkness. My baby sister." I feel him let out a shuddering breath as his grip tightens, "You don't go off into danger recklessly, promise me." he demands, I give a shaky smile, I nod my head. He kisses my forehead and steps back pointing at the door we smirk at each other,

"See you in hell." we say simultaneously, and then he runs off.

"Sorry Jackie." I mutter before walking back to the wires that needed stripping.

"He's gonna be all right..." I hear Rose try to convince herself, the Doctor doesn't reply, I can't... "... isn't he?" still she get's no answer.

We are sitting on the floor in the space between the middle row of desks, working busily in a companionable silence. We're now the only three people left on Floor 500.

"Suppose..." Rose starts but she doesn't continue,

"What?" The Doctor asks after a moment,

"Nothing." Rose shakes her head,

"You said 'suppose'." He insists,

"No, I was just thinking... I mean, obviously you can't, but... you've got a time machine. Why can't you just go back to last week and warn them?" she questions, I shake my head,

"Soon as the TARDIS lands in that second, I become part of events. Stuck in the timeline." He explains not looking up from his work,

"Paradox." I whisper. Those gave me one hell of a stomach ache, and a headache,

"Yeah, thought it'd be something like that..." Rose says, already knowing he was going to say that. She carries on working.

"There's another thing the TARDIS could do... it could take us away..." he suggests quietly, I knew what he was doing, I don't react, Rose glances briefly up at him with a small smile. "We could leave. Let history take its course. We go to Marbella in 1989." he continues trying to persuade us,

"Yeah, but you'd never do that. Neither would Alex." Rose says softly,

"No, but you could ask." He says looking her in the eye, Rose doesn't reply, "Never even occurred to you, did it?" he asked looking between us, I shook my head and carried on working,

"Well, we're just too good!" Rose says grinning, the Doctor just smiles. The computer whirrs in the background and the Doctor looks over at it, suddenly alert.

"The Delta Wave's started building. How long does it need?" he inquired, they both leap to their feet and rush over to the computers. The Doctor plonks himself in one of the chairs and Rose peers over his shoulder. He presses a few buttons, stares at the monitor... and his face falls. I don't move from my spot, knowing what was coming.

"Is that bad?" Rose questions seeing his face. He doesn't reply His head is sinking to his knees. "Okay, it's bad. How bad is it?" The Doctor suddenly perks up and leaps to his feet, eyes bright.

"Rose Tyler, you're a GENIUS!" he shouts, he looks at me, pleading and I shake my head and nod to Rose. Rose smiles eagerly. He places a smacking kiss on her forehead.

"We can do it! If I use the TARDIS to cross my old timeline... yes!" I never realized how truly good at acting he was until this moment, he could hide his despair from us and if I didn't know better I wouldn't know what lay beneath that smile, he had told me about his wife, his children and I knew how much it hurt him... He shoots off towards the TARDIS, Rose close behind. They go through the doors and over to the console.

He runs out of the TARDIS again, full of energy-

The door shuts behind him... and then he stops. He turns around slowly to look at the TARDIS and he looks so, so sad. I walk over to his side taking his hand, she would realize soon, The Doctor raises his sonic screwdriver and points it at the TARDIS. The engines groan and the rotor starts to rise and fall.

"Doctor, Alex what're you doing? Can I take my hand off? It's moving." I hear her call, The Doctor does not lower his sonic screwdriver. He carries on pointing it at the TARDIS.

"Doctor, let me out!" I hear she shout, "Alex! Please." close my eyes as the TARDIS begins to fade away... Her cries are becoming more and more distant as the TARDIS fades into nothingness. And in a moment, it is gone completely and we're facing an empty space. He finally lowers his sonic screwdriver and turns away, so tired and sad. I give him a hug and then I turn back to what I had been doing. I had the TARDIS record a message from me...

XXX

3rd person...

Rose is still pounding frantically on the door when a hologram of the Doctor appears standing next to the console, flickering slightly. Rose spins around when she hears him speak.

"This is Emergency Program One. Rose, now listen, this is important. If this message is activated, then it can only mean one thing." Rose stares, wide-eyed as he speaks. "We must be in danger. And I mean fatal. I'm dead or about to die any second with no chance of escape. And if 'Lexa's not there, then she refused to leave"

"No!" She screams lunging forward,

"And that's okay. Hope it's a good death." he carries on, he doesn't react, he's just an image, Rose stops at the top of the ramp, just staring at him. "But I promised to look after you, even though your cousin is to stubborn, and that's what I'm doing. The TARDIS is taking you home." he explains,

"I won't let you." She rushes up the remainder of the steps. The Doctor's hologram continues to stare ahead of him, not looking at her.

