Aladdin's POV
"You owe me ten galleons, Potter!"
I knew that voice. And there was only one voice that person would be talking to-James. I was going to kill Romana.
Pulling away from Albus, I saw the whole Weasley-Potter clan standing in front of us. Oh. Lovely. Just-flipping-lovely.
"Apparently, it's a Slytherin thing as well," Scorpius muttered to Rose, remembering the story she had told us all about James and catching Teddy snogging.
Rose covered her mouth in an attempt to not laugh.
"Uh…hi, guys," Albus said, his voice high and obviously embarrassed. "What's up?"
Mrs. Potter just shook her head. "I'm tired, I'm hungry and I have a headache. I'm just going to pretend that that didn't just happen and go inside now." With that, the red headed woman walked inside, taking just a moment to put away her broomstick.
Mr Potter rolled his eyes and quickly followed his wife inside and most everyone else went with them. Mr Weasley, Lily, Hugo, Fred and some other cousins I didn't care to remember the names of glared at me as they passed. The Professor looked conflicted, as if she was in the midst of either blaming herself or the fates. The only ones left standing in front of us were my fellow Slytherins, James and Rose.
"So, are you two together yet?" James asked crudely causing Rose to smack him upside the head. "Ow!"
"You have the emotional range of a teaspoon!" Rose exclaimed. "Don't you realize that that happened by accident! They need time to figure it out themselves, and you asking is not at all helping."
James rolled his eyes at his irate cousin, "One kiss was all it took for me."
"…and a broken nose," Romana reminded causing James to grimace and mutter, "And that, I guess."
I looked to Scorpius whose eyes were flitting between Albus and me in amusement. That could not be good.
"What are you thinking?" I asked suspiciously.
"If you two did get together," Scorpius began. "Dad will not be happy…Remember, he doesn't trust the Potters with a pet rock."
Albus raised an eyebrow. "Does that mean he thinks we turned out horribly?"
I tilted my head and thought for a second before turning to him. "He likes Rose," I decided. "But probably thinks James and you are downright pricks based on the stories we've told him."
Albus grumbled, "Great."
Rose had a look of frustration on her face. "OK, everyone," She said, grabbing her boyfriend's hand. "I think we should leave Allie and Al alone so they can work things out-without interruption."
With that, the blonde and red couple left causing Romana and James to follow closely behind.
"And then there were two," I muttered.
"Three!" Anna called as she finally made it to the porch. She doubled over, her breathing heavy. "I was in charge of carrying the snitch back and I swear Lily let it go on purpose!"
I laughed, "Come here," holding my arms open.
My little sister dropped the broom and walked over, collapsing into me. Curling her legs into her body, Anna was still small enough to sit on my lap comfortably. It seemed that she was asleep in nanoseconds.
"You're really good with her," Albus said in a hushed voice.
"Yea," I shrugged. "I guess this was my chance for a do-over sister relationship."
Albus rolled his eyes, "You know you did nothing wrong. Helena was just a bitch." He looked at me for a moment. "So…what are we going to do? I mean, after that…"
"I don't know," I sighed. "I'm not really that good with the whole 'relationship' thing."
Hurt seemed apparent in his eyes and I worked hard to back track. "What I mean is that…god, you don't get it, Al. When you're in an orphanage, you fend for yourself, and you don't get attached to people because sooner or later they just leave!"
"But I can't leave," Albus reminded causing my reasoning to fall through. "We can go slowly," He promised. "As slow as molasses if you want."
A small smile found its way onto my face as I looked over at Albus. He was once again looking at the ground, his hands clasped on his lap. Leaning over, I gave him a small, chaste kiss on the cheek.
Taking that as a yes, a smile became apparent on Al's face and he put his arm around me. I laid my head on his left shoulder and he put his cheek on top of my head. Anna was nestled between the two of us as we watched the stars.
When we finally came in, it became apparent that all of the kids had been pulled into a game of truth or dare. Or as I not-so-fondly called it in my head-Hufflepuff or Gryffindor.
Romana and Scorpius had been dragged into it, along with Albus, Rose, Lily, James, Hugo, Fred, Roxanne (George's daughter), Victoire, Dominque, Louis (Bill's children), Lucy and Molly (Percy's kids). With my knowledge, and the help of Daily Prophet, I knew that Fred, Victoire, Dominque, and Roxanne were in Gryffindor along with all of the Potter kids and obviously Rose and Hugo. Lucy and Louis were in Hufflepuff while Molly was a Ravenclaw. Interesting fact about Lucy, she was only ten, however, her magical levels were as strong as an eleven year olds, allowing her early entrance into Hogwarts. That was all over the Daily Prophet.
