School's ending soon, so be looking forward to more updates~
I know it's a bit of a contradiction, considering how I said the opposite last time, but hey; we'll just go along with it. The arc's coming to a close soon, so I will try to wrap it up for you lil readers.
"And what exactly would we be getting?" Kogasa asked Remilia, taking her umbrella and holding it much like Yuuka would before Sparking Wriggle, the tongue lolling about idly. "Like I said," Remilia responded confidently, "Anything you or I please, however, if you lose, I doubt that you would survive for much longer after, so think of this as a fight for your lives."
"Mistress, you can't possibly mean," Sakuya gasped as she looked at Remilia in disbelief. "Yes, Sakuya, if they lose, they'll have a playdate with Flandre."
"What's so dangerous about this Flandre person?" Kogasa asked, curious at who would cause Sakuya to show fear, and what exactly Remilia meant when she said 'playdate'. "You see," Remilia leaned against the wall, as if she were about to get comfortable, "Flan is my younger sister, and like me, she wields much power. However, she is mentally unstable, and has much less control over her powers than I do, combined with her ability to somehow destroy anything; she is seen as a large threat to almost anyone. Her instability causes her to have a ...innocent mind, and her devilish ideas of play generally mean her playmates don't last long." Remilia concluded, sounding as though she's said the exact same thing many times before.
"...Well, there are plenty of leaves at the temple calling my name, so I think I'll answer them." Kyouko said as she began to walk down the corridor, but Kogasa quickly grabbed her by the arm, and said, "Wait Kyouko, we still don't know what we could get if we win," "But if we lose, we're dead!" Kyouko squeaked a defense, attempting to pull Kogasa away. Kogasa ignored her and turned to face Remilia, "but what exactly could you give is if we win?"
Remilia's face had an expression of slight boredom on it, and listed off "Oh, you know wealth, food, and a date with Sakuya or the Black-White-""Mistress," Sakuya cut Remilia off, "You never told me of this!" "What, Marisa offering her services?" Remilia turned back to look at the head maid, "She told me that she wanted to try some new things, and to tell her when someone was 'ready to enter a whole new world' or whatever that means."
Everyone besides Remilia began blushing profusely at the last comment; Kyouko immediately began coughing, while Kogasa simply looked at her umbrella and back to Remilia and Sakuya suddenly had a red had mark on her forehead, which promptly vanished. "What? Was it something I said?" Remilia asked as she looked around at the various reactions. "Nonetheless, do you accept, or decline my offer?"
"Accept!"
"Decline!"
Kogasa and Kyouko both looked at each other with a face that said 'what in the name of ZUN are you doing?!' before Kogasa quickly said, "Never mind her, we'll accept." Kyouko promptly hit Kogasa behind her head, saying "If we lose that Flandre person's gonna have to get in line, because I'm killing you first!" She was about to continue before Remilia cleared her throat, interrupting the two. There was a glint of delight in her eyes, and she pulled out a stack of spellcards from within her mobcap.
"Let's take this outside, Sakuya?"
Suddenly, the four of them were outside of the SDM, flying quite high over it. It had turned out that it was already night time in the outer world, and the moon, which had begun a new cycle, was not visible. "You are fated to entertain me tonight, how well you shall keep it with that fate, we shall find out." Remilia said as she pulled out the first card from the small stack.
"[Heaven's Punishment] Star of David!" Remilia declared, an array of lasers shooting forth from her, soon followed explosions of circular danmaku which Kogasa and Kyouko dodged. The two weaved through the spell's attacks, and it did not take long for them to find a pattern in it. They quickly followed up with a counterattack which comprised of omnidirectional attacks from Kogasa and focused fire from Kyouko. Remilia was not able to offer much resistance apart from what she was already attacking, and then spellcard soon broke.
"Not bad, not bad at all, however, an umbrella was never meant to dodge rain, [Nether Sign] Scarlet Netherworld!" Remilia said, creating what looked similar to a large cloud, and from it, shot forth what seemed to be scarlet rain at the Karakasa and Yamabiko. The two grazed several shots, and occasionally fired a bullet or two at any bullet that strayed too close to the other. It took a bit of time, but the two found the pattern and began their counter attack. Remilia danced back and forth inside her cloud of danmaku, which protected her from many of the two's attacks, however, a few of Kyouko's attacks made their way through, and while Remilia was able to dodge those, they hit the bullets behind Remilia, causing a chain reaction of small explosions, damaging Remilia and breaking the spellcard.
