Chapter 7: Mt. Moon Takeover
Me, Dark and another man with black raven hair with glasses are inside the studios going over the scripts, making sure that the next chapters make sense.
Me: So, what do you think?
?: It's good. Could use a bit more work, but good nonetheless.
Dark: Well it's not finished yet anyway. We're only one-third done with the chapter so far.
?: ... That makes WAY too much sense.
Me: So Sora, ready to end us off?
Sora: Sure thing. *Turns to audience* I hope you all enjoy the next chapter that we have supplied for you all and once again, thank you for your reviews. Hope you all have a good day/night, and we shall see you all later.

It's been a day since Kidan, Cealy and Sora's gym battle with the Pewter City's Gym Leader, Brock. After Kidan won his first gym badge, Cealy was next to challenge him.
It started out with Brock using Geodude again with Cealy using Spree, or Venomoth. It was a close battle but the first round was won by Cealy's Spree using her Stun Spore attack enough to finish Geodude off with Gust and Leech Life. The second round was a bit short considering Brock using Onix use the Rock Slide and Bind combo. With Spree in a weak condition, the second round was won by Brock's Onix. Though the third round was quite the battle. Cealy used Bulb, or Bulbasaur, since Bulb was a Grass-type Pokemon, it had a full advantage against Onix. The battle was close but was won by Bulb's Leech Seed and now its new move, Razor Leaf, combo attack, able to bring down the giant rock snake in a matter of seconds.
The last challenge was against Brock and Sora. The first round started with Geodude and Sora's new Pokemon, Eevee. It was a tough battle but Eevee was able to beat Geodude with a Sand Attack and Swift attack combo in the end. The second one was against, like the last two battles, Brock's Onix. However, Brock had Onix burrow underground and use Bind on Eevee like he did with Kidan's Char, or Charmander. With low staminia and health, Eevee was beaten. The third round was quick however, considering Sora using Squirtle in the match. Squirtle was able to beat Onix quickly by using Water Gun and Bubble combo, enough to once again bring down Brock's Onix.
In the end, Kidan, Cealy and Sora all gained the Boulder Badge from Brock. On their way out, Brock gave them the directions to the next gym in Cerulean City. In order to get there, they would have to travel through Route 3, which was worth a half day's walk, then pass through Mt. Moon, which was about a few hours to walk and then go through Route 4 which was another half day's walk.
Now they continue their journey towards Cerluean City as the group decides to take a quick lunch break before moving on towards Mt. Moon.
"Man, I can't believe it... my first gym badge," Kidan stated with awe as he looked at the Boulder badge in his badge case. "It seems like this is all but a dream."
"Well you better wake up cause its not," Sora stated munching on his sandwich. "Because now you have seven more badges to collect."
"We all do," Cealy pointed out drinking her bottle of water. "And once we get all seven, we get to participate the Pokemon Kanto League."
"Yeah I can't wait either!" Kidan excitedly exclaimed to her. "Which means more training and travelling to do so. And to catch more Pokemon for our team. Right Char? Slice?"
Beside them all was Kidan's Pokemon Char and Slice, all eating their Pokemon food, along with Cealy and Sora's Pokemon Bulb, Grace, Spree, Squirtle, Eevee and Sora's recent captured Pokemon, Spearow, who were also eating their own food.
'Yep! Though I bet the next gym leaders are gonna be a TOTAL breeze!' Char stated with alot of confidence.
'Don't get too ahead of yourself Cha,' Bulb pointed out. 'There's still alot of strong trainers out there than just Brock, you know.'
'Yeah, but I bet they'll be easy to beat,' Char commented to Bulb after taking a bite from his food.
'I wouldn't be too sure Char. Remember what happened to both you and Slice yesterday?' Spree pointed out. Slice beated Geodude, but was then slammed by Onix last. Even you had a hard time facing Onix alone. If it weren't for your Metal Claw, you could have lost.'
'Oh you guys worry too much!' Char replied to them. 'Me and Slice will win the next gym battles easily! Right Slice?'
'Oh, uh... right,' Slice replied just now being snapped out of his own thoughts. It appeared that he was pondering deeply, tuned out from the other Pokemon's conversations.
'You okay there Slice?' Spearow asked him.
