Chapter 14: S.S. Anne

Dark: What in the world are you singing?
Not evening noticing, Dark had walked into the main studio room as he had saw and heard KW singing out loud for some reason. KW turned around before hitting the pause button on his Media Player from the computer.
KW: Just some Starset music. This one was called "Point of No Return." Good song.
Dark: And yet...why were you singing?
KW: ...Is it wrong to sing out loud?
Dark: No, but I ask because you're singing inside the studio room where everyone inside the building can hear you. Heck, I heard you before I turned down the hallway!
KW: Sounds like someones 'jelly'...
Dark: What?
KW: I said, you sound like you're 'jelly.'
Dark: What the heck does that mean?
KW: *Smirks* Would you like to know?
Dark: ...For the good of us both, I gonna say 'no' and that you get on with the chapter.
KW: That's what I thought!
Dark: *Slaps his forehead*

Last time, Kidan and the gang had finally reached Vermillion City after three days of none ending trecking and climbing. Thinking of healing their Pokemon, as well as getting themselves cleaned up, they all headed to the Pokemon Center, where they found dozens of other Pokemon trainers with their badly injured Pokemon partners. Learning that they had all lost the Vermillion Gym, Kidan and the others became slightly worried. But nonetheless, they headed towards the gym where met with the gym leader himself, Lt. Surge. After making fun of Sora's Eevee, Sora and Eevee were first up to face Surge and his Electric Mouse Pokemon, Raichu. With only a few swift attacks, Eevee was badly beatened and rushed to the Pokemon Center.
When Nurse Joy overheard them talking, she gave Sora a Thunderstone in order to evolved Eevee into one of its three evolved forms, known as Jolteon. Declining to evolve only to be stronger, everyone started to make a plan, trying to find a weakness in Surge's plans.
That was when Kidan figured it out and explaiend it to the entire group.
When Sora returned to get another rematch against Surge and his Raichu, they were completely stunned. Eevee used her small speed ablilties to her advantage. When Raichu tried to end the match with a powerful Thunderbolt, Eevee was still standing and unharmed due to using Swift to absorb the attacks. In the end, Eevee was declared the winner and Surge apologized for his foolish acts.
Later, Cealy, using Bulb was up against Surge and his Raichu, giving herself a nice advantage. Almost losing, Bulb was able to make a quick comback using Leech Seed and Tackle combo they had used when facing Misty and her Starmie a while back. In the end, she too was able to receive her third badge.
Kidan was then last to face Surge and Raichu. Using Char, who wanted to get in the action, was a very close call between them. Char was roughly damaged by Raichu's Thudershock attacks, clearly weakening him by some. However, it was almost a draw if it weren't for Char's Metal Claw manuever, using them to absorb the electricity attacks into his own, sending it right back at Surge's Raichu. Like Sora and Cealy, Kidan was also declared the winner and received his Thunder Badge as well.
Now, after being given their next course to the next gym, thanks to Nurse Joy back at the Pokemon Center, our heroes make their way to Saffron City in order to gain their fourth badge. But what comes next will be a thrilling adventure for all of them that they will never forget.
"Finally, our third badge!" Kidan exclaimed happily as he admired his badges in the Badge case.
"Its only been a little over then a month already, and look how far we already came!" Cealy replied happily as she watched Kidan admiring his badges.
"We've come a long way already, and yet, we're not even close to finishing yet," Sora replied smiling with Eevee parched on his right shoulder, cheering happily with all the others.
As they continued to walk across the bridge, they heard someone's voice calling out loud to everyone near the harbors. Curious as to what was going on, they jog towards where the voice was coming from. As they got closer to the harbor and whoever was calling out, they saw a massive cruise boat docked with the harbor.
It was very large coated in white all around with a red strip underneath. Like any other cruises, it contained a large swimming pool, large amounts of guest rooms and a dining hall. The boat was all filled with the captain's crew, who were rushing all around trying to complete their active duties all across the ship, inside and out.
As they got close enough to the boat, they saw someone wearing a sailor's outfit waving a pamphlet in his right hand while his left was holding onto a stack of the same pamphlets shouting," Come one, come all! Think you got what it takes to win the S.S. Anne Showdown Competition? Then enter now while the spots are available!"
"The S.S. Anne Showdown?" Kidan thought out loud curiously. "Wonder what that is?"
