The Unbreakable
Chapter Eleven

Emily held Penelope in her arms as she watched her husband pack up his bags. When Hanna told her about Micah's cheating the day before, Spencer told Emily to wait for Micah to tell her before doing anything, just to see if he would. Micah told her in the middle of the night, and Emily kicked him out of their bedroom, allowing him to either leave or sleep on the couch. Micah stayed the night, but promised to get out in the morning like his wife, soon-to-be ex-wife, wanted.
"Emily, can't we at least try to work this out?" Micah asked the beautiful woman sitting on the bed they once shared, holding their daughter.
"We can't, Micah," Emily told him. "It's not right."
Micah groaned while zippering up one of his packed suitcases. "Emily, our marriage is way more important than that woman."
"You still cheated," Emily raised her voice a little, realizing Penelope was still in her arms. "Our marriage was obviously crap. That's why you cheated on me."
"It was your fault I cheated. This isn't all me," Micah defended, immediately regretting what he said. "We haven't slept together for months! Hell, we've never even really shared a bed in how long?"
"Don't try to pin this on me. It was your choice to sleep with her." Emily yelled back, which made the six month old girl in her arms start crying.
"How long has it been since we've had sex?!" Micah asked again.
Emily gently rocked their daughter. "I don't fucking know. Six months?"
"It was seven actually. See?" Micah raised his arms in the air. "Seven months! What is a guy supposed to do?"
"Here's an idea," Emily looked at him. "Deal with it, and tell his wife. Not go out and have an affair."
"Look, I'm gonna go put Nellie in her crib, and I want us to talk. I want to let it all out." Micah held his arms out for Emily to hand him his daughter.
"Fine. Five minutes. And then I'm taking Penelope to Hanna's." Emily handed Penelope to her father.
"Fine." Micah began to walk up the stairs to his daughter's nursery while gently rocking her back to sleep.

Emily sat down at the dining room table and looked down at her hands, and slipped off her three-carat diamond wedding set. She then looked at her now ring less finger, and a little relief came over her. She realized after Penelope was born, while she was walking around that she was actually gay. She was happy she didn't have to end her marriage by her confessing to her husband that she was gay through their entire two years together, and didn't love him as much as she thought she did. She did love him, though. He was a great guy, but she didn't love him the way she had loved Maya, or Paige, or her girlfriend from college.
"I'm back," Micah announced while he entered the dining room and sat beside his wife. "I wanted to know where we went wrong, and how we could make it right."
"I don't want to make it right. I don't want to be with you any longer!" Emily told her husband, regretting what she said after she noticed the hurt in his eyes. He was a good guy, well if you forgot about his affair. He always gave Emily what she needed, and what she wanted. When she wanted to get a new house, Micah did everything to get that. When she wanted to be a mother, he was hesitant but knew she really wanted this so he agreed to have a baby. He was always there to listen to her. He was like the perfect husband that every woman wanted, except Emily.
"I'm sorry," Micah apologized before continuing. "Emily, I want you to know I did love you. I do love you. I always will. Any sane man would. But I knew since the day we got married, you never really loved me."
"Micah, don't," Emily pleaded. "I did love you. I will continue to love you for giving me Penelope. But you're right, I don't think I've ever really loved you that way."
"Emily. I know." Micah said firmly.
"Know what?" Emily asked.
"That you're gay. I kinda always had this little feeling in the back of my mind, but after Penelope was born, I noticed the way that you looked at women, and the way you looked at me." Micah told her.
Emily bit her lip and glanced back down at her ring less finger. She didn't know what to say. Her husband knew the whole time that she way gay, and didn't once bring it up. She knew she should still be furious at him for having an affair, but she really wasn't. She felt betrayed, but in a way, felt relieved that Micah finally had that kind of contact with someone that could really give him the love he deserved.
"Honey, you're not wearing your rings anymore?" Micah reached over and held onto Emily's left hand.
"Well, we're getting divorced. I'm gay, and you had an affair," Emily smiled at him. "What am I supposed to do?"
"You know, I don't want you to take the ring off until we're actually divorced. I would feel better if you wore it until it was finalized," Micah held his hand out and flashed his silver wedding band. "I'll wear mine."
"I'm kinda surprised that we're not yelling at each other," Emily admitted while she slipped the rings back on her finger. "I mean, you just found out that your wife is gay. And my husband had an affair."
"Crazy, right?" Micah laughed. "We were a great couple, Emily. I really did love you."
Emily felt a few tears fall from her eyes. She was upset because she promised herself she would never get divorced. But here she was, twenty-nine years old...getting divorced. She also felt bad because Micah had held all this in for the past few years, and never once told her how he felt. She felt bad that she wasn't able to ever love him the way he loved her.
"Em, don't cry," Micah begged. "Why are you crying?"
"I just feel bad that I can't ever love you the way you love me. At the time, I really wanted to move on from my past. Kind of break that piece of Emily off of me." Emily explained. "It felt good at the time. But after a while, I realized that piece of me was who I am. I never really felt happy after we got married."
"As hurt as I should be...it's okay," Micah told her. "It's okay that our marriage didn't work. We're completely different people, yet similar in a way. I want you to be happy. Even if that means I'm losing you. You deserve to be happy."
"Thank you, Micah." Emily pushed herself closer to him and left a kiss on his cheek.