"And I bet you're fussing and moaning now - typical. But hold on and just listen a bit more. The TARDIS can never return for me. Emergency Program One means I'm facing an enemy that should never get their hands on this machine. So this is what you should do: let the TARDIS die." Rose's mouth drops open ever so slightly in distress. "Just let this old box gather dust. No one can open it; no one will even notice it. Let it become a strange little thing standing on a street corner. And over the years, the world will move on and the box will be buried. And if you want to remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all. One thing." he turns his head to her, eyes full of compassion, his voice less distorted as though he was actually there, "Have a good life. Do that for us, Rose. Have a fantastic life." and then another images appears,

Alex...

"Hey Rosie... Look I know you're probably furious with me... and that's okay, but the truth is I'm already dying, this is only going to speed up the process, I know you're crying right now and I really am sorry for this." Tears roll down the holograms face, "I need you to tell aunt Jackie that I don't think I'm coming back, tell Mickey that I love my brother so very much... I recorded this after Jack came aboard, I knew this was coming." a sob breaks from Rose's lips, "I only have one thing for you Rose, and god help me for this because I might be seriously messing up timelines here so just these two words... listen carefully. Bad Wolf. I love you Rosie." the holograms link hand and disappear.

"You can't do this to me." She strides to the console. "You can't." she rages at the TARDIS hitting it with her hands "Take me back! Take me back!" The pain is evident on her face as she rattles at the controls, having no effect whatsoever on the TARDIS. The engines eventually die down and grind to a halt. Rose abandons the console, runs across the room, flings open the doors and rushes outside...

Rose finds herself looking up at the block of flats where she lives on a grey and dismal day. She runs back inside, refusing to accept what has happened. Rose rattling the controls, shouts at the TARDIS again "Come on, fly. How do you fly? Come on, HELP ME!" But to no avail. Mickey rushes in to view from round a corner at the end of the road and bolts down the street in time to see Rose stepping slowly out of the TARDIS doors, defeated. She leans against the side as he catches up with her.

"I knew it! I was all the way down Clifton's Parade, and I heard the engines and I thought 'there's only one thing that makes a noise like that'." he comes closer concerned when she doesn't answer, "What is it?" and then he notices something else, "Where's Lex?" But Rose says nothing as she reaches blindly out to him, clinging to him with her eyes screwed up against the pain and the tears.

Alexandra's P.O.V

The Doctor and I sit working in silence.

"Rose, I've called up the internal laser codes. There should be a different number on every screen - can you read them out to me?" Jack's voice calls over the
intercom, I close my eyes,

"She's not here." the Doctor answer's dully, getting up I head over to the screens,

"Of all the times to take a leak! When she gets back, tell her to read me the codes!" I smile slightly at that,

"She's not coming back." He calls softly,

"What d'you mean? Where'd she go?" he demands,

"Just get on with your work." The Doctor snaps,

"You took them home, didn't you?" he realizes,

"Just Rose... I'm not leaving either of you." I call out forcing amusement into my voice,

"Yeah." The Doctor answers.

"The Delta Wave... is it ever gonna be ready?" I close my eyes,

"Tell him the truth, Doctor." The voice of the emperor giggles slightly, the Doctor looks up to see an image of the Emperor Dalek projected onto the screen. "There is every possibility that the Delta Wave could be complete, but no possibility of refining it. The Delta Wave must kill every living thing in its path - with no distinction between Human and Dalek. All things will die. By your hand." it continues, I clench my teeth in hatred, The Doctor does not answer.

"Doctor... the range of this transmitter covers the entire Earth." Jack warns,

"You would destroy Daleks and Humans together. If I am God, the creator of all things, then what does that make you, Doctor?" the emperor asks,

"There are colonies out there. The Human Race would survive in some shape or form, but you're the only Daleks in existence. The whole universe is in danger if I let you live." he spat, The Doctor looks back at Jack on the other screen. "Do you see, Jack? That's the decision I've got to make for every living thing. Die as a Human or live as a Dalek." he sounds completely helpless and I turn to look him in the eyes, "What would you do?" he finally asks,

"You sent her home. She's safe. Keep working." he answers curtly,

"See you in hell Harkness." I call, he nods,

"But he will exterminate you!" I thing on the other screen informs,

"Never doubted him, never will." Jack responds grinning, the Doctor grins back and leaps to his feet, energized by Jack's trust. He strides across the room to the screen.

"Now, you tell me, 'God of all Daleks' - 'cos there's one thing I never worked out. The words 'Bad Wolf' and 'Lone Wolf', spread across time and space. Everywhere, drawing me in. How'd you manage that?" He asks, I close my eyes now, that wasn't their doing,

"I did nothing." It answer's

"Oh, come on. There's no secrets now, your worship." the Doctor goads on skeptically,

"They are not part of my design." It denies, the Doctor turns his eyes on me and I nod, "This is the Truth of God." the Doctor looks up at the words 'Bad Wold - Lone Wolf Corporation' are written in huge letters on the wall.