"Hey, Aladdin, Albus!" Romana called from the circle she was sitting in in the living room. All blankets and blow up mattresses had been moved so that the circle were sitting on the floor. "Come join us."
Albus rolled his eyes and quickly took a seat between Dominque and Molly. I laid Anna down on an air mattress in a quiet corner of the room and sat down between James and Scorpius, right across from Fred.
"OK, who wants to start?" Lucy asked excitedly.
Molly was chosen to start and she turned to Dominque, who was using a nail filer on her nails. I remembered her sorting, it was quickly decided that she was a Gryffindor, though she was exceedingly vain. If my memory served me right, she was currently a third year.
"Truth or Dare?" Molly asked.
"Hm…dare," Dominque decided in an offhanded tone.
Molly thought for a second, before a wicked smile came onto her face. "I dare you to kiss Scorpius."
"Excuse me?!" Scorpius squeaked eyes wide. Rose did not at all seemed please.
"What?" Molly asked looking between those two. "Is there something you want to tell us? With my knowledge, your both single."
That girl should be in Slytherin, I decided as Dominque gave Scorpius a brief kiss before they both pulled back with identical looks of disgust.
The game continued on without many interesting things. Mostly dares were chosen, and they had to do things like eat a disgusting blend of spices and expired foods or say something ridiculous or embarrassing to one of the adults. Romana and I hadn't been chosen and Scorpius had only been given attention that first dare. However, it was not to be.
It was Fred's turn and he turned to Romana. "Truth or Dare."
Romana, deciding to play it safe, said, "Truth." The look of mischief on the red head's face made me believe that she had chosen the wrong answer.
"Who is your mother?" He asked. James perked up at this while Scorpius and I tensed.
Romana went to go take off her sock, signaling that she was forfeiting that question.
"Oh, come on!" Dominque groaned sassily. "It's not like he asked you a hard question."
"Hey," I said, defending my friend. "Leave her alone."
"We could easily just go to St Mungo's and get her birth certificate, why does it even matter?" Dominque asked with a glint in her eye. "Who's your mother, Sattler? And why are you so afraid to tell us? Is it because she's a death eater who ran away? Are you just here to kill us all while we sleep? What's with the sleeves, even? Have you realized how many rumors have gone around that you never show your arms? Why is that, hm? Are you sca-"
I could clearly see that Romana was getting angrier and angrier at each passing question, and eventually she just rolled up her shirt sleeves. Knowing what resided, I looked away while I heard the others gasp.
Due to the fact the wizarding world believed Bellatrix dead, Bellatrix still had her wand and magic. With that, she tortured her children, Romana was the youngest and the only one to survive past the age of ten. On her arms, written with a knife that Bellatrix controlled with a knife, were horrible, terrible things including: useless, traitor, slut and many more. The one that was most prominent was written very large on her left forearm-Half-blood. That was the only one that Romana didn't mind as much though she knew Bellatrix thought it the worst.
"You don't know me," Romana growled glaring at Dominque. "So stop thinking that you do."
With that, she stood up and walked to an air mattress next to Anna's to lay down on, turning away from the group.
"Well," Louis, who I believed was in Sixth year. "I think that is enough excitement for today. Good night, everyone."
I laid down on the same mattress as Anna, for there were only so many and I watched as siblings slept together as well. Rose and Hugo slept together while Albus and Lily slept back to back on the mattress closest to Anna and I. James laid down next to Romana and held her to him silently. I suspected Romana to pull away, but it seemed as if she actually scooted closer to him to my surprise.
Rolling my eyes at my thoughts of how badly they were keeping this a secret, I noticed Anna started mumbling and suddenly her eyes shot open. She seemed on the verge of a panic attack.
"Shh, shh," I calmed. "It's OK."
"I had a nightmare," She explained quietly. "Allie, you're gonna be fine…right?"
Well…that was a surprise. "Of course!" I exclaimed quietly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
"There's a rebellion," Anna said sullenly. "And you have to fight it."
"Yes, I do." I sighed.
Anna let out a sigh. "I love you."
"I love you, too, Anna," I sighed, giving her a hug. "I love you, too."
