Chapter 8: The living Nightmare Vector Viper; Medusa, the master mind behind it all?

A.N.: Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't updated this story in a while, but I just wanted to get some of my other ideas into a reality (Such as Digimon Adventure 3 and Pokemon XYZ) and watching other animes. (Like RWBY). Anyway, I'm back with this from that mega cliff hanger scene. Let's get it on! Oh, I've also got Pokemon Y so those of you who want, you can add me in a PM (Or review if u don't have an account, I'll put up the friend code later if anyone is interested)

Another note, I'm using OC Dream Eaters/Monsters from time to time. I chose a snake first because 1: Medusa is a snake witch, and 2: Because it just feels that there was no snake Nightmare/Spirit in KH3D.

Neku, Shiki and Kid were knocked back by the lance arm from the new Nightmare. "What is this disgusting creature?!" Kid asked as he got up and prepared a battle stance.

"It looks like a Dream Eater. But those only exist inn the Dream Worlds!" Shiki answered.

"Tell that fact to ugly and slimy over there!" Neku added. The snake Nightmare flicked it's forked tongue at the group in a gruesome and predatory fashion.

"That's just nasty." Shiki pointed out. The creature lunged the lance arm forward toward Shiki, but she managed to nimbly dodge it. "I guess you don't like being called nasty then. Don't worry, I'll fix it up!" Shiki threw a punch in the air, to which Mr. Mew copied her and struck the beast rather hard.

"Think that was tough, wait'll you see this!" Neku added. He took Loewe and rushed forward. He tried to slice up the snake a bit, but it turns out it has tough skin (Or scales). "Damn, he's got armor for skin!"

"Neku!" Loewe shouted to him, "There's a weakness on this beast somewhere! We just have to find it!" The monster tried to strike Neku with the lance blade, but Neku managed to block in time. But was pushed back a few feet.

"But it looks like getting up close and personal won't work." Neku stated.

"Then I guess this is a job for me." Kid replied. He leaped up and held his partners in a reverse style. He began to fire rapidly at different parts of the snake. When he landed he was a few feet behind the Nightmare. But that didn't stop his relentless assault. He fired at the back of the beast, but it was doing nothing. "Damn... What's it gonna take to beat this thing?!" Kid asked. He was swept from his feet by the tail of the snake.

"Kid!" Shiki cried out. She sent out and socked the creature dead in the face once more. Disorienting it long enough for Kid to get up and retreat away to Neku and Shiki's side. "How do we take it down?! This is frustrating!"

'Shiki's right...' Neku thought, 'This is starting to work up a nerve between us. There's gotta be a way! I just know it. It only made progress when Shiki- Wait... I do know it!' "Shiki." Neku said, "Help me distract the creature long enough to pin it down! Then Kid, you get a powerful shot to it's head!"

"Neku? Are you-"

"Yes! I'm sure! Just do it!" Neku shouted. Shiki didn't waste any time in obeying. She once again flung Mr. Mew at the head again and was successful at keeping the stuffed cat in place. Blinding the creature. Neku then activated his Pyrokinesis psych and set the area around the snake ablaze. "OK Kid! Fire away!"

"Not yet. I have to charge we have to charge a Soul Resonance." Liz said.

"What?! Why?!"

"To guarantee we finish this thing off." Kid answered for her.

"So... We have to wait until you're ready for a big bang?! How long will that take?"

"Not too long. Just buy some more time." Kid held out his hands in a symmetrical pose, beginning to charge up an attack.

"Alright. Let's just hope it'll stay blind long enough." Neku said.

"...Neku..." Loewe said.

"Huh?"

"If there's a soft spot on it's head, why waste so much effort to blow it off with a gunshot when you can easily hack it off."

"If you hadn't noticed, I don't wanna lose a limb. And hitting it from afar we have a better chance of killing it that way with less harm done."

"What if the attack misses? Then what?"

"Then we try again."

"What about the city damage?"

Those thoughts never crossed Neku's mind until now. 'What if they end up blasting off half the area? Then... All of the bystanders... No... I won't let that happen!' "Kid! Make sure you hit that target!"