The Doctor raises his eyes to where 'Bad Wolf - Lone Wolf Corporation' is written in huge letters high on the wall. I lower my head, I wish I could stop this...

XXX

3rd person.

"And it's gone up-market, this place. They're doing little tubs of coleslaw, now." Jackie says, Rose hadn't told them Alex had stayed with the Doctor yet... Mickey, Jackie and Rose are sitting at a table in a completely ordinary chip shop, Rose opposite them. Mickey and Jackie are tucking in, but Rose's box is untouched. She's gazing out of the window, not taking in a single word of the conversation. "It's not very nice. Tastes a bit sort of clinical." Jackie continues seemingly oblivious to Rose's mood.

"Have you tried that new pizza place down Minto Road?" Mickey asks looking at Rose,

"What's it selling?" Jackie questioned,

"Pizza." Mickey says in a duh voice,

"Oh, that's nice." Still Rose gazes out of the window with a faraway look in her eyes, looking incredibly downcast. "Do they deliver?" Jackie inquired,

"Yeah!" Mickey says, Jackie takes another look at Rose, and then abandons all pretense of having an ordinary conversation.

"Oh, Rose. Have something to eat..."

"Two hundred thousand years in the future, they're dying, and there's NOTHING I can do." She doesn't realize her slip until it's to late,

"They're?" Jackie demands, Rose flinches, she didn't have a choice but to tell them...

"The Doctor and... Alex." fear broke across their faces,

"Lex is there with him? Why didn't he send her home?" Mickey demands,

"She's to stubborn and wouldn't go, but there's- there's something else she wanted me to tell you-" her voice breaks,

"What..." Jackie asks quietly, grief across her face trying to absorb that her niece is in danger or dead... Rose swallows,

"She- She's been sick for a while now..." They look at her "She told us a few days ago... she's been dying and she's only got days left..." She sobs now and Mickey and Jackie are stricken, pale and don't know how to respond... they just sit there,

"Well, like you said - two hundred thousand years - it's way off!" she tries to sound cheerful. Trying to convince herself that Alex is not dying, Rose finally looks at her, tears falling down her face,

"But it's not! It's now! That fight is happening right now, and they're fighting for us! For the whole planet, she's dying! And I'm just sitting here eating chips!"
she's angry upset and devastated,

"Listen to me." Jackie snaps, Rose turns to face her, reluctantly falling silent.

"God knows I have hated that man, but right now, I love him - and d'you know why? Because he did the right thing. He sent you back to me. He can save Alex because he's a Doctor, he's from space, he's probably got lots of stuff that can fix her up..." Jackie trailed off, still in denial, and she returns her attention back to the chips, as though the matter is closed.

"But what do I do every day, mum? What do I do? Get up - catch the bus - go to work - come back home - eat chips and go to bed? Is that it? What about Alex what if he can't fix her?" Rose demands desperately, and for the first time since the news Mickey speaks

"It's what the rest of us do." his voice is cold, "He can help Alex it's just going to take time," he continues,

"But I can't!" Rose finally shouts,

"Why, 'cos you're better than us?" Mickey snaps at her,

"No, I didn't mean that!" Rose argues, frustrated, She pauses, trying to calm herself down. Jackie watches her.

"But it was... it was a better life. And I - I don't mean all the travelling and... seeing aliens and spaceships and things - that don't matter. The Doctor showed me a better way of living your life. Alex was smiling all the time, she was happy with him, she loved him..." she looks up meeting their eyes speaking earnestly, first to Mickey, "You know, he showed you too." she speaks passionately, "That you don't just give up Alex stayed because she knew she was dying and she wanted to spend her last minutes with him going down fighting, not with people fussing over her, she hated when that happened, even when we were kids. You don't just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away, and I just can't-" She breaks off, unable to carry on. She kicks the table in frustration and leaps to her feet, running out of the chip shop in despair. Jackie and Mickey glance at one another and still they try not to think that maybe Rose is right, Maybe Alex is dying...

XXX

Rose is sitting on a bench, staring into space. Mickey stands over her.

"How long has she got left?" he whispers, she swallows,

"A few days, maybe less?" she chokes out,

"She didn't want to come home did she?" she shook her head,

"She knew she was dying, told me when we were hanging from a barrage balloon, chewed the Doctor out, and before we got to game station she told us..." she explained, he lets out a chuckle,

"She always was stubborn, even now... is she in pain?"

"She and the Doctor said that she just wouldn't wake up one day... she wouldn't feel it." tears are running down her face again and now they're running down Mickey's face as well,

"You can't spend the rest of your life thinking about them. We can't change it." he said, it hurt him to say it because he knew he would always think about Lex, he'd miss her to hell.