"I heard about it in town yesterday, actually," Sora replied to him. "Apparently, a man named Captain Ragners, who owns the S.S. Anne, is giving away a special prize to whomever wins in a Pokemon battle onboard the cruise. I also heard that entries and food were free, including the rooms."
"Really?" Kidan asked wondering if there was some kind of catch to it. "You sure there wasn't anything they wanted back or something?"
"Not what I've heard," Sora shrugged simply.
"I think we should do it!" Cealy exclaimed happily as her eyes sparkling, thinking of the many things they coudl do on a cruise. "It'll be the perfect relaxation we need, and with it all being free, that makes it two time better!"
"I wanna enter the Pokemon competition more than anything else!" Kidan replied getting really excited now. Even though the competition wasn't really like the battles he faced against official gym leaders, facing other trainers with many kinds of Pokemon would be great training and experience for his Pokemon, as well as Cealy and Sora's Pokemon. "With my Pokemon on my side, there's no way I'll lose!"
"Not unless we beat you first, Kyie," Cealy teased him as she grinned deviously. She enjoyed challenging him to stuff like this. It always made it more fun for the both of them anyhow.
"Hah! I wanna see you try, Ceal," Kidan smirked back at her. He knew what she was getting at and wasn't gonna turn it down one bit.
"Hey, don't you two forget about me and my team! We'll be the ones to win for sure," Sora told them both getting all fired up now.
"Then what are we waiting for, let's get signed up for the matches!" Kidan said to them even more excitedly as they went to go get a pamphlet from the sailor.
"So the team is all there then?" The man in the orange suit asked both of his agents.
"Yes sir!" Darek and Chelse replied in a saluted stance.
"You have better not fail me again, you two," he told them coldly, "I am expecting perfection from my top agents like before. The recent reports you have sent are deemed worthy, but effortlessly disappointing. I have been assuming that you had both brought back some powerful Pokemon, or at least some minions for our recruits."
"We are doing our very best, boss," Darek replied to him in a calm manner. "We've have been set back a bit due to some...unwanted attention again."
"...The three children and the Charmander?" He asked them in a fustrated tone.
Their leader had heard and read the reports about three children who had cause to set back his plans by some for the past month. Whoever these children were, were all a big pain in the neck. The resources and time he had put into his recent operations had been stopped to three children with the three starter Pokemon. If there was one thing he hated more than anything; was people who seem to get his unwanted attention. And that was something those children had gotten him to draw his attention towards.
"Not a Charmander sir, but a Charmeleon now," Chelse explained to her leader. "We also witnessed other strong Pokemon in their teams as well, besides the three starters. Apparently, few of these Pokemon are rare and very powerful to say. One of them being the Eevee you were looking for during our operations back in Viridian."
"Hmm..." he pondered with an non-motional expression. That's when he grinned deviously. "If you two want to redeem yourselves once again, you can make sure our latest plans goes accordingly. Am I understood?"
"Yes sir!" They both replied simultaneously.
"Have you given all the pamphlets to each Pokemon trainer for the cruise?" He asked them.
"Yes sir," Darek replied with a happy tone. "All of the Pokemon trainers were so delighted about the captain's Pokemon competition, they just about begged for entries. Neither the main crew, nor the trainers or captain know about our intentions as of now."
"But sir, if I may," Chelse asked with a slight tone of concern, "was it really wise to use so much resources into this small operation of ours?"
"It's a small price to pay to what I'll get in return," he replied with a devious smile.
"As you say boss," Chelse bowed a bit in respect of her boss' wishes. Some of the things her boss has done in the past were odd, but very effective towards the end. She knew not to fully judge her leader's master plans one bit.
"I do. Also, our men have secretely and quietely boared the S.S. Anne in disguises," their boss informed them both. "When I give out the signal, they will take the Pokemon from all the trainers and crew members once the competition completely ends. They won't be able to fight back with just weak Pokemon on their sides."
"Excellent plans, sir," Darek complimented his leader sincerely. Just about every plan his boss issues are always a 'no failure' comeback. He always admired his leader's tactics, even if they were just simple and quite easy.
"Darek, Chelse, this time," he started to tell them with a cold but serious tone in his voice, "failure is not an option. Do I make myself clear, agents?"
"Understood boss!" They replied complying to his orders.
"We won't fail you this time," Chelse assured him with a smirk.