"Will do!" Liz and Patti's weapon forms turned into giant arm cannons. Kid now had some black spikes on his arm.

"Noise percentage: 0.02" Liz said.

"Resonance spikes stable," Patti added. "In 3..."

"2..."

"1!" Kid finished. He fired two shots from his cannons which eventually merged into one blast. Shiki called Mr. Mew back, right before the blast made contact. She caught Mr. Mew a moment after the explosion. "Did it work?" Kid asked, while Liz and Patti turned back into their original weapon forms.

"We'll wait and see..." Neku replied. They were waiting for the smoke to clear. Out of the smoke came arrows like blades. The trio jumped out of the way right before the arrows connected to the ground where they were just standing. "What?! An attack like that should've finished it off!"

The arrows were connected like cables to the smoke cloud. When the smoke cleared it revealed that the snake's head was gone and replaced with the three arrows. "That is just nasty!" Kid stated. THe beast retracted the arrows from the ground and they slithered around like snakes. They started encircling the fighters.

"Anyone got a flute?" Liz asked, starting to get a bit desperate for a miracle. "Or at least knows a snake charmer?"

"Wait... Snakes can't see when there's fire right?" Neku asked.

"But you already tried that when it had it's head." Shiki said.

"I know, I know. But what if I aim fire directly into their eyes? Burning out their eyes? Could that work?"

"What eyes Neku?" Shiki asked, "They're just black arrows."

"Wait..." Kid said, "There's something familiar about this type of power..."

"What?" Neku asked.

"Medusa. That must explain this. But... She's dead. Maka and Soul killed her with the Genie Hunter." (Majin Hunter) 'But does that mean what I think it does? Is Medusa really not destroyed?' Kid thought to himself.

"... Everyone. I have something to suggest." Loewe said, "If the creator can be countered with an anti-demon wavelength technique, wouldn't it make sense it's creature could be too?"

"Hey! You've gotta point there!" Shiki said. "But how are we gonna pull off an anti-demon wavelength? Kid couldn't do it. And I doubt mine and Neku's fusion attack would work-"

"Then let me and Neku do a Soul Resonance." Loewe declared.

"What?! So soon?!" Neku asked in surprise. 'I barely know this guy and he wants me to resonate with him so soon. Is it right? I mean, it's trust your partner, right?' "Alright... My minds made-up. It's probably the only shot we've got left."

"Alright. Just clear your mind Neku." Kid advised, "And feel for your partner's soul..."

'Sure... Like that's easy. Just search huh?' Neku closed his eyes and concentrated. He could feel some form of energy that was in his hand. It was Loewe.

"When you find your partner's soul, make sure your souls' wavelengths are on the same level."

Neku focused on trying into making his 'soul' compatible with Loewe's. Honestly, it wasn't so difficult. When they were connected, Neku felt a spark and energy bursting out. Neku and Loewe were glowing white. "Now... Unleash that energy into an attack." Kid finished.

Neku held up the blade out before him, similar to the way a knight would, and the blade then became longer and was glowing white. Neku then rushed forward, running right passed the arrows and sliced the Nightmare in half. He managed to run right through the beast and get his sword clean through. The beast broke in half and faded off into darkness. The glow faded from the blade. The sword transformed back into his human form, along with Liz and Patti. "That's how it's done." Neku plainly said.

"Nice one Neku!" Shiki cheered, "You did it!"

"Hooray!" Patti exclaimed.

"Not quite yet..." Kid said.

"Wait a sec... IT'S NOT DEAD?!" Liz asked in fear.

"No, it's dead. I'm sure of that much. However, how did Loewe know the technique Genie Hunter was an anti-demon technique?"

"A lucky guess." Loewe answered quickly, but surely. But all Kid did was give him a stare before turning around.

"Well, I guess we all should head back to Base."

"Base? You mean that hotel?" Shiki asked.

"Yes. But it's simpler to say Base."

"It seems they've united. Not entirely ideal." Agent paused and gave the situation some mild thought, "No... not united. If all proves true, they should be rather easy to separate." And with that said, Agent walked off