'Sort of...' Slice replied to him lowly.
'... Does it have to do with yesterday's battle with Onix?' Squirtle asked.
Hesitantly, Slice nods to him slightly. Ever since yesterday's gym battle, he felt terrible from his quick defeat aginst Onix just after beating Geodude with a couple of moves. Losing in front of Kidan took a major tole on him. He felt like he had failed himself and Kidan.
'Hey don't worry too much about it Slice,' Grace said to him. 'We always have our days. Yesterday was just not your day is all. And besides, like they always say, 'you win some and you lose some.' Doesn't mean that it's the end of the world.'
'Yeah,' Slice replied to her almost in a whisper though not convinced.
"Looks like Slice is taking yesterday's match pretty hard," Cealy pointed out watching Slice being glum.
"He's been like that since we took him to the Pokemon Center," Kidan said in concern. "I'm a bit worried for him."
"He did a great job against Geodude in the first round," Sora said. "I don't see why he would be so sad about it."
"I think the defeat from Onix within two minutes was a total let down to him," Kidan explained to them. "He doesn't want to be put into the PC Storage like any other Pokemon. That's why he left to become stronger and more reliable so he wouldn't be sent to the PC."
"Hoepfully he gets over it soon," Sora said finishing his lunch.
"Maybe you should talk to him Kidan," Cealy suggested. "He trusts you more than he does with us."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Kidan agreed with her as he got up. He walks over to Slice and the others as he sits next to him. "Hey, you okay buddy?"
Slice just silently nods his to him slowly.
"... You know, it WAS your first time facing an official gym leader and his Pokemon Slice," Kidan pointed out. "And not every Pokemon can always defeat their first Pokemon in seconds. You should feel proud that you beated Geodude with your speed and strength!"
'But I didn't even get a chance to face Onix at all. He just threw everything he had at me like I was a empty cup,' He replied sadly. 'I didn't even get to attack him at all. Not once.'
"Hey, don't feel pity because of that!" Kidan said sternly to him. He didn't want his own Pokemon to feel sad because of just on lost. "Your a great Pokemon Slice, and I'm very proud to have you on my team! If you think you need to do some training, then I'll help you all the way! With everyone's help, you'll be stronger than before!"
'You really mean that?' Slice asked him with a slight light of hope.
"Slice, if I didn't want you in the team... wouldn't you not be here right now, with all of us?" Kidan asked him seriously.
Slice then realized that Kidan was right. He should've known that from the start. If he wasn't welcomed by everyone, then why would he be here right now with Kidan and the others? And if Kidan didn't want to train him, then why was he still here? He turns to Kidan and gives him a smile. 'Yeah, your right. All I need to do is train more. Then I'll be stronger!'
"That's the Slice I know!" Kidan said with enthusiasm as he petted Slice's head.
"Well, we're all done with lunch," Sora stated sitting up and stretching. "Should we get ready to move on?"
"Yeah, we should try to get to Mt. Moon before it get's too late," Cealy said turning to Kidan and their Pokemon. "You ready to go Kidan?"
"Yep," Kidan replied to her as he stood up. "Alright guys, time to go."
The Pokemon all nodded as Kidan, Cealy and Sora all returned their Pokemon back to their respectful Pokeballs. They packed up their leftover lunches into their bags and headed out to Mt. Moon.
Evening finally hit as Kidan, Cealy and Sora finally made it to Mt. Moon. It was a large mountain that blocked Route 3 of Pewter City and Route 4 of Cerulean City. The history of Mt. Moon is that many believe that Pokemon from space came to their planet and hid themselves inside the mountain. However, they were only legends and myths.
"Well, we made it," Kidan said with a loud yawn.
"Should we camp outside for now and then go through Mt. Moon in the morning?" Cealy asked them.
"That would be best. I actually would be afraid to sleep in the cave... with all those strange noises you always hear." Sora replied.
"Like what?" Kidan asked him.
"You know, strange 'noises'." Sora said stating it with obvious. "I don't need some ironic noises to wake me up!"
"Alright then, let's camp out here and head through the cave in the morning." Cealy said before giving off a yawn of her own.