"No wonder you two were able to stand up against Sakuya for so long, you're able to find patterns almost as quickly as the Shrine Maiden, however, there are times when a pattern will not help you, [Scarlet Sign] Bloody Magic Square!" Remilia yelled, shooting forth several bloody knives which left behind a trail of bright red bullets that move quickly. Remilia herself flew a small distance, and threw several more knives which flew similarly to their predecessors, in a curved path. Kogasa and Kyouko were quickly separated by a wall of danmaku, and they had difficulty dodging all the shots. "Kogasa, help!" Kyouko cried as she narrowly grazed several bullets. "[Large Ring] Hello Forgotten World!" Kogasa cried, shooting forth a wide ring of bullets which protected her and Kyouko from Remilia's attack. Remilia's attack soon timed out, and she weaved through Kogasa's wall of bullets with ease.
"I had expected more from you, looks like all you can do good is dodge, [Scarlet Sign] Scarlet Shoot!" Remilia said as she continued to weave through Kogasa's attack. A red aura enveloped Remilia, and she soon shot forth several large aimed barrages at Kogasa and Kyouko, who weaved in opposite directions to dodge the incoming attack. Kogasa's previous spellcard did nothing to block the incoming attack, and huge gaping holes were left where Remilia's attack had traveled. Remilia quickly flew over a few feet, and repeated her attack, causing both Kogasa and Kyouko to weave wildly. The two were about to crash into each other, but they both flew down and dodged another barrage. The two traveled together, as they had decided that going apart was a definite no go and they fired at Remilia, who was forced to stop more often to dodge instead of dancing without interruption. The dance of dodge and attack was followed by both parties until the spellcard timed out.
Remilia panted slightly, before regaining her composure and taking out another spellcard from her stack, which was wearing thin. "Hah, looks like we've already gotten to this, so be it. It is impossible to dodge fate, and you two are fated to meet a scarlet end! [Scarlet Gensokyo]!" Remilia declared shooting many large scarlet orb danmaku that flew in a quick, circular path; they left a thick trail of danmaku which covered the sky with a deep scarlet color. The trail danmaku traveled slowly, and Remilia soon fired another batch at Kogasa and Kyouko, who were still recovering from the first attack. Kogasa quickly flew to the side, while Kyouko flew down, and the two were continuously grazing Remilia's attacks, struggling to keep up with the Scarlet Devil's attack. "Kyouko, I think we'll have to pull a Marisa!" Kogasa yelled as she positioned her umbrella so that it would be in the way of less danmaku. "What do you mean?" Kyouko yelled, deflecting several bullets with the sound waves emitted from her mouth.
"Remember that one time when she teamed up with Alice?" Kogasa yelled, "Yeah, what about it?" Kyouko said, grazing through another barrage. "Let's try it!" Kogasa yelled, pulling out a blank spellcard as she maneuvered to Kyouko, and held out her free hand with the card to Kyouko.
"[Lost Echo] A Forgotten Umbrella's Sutra!" Kogasa and Kyouko yelled in sync. Several umbrellas appeared, and flew in an outward omnidirectional attack, while many red danmaku of varying sizes appeared next to the pair and flew outwards. Several large Bubbles that captured danmaku and sent them flying towards Remilia were also formed; however, they orbited Kogasa and Kyouko slowly, protecting them. Kogasa shot bullets of varying colors outwards, filling in the gaps left by the umbrellas, and Kyouko created a barrier that kept outside danmaku from coming in the area of the barrier, one that ran from the end of Kogasa's outstretched umbrella to Kyouko's arm, enclosing Remilia inside it. Another barrier formed outside of all of the danmaku, forcing the various omnidirectional attacks to bounce back inwards, the inner barrier protecting Remilia disappeared, and all the various attacks, Remilia's and Kogasa's and Kyouko's were let free.
PICHU~N x3
"Sigh," Sakuya, accompanied by Patchouli and Koakuma, scraped the remains of Remilia, Kogasa, and Kyouko, off the side of the Mansion. "Really Mistress, you should know better than to use such attacks on anyone besides the Shrine maiden," Sakuya said, watching as Koakuma resuscitated Remilia while being instructed by Patchouli on how to do so. "Same for you two," Patchouli said, looking at Kogasa and Kyouko, "What kind of idea was it to capture a large amount of Remilia's bullets, bounce them around, add some of your own in there, and then just let them shoot all over the place? Really now..."