"Good," he replies as he chuckles menacingly, giving off a very devious grin.
"What an awesome ship!" Kidan exclaimed in pure awe as he looked around the entire area. They had all entered the main dining room hall of the ship and it was already packed with hundreds and hundreds of Pokemon trainers and other citizens. From youngest to oldest, more than half of the people aboard the ship were trainers due to alot of them containing more than a few pokeballs on their belts.
"This place is beautiful!" Cealy replied in awe as well, taking in the breathtaking view of the ship. Even though this was a competition, she couldn't help but feel like she was on vacation or something. As a little girl she had dreams of wanting to go on a cruise like this when she was older.
"I can't wait to get in the competition," Kidan said to them both as they made their way towards the main arena of the dining hall. As they got closer and closer, they could already hear the battle going on ahead. Anxious to see what was happening, Kidan ran ahead to see who was in the middle of the battle. After trying to scoot through the tight crowd, he got to the very front of the battle and saw what was happening.
On the right side of the field was the brown Mouse-Pokemon, known as Raticate, ready to battle its opponent, the purple Mysterious-Pokemon, Starmie. The owner of the Raticate was wearing a black top hat with a fancy black suit, tie and shoes, as well as a pair of reading glasses. On the other side was a young trainer who looked to be about 10 years old wearing a blue hat that was turned backwards, with a yellow t-shirt and blue jean shorts.
Apparently, the young trainer was having a hard time defeating the man's Raticate for some reason. Even Cealy and Sora, who had finally made their way through the tight crowd to catch with Kidan, seemed to notice that as well.
"Okay Raticate, use Bite!" The man in the black suit ordered.
"Starmie, use Spin Tackle!" The youngster cried out.
The two opposing Pokemon quickly charged for each other. Starmie quickly spun like a wind blade as it tried to counter Raticate's incoming Bit attack, with its bouth wide open. However, they both collided with each other, showing no sign of injury whatsoever. But that was about to change with the next attack.
"Raticate, get up close and end it with Hyper Fang!" The man called out.
"Starmie, get out of there!" The youngster commanded his Pokemon.
But before Starmie could recover from its recent collision, it was quickly beaten as Raticate crunched down on its gem, cracking it and shattering it. With that, Starmie fell to the ground defeated, ending the first round of the match.
"Starmie is unable to battle! Raticate is the winner!" The referee announced.
Alot of Pokemon trainers and regular citizens cheered as Kidan and the others watched in awe.
"That's a strong Raticate," Sora pointed out to them.
"I never seen a Raitcate that fast before," Cealy replied in a stae of disbelief still.
But out of the three of them, Kidan was now more pumped up than before. he couldn't wait to get in the arena and fight. If he was lucky, he would be able to face the black suit man and his Raticate later, if he was able to advance further.
"Oh, I can't wait to battle! This is gonna be amazing!" Kidan exclaimed with a fiery passion. He couldn't help himself at this point. With all the talk about the competition and the recent battle he just seen, was enough to get out there right now.
And apparently, luck was on his side today.
"The next challenger in the arena is Kidan Hikura from Pallet Town against Lass Fiona from Vermillion City. Will both parties please come up now?" The announcer replied through the speakers of the ship.
"Sweetness! I up next!" Kidan cheered as he ran towards his designated side of the field. He watched as a young girl, perhaps the age of 12, with blonde mixed with brown hair walk to her designated side. She wore a type of skirt that had a white shirt and green skirt. It reminded him a bit of Giselle from the Pokemon tech school they went a while back.
"Trainers, send out your Pokemon!" The announcer told them both.
"Go, Nidoran!" Fiona called out as she tossed her pokeball into the air. The ball opened and a purple colored male Nidoran emerged. What was different about this Nidoran was obviously the color, as well as its horn. It was a bit bigger in height and width than the female Nidroan Kidan had encountered before.
Curious, he pulls out his PokeDex and scans the Pokemon for information. "Hmm...so, like the female Nidoran, it's the Poison Pin Pokemon. It scans its surroundings by raising its ears out of the grass. Its large ears are flapped like wings when it is listening to distant sounds. Also, its toxic horn is for protection and extends toxic barbs when angered," Kidan read the information that was given to him.