They all agreed and started to set up camp by Mt. Moon's entrance. They all each got into their sleeping bags and began to fall asleep. A few hours later, all of them were soundly asleep, except for Kidan, who had alot on his mind and wasn't able to fall asleep. He tossed and turn to get comfortable but wasn't having any luck. He pulled out his PokeGear and checked the time.
"12:07 AM in the morning..." He whispered to himself annoyed. After being so tired of walking, he would have thought that he would sleep better. His thoughts were wrong. "Maybe a bit of walking can help me fall asleep. See if I can let out some energy left form my systems."
Kidan quietly got out of his sleeping bag so he wouldn't wake up Cealy nor Sora and grabbed his vest and his Pokeballs just for precaution. He walks around the side of Mt. Moon and the entrance for a bit, trying to get some energy out of his system.
"Man, it sure is beautiful at night," Kidan said to himself gazing at the night sky with bright stars. "Wonder what it would be like if I was on top of Mt. Moon and looking at the stars from there with Cealy."
Suddenly, after realizing what he said made him blush. "I-I mean... with Cealy and... aww damn it! I just HAD to say that!" He started to blush even more after considering the thought. He shook his head quickly and tried to think of something else. "You know, I wonder what the Cerulean City Gym Leader is like? It sounds like some type of a Water-type gym or something."
As he was lost in his own thoughts once again, he didn't even see or realize that he bumped into a figure that was coming from the right side where the entrance was. They both fell to the ground hard. Kidan slowly got up as he rubbed the back of his head, trying to figure out what happened.
"Ow! That's gonna hurt in the morning." He said to himself. He turned to his right and saw a strange creature that was pink with black pointy ears had curled up puffed hair on its forehead with stubby arms and legs with a little twisted tail on its back, along with fairy-like wings. After taking a moment to figure out what it was, it finally hit him. "A Clefairy?"
"Clefairy?" The wild Clefairy questioned as it tilt it's head.
Kidan pulled out his PokeDex that he brought just in case and scanned the Clefairy.
"... So, Clefairy is the Fairy-like Pokemon. It can bring happiness to those who gather around a group of Clefairy under a full moon and apparently the moonlight that it stores in it wings on it's back apparently gives it the ability to float in midair," Kidan read from the PokeDex before putting it away. He then looks back to the Clefairy. "What are you doing out here outside your home? Are you lost?"
'Please, you have to help me! My friends are in trouble!' Clefairy exclaimed frantically waving its arms all over the place.
"Huh?" Kidan replied confused.
'Oh crap, I forgot humans can't understand Pokemon! Oh no... what am I gonna do?' she said to herself hopelessly.
"Now wait a minute... what do you mean your friends are in trouble?" Kidan asked Clefairy in a serious and yet curious tone.
'Huh? You... you can understand me?' She asked him hopefully and a bit astonished.
"Well yeah, I have the ability to talk to Pokemon when I was younger," Kidan said to her. "But besides that, tell me what happened to your friends."
'Well, it happened just recently; We were all gathered under the full moon on top of Mt. Moon, celebrating the anniversary of the Clefairy and Moon Stone, which would help evolve our fellow Clefairy into Clefable. But before we could begin, a group of people wearing 'R' signias on their shirts came along and wrecked our celebration. We all tried to run, but most of us were captured and caged up. I'm the only one that was able to escape them. And now I need help to rescue them!' Clefairy explained to him with concern.
"Wait, did you say the people were wearing 'R' signias on their shirts?" Kidan asked suspiciously.
"Y-Yes. Do you know them?' She replied to him.
"It must be Team Rocket who's causing havoc inside Mt. Moon." Kidan concluded presuming that was the cause.
'Who's Team Rocket?' She asked.
"They're a group of people that steal other people's Pokemon from either their own trainers or habitat. Their goal is to conquer the Kanto region. But why would they be here in Mt. Moon?" Kidan questioned.
Clefairy started to think for a moment before realizing something. 'They must be after the Moon Stone we collected!'
"Moon Stone? Why would they be after that?" Kidan asked her curiously.
'The Moon Stone allow our own Clefairy to evolve in Clefable like I said. But they don't just evolve us, they can evolve a few other Pokemon that need the Moon Stone in order to evolve as well,' She explained to him.