"Sounds good. I'll get back to you by Monday with my response," Hanna said into her phone. "Alright. Thank you, Alexander."
She ended the call after hearing a goodbye from Alexander and returned to making Luca's bottle. She had just got off the phone with Alexander Larocce, an up and coming designer who was working on a new line, hoping to have Hanna Marin-Rivers collaborate with him. She was expected to move to London to accept the job, and work on the line with him for the next six months. She would make a fortune if she accepted the opportunity and moved to London but she wasn't sure if Caleb would be supportive, considering the fact she had just given birth to their second child, and he was hoping to settle down in Minnesota for the rest of their lives. This was the kind of opportunity that Hanna couldn't pass up. She had always wanted to collaborate with a fabulous designer, like herself, and have this successful line. She already had three successful lines, still going, and making her money. She had a store, and a cosmetic line as well. But come on, it was Alexander. She had to do it.

Hanna glanced back down at her son, peacefully laying in his playpen in the living room. Bryn was off to school, and Caleb was working. It was always just her and Luca. And the nanny on some days. She wanted a little more adventure in her life. Sure, she loved being a married woman, and a mother of two beautiful angels. But she could always just take her family along with her to London to start a new adventure. Caleb had always wanted to take their kids to Europe or the UK. Now was their chance to not only visit, but LIVE there.
"My sweet little Luca," Hanna gently picked her son up. "Mommy doesn't know what to do."
"Han!" Hanna heard Emily's voice coming from the front foyer of her home. She quickly placed Luca back in his playpen and made her way to greet her friend.
She was surprised to see Emily looking amazing. Emily was dressed in a white sun dress, and a pair of black sandals that matched her black handbag perfectly. Her face was glowing and her hair was perfect, as usual. She looked so happy. Hanna expected Emily to arrive in sweats, and a sweatshirt, holding nothing but a bottle of wine.

"Emily, you look amazing!" Hanna smiled and pulled her friend into a warm embrace while glancing around to see her niece. "Where's P?"
"At home with Micah." Emily told Hanna.
"Sooo?" Hanna looked serious. "What's happening?"
"We're getting a divorce," Emily announced. "And he knows I'm gay."
"Why are you still wearing your rings, though?" Hanna asked her friend once her eyes lead to the gorgeous three-carat set still on Emily's finger.
"Micah and I decided to wear our rings until our divorce is finalized. We actually get along better than we did before. It just feels so good to finally be able to be myself and just, be happy." Emily smiled.
"Aw, sweetie, that's great," Hanna gave Emily's hand a small squeeze. "I actually have something I want to tell you, too."
"What is it?" Emily asked.
"Can we go sit before I tell you?" Hanna ushered her best friend into her kitchen. "I also just made Monica go get a bunch of that passion tea you love."
"Hm," Emily raised her eyebrows while she sat down on a bar stool. "I feel like this is serious now."
"Here," Hanna placed a Starbucks cup of iced passion tea, Emily's favorite drink since she could remember. "Okay."
"Go on," Emily encouraged her friend to go on while she sipped her drink. "Mm."
"I got a call from Alexander Larocce in London," Hanna began.
"Wait, the Alexander Larocce?" Emily bit her lip. "The guy that everyone talks about? The one that launched a line with Ralph Lauren?"
"Well, ya," Hanna nodded before continuing. "Who else would it be? Anyways, he wants to collaborate with me, and create a to-die-for line. He thinks our styles would really flow right now. You know, with all the trends going on. I like the chic, he loves edgy, and colorful. Can you just imagine how amazing a Marin-Larocce line would be?"
"I'm not a fashion designer, Han," Emily reminded her friend. "I can see it being successful like all your other work but I don't really know what amazing is."
"You're right," Hanna bit her lip while she thought. "Maybe I should go see Aria. Would you mind keeping an eye on Luca?"
"Why not?" Emily smiled. "I love that little guy!"
"Great. Thanks," Hanna kissed Emily on the cheek really quick before grabbing her Celine bag and rushing through the back.

Aria Fitz pulled her car up beside the Range Rover in her driveway, knowing very well who it belonged to.
She had just got home from a doctors appointment uptown, and was exhausted. But whenever Hanna dropped by in the morning, it was either something serious or upsetting. Aria prayed that it would be good news. She had just found out that her pregnancy test wasn't accurate and she was not carrying a child. She was heartbroken but knew she would get pregnant when she was meant to. She couldn't bear anymore bad news.