Looking back at his opponents, he smirked. "Well, this should be a fun battle. Let's get 'em, Swirl!" Tossing his own Pokeball, his Tadpole Pokemon, Swirl, emerges from the Pokeball, eager and determined like his trainer was.
"Each trainer will only use one Pokemon each. Whichever sides Pokemon is unable to continue, the match is over. No time limit is required. Now, let the battle begin!"
"Nidoran, use Poison Sting on Swirl!" Fiona called out. Nodding, Nidoran fires off a wave of Poison Stings at Swirl, who was standing still and waiting for his orders.
"Nice try, but that ain't gonna work on us! Swirl, use Double Slap to send them back!" Kidan ordered his Pokemon.
With a great pride of confidence, Swirl spins around and starts to continuously slap the Poison Stings back at Nidoran, who was stun by the counter attack. With no time to retaliate, Nidoran was quickly bombarded with its own Poison Stings. Back then, Cealy had Grace use the exact same strategy while they were in Viridian Forest by using Gust attack to send the Poison Stings flyign back. It was definitely the perfect plan for Swirl.
"Nidoran!" Fiona cried out in concern.
"Now Swirl, get close enough and use Hypnosis!" Kidan grinned with confidence and determination.
Complying, Swirl takes no time at all and rushed in front of Nidoran. As it tried to get up, it was completely stunned that Swirl was standing right in front of it. Not a moment to lose, Swirl sends a spiral of purple rings into Nidoran's eyes, causing it to fall asleep in the process. it feel to the ground snoring, already now sound asleep.
"Nidoran, get up!" Fiona called out to her Pokemon, who wasn't budging one bit. "Oh no!"
"Great job Swirl! Now lets end this with a Bubble barrage!" Kidan ordered.
Powering up his attack, Swirl unleashes a massive wave of bubbles at the sleeping Nidoran, who was immediately being hit by each and every Bubble attack that landed on it. With no more energy left, Nidoran fell backwards at its trainer with spirals in its eyes. Nidoran had fainted.
"Nidoran is unable to battle! Victory goes to Swirl and Kidan!" The announcer announced to everyone.
"Yeah! Way to go Swirl!" Kidan praised his Pokemon cheerfully, who in return, jumped right into Kidan's arms, earning a cheerful laugh from the both of them.
Cealy and Sora, who had watched the entire match, cheered loudly along with the other trainers and citizens who had watched. Apparently, they made a pretty amazing show for just a short period of time.
Fiona, who had returned her fallen Nidoran, complimented on Kidan and his Swirl for an awesome battle, even though she didn't stand a chance against them. Earning a small chat from each other they both shook hands as a good sign of friends and left the arena to make way for the next set of trainers.
The battles later on were mostly short as the hours past.
After Kidan won his first match, Cealy was up next aa she challenged and won against a young ranger and his Oddish with Grace, using her Gust and Sand-Attacks to get the advantage. A few rounds past and Sora was next to go. He was challenged by a biker and his Voltorb as Sora used his Squirtle, who at the same time, actually evolved during the match, receiving tons of awes and shocks from everyone, even from Kidan and Cealy themselves. With that, he easily won with his newly evolved form, Wartortle, after learning to use Rapid Spin and Bite.
The second and thrid rounds went by quick, eahc of them earning the win. However, in the semi-finals, Kidan and Cealy were up against each other, gaining a determined and fiery passion from both of them. They battle each other very hard with mych strategy and strength. But, however, Cealy as unable to beat her childhood friend after Grace was hit by Swirl's Hypnosis and Bubble barrage combo. As for Sora, he too was defeated by the black suited man's Raticate, after being hit with tons of Sand-Attacks and Tackles. Wartortle was beaten after Raitcate used Hyper Fang on him, causing Sora to lose the match.
Now, the finals were finally here. It was the last match of the entire cruise and all the contestances, along with the watchers, all awaited for the last battle of the competition. It was Kidan Hikura and Swirl against the black suited man, who announced his name as Richard, and his Raticate. What was really amazing was that the captain himself, Captain Ragners, was going to watch the last battle of the night, await to see who earns to prize.
But while that was going on, Team Rocket agents, Darek and Chelse, who were wearing waiter outfits, had observed the enitre cruise for the entire time, extremely proud of their accomplishment. With hundreds and hundreds of Pokemon trainers onboard the S.S. Anne, due to their secret recruits inviting trainers onboard earlier, they were sure that they would not fail their boss after this. All the Pokemon they could bring back to their leader was enough to conquer Vermillion City itself possibly. Just the thought of that made them very proud.