The morning found Romana and me to be up at the crack of dawn. Romana explained to me about how she had moved and fallen off the mattress thus waking her up. I told her how I usually got up early to help Astoria with breakfast causing Romana to demand me to cook her breakfast.
That was how I was found making pancakes at six AM while Romana stood to the side chattering quietly while I didn't listen. I did take note of how, for the first time, Romana was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt.
Just as I was plating the first pancake a cry of surprise came from the doorway. I lifted my head up and noticed Mrs. Grandma Weasley and Professor standing in the doorway.
"Morning," I said as I handed Romana the pancake. "I hope you don't mind me using your kitchen."
"No!" Mrs. Grandma Weasley exclaimed after a moment. "Of course not, dear. Thank you, actually. I was actually about to start breakfast myself, but it looks like you've got it covered. How could you make
I laughed slightly as I plated another pancake for I knew Scorpius would be up soon-he never could resist the smell of pancakes. "I've got some practice. There were a lot of kids to feed when I was growing up and somehow the chore of cooking always got passed to me."
"Where did you grow up?" Mrs. Grandma Weasley asked in surprise.
"East London Orphanage." I replied as Scorpius walked into the room. I handed him the plate and he nodded before sitting at the table next to Romana.
As I set to making the next pancake, I barely noticed Mrs. Grandma Weasley's look of shock. I had just poured the batter when I was gently pushed away.
"I'll take if from here, dear," Mrs. Grandma Weasley said with a smile. "You just, go sit down."
I gave her an odd look before I sat down at the table, opposite to Romana. After a few seconds, Romana turned to Professor.
"Why the bloody hell are you staring at me?" She demanded, obviously on edge.
"What happened to your arms?" Professor asked, ignoring Romana's previous question.
"Nothing." Romana muttered turning back to her food.
I watched Professor roll up her left sleeve to her elbow and exposed a light pink scar stating 'Mud-blood'. My eyebrows shot up and I looked at Scorpius who had obviously seen it, too. It was written in the same handwriting as Romana's multiple scars.
"Um…Romy?" Scorpius said, tapping her shoulder.
Romana looked at him. "What?" She spat.
He gestured to Professor and when Romana looked at her, her jaw slackened. She looked down at her arm and then at Professor's, then back to her own.
A small, sideways smiled made its way to Professor's face. "We match."
"Does that mean-do you…" Romana stumbled off.
"Romana, is your mother Bellatrix Lestrange?" Professor asked.
Romana sighed, knowing the gig was up and nodded just slightly.
"What the hell is going on in here?" Mr Weasley grumbled as he stumbled into the kitchen, breaking the awed silence. He took sight of his wife's rolled up sleeve. "Er…" He looked at his mother. "What's 'Mione doing?"
Romana shook her head to break the stupor and clearly felt much more self-conscious about her exposed arms, leading me to give her my jacket. It may have been alright for a little while, but with her mother's name being out in the open, she was clearly put back on edge once again.
"Nothing, Ronald," Professor laughed, rolling her eyes. "Just talking to our guests."
Out of nowhere a plate with pancakes was placed in front of me with a glass of what looked like orange juice.
"Eat up," Mrs. Grandma Weasley said cheerfully. "You are far too thin, deary."
When she left, I could've sworn my cheeks were the color of tomatoes.
"I like her," Romana decided, taking a bite of pancakes Mrs. Grandma Weasley just brought her.
"Of course you do," Scorpius grumbled. "She just gave you free food. You'd like my grandparents if they gave you free food."
Romana was about to protest, but then just shrugged. "Maybe."
I snorted and rolled my eyes at my friend. If she could marry food, the lord knows she would.
OK, don't kill me! I know you all really want to see Aladdin blow up, but you have to WAIT. She needs to become liked and better known by people other than just kids so that she doesn't make things worse for herself by blowing up. But it will come. IT WILL.
On the other hand, hey, we've got Parter (I just realized you can't combine their first names...oops.) finally! And Romana had a sort of mini-blow up/bonding moment with Professor. Due to the fact that they aren't at Hogwarts, Aladdin has taken to calling Professor Granger-Weasley just Professor.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the CHAPTER (I noticed last time I said story and scared a few of you-sorry, for some reason story and chapter merged into the same thing in my mind. I'm blaming the fact I upload these at basically midnight my time, currently one AM right now...lovely.)