"But how do I forget them? Her?" she asks broken,

"You've got to start living your own life." Rose looks up at him. "You know, a proper life, like the kind he's never had. The sort of life that you could have with me. Alex wasn't meant to be normal we all know that, i mean, her birthmark is enough to show that." But Rose's attention had already wandered. She noticed the words 'BAD WOLF' written in huge letters on the playground floor in spray paint. And just under it were the words 'LONE WOLF', astonished, Rose stands up and walks over to them. Mickey follows. Rose then realizes that 'Bad Wolf' is graffiti'd all over the playground walls as well. And then she thought of something else...

XXX

Rose was 15, sitting on a bench with a few school friends, when a guy had come up to ask what was up with Alex, Rose answered,

"She's always been a Lone Wolf, in school doesn't mix with people well..."

...

Alex was sat up on the roof with a sketch book out drawing, Rose looked over her shoulder,

"What are you drawing?" there on the page was a brilliant, Black Wolf a scar over it's gold eye red tinting the fur, on the rock it was jumping over were the words carved into stone,

'Lone Wolf'

...

When the Doctor had gotten them back a year late, on the roof Alex was working on a drawing on the wall, the words

'Lone Wolf'

above it.

XXX

"Over here. It's over here as well!" She dashes over to the wall to examine the graffiti.

"That's been there for years! It's just a phrase! It's just words!" Mickey calls,

"I thought they were warnings... maybe it's the opposite. Maybe it's a message. The same words written down now and two hundred thousand years in the future. It's a link between me and the Doctor and Alex! Bad Wolf - Lone Wolf here... Bad Wolf - Lone Wolf there!" Rose shouts in building excitement,

"But if it's a message, what's it saying?" Mickey questions,

"It's telling me I can get back! The least I can do is help them escape!" Rose calls as she runs off.

XXX

Alexandra's P.O.V

I cough into my hand and taste copper again, I don't let him see, he's busy working... The Doctor is going into overdrive, he's working so fast. The Satellite shudders violently. They were here.

XXX

"All the TARDIS needs to do is make a return trip. Just... reverse." Rose explains, fire back in her eyes,

"Yeah, but we still can't do it." Mickey contradicts,

"The Doctor and Alex always said the TARDIS is telepathic. This thing is alive. It can listen." Rose rambles,

"It's not listening now, is it?" Mickey shoots down, Rose is undeterred,

"We need to get inside it. Last time I saw you, with the Slitheen, this middle bit opened..." she thinks to herself, "And there was this light... and the Doctor said it was the heart of the TARDIS. If we can open it, we can make contact. I can tell it what to do!"

"Rose..." Mickey tries,

"Mm?" She answers a grin on her lips,

"If you go back, you're gonna die." He says quietly,

"That's a risk I've gotta take. 'Cos there's nothing left for me here." She says confidently, aware of how hurtful that sounded to Mickey,

"Nothing?" He asks,

"No." She looks away, avoids Mickey's eye. That hurts him so much and she see's it now - but it has to be said.

"Okay, if that's what you think... let's get this thing open." He says not letting it show to much.

XXX

Mickey's releases the handbrake of his Beetle. He starts the engines, a look of determination on his face. The Beetle is hooked up with a thick, strong chain. The other end of the chain is attached to the TARDIS console. Rose stands by it.

"Faster!" She shouts out, Mickey slams his foot down, trying so hard that steam is billowing from underneath the car, but still, the console refuses to budge.

"Come on!" Mickey yells, the wheels spin uselessly on the spot.

"It's not moving!" Rose informs, Mickey growls with the effort, the chain becoming more and more taut but still to no avail. Rose chews her lip with anticipation. The chain shudders... then snaps. Rose yelps in frustration, kicks the console and leans on it, head down. Defeated again.

XXX

I heard the screaming, the gun shots and more screams, I coughed as quietly as I could but over the screams he couldn't hear me, something I was grateful for, I wipe the blood from my mouth and wipe it into a piece of cloth I kept in my pocket.

"Advance guard have made it to 495." I hear Lynda inform,

"Jack, how're we doing?" The Doctor calls over the intercom.

"495 should be good. I like 495." Jack replied, I smile, always optimistic, after a moment he lets out a cry of triumph.

XXX

Rose is slumped in one of the chairs next to the TARDIS console, broken, defeated, and staring into space. Jackie's standing over her.

