CHAPTER 5

Griselda's class came to an end and once the girls left, Stella couldn't help but wonder

"So I don't get it... if Alfea has a magical barrier to prevent non magic folk from entering, then how the hell do the red fountain guys get in?"

Everyone became silent when Musa passed. Flora started to talk to Bloom about how helpless she felt, being unable to do anything or say anything to change Ho-boe's decision about the marriage. Yet on the brighter side of things Musa was looking forward to meeting up with Jared.

The next day was Saturday and at last, the afternoon had arrived. After an intense workout with the girls, Musa's body was energised. She played some very Zen music while she stretched her quads, biceps, triceps, hamstring, neck, back and continued to repeat the process. After some laughs and conversations with the girls: Musa said "I'm going to hit the showers, catch ya later!"

Then Flora followed "me too, Helia wanted to go for a moonlit walk."

"How about you Techna? Anything tonight?" asked Aisha,

"New CPU project but I might order pizza" Techna replied.

"Hey Bloom, Stella! Pizza night?"

Which they both agreed to however Bloom was pretty tired and she insisted on an early night.

Back in the dorm, Musa was in the shower and her thoughts were trailing off again. Jared has been such a good friend and when she spoke to him over lunch, she honestly felt that her troubles were lifting right off her chest... and then she remembered Riven. Jared really helped Musa to keep her mind off of Riven that she actually forgot about getting advice on her 'boy problems' through Jared.

'Maybe tonight would be really good for that!' She thought to herself.

She entered her bedroom, wrapped in her towel. Looking at the blue dress Stella picked, she began to dry herself off and searched through her wardrobe for a blue lingerie set. Once she was ready, she did a make-over spell and in a split second; Musa was wearing her outfit. She set her foundation with a little powder and finished off her eye liner and mascara. After she packed a lip-gloss into her bag; Musa went into Flora's room.

"Hey flora, can I borrow your earrings?"

Flora glanced at the red rose crystal around Musa's neck and smiled at the fairy in front of her in a blue lace skater dress and red heels.

"I actually have some red rose earrings, over there."

"Thanks flora!"

Musa put her phone down next to the plant she got Flora for her 18th birthday, back in March. Little to her awareness, while Musa was putting on the pair of earrings... it looked like Flora's plant was a little hungry.

"Oh my! Musa I'm so sorry!"

Musa turned to face the mess on Flora's desk which she then said "aw shit! My phone"

"I'm so sorry Musa!"

"It's ok Flora, it eats red berries. I shouldn't have left a red phone there." She took her exit with a sigh.

Jared was waiting at the courtyard gate. He was wearing a smart white shirt topped over a pair of dark green trousers and a casual blazer.

"You look lovely, Musa" she blushed.

"Back at ya!" She got on the back of Jared's bike and headed to the Magix auditorium of sound.

After the show, Musa and Jared spoke over dinner. A place called "the nymph". An outdoor table reserved for two.

Musa began to explain to Jared how Riven has faded from her life and she doesn't know if it's good or bad. Musa really loves Riven, truly. But the silence between the two is not cool; he needs to swallow his pride and let her in and not shut himself out. Musa talked while Jared listened. He gave her advice and she agreed. "I just feel really conflicted you know. It's as if I'm actually getting torn apart!"

The conversation continued and Jared was starting to grow more and more impatient. "I got to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back." Lucky Jared finally escaped 'Riven this, Riven that...really?!' he thought to himself. Nothing spiteful, he just didn't expect to be stuck in a date where the entire damn conversation revolved around Riven.

Back inside the restaurant, someone took one look at Jared and left the restaurant while a woman was cleaning trays and another who was mixing a cocktail. The next thing Musa sees is a drink heading her way, a waitress dressed in smart black clothing and red curly hair gave a smile to Musa and said "this is from the kind gentleman on table 6"

Musa looked around to see where this mystery man could be but her focus came back to Jared. Musa should have paid attention in palladium's class because everyone knows that fairies and alcohol do not mix and this drink of all was mysteriously mixed with something else, a green powder which looked almost black... of course she never paid attention and threw it back as if the goblet in her hand was a shot. "Jared looked at Musa and grinned "I guess you're enjoying the perks of being 18."

Musa giggled and then sighed "I guess I just really needed that." And they laughed together.

Somewhere down the road in a bar not so far away was a game of pool taking place. 'The four swordsmen'.

Riven bent over to make his next move however instead of focusing on the white ball in front him, he saw something through the tavern glass, a couple sitting at a table across the street, lit by flowers and candles.

He was furious.

Riven couldn't believe that everything Helia had said was already happening!

"Hey man! You going to take your turn or what?!" A rugged man said over his cigar. Riven ended the game by shooting his last 3 balls in his turn and won the game...

"Ughh! I guess I owe you a beer" the man said reluctantly.

Riven was full of rage, just seeing Musa with Jared was enough to make him sick.

"Keep your money". Stropping off into the back which clenched fist.

Riven got into the bathroom and kicked really hard on almost every door and when that wasn't enough, he threw his fist and shattered a mirror. Funnily enough; the pain kicked in a minute later which then made him punch the wall his other hand really hard. After giving out a good beating, both his hands were completely bruised and the left was slightly bleeding from the mirror glass.

He put on his biker gloves and headed on the back door of the bar and walked through the ally. Riven heard some guys talking but didn't think much of it.

"No! We got to wait! When she's alone... we go for it."

Riven barely acknowledged their plan or what they were saying.

Meanwhile, Musa and Jared had finished their meal and Jared requested the bill. A waiter in black told him to pay "...over there, just take your bill over when you are ready to pay, thank you!" Musa was not feeling well and so Jared said "tell you what, you can wait here and I'll be right back, ok?"

"Sure..." She felt dizzy as if she had lost full control of her body.

Musa saw a guy walking down the road with his bike and as hard as he tried to hide his face, Musa knew it was Riven.

She shouted and tried to call but he never came. Riven refused to be her 'third wheel. Side dish'.

Her vision started to blur and as much as she shouted, Riven couldn't hear. He was long gone.

By the time Jared came back, Musa was long gone too.

"Musa...?" Jared went back inside to look for her; perhaps she was in the bathroom.

However the reality was... "Let me go you bastard! Help! Help...hel..." Musa couldn't transform, something was suppressing her ability to transform. She manages to kick one of the guys holding her down. Another guy sitting in the van tried to come out and get her so she slammed the door in his face; knocking him out.

Musa managed to run as far as she could and landed in Magix Local Park in her attempt to escape.

'Why didn't Riven help me?!'

Thankfully Flora and Helia were heading back to their schools. She rushed the two of them and shouted in frenzy "Flora! Helia! You have to help me!"

Flora was so worried and Helia became alert "what's happened to you, Musa?" Flora sensed something was off right away, a dark energy was resonating... but where? Who?

Musa was even more frenzied and flustered.

"I don't know Flora, I really don't know, I can't even transfo..."

Musa passed out completely, everything became a blur, and she could see Flora's face and Helia fighting off the goons. That was the end.

Musa blacked out.

I wonder what will happen next. Well let's find out in chapter 6.

Please do R+R as it really motivates me to write the story. Thanks for reading. X
