Sorry for not updating in so long + I know it's short but because this part of the story is so influential I'm splitting it between characters all parts will be updated in quick succession this is : Haldir and Bellariäl (Lea's mum)
Haldir eventually found Lea's mother after almost an hour of searching, alone and wandering aimlessly about the grounds.
"Beautiful isn't it ?" He questioned her.
"What is ?" She was obviously startled by his appearance but would not give him the satisfaction by owning up to the fact.
"The city, the forest, Lothlorien is beautiful, is it not ?"
"not nearly as beautiful as Imladris, not even as beautiful as Greenwood as I remember it, but of course my birthplace is now in a state of disrepair." She stated, Haldir could not be sure but he thought that he saw emotion in her cold eyes, hurt that her home had been so badly injured.
As Haldir didn't speak she carried on "Funny isn't it, make the joke then get it over with." At his puzzled expression she continued, "I've turned as has Greenwood to Mirkwood I have morphed from an ellith to a cruel and selfish old witch." She smiled.
Haldir was shocked, she had smiled even made a joke. He was even more shocked when she grabbed his arm and turned him towards a staircase.
"If you don't mind Marchwarden I am indeed a little lost." The walk to the guest talan was silent.
When they arrived the woman turned to Haldir thanked him cordially then surprised him yet again, "Now... nobody will ever hear of what happened this evening is that clear ?" She told him, practically commanded.
Haldir stood in shocked silence for a while before she started speaking again. "you may think me strange but the thing is I have had a few too many glasses of wine this eve and i fear I have now done something I will later regret. We are not on friendly terms. You will not have my daughters hand. She will marry whom I choose. And finally you will not try to stop her leaving, she will be leaving that is final."
"Actually my lady, your word is not law here, I am March Warden of these woods and you will watch your tongue which you are lucky to still have in your possession after your blatant disrespect of my Lord and Lady. Is that clear ?" He replied, his starhre that of what he uses when commanding his men. "Finally, will not have my future wife harmed, hurt or disrespected by a foreigner, you would do well to remember that you are the guest in my woods and I will be all too pleased to see your exit of them which I may arrange sooner rather than later. I have that power. Is that clear to you ?"
"Ha, very well Marchwarden, you have my apology for disrespecting your Lord and Lady." She nodded her head in respect .
"Maybe I am making some progress " Haldir thought yo himself.
She turned and made her way to the door opening it but befor heading inside she continued, "However, my daughter is my own and you should recall that she is also a foreigner in these lands, she has a past warden, one you may not be so pleased to hear about... Still that is not my story to tell I shall leave those tales to your fair betrothed." She finished with a sneer before closing the door on the conversation.
"Infuriating elith, who in arda does she believe herself to be ?" Haldir asked himself. "What a shame for Lea having to grow up under such an influence its amazing that the poor child didn't crack under the pressure ..." Haldir was cut off.
"In all honesty Haldir it sounds a lot like Lea did crack under the Pressure." Celeborn smiled.
"My Lord I apologise I was lost in thought ..."
" No need Haldir, I must be on my way." Both elves nodde curtiously to one another befor carrying on their path.
Haldir's head was swimming with questions. "What did Lea do ? Did honestly claim her to be my future wife ? " and more, what was bothering Haldir most was the fact that when he claimed Lea as his betrothed it was unintentional and now he was beginning to feel that it was true, he was in too deep and he didn't want out.
"Foolish warden, what does a man who spends his life pracing about in the dense woods with only the company of other men want with my daughter ? She could be so much more, she could hold the key to our families success, married to the right lord she could make me rich, famous." She sighed, "I had to marry the pauper, my eldest daughter had to marry that knight, a knight in shining armour, indestructible, but so easily cut down by orcs ! , she could be a lady a queen, I will make that happen, the Gods know that it will be for her own good."
She was startled from her thoughts by Colion entering the talan, "Bella, what worries do you face now meleth ?"
"Nothing of your concern ." She replied coldly "Why did I never listen ?"
Colion laughed walking up to his wife, "I may not be sure what you are speaking of meleth nîn but I shall guess nonetheless, you still fret on old decisions to marry poor old me ?"
"Regrettably." She steadied herself with a hand on his shoulder.
"Ah, and it still hurts me Bell." he smiled sadly looking into her eyes.
"why is it Colion that i cannot lie to you ?" Before he could speak she silenced him with a chaste kiss, "you know that I love you, I always have, but life is not all about our happiness what of the consequences ?"
Embracing her fully he replied, "As I have told you before and no doubt shall again, your life is your own Bell, you married I a humble old elf, we have many beautiful childen, and so many great memories before and after their births, I know that you worry but will you not give them the chance of this life that you have had. A paupers life to be sure ..."He laughed winking, "We barely have enough gold and the stronghold we keep is much too small, we only have enough to keep our great grandchildren in pocket !"
She interrupted, "But meleth, that all was almost insignificant, you gained it all through fighting, bleeding and almost losing your life, there was no guarantee that you would become such a valued sword, you say yourself that surviving battle is pure luck, not just your over exaggerated skills." She smiled at the last part.
"Even still, do you not believe that our children deserve a love like ours ?" He concluded.
"Aye my love, you are right again." This kiss was not so chaste.