"Boo, I know you're here," Aria called out while she entered her home and closed the door behind her. "Hanna!"
"Hey, Aria. How was the appointment?" Hanna asked while she appeared in the front hallway.
"Turns out, I'm not pregnant," Aria's voice cracked, but she immediately contained herself. "But what's going on? You're here at ten in the morning."
"Hey, I just happen to sleep a little longer than most people," Hanna defended before asking. "But really? You're not pregnant? Babe, I'm sorry."
"It's okay. It will happen when it's meant to happen. My doctor told me that I should try every night for the next week because I'm ovulating." Aria told her.
"Oooh," Hanna winked. "Anyways, I need to tell you something."
"Oh my god, what's wrong?" Aria asked.
"It's nothing bad." Hanna assured her.
"Then what is it?" Aria took her shoes off and began to walk into the living room, Hanna following behind her. The two women sat on separate ends of the couch.
"I got a call from Alexander Larocce. He wants to collaborate." Hanna told her.
"Oh my God, that's great!" Aria smiled. "I'm so happy for you."
"The thing is, he wants me to move to London for the next year, at the latest. And he needs an answer by Monday." Hanna said.
"Ooh," Aria bit her lip. "Did you discuss it with Caleb yet? Will he be coming with you and the kids?"
"Aria, I just got the call like an hour ago. I didn't tell him yet." Hanna sighed.
"Caleb's really supportive. He'll move with you." Aria assured her.
"No. I don't think he will. He wants our kids to grow up in Minnesota. He wants us to be here forever, and he loves his job. I can't make him quit his job, and move to the UK." Hanna took a long breath.
"That's tough." Aria agreed.
"It is." Hanna nodded.
"I'm sure it will all work itself out, though. It always does," Aria smiled.

"I love this color for the baby room," Spencer held up a piece of sandy brown cardstock. "It would work for a boy, or girl."
"Spence, we still have three months to go. We're finding out if we're having a son or daughter tomorrow. We can just wait until tomorrow to decide which color to paint our baby's room." Toby told his wife.
It was now eight at night, and they were all exhausted. Spencer talked with Hanna about the whole collaboration thing. She talked to Emily about the divorce and was helping her fill out the paper work. She was also a shoulder to cry on for a bit with Aria. To top it off, she had to work.
"You're right," Spencer nodded while wrapping her arms around Toby. "How about we get to the bedroom?"
"Mmm, that sounds great." Toby placed a soft kiss on his wife's lips, to which she complied.

"That was one of the best showers I've had." Caleb grinned at his wife while she wrapped herself in a towel.
He and Hanna just had a shower together, and shared a lot of intimacy in there. It was some of the best shower sex they had in a while.
"Same here," Hanna quickly pulled her wet blonde hair into a bun. "I'm gonna put some pajamas on. I'll be in in a few seconds."
Caleb nodded and made his way into their bedroom while Hanna entered her huge walk in closet. He slipped on a pair of boxers before getting under the covers.
Hanna reentered the room moments later, dressed in a satin Leopard print nightie. She walked over to her side of the bed and got under the covers.
Caleb and Hanna readjusted themselves into a much more comfortable position and laid there quietly before Hanna finally started talking.
"So, I got a call this morning from Alexander Larocce in London," Hanna began. "He wants to do a collaboration."
"That's great. I'm sure it will work out great." Caleb said.
"The thing is," Hanna began, unsure of what to say. "He needs me in London for the next year, starting next month."
Caleb pulled away from his wife and sat up. "Wait, what?"
"Everything will be paid for by the company. I'll get a big three-bedroom loft in the heart of London, and you always said you wanted to one day take the kids to the UK.."
"Yeah," Caleb nodded. "For a vacation! Not to move there."
"Caleb.." Hanna pleaded. "I have to do this."
"I know you have to. But," Caleb began. "I don't want to go to London. I want to stay here and work."
"Baby, can we just discuss everything tomorrow?" Hanna asked him. "I just want to sleep."
"Fine," Caleb nodded and kissed her on the cheek before laying back down. "Love you."
"Love you too."

I know this chapter is terrible. I haven't updated in the longest time, and I feel terrible.
I'm gonna continue this story now. I want to hopefully finish it by the end of the summer. I'm thinking 18 or 20 chapters would be good.
I finished my SLOTAT story, so I have much more free time now that I'm not writing anything else.

Don't worry, Haleb fans! Hanna and Caleb will eventually work everything out.
I can't wait for the season premiere next week!
I apologize for not really including Spencer in this chapter, but the next chapter will include her more.
Tell me your thoughts in the reviews!
Xoxo, love you.

PS: the more reviews...the faster the next chapter will be up!