"It was Kogasa's idea..." Kyouko whined as she struggled to point a finger at Kogasa, but remained lying down. "But you still went along with it~" Koakuma intervened as she removed herself from Remilia, who was back up (relatively speaking), "and you went and had all that fun without me, humph" Koakuma feigned a pout, before returning back to her usual perverted nature. "Anyways, how is this match decided, you all went Pichu~n at the same time," Koakuma inquired, causing the awkward silence to return yet again (More persistent than Mokou, it is).
"I'm not too sure," Remilia said as she stood up and stretched her wings, "granted, the two did last for the majority of my attack, but they pretty much blew everything up at the last minute..."
"It was my idea~" Kogasa said as she, after being aided by Koakuma (bringing up mixed feelings about the succubus) sat up and joined into the conversation. "Ah, looks like I've taught the little ones a few things~" Koakuma said as she did a little twirl in midair, before getting hit on the head by Patchouli's rather large books.
"Just be glad that's all you taught them," the Librarian said as she caught her breath, "We don't want a miniature version of you wandering around Gensokyo." "Ah, but the more the merrier, and in more ways than one you know~" Koakuma retorted as she brought herself up to Patchouli and looked at her, batting her eyelashes, " Like that one time with the Black Wh-"
PICHU~N
A large plume of dust arose from where Koakuma was standing, and as it settled, Patchouli was visible with a very apparent blush, "You said you'd never speak of that Koa!" Patchouli admonished the reviving succubus, who was turning from a nearly invisible stain, back to the sultry succubus we all know and love (some more than others).
"Anyways, since no one really won or lost, I can't force you to play with Flan," Remilia said, looking back towards the mansion. "About that..." Sakuya said as a slight rumbling shook the very foundations of the mansion. Remilia had a look of sheer terror on her face, Patchouli face palmed, and Koakuma for once did not have a perverted smile on her face.
"Onee-chan, why are you having all the fun playing danmaku and not letting me play~?" an innocent voice called out. If Remilia was pale before, she might as well have taken a can of white spray paint and used it on her face, as her face was as conspicuous as a drunk Suika in the middle of a party.
"Flandre...?"
"Where is Kogasa anyways?" Alice asked Sanae as they finished making their way out of the Forest of Magic. "Heh, that's the annoying part, I've been looking for her for a long time, but I haven't been able to find her, that's why I came to you and Marisa." Sanae conceded, having a moment of awkwardness as Alice, accompanied by her two dolls, Shanghai and Hourai, gave her a look that said 'You gotta be kidding me'. "Neh, I'm sure that we'll be able to find Kogasa quickly though!" Sanae reassured Alice, who was beginning to regret having come along with the shrine maiden, and now that she looked at it, Alice could have sworn that Sanae had never looked that bad. Her clothes were rumpled, as if they've been slept in for at least a week, her hair was tangled and messy, and bags were beginning to be visible underneath her eyes, there was a slight tic underneath the left eye that showed whenever Kogasa was mentioned.
"Are you sure you're ok Sanae...?" Alice asked warily as she flew a few inches away from Sanae, just in case she would have to defend herself. "What?! Of course I'm ok, who said I wasn't?!" Sanae said as she quickly turned back and forth, the twitch in her eye returning. "Nobody did Sanae, now calm down and tell me, where did you last see Kogasa?" Alice said as disarmingly as she could.
"Let's see, last time I heard of her, she was in the Bamboo Forest of the Lost, but when I asked Byakuren, she said she was in the area of the Forest of Magic. So I have no idea where she is..." Sanae quickly turned depressed, Shanghai seemed to turn to Hourai and lifted one of her small fingers to her forehead, twirling it about slightly, while Hourai nodded; Alice paid no attention. "Well, have you tried asking the people of Eintei?" Alice suggested to the manic shrine maiden.
"..."
"..."
'This is going to be a long trip...' Alice thought to herself as she and Sanae flew to Eintei.
Well, looks like finals week is annoying -.- . That reminds me of a picture I saw the other day, for those of you that have seen the Hunger Games Movie, it's a picture of Effie saying "Happy Finals: May the Curve be Ever in your Favor"
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the read!
