Okay so I'm super sorry it has taken me so long to update. I feel bad, but here's the next one. Love you guys.

And please let me know what you think!

~Chapter Forty-Three~

~Jade's POV~

I could already tell today was going to be one of those day where I really wished I would have stayed in bed. Since we got home from the tour and the cruise they sprung on me, they are always here. It doesn't matter that they have their own houses Where they can and should hang out at, no they wanna bug the shit out of me.

Really was it to much to ask for some peace and quite? That's all I really wanted. Before we know it the baby is gonna be here and we will never get any alone time.

I fell back against the bed and covered my face with my pillow. All I wanted was a day off. Was that too much to ask for?

"Jade?" Allie called from the other side of the closed door. "Can I come in?"

I sat up letting the pillow drop to my lap.

"Sure." She opened the door and came through, she made sure to shut it behind her. "What can I do for you Allie?"

"They want to go to the beach."

"They don't need to ask for my permission." I rolled my eyes.

"They know that." She rolled her eyes. "We were wondering if you wanted to go with us."

"So they sent the pregnant one up to ask? Chicken shits, I tell ya." I shook my head. "Not to sound like a total bitch, but no I don't want to go. I just wanna be left alone. As much as I love those boys, I need space and time away from them."

"And Kendall."

"Tell him I said to have a good time and not to forget to drop Grace off at his parents, she's spending the weekend with them. So make sure the others stay away this weekend or I just may accidentally hurt or maybe even kill someone."

"Coming in loud and clear."

"Fantastic. Now get out of my bedroom."

She saluted me before leaving. I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom to get ready for the day.

By the time I was done and dressed they were gone. I let out a huge sigh of relief. I had a long list of shit I wanted and needed to get done. There was so much to do to get ready for the baby.

I never thought this was going to happen. Never in a million years did I ever think I was going to have another child. Part of me still felt like I was living in a damn dream. And the other part could not believe this was happening.

My phone ringing brought me out of my thoughts. I grabbed my phone off the night stand. I looked at it and saw that it was Kathy calling.

"Hey Momma, what's up?"

"Just seeing what's going on today?"

"I pretty much kicked everyone out of the house." I laughed. "I have a list of stuff I need to get done."

"Sounds like you have a full day ahead of you."

"Yeah, there is so much to do to get ready for the baby."

"There is no need to rush, you have plenty of time, I promise."

"I know, I just can't help but be excited." I laughed. "I was the same way when I found out I was pregnant with Gracie. It drove Cassie crazy."

"Oh I know she's told me all about it." She laughed. "Actually she's complains about it a lot."

"Gotta love my sister." I laughed.

"So have you gave anymore thought to the baby shower?"

"Oh you mean the one I'm not supposed to know about?" I laughed.

"Yeah that one?"

"I don't know." I sighed.

"They really want to do this for you."

"Okay fine, I give in."

"Thank you. Now are you coming to Skylar's appointment tomorrow?"

"Yeah, what time is it again?"

"11:30. We can pick you up if you would like."

"That works. Well I should go. I have lots to do."

"Okay, see you tomorrow. Oh is Grace still coming over?"

"Yeah, he should be dropping her off after the beach."

"Want me to keep him here for awhile?"

"Depends on what time they show up, if it's before 6 yes, after no he can come home."

"Sounds good. I will let you go so you can get busy."

"Okay, talk to you later."

"Bye Momma." I hit the end button and slid my phone in my pocket.

A few hours later I was in Gracie's room putting her clean clothes away when the door bell went off. I looked out her window to see if I could see who it was. I was shocked to see my Mom standing there with a guy I had never seen before.

It had been months.

With shaky hands I pulled my phone out and called Detective Adams.

"Hello."

"This is Jade Schmibt, you are still looking for my mother right?"

"Yes we are, do you know where she is?"

"Right now she's outside my house with an unknown male."

"Okay, we will be there soon."

"What should I do?"

"Don't let them inside, if you talk to them, stay outside."

"I can do that."

"We will be there soon."

"Thank you."

"Just doing my job ma'am."

"Still thank you."

"No problem. See you soon."

"Okay." I hung up and slid my phone back in my pocket.

Without thinking about it, I turned on my heel and made my way into the bedroom. I opened my bedside table drawer and pulled out my hand gun. I stuck it in the back of my pants at the small of my back.

It was asking for trouble bring my gun, but I really didn't want to be without, especial since I had no idea who my mom had brought with her. I was not going to be unprotected.

As I was coming down the stairs, my Mom started banging on the door. I just rolled my eyes and waited for the yelling to start, which would be soon.

"Jade, open this God damn door. I know you're home."

I took a deep breath and let it out before I opened the door. I stepped outside before shutting the door behind me.

"You're not going to let us in?"

"There is no way in Hell I will ever let you in my house again. Now what do you want?"

"That's no way to talk to your mother."

"Yeah, well she stopped being my Mother when she walked out of my life all those years ago, and I wish to God she would have stayed gone." I crossed my arms over my chest. "Now tell me what you want, so I can tell you no and you can get on your way."

"We need money."

"You always do." I rolled my eyes. "What is it for this time?"

"We need money to live on."

"It's called getting a job, for once in your life." I rolled my eyes.

"We need money and you don't need to know why or what we need it for."

"She didn't tell you anything about me, did she?"

He didn't say anything.

"That's what I thought." I looked back at my Mom. "You know I'm not going to give you any money, so why do you keep coming here?"

She just shrugged.

"Why don't you just get money from where you did last time?"

"They won't give me anymore."

"Well bully for you."

"Look just give us the money and we will be on our way."

"No. I'm not giving either of you anything."

"This is a waste of time."

"Daniel go stand by the car and let me talk to my daughter alone."