"It was never gonna work, sweetheart. And the Doctor knew that, Alex knew as well." Her voice breaks slightly at mentioning her niece, "They just wanted you to be safe." She says gently,

"I can't give up." Rose denies

"Lock the door. Walk away." Jackie tries again, but it's useless,

"Dad wouldn't give up. Alex wouldn't either." Rose counters,

"Well, they're not here, are they?" Rose stares at her in silence for a few seconds. "And even if they was, they'd say the same." She continues,

"No, they wouldn't. Especially not Alex." Jackie stares at her. "They'd tell me to try anything, Alex would push and push until she got what she wanted because she loves him. If I could save the Doctor's life... try anything, they'd say." She says quietly,

"Well, we're never gonna know." Jackie answers back, heartbreak in her voice,

"Well, I know. 'Cos I met him. I met Dad." Rose admits,

"Don't be ridiculous." Jackie retorts quietly,

"The Doctor took us back in time, and we met Dad." Rose insisted,

"Don't say that." Jackie pleads,

"Remember when Dad died...? There were two people with him." she tries to remind her, Her voice begins to crack under the pressure of her suppressed tears. Jackie just stares at her, finding this hard to take in.

"Two girls. A blonde girl and a girl with Crimson hair. They held his hands..." Rose continues on trying to convince her that it's true. Still no reply. Jackie's still
just staring. "You saw them from a distance, mum! You saw them! Think about it! That was me and Alex. You saw us-" Jackie abruptly cut her off,

"Stop it." But still Rose continued on,

"That's how good the Doctor is-" Jackie cut her off, shouting this time, really not wanting to hear any of it,

"Stop it! Just stop it!" And she runs from the TARDIS, crying, leaving Rose alone. Rose's whole body is shaking with grief as she sobs her heart out.

XXX

I took a deep breathe and shouted through the com,

"Lynda! What's happening on Earth?"

"The Fleet's descending... they're bombing whole continents. Europa... Pacifica... the New American Alliance..." Her voice is hushed and I can feel through the com just how terrified she is, "Australasia's just... gone." She continues and I close my eyes anger bubbling under the surface.

'How many lives will they ruin before they die, before they're extinct?' I clench my fist but do nothing, just leaving the anger to bubble,

"Floor 499. We're the last defense. The bullets should work if you concentrate them on the Dalek's eye-stalk. I've got the force-field at maximum so the Dalek fire part should be at its weakest." Jack's voice sounds, Oh god, this was it, he was going to die.

"Jackie?" I call,

"Princess..." he responds,

"I love you so much, you know that, right?" he waits a moment and I know its not long now,

"I love you to Princess."

XXX

Mickey and Rose are leaning against Mickey's car, looking at the TARDIS.

"There's gotta be something else we can do." Mickey thinks aloud, not giving up,

"Mum was right... maybe we should just lock the door and walk away." Rose mutters completely defeated.

"I'm not having that. I'm not having you just- just give up now. No way. We just need something stronger than my car... something bigger... something like that!" Mickey shouts the last part as they both turn around when they hear the roar of an engine. They see a huge recovery truck drive around the corner - driven by Jackie. Rose grins in amazement. It comes to a halt and Jackie climbs out. She strides towards them.

"Right. You've only got this until six o' clock, so get on with it." Jackie informs a smile on her face, the earlier breakdown no where to be seen on her face.

"Mum, where the hell did you get that from?" Rose demands both amused and astonished,

"Rodrigo. He owes me a favour. Never mind why, but you were right about your dad, sweetheart. He was full of mad ideas, and this is exactly what he would've done. Now, get on with it before I change my mind." She chucks the keys to Mickey, who catches them with a nod of thanks. Rose runs back into the TARDIS and Mickey hurries to the door of the pickup truck.

XXX

"Open fire!" I hear Jack shout, a mad fire of guns sounds, the Doctor is working frantically, but I just stood there listening to the deaths of people, one of them the man I consider a brother.

"It's not working!" a guy shouts,

"Concentrate your fire! Eye-stalk, two o' clock!" Jack order's, I picture everything in my mind as I close my eyes. The volunteers continue to fire, the bullets falling uselessly to the floor with a clatter before they can even touch the Daleks. One of the bullets, however, manages to catch the eye-stalk of one of the Daleks and his vision goes blank.

"My vision is impaired! I cannot see!" I hear over the com,

"We did it!" A woman shouts in excitement and triumph, I didn't even know her name... But she payed for letting her concentration slip - a bolt hits her and she slumps backwards, dead the sound of the ray hitting my ears,.

"No! Nooooo!" The guy who fancies her shouts with rage and stands, firing madly over the top of the barricade, no longer caring about the consequences. He too is hit with a bolt, and he is thrown backwards. Jack carries on firing, roaring with anger.

"I've got a problem..." I hear Lynda calls over the com, I open my eyes and try not to focus on what I know is happening, "They've found me." Lynda's voice is fearful, the Doctor still working madly calls over the intercom in reassurance,

"You'll be all right, Lynda. That side of the station's reinforced against meteors." I close my eyes, she was going to die,

"Hope so! Know what they say about Earth Workmanship..." Lynda says trying to be happy and optimistic, a minute later Lynda screams and the she cuts off. Upon hearing her scream, the Doctor looks up with shock.