"That's probably why they're here! To get the Moon Stone so they can forcefully evolve other Pokemon!" Kidan said finally realizing their true intentions.
'We have to stop them before they take our Moon Stone!' Clefairy said with concern.
"Don't worry, I'll help you guys get your Moon Stone back. And also help free your friends," Kidan said with confidence. "Oh, by the way, I'm Kidan Hikura."
'Its nice to meet you Kidan. Now come on, I know where they're being held!' Clefairy exclaimed to him as he followed her inside Mt. Moon.
Meanwhile, inside the caves of Mt. Moon were Agents Chelse and Darek who were instructing their grunts of their work. The cave room they were in was all lit up brightly filled with tons of crates and a few mining machines. Some of them were already operational, mining through the walls of Mt. Moon as a few grunts controlled them. On the left side of the room, however, were a little more than a dozen steel cages, filled with no other than the Clefairy themselves. Most of them looked sad and gloomy, but mostly frightened by the Team Rocket Grunts and their officers. They saw a few of them going over an opened crate filled with their Moon Stone, ready to be taken out of Mt. Moon.
"Sir, we have collected all the mined Moon Stone in the area. Our men are now mining through the walls in search for more in the next sectors," one of the grunts reported to Darek and Chelse.
"Excellent. Have the grunts keep their digging and mining til' they find more Moon Stone. And make sure that we captured ALL of the Clefairy in the mountain. Understood?" Darek ordered the grunt.
"Yes sir!" The grunt complied as he returned to his post.
"Your actually finally getting the hand of this Darek," Chesle pointed out. "I was wondering that you would be a complete idiot."
"Gee, thanks," Darek said sarcastically and offenced. "I'm just happy that this mission was a complete success. With no one to stop us, the Moon Stone in Mt. Moon and the Clefairy will belong to the boss."
"Just make sure not to screw up," Chelse told him.
"Well, remember this, if I do screw up, which I won't, then you'll screw up as well, considering now that we're partners," Darek pointed out to her grinning.
"Yeah, yeah, I heard ya'," Chelse said to him getting the point.
"So this is where Team Rocket is operating at?" Kidan whispered with disbelief and in an anger tone, observing them all from the top of the small hole that was big enough for him to fit in. "Right in your own home?"
'Yes. Since we all live here, they thought that making their plans and all would be better if it was where we all lived together. They're just ruining our lives because of this,' Clefairy whispered sadly to him.
Kidan watched them as he saw a few grunts mining their way through the wall, no doubt looking for Moon Stone he thought. He turned his attention to another group of grunts that surrounded the open container filled with Moon Stone.
"Is that all your Moon Stone Clefairy?" Kidan whispered to her.
'Mm-hm. That's all our precious Moon Stone that was supposed to be offered in the anniversary celebration,' Clefairy whispered back.
Kidan looks over to the other side to see a little more than a dozen steel caged Clefairy all inside firghtened, saddened and depressed. "I see your friends."
'Where?!' Clefairy whispered in concern. Kidan points to the direction of the Clefairy that were all caged up in the corner. 'My friends... they're all look so afraid and sadden.'
Kidan, feeling hurt for Clefairy and her friends, turns his attenton to the two officers in the corner, observing the grunts walking around and working. "Darek and Chelse? They're here too?"
'You know those people?' Clefairy whispered to him curiously.
"Yeah. I ran into Darek back about a week ago in Professor Oak's Lab. He and his goons were trying to steal my partner and the other Pokemon. As for Chelse, me and my friends ran into her in Viridian Forest a few days ago, taking down the forest and capturing the innocent Pokemon from their homes by her own goons," Kidan whipsered back to her angrily.
'That's horrible! How could they do such a thing?!' Clefairy whispered a bit shocked.
"I don't know, but I don't care," Kidan whipered to her reaching something from his belt. "Anyone who hurts innocent Pokemon or people for their own selfish reasons, there's no way I'm letting them get away with it."
'Wh-What are you gonna do?' Clefairy asked him as he stood up as mucha s he can inside the hole.
Kidna smirks at her confidently. "I'm gonna free your friends and beat these guys, one way or another."
And not without a moment to lose, Kidan jumps down from the hole and slides down the wall, hiding behind a large crate that was closed up. He watched a grunt passed by and moved over to another crate, leading himself to the caged Clefairy. One by one, he snuck across the crates and machinery as he finally reached the cages.