"Fine but make it quick. I have a bad feeling."

She just rolled her eyes as he walked away.

"Give me what I want and I won't tell him about your precious Gracie. Sometimes he likes them young." She grinned at me. "Now you wouldn't want that, would you?"

"You'd really do that to your only grandchild?" I was shaking so bad, I had to grip the hem of my shirt to keep from grabbing my gun and just shooting her where she was standing.

"A grandchild that doesn't even know me." She shrugged. "So why the hell should I care what happens to her."

"God you are such a bitch."

"You made me that way." She crossed her arms over her chest. "So what will it be? Money or your daughter?"

Before I could answer her, another car pulled into the drive way. I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief.

"What did you do?"

"What I should have done a long time ago."

~Kendall's POV~

"Hey Allie, can I ask you something?"

"What's up Kendall?"

"Our anniversary is coming up soon and after the year we've had I kinda wanna do something nice."

"What do you have in mind?"

"I have no idea." I ran my fingers through my hair. "I always have a hard time figuring out what to get her."

"What about renewing your vows?"

"I thought about that."

"And?"

"I don't know."

"After the year you two have had, it may be good for you guys."

"I agree but I was thinking of something she'd never think I would think of, ya know."

"Then go with the most off the wall thing you can come up with." She shrugged. "I'm sure whatever you come up with, she will love."

"I guess."

"What's going on in that head of yours Kendall?"

"I'm just worried."

"About what?"

"Everything, I just have this feeling that we haven't seen the last of Ryan."

"What makes you say that?"

"Just this gut feeling I have."

"Don't let it bother you, she's gone and out of all of our lives for now and that's all that matters."

"Thanks Allie."

"Daddy, come play with me." Gracie ran over to me and threw herself into my lap.

"What do you want to do?"

"I don't know." She cocked her head to the side. "What do you wanna do?"

"How about you guys build a sand castle?"

"How does that sound?"

"Do you know how to build a really good sand castle Daddy?"

"Of course I do."

"Can you show me?" She gave me her best puppy dog face, the one I could never, ever say no too.

"Sure thing Baby Doll."

"Yay, you're the best Daddy ever."

"Thank you." I kissed the side of her head. "Why don't you go get the buckets and stuff and I will show you."

"Okay." She stood up and ran over to where Carlos and Logan had been building their sand castle.

"You do know she just set you up to build the whole thing."

"I know." I laughed and looked at Allie. "I can never say no when she gives me that face."

"And she uses it every chance she gets."

"Yes, yes she does."

Gracie and I pretty much spent the rest of the afternoon building and rebuilding her sand castle. Okay, I spent most of the afternoon building and rebuilding, but it was a good day with my daughter.

By the time we got to my parents, Gracie was fast asleep in the backseat of my car. She didn't even make a sound as I picked her up and carried her inside. I took her right up to my room and laid her down on my bed. I kissed her forehead before I headed down stairs to find my Mom.

She was in her office working on paper work.

"Hey Mom."

"How's my Boy?"

"Doing good, but I need some advice."

"About what?"

"Well as you know our anniversary is coming up soon, and I want to plan something that she'll never expect. The problem is that, I have no idea what to do."

"Well what was her favorite thing doing while growing up?"

"She always said that one of her favorite thing she did growing up was mini-golf."

"Well there you go."

"Really it's that simple?"

"Why not? She's not the type of girl that needs anything fancy. So that sounds like a prefect date to me."

"Thanks Mom." I looked at my watch. "Well I shouldn't keep Jade waiting."

"Have fun Sweetheart."

"I will try. Love you Mom."

"Love you too Baby Boy."

I blew her a kiss as I walked out the door.

As much as I loved spending time with the guys and Gracie at the beach, I missed Jade. But I knew that she was getting sick of us always being around.

On the way home I stopped and picked up a bouquet of lilies.

When I got home, I found Jade in the kitchen wiping the counter. As usual she had her music blasting through the whole house. I couldn't help but stand in the doorway and watch her sway her hips the country song playing.

It had to be the sexiest thing I had ever seen. God did I ever love this woman.

Because the music was so loud I had no problem walking up behind her and hugging her. What I felt when I pulled her into shocked the Hell out of me.

Jade screamed and pulled out of my arms and turned around so fast. She put her hand over her heart and turned the music off with the other.

"What the Hell Kendall, you scared the shit out of me."

"What's sticking in your pants?"

"My gun."

"And when did you get a gun?"

"I've always had a gun." She shrugged like it was no big deal.

"And you never thought that you should inform me of this?"

"No, it never really crossed my mind."

"It never crossed your mind?" I was really starting to get pissed. "Why the Hell not?"

"Because I knew you'd freak out like this."

"And what if Gracie found it, what then?"

"She knows better than to ever touch a gun, should she ever come across one. I'm not a total idiot." She rolled her eyes. "If you have such a problem, I will teach you how to shoot it, so you don't hurt yourself."

"That's not my problem and you know it." I threw my hands up. "I don't even know why you have one."

"To protect myself."

"From who?"

"At first it was Todd after I left his sorry ass, and now from my Mother and her friends."

"You'd shoot your own mother?"

"Hell yes. Do you want to know who she showed up here with today?"

"Who?"

"A child molester, who likes little girls. She said if I didn't give her the money she wanted, she'd in from him about Gracie."

"And did you shoot her?"

"Obviously not, I'm still here aren't I?" She rolled her eyes. "The cops showed up before she pissed me off enough too."

"See you don't need it then."

"Kendall, there is nothing on God's green Earth worth me ever giving my gun up for. Not until I know my Mother can never ever hurt anyone I love or care about." She placed her hands on my chest. "Please don't ask me to give up my gun."

I sighed and pulled her to me and hugged her tight.