"Last man standing! For God's sake, Doctor, finish that thing and kill them!" Jack yells,

"Finish that thing and kill mankind." The emperor commands, The Doctor, after pausing to listen to this, carries on working frantically, I however react to his words.

"You think yourself so much better than every other living thing in this universe in any universe, you kill anything that feels, but you won't survive this, I will
make sure of it, you think yourself a god, but you are a parasite, stuck in a shell never knowing the warmth of somethings touch, the things you have created, the things you call Dalek should be in the asylum, but you, you don't deserve to live." My voice was lace with rage that I couldn't comprehend.

XXX

One end of the chain has now been fixed to the truck and other to the console. Jackie watches by the TARDIS doors. Mickey is at the wheel, Rose by the console. The chain is stretching and stretching.

"Keep going!" Rose shouts to her mother,

"Put your foot down!" Jackie yells to Mickey, Mickey does so.

"Faster!" Rose calls again,

"Give it some more, Mickey!" Jackie relays, Mickey roars with the effort. The metal is beginning to creak...

"Keep going!" Rose cries,

"Come on, come on!" Jackie once more, The chain becomes more and more taut, the metal creaking even more loudly in protest. Rose still continues to shout,

"Keep going!"

"Give it some more!" Jackie repeats, Mickey growls, putting his foot down as hard as he can. Finally, the catch rips off and the panel flies open. A blinding white light pours out. The pickup truck lurches forward as the chain goes slack. Rose steps forward to look into the light, and it reflects onto her face so she shines with a golden light. A breeze blows her hair and suddenly, the light flows into her eyes in two golden streams.

"Rose!" Mickey shouts as he rushes towards the TARDIS but the doors slam shut before he can reach it. Jackie covers her mouth with her hands with shock. She pulls Mickey back as the engines groan into life. The TARDIS dematerializes, rays of light shining from the windows, a wind blowing up around it... and then it is gone. Jackie looks at Mickey, completely bewildered. Mickey is breathing very heavily, staring at the spot where it disappeared.

XXX

"Doctor, you've got twenty seconds maximum!" Jack shouts, The Doctor throws equipment together, dashing around like a madman.

"Exterminate!" I hear a Dalek screech,

"I kinda figured that." I let out a chuckle laced with a sob, always had to have the last word, I hear the Dalek fire and then there was nothing. The Doctor pulls up the lever of the device he has put together.

"It's ready!" I rush over to him wiping my tears and standing next to him, he was amazed that the delta wave was ready though, he looks up as the Daleks begin to file into the room, surrounding him. "You really wanna think about this. 'Cos if I activate the signal, every living creature dies." the Dalek emperor on screen still talks,

"I am immortal."

"D'you wanna put that to the test?" The Doctor challenges, a grin makes it's way onto my face, it could only be described a ferial,

"I want to see you become like me. Hail the Doctor, the Great Exterminator!" The emperor goads,

"I'll do it!" The Doctor threatens angrily, placing his hand on the lever,

"Then prove yourself, Doctor. What are you - coward or killer?" I still couldn't wipe the grin off my face, she was coming, The Doctor's hands tense on the lever. He shakes, his face screwed up in pain. Then, he just lets it go.

"Coward. Any day." He said, he looked over at me and gave me a questioning look, I hold up five fingers, and count down,

"Mankind will be harvested because of your weakness." The emperor informs the sound of glee in his voice,

Four

"And what about me and 'Lexa'? Are we becoming one of your angels?" The Doctor questions,

Three

"You are the Heathen. You will be exterminated. Alexandra will become a true Dalek." I still had the grin on my face two finger held up,

Two

"Maybe it's time." The Doctor closes his eyes, ready.

One.

The Daleks all around us. Suddenly, one of the Dalek's eyepieces swivels around as we hear the sound of the TARDIS engines. It begins to fade in at exactly the point where it left.

"Alert! TARDIS materializing!" A Dalek informs, let out a giggle, The Doctor's eyes snap open and he spins around in shock.

"You will not escape!" The emperor shrieks, I let my laugh die down. The TARDIS has fully materialized and the doors fly open. The Doctor throws a hand over his eyes as the blinding golden light of the time vortex pours out I continued to look at the light, as I had when Blon had looked into it. In the doorway stands Rose - no Bad Wolf. The Doctor stares, awestruck as the light curls around Rose when she steps forward. The Doctor stumbles backwards, falling to the ground. I step closer, this was it.

"What've you done?" The Doctor asks, fear permeating his voice, Rose gazes down at him, her eyes full of the light of the time vortex. When she speaks, her London accent has vanished.