"Clefairy?" A few of the Clefairy spoke.
"Shh... don't worry, I'm getting you guys out of here." Kidan whispered to them.
As he was about to unlock one of the cages, he felt a strange presence behind him a he narrowed his eyes. At that moment, he moved to the side quickly as purple needles came rushing towards where he was standing, hitting the ground and a few on the cages. He looked to see who was attacking him as he saw Ekans, Darek and Chelse glaring at him with smirks on their faces.
"Well, well, look what the Meowth dragged in. I'm a bit suprised to see you here again, kid." Darek said smugly.
"Darek and Chelse, what are you guys doing here?!" Kidan demanded, though he figured it was pretty obvious what they were gonna say, but wanted to know if there was more than they lead on.
"Why, we're simply taking some Moon Stone and Clefairy back to the boss," Chelse simply said to him. "So why are you here?"
"Well, part of it being from travelling through here, I'm pretty much here to stop you guys again," Kidan stated smirking confidently.
"Really? You and what army?" Darek asked him.
"Th... okay, I have no comeback for that," Kidan replied in defeat. "But that ain't gonna stop me from beating you guys!"
"We'll see about that," Chelse smirked evily tossing a Pokeball into the air. "Go... Oddish!"
Emerging from the ball was a Weed-like Pokemon. It was small and had a round blue body. It had very small feet that stood next to each other and had long leaf-like weeds sticking out on top of it's head, looking like hair. Kidan pulls out his PokeDex and scans Oddish.
"... Okay, so Oddish is the Weed-like Pokemon. During the day it stays in the cold underground to avoid the sun and it grows by bathing in the sun. It also walks about one thousand feet on its two roots," Kidan read before putting the PokeDex back into his pocket. "Alright then, if it's gonna be like that, then so beat it. Go, Slice! Char!"
Emerging from the balls were the Fire Lizard-like Pokemon, Char, and the green Mantis-like Pokemon, Slice, as they both stood next to each other.
"A Scyther? That's a new one," Chelse examined with a bit of awe. "But it won't save you from us. Oddish, use Acid on Scyther!"
"Ekans, use Poison Sting on Charmander!" Darek commanded.
"Char, use Ember on Ekan's Poison Sting! Slice, use Quick Attack on Oddish!" Kidan commanded his two Pokemon.
Both Char and Slice nodded as Char shot a wave of small fire balls at Ekans and it's Poison Sting attack, burning them all down quickly as the remaining flames hit Ekans directly, causing it to burn a bit. Slice quickly moves out of the way from Oddish's Acid attack that hit the ground and left the floor oozign with purple hot toxic acid. Slice moves left to right quickly as he emerges in from of Oddish who was suprised and hits it directly in front, sending it flying right at Ekans. They both collided and toppled into a pile as they struggled to get up.
"Ekans, get back up and use Poison Sitng again!" Darek ordered.
"Get up and use Acid one more time Oddish!" Chelse ordered.
"Not gonna work! Char, use Metal Claw on Ekans! Slice, hit Oddish with Cut attack!" Kidan commanded confidently.
Once again, both Char and Slice dodge Ekan's Poison Sting and Oddish's Acid attacks as they charged right at them with their attacks. But before they could hit them, they were both hit with waves of stars, colliding them together as they were flung back. Kidan, Char and Slice both turned to the side to see the grunts standing there, all having Rattatas, Koffing and the Bat-like Pokemon, Zubat.
They had the resemblense of a bat, but were blue with purple wings and had two very thin antennas for legs and had no eyes.
"That was cheap! You had your own goons attack us during our battle!" Kidan shouted with irritation.
"Life's not fair kid. That's what you get when you mess with Team Rocket," Darek said coldly.
'This isn't good. There's at least a dozen of them, followed by Ekans and Oddish,' Slice observed his surroundings.
'We have to win! We need to free the Clefairy one way or another!' Char stated.
'But we're not THAT strong to beat them all at once! We need help Char!' Slice admitted.
'Grr... your right. But where are we gonna get help?' Char asked him.
"You might as well surrender kid. Your outmatched from two to fourteen. The evens are with us," Chelse said grinning viciously.