"Look at all the Pokemon trainers, Darek," Chelse grinned deviously. "All of their Pokemon onboard this ship will soon be taken by Team Rocket."
"Just the thought of all those Pokemon is unimaginable! Wait til' the boss gets his hands on each and every one of those Pokemon," Darek chuckled menacingly, thinking of the many things they could use all those Pokemon for.
"Now all we wait for is the final match up," Chesle started to say until she spotted a familiar figure standing in the arena. "Huh?"
Getting a better look, who she saw standing in the arena with his back turn was Kidan himself. Her eyes widened as she saw him. "Darek, look! It's that brat!"
"The brat with the Charmeleon and Scyther?" Darek asked.
"Yes you idiot, that brat!" Chelse snapped at him as he flinched a bit. "If that kid is here, then his other little brat friends should be close by."
"This is our lucky break! Not only do we get the trainer's Pokemon, but also the rare Pokemon those brats have too!"
"And that's just what we're gonna do," Chesle grinned. "Once the competition is over, his Pokemon will be weak and they'll be easy picking for us."
"Brilliant idea," Darek agreed with a devious grin of his own as they both watched the battle to begin.
"This is the final round of the S.S. Anne Showdown Competition! Both trainers have goen through each round to get to this point, and we are delighted to see them get this far! Everyone else who had competeted tonight, we thank you for your participation. Now, on with the match. On the right side of the field, we have Gentleman Richard with his Raticate, along with Kidan Hikura of Pallet Town with his Poliwag, on the left side. Each challenger will use one Pokemon, just like all the other rounds from before. Whoever wins will receive the incredulous prize from Captain Ragner himself. Both challengers ready?" The announcer asked the two waiting challengers.
"Yes!" Kidan and Richard both replied.
"Then let the final round begin!" The announcer called out.
"Raticate, use Bite to start us off!" Richard ordered his Pokemon.
"Swirl, get in there and use Tackle head on!" Kidan commanded his Pokemon.
Both Pokemon charged directly at each other, colliding with strong force. Even though Swirl was a bit smaller than Raticate, he was still able to hold his grounds against it. The power between the two Pokemon was very impressive.
"Those two's powers are incredible!" Cealy said astounded as she and Sora watched the battle from the side lines.
"Yeah, those two really are strong," Sora agreed, "especially since Swirl is just a tad smaller than Raticate itself."
"Now Raticate, use Pursuit!" Richard ordered his Pokemon.
"Dodge it Swirl!" Kidan called back.
Just as Raticate tried to make a quick hit on Swirl, he was able to dodge Raticate's attack, using his tail as a type of spring to jump into the air and over its head.
"Raticate, Quick Attack!" Richard quickly commanded.
Without a second to lose, Raticate quickly turns around and dashes towards Swirl, who was just realizing what was going on. Before Swirl could move a muscle, he was quickly hit in the the side by Raticate's Quick Attack, sending it flying towards the side lines.
"Swirl, are you okay buddy?" Kidan called out in concern. Standing back up and shaking off the pain, Swirl called out in his language indicating that he was ready to go. "Excellent! Now lets try using Water Gun!"
"Raticate, dodge and use Hyper Fang to end it!" Richard called out.
'That's what I was hoping you would do,' Kidan thought to himself. As Ratciate dodges Swirl's Water Gun attack, it quickly makes a charge at him, with its fangs longer and brighter, ready to smash down into Swirl. "Nice try! Swirl, use Hypnosis to counter back!"
"I don't think so!"
"Huh?"
"Raticate, Sand-Attack!" Richard called out to his Pokemon.
With just enough time, Raticate haults its attack and sends a pack full of sand right into Swirl's face, causing it to stop charging his Hypnosis attack. His eyes were closed shut as he tried to shake off the sand in his face.
"Swirl, hang in there bud!" Kidan cried out.
"What happened?" Cealy asked in confusion. "How come Swirl didn't use Hypnosis?"
"Well, when Raticate used Sand-Attack at Swirl, it caused him to lose focus on building up any energy into Hypnosis, making it impossible for Swirl to use, considering he couldn't see anything," Sora explained to her.