"I looked into the TARDIS. And the TARDIS looked into me." She replies,

"You looked into the Time Vortex - Rose, no one's meant to see that." The Doctor tells her desperatly,

"This is the abomination!" The emperor exclaims,

"Exterminate!" A Dalek shouts, The Dalek fires at Rose, who holds up her hand. The bolt freezes and reverses back into the gun. The Doctor looks at it in amazement. He stares up at Rose intensely.

"I am the Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words..." The words 'BAD WOLF' written high on the wall. Rose waves her hand.

"I scatter them in time and space." The words 'Bad Wolf' rise from the wall and float away. "A message to lead myself here. To my sister, to give her the power she needs."

"Rose, you've got to stop this. You've got to stop this now." The doctor begs, I slowly walk to Rose, "'Lexa!' Don't!" I ignore him, and walk closer holding out my arms,

"Sister!" Rose calls once more, she steps into my arms and the light flows from her to me. She slumped in my arms and I place her on the floor turning to the words on the wall now,

"Lone Wolf is me, my sister brings me the power and I finish our quest." My voice echo's, I scatter the letter's of 'Lone Wolf' with a flick of my hand, showing disinterest in the words, "These words haunt me my entire life, bringing me to my end."

"You've got the entire vortex running through your head. You're gonna burn." The Doctor explains, I let a light smile onto my face,

"This is how it must be, things have changed." I say compassion in my voice, The Doctor looks taken aback. He stares. I look over at Rose tears stained her cheeks. "My time is almost up, I will protect those I love, I will protect them from the monster." I continue, tears now running down my cheeks,

"You cannot hurt me. I am immortal." The emperor croaks, a smirk works it's way onto my face.

"You are insignificant in this vast universe. The whole of time and space runs through my head, I see one planet... one hell for you kind. And I transport them."
Raising my hand one of the Daleks disappear in a flash of gold.

"Everything must disappear... all things. Everything dies eventually." I let the light flow from me freely and every Dalek soon disappears into light... "The Time War ends." My voice is strong but I still felt the tears roll down my face,

"I will not die. I cannot die!" The last Dalek, the emperor raises it's voice in fear as it screws up it's eye, each small Dalek disappeared, once the ship was empty I finally spoke once more,

"I said not to long ago, that you didn't deserve to live, taking a life is not something I relish but I do stay true to my word..." And with that I slowly let the
ship and it's emperor disintegrate into nothing.

"Lexa, you've done it. Now stop. Just let go." the Doctor pleads,

"There is one more thing to do, something that must happen, a fixed point." I close my eyes and picture Jack, "I'm so sorry, Jackie." I whisper, I see him in my mind, Jack suddenly takes a huge intake of breath as his eyes snap open...

"But this is wrong! You can't control life and death!" He was terrified,

"I have no choice he must live it is written, as my sister and I were." I snap my eyes open... It wasn't letting me expel the vortex, "No, No, no no no no..." I cry out, "Don't make me the cause, please take it back." I beg, but she wouldn't...

"What is it?" The Doctor asks, I shake my head,

"Please don't make me do this... not to him." it was no use though, the TARDIS was stubborn... "She won't let me put the vortex back..." my voice cracks, he gets a look of understanding on his face and stands up moving towards me, I shake my head and back away. "NO! I won't let you die... Not for me." he doesn't listen and grabs my arms, "Please- Stop."

"I won't let you die either, I'll still be the Doctor." he whispers, still I shake my head,

"I'm dying anyway, you shouldn't have to do this." he doesn't reply, he places his lips on mine and I let out a sob. The Time Vortex flows out of my eyes and into his. I felt it leave me and go into him... I look at him through my eyes and see his golden ones,

"I'm so sorry." I whisper, and my sight is blackened.

XXX

Alex falls int his arms unconscious. He lays her carefully down on the floor and then stands up straight, facing the TARDIS calmly. He slowly exhales and the Time Vortex is expelled from his mouth and it streams back through the doors into the TARDIS. The doors close quietly, and the TARDIS looks completely normal once more. The Doctor opens his eyes and smiles softly to himself. Kneeling down he looks at the unconscious Alex, still breathing as her eyes flutter slightly, but she doesn't wake up just yet.

XXX

Groaning and wincing, Jack stands. He staggers forward through the doorway. Jack see's no traces of the Dalek's. He stoops and runs his hand through it in confusion. Suddenly, he hears the sound of the TARDIS engines groaning to life. Jack runs through as fast as he can. He's too late. the TARDIS is fading away, leaving Jack stranded. He stares after it, hurt and confused. Alex's voice running through his head,

'I know Jack I won't leave unless I have no choice in the matter...'

XXX

Inside the TARDIS, the Doctor is at the console, looking up at the rotor and the monitor. Rose and Alexandra, whom he had lain down on the grilling next to the console, stir. They both awaken, disorientated.