Kidan glared at them all and knew that she was right. He was up against four Rattata, five Koffing and three Zubat, followed by the two agent's Ekans and Oddish. And all he had on his team was Char and Slice, who were indeed strong, but were not strong enough to fight them all by themselves. Before he could think fo a plan, he heared footsteps from behind.
"Bulb, use Razor Leaf!" A teenage girl's voice shouted out.
Out of nowhere, a medium sized gut of sharp leaves flew by them and hit the group of Pokemon simultaniously, leaving them in a state of pain.
"Spearow, use Fury Attack! Eevee, use Swift attack!" A teenage boy's voice yelled.
Out of nowhere once again, a figure flies past Kidan, Char and Slice and starts to feriously attacks the Team Rocket Pokemon as a wave of stars fly pass them and hits the Pokemon, causing them to lose unconscious.
"Our Pokemon!" Darek exclaimed with concern.
"Who dares to challenge Team Rocket?" Chelse demanded.
"Us, that's who!" The girl's voice replied.
Coming from behind were none other than Cealy and Sora, along with Clefairy, Bulb, Grace, Squirtle and Eevee as they ran up next to Kidan, Char and Slice taking their positions.
"Cealy? Sora? What are you two doing here?" Kidan asked astonished but still relieved.
"What else? To help fight these idiots!" Sora stated.
"You should have gotten us earlier. Why didn't you?" Cealy asked him a bit annoyed but also concerned.
"Well you guys were sleeping and I was walking around, so..." Kidan trailed off from his words.
"That's no excuse Kidan Hikura!" Cealy shouted in front of him. "You can't fight these guys on your own! Come get us next time when this happens, understand?"
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry Cealy!" Kidan said raising his hands in defence. "Sorry that I worried ya'."
"Uh, hate to break up your conversation over here, but can we beat these guys and get to bed please?!" Sora butted in with annoyance.
"Oh, sorry Sora," Kidan said rubbing the back of his head.
"It's over Team Rocket! Your Pokemon are unconscious and your out of luck!" Cealy exclaimed to them all.
"Damn it! The little brown-head is right! We need to retreat!" Darek said in defeat.
"Crap... Team Rocket, retreat! Fall back from Mt. Moon!" Chelse ordered.
They all returned their Pokemon back into their balls and threw down smoke pellets. Spearow and Grace used their wings to blow the smoke away to see where Darek and Chelse were, but as it cleared up, they were all gone.
About an hour later, Kidan, Cealy and Sora have all released the caged Clefairy and helped take out their stolen Moon Stone. They all were inside a different room where a large boulder like rock that sparkled under the moon's light was being surrounded by the Moon Stone that the Clefairy were placing down around it. Kidan and the others watched as the Clefairy began to celebrate their anniversary.
'Thank you all again for what you did. If it weren't for any of you, our Moon Stone as well as all of us would all be gone by now.' Clefairy said to them gratefully.
"Aww, it was nothing." Kidan said rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment. "We're just glad that we can help."
'Well, for saving us from those Rocket people that you call them, we want to give you three one of these each.' Clefairy said as three now evolved Clefable walked up to them holding a Moon Stone each. They handed them to Kidan, Cealy and Sora as they all looked at them with surprising looks.
"A-Are you sure Clefairy? Won't you be needing these for your celebration?" Cealy asked her with some concern.
'There's nothing to fear. We have many Moon Stone that we keep hidden around here in case we need extra.' Clefairy assured them.
"Well, thank you Clefairy." Kidan said with a smile.
'Your welcome. Now come and celebrate with us!' Clefairy said to them leading them to the others.
"Oh no, I really ain't much of a-WOAH!" Kidan started to protest before being interupted.
"Come on Kidan! Let's dance!" Cealy exclaimed grabbing his hand and pulls him over to the others.
"Well, if you can't beat them, join them," Sora sighed as he joined Kidan and Cealy in the dance.
With that, Kidan, Cealy, Sora and their Pokemon spent the rest of their night celebrating the Clefairy's anniversary, dancing and laughing with all of them throughout the night. Tomorrow, however, will have new challenges waiting for them around the corner, as they journey their way to Cerulean City to each earn their second gym badge.
