File: Autumn Breeze

I raced home after school, eager to get to my computer. I'm not addicted to it or anything, but I did have a very important project I was working on. I pushed against the wind as it blew my long brown hair back, thrashing it across my face. I reached my house and heaved the door open, forcing it closed a moment later against the wind, which had blown a few dry, fall leaves inside. A flight of stairs and a slammed door later I dumped my backpack by the bed and booted the computer. It opened to the screen I had left up last time so I started from there.
It had been hours, this mindless searching was what had made my grades, which had always been exceptionally good, drop lately. Finally I found something. Twirling in my chair I threw a dart at a map on the wall. There were several, world maps, street maps, maps covered in darts and maps that were barren. They were where I recorded the disappearances. Lately people had been disappearing. They were usually poorer people, young and often without many living family members and they were always well covered up. None of them had any explanation. One day they were there and the next, poof, like they never existed. I had first noticed the disappearances when my best friend, Rhett had gone missing. What was even stranger was that when I asked his family about it they didn't even remember him, everyone at school assumed the family had moved or he had transferred, they didn't know him or his family well. When I realized similar things had happened to other people I started trying to figure it out but I couldn't find a pattern.
"Where are you going," I murmur to myself. I wish I knew.
Just then there was a flash of light blinded me. My eyes cleared, or at least I thought they had until I saw the blue... unicorn, I think. In the purple magicians outfit. I rubbed my eyes a No, this is not where the great and powerful Trixie was supposed to teleport to! Stupid spell!" She turned around and saw me staring. I figured it was probably rude to stare at a talking unicorn so I said hello.
"Um... hi?" I know, I'm great with words aren't I.
"The great and powerful Trixie demands to know why she is here. Did you wish? There are so many, why did Trixie sign up for this?" I just stared at the slightly annoyed unicorn. "Well?" She had said wish so I could only assume she was granting.
"I want to know where everyone has been disappearing to, and why,"
"Well, Trixie can show you, but you will not be able to return here," it took a moment to sink in, here I could finally answer my question, but I would have to leave forever. It took a while to decide.
"Alright, show me," her alicorn flashed again and I suddenly felt sick. It passed soon enough but when it did I felt... shorter. A glance in my mirror cleared everything up. I was a pony. A pegasus. A real live pegasus with a bright, autumn orange coat. My chestnut mane had a long green streak in it and clear blue eyes stared in awe at the transformation.
"Come on," Trixie called, trotting through my open bedroom door which was now glowing. I followed her.
Now I live in Equestria, I couldn't tell you a certain town because I travel around, visiting others like me, ponies who used to be people. I go by the name Autumn Breeze, chosen when I learned that ponies have very different names from people. It took time to adjust of course, I had to learn their phrases, get used to the new foods, earn bits. I also learned about cutie marks, mine is the silhouette of a bat, which I think is pretty cool. I even found Rhett, though he didn't go by that name anymore and he seems happier here than he ever did back in the human world. And I think I am too