XXX

Alexandra's P.O.V

"What happened?" I hear Rose ask, I look over to the Doctor standing at the console, I close my eyes,

'It's my fault...'

"Don't you remember?" The Doctor asks in surprise, he looks over at me, I nod sadness in my eyes,

"It's like... there was this singing..." Rose explained as she sat up, I stood up balancing on the railing next to me,

"That's right! I sang a song and the Daleks ran away." The doctor says cheerily, I look away,

'He's dying because of me...'

"I was at home... no, I wasn't, I was in the TARDIS, and..." Rose struggles to remember her trip, unseen by Rose, but not missed by me, the Doctor glances down at his hand. The veins shimmer with a golden light for a moment, and then it's gone. I step over to him and take his hand. "I can't remember anything else..." The Doctor looks around at her uneasily. She is shaking her head, completely oblivious, trying to remember. She notices him watching her. He smiles.

"Rose Tyler. Alexandra Maryanne Flame." He let's out a small laugh, "I was gonna take you to so many places. Barcelona - not the city Barcelona, the planet. You'd love it. Fantastic place - they've got dogs with no noses." He laughs at his own joke. Rose giggles, half rolling her eyes. I look at him,

'Should I do it?'

"Imagine how many times a day you end up telling that joke, and it's still funny!" I smile slightly,

"Then, why can't we go?" Rose asks, I let my smile drop,

'it couldn't hurt...'

"Maybe you will. And maybe I will. But not like this." He says, he does not elaborate, but goes back to looking at the monitor with a vague smile on his face.

"You're not making sense!" Rose said standing,

"I might never make sense again! I might have two heads. Or no head!" he rambles, he laughs. Rose nods with a bemused smile on her face. "Imagine me with no head! And don't say that's an improvement..." Rose grins, eyes twinkling. "But it's a bit dodgy, this process. You never know what you're gonna end up with-" And suddenly, he is propelled backwards with a blast of golden light. He clutches his stomach as though he has been punched. Rose rushes forward, full of concern.

"Doctor!" She calls,

"Stay away!" He commands urgently, Rose stops, staring at him, eyes wide. The Doctor winces in pain.

"Doctor, tell me what's going on." Rose demands,

"I absorbed all the energy of the Time Vortex, and no one's meant to do that!" he tries to keep his tone light whilst explaining, despite the obvious pain he is in,

'I should just do it...'

He screws up his eyes in pain, Rose staring at him with concern.

"Every cell in my body's dying." he explains seriously,

"Can't you do something?" Rose questions, horrified,

"Yeah, I'm doing it now! Time Lords have this little trick, it's... sort of a way of cheating death. Except..." He looks over at me, "It means I'm gonna change." Rose shakes her head slightly, not understanding. "And I'm not gonna see you two again. Not like this. Not with this daft old face. He laughs, not wanting to scare her, "And before I go..."

"Don't say that." Rose says cutting him off,

"Rose..." I say quietly, she backs down, listening.

"Before I go, I just wanna tell you, you were both fantastic." smiles at us, seeming so proud "Absolutely fantastic." Rose looks back at him, unsmiling, still upset and not knowing what to make of this. "And d'you know what?" he asks, Rose shakes her head. The Doctor grins. "So was I." Rose nods,

"Doctor?" he looks at me,

'Just do it.'

Sighing, I walk over grab the back of his neck and pull him into a desperate kiss, he stands shocked as I pull away before a grin widens on his face,

"I always wanted to do that." I tell him,

I need to sit down...

I walk over to the jump seat.

I'm so tired... just a little rest, that's all... I lean my head back on the seat and let the Darkness consume me...

XXX

The Doctor convulses and orange energy explodes from his skin, blasting out of the neck of his jumper, the sleeves of his jacket and the bottoms of his trousers. Rose staggers backwards, shielding her eyes from the heat and light - but she cannot look away. She stares transfixed, as gradually, the Doctor's hair lengthens, his face changes... until the energy eventually dies away and a completely new man is stood before her, still wearing the old Doctor's clothes. He looks slightly surprised for a moment, before turning to look at Rose.

"Hello! Okay-oo." The man greets, He gulps. Rose stares at him with fascination as he runs a tongue over his teeth, brow furrowed. "New teeth. That's weird. So, where was I? Oh, that's right! Barcelona." Rose just stares at him with undisguised shock. He grins.

He turns and looks over to Alexandra... and his smile drops, she was asleep in the chair... eyes closed breathing lightly...

He looks back at Rose. Not seeing the girl behind him stop breathing...

XXX

Okay there you go... One more chapter to go... please don't stop reading just because she stopped breathing in this chapter the next one will be up shortly, I mean really shortly, a surprise in the next one though. I hope you all like the kiss I added in there.