"You put up a very good match, young man, but this match has ended. Hyper Fang, go!" Richard commanded.
Once again, Raticate's teeth glow brghter and longer and charges at Swirl, veyr close to smashing its teeth into Swirl's body.
"Oh no Swirl!" Cealy exclaimed in concern.
"If Kidan doesn't do something soon, it's all over!" Sora cried out.
'There's got to be a way to counter those moves!' Kidan thought to himself. Just as he watched Raticate get closer and closer with minimal speed, the thought of it gave Kidan an idea. 'Wait, that's it!' Without a moment to lose, he called out to Swirl, "Swirl! Use Water Gun down on the ground now!"
Confused by his master's order, he complied and shot a blast full of water onto the ground, sending him flying into the air and dodging Raticate's Hyper Fang attack. In turn, the water cleared his eyes out of the sand, making Swirl regain focus again.
"What?!" Richard replied in disbelief.
"Now lets try out that move we've been working on! Use your Body Slam attack!" Kidan called out.
"Body Slam?" Cealy and Sora simultanously asked.
Not a moment after the failed attack, Raticate was heard crying out in pain as Swirl slammed right on top of it, putting extra force into Raticate, making the pain hurt even more.
"Raticate!" Richard cried out in concern.
"When did Swirl know Body Slam, Cealy?" Sora asked her in some shock.
"I...don't know," Cealy shaking her head not having a single clue.
"Great job Swirl! Now lets end this! Use your Hypnosis attack!" Kidan exclaimed.
"Raticate, you gotta get out of there!" Richard called to his injured Pokemon.
But unable to get out of the way quickly enough, Swirl send a wave of purple rings into Raticate's eyes, sending the mouse Pokemon to sleep. The match was about to end there and now.
"End this Swirl! Bubble barrage attack!" Kidan ordered with a smirk on his face.
Sucking in a deep breath, Swirl got in front of Raticate and hurled a massive force of bubbles directly at it. With Raticate asleep, the wave of bubbles bombarded into it, sending the mouse Pokemon flying backwards to its trainer. As it landed on its back, the swirls in its eyes indicated that he had fainted. That was finally the end of the match.
"Raticate is unable to battle! The victory goes Swirl and Kidan Hikura of Pallet Town!" The referee announced to everyone through the microphone.
"We did it! We actually won Swi-iiirrrrrrl! Before Kidan coudl finish, Swirl had crashed into Kidan and into his arms, both of them chuckling and laughing of their victory.
"I knew he would win," Cealy sighed in relief as she smiled at the both of them.
"I should've known you would be worried for him," Sora joked, though in return was hit in the back of the head. "Ow! I was just being honest!"
Sighing, Richard sadly smiled as he walked up to his injured Pokemon. "Raticate, are you okay?" His Pokemon nodded normally to him, even though it was pretty hurt. "You did great, my friend. You've earned yourself a good long rest."
Returning his Pokemon back into its pokeball, Richard walked up to both Kidan and Swirl. "Young man, you did an amazing job out there. I haven't seen a battle like that for a long time. You and your Swirl were really something today. I congratulate you both, and hope to battle you both again someday."
Looking at Richard's stretched out hand, he smiles and grasps his hand and shakes it. "Thank you very much, sir. I'd be more than happy to battle you and your Raticate one day again. Both of you were really strong, to be honest."
"Thank you very much, Kidan," Richard chuckled as they shook hands, with the entire crew, challengers and citizens all applauding and cheering to the both of them.
Inside a dark room, with four display screens being the only source of light, a man wearing an orange suit with very short brown hair watched as the final battle between Kidan an Richard had ended. He was quite impressed in the child's skills and strategies.
"So this is the child who has been ruining our plans from the beginning, huh?" He askes to no one in particular as he stroke his Cat Pokemon, known as Persian. His expression turns into a dark and devious grin. "Heh, it won't be long now."
Pressing a button next to his chair, a beeping sound was heard from the other end.
"Yes sir?"
"Agents, it's time. Begin executing the plan immediately." He replies.
"Yes boss!"
Back at the S.S. Anne, everyone was waiting for Captain Ragner to present the prize to Kidan, who had won the entire competition. As Kidan was seen walking towards the captain, the doors all around them in the dining hall suddenly closed on everyone inside.
"What the?"
"What's going on?"
Everyone was begining to feel a bit panic wondering why the doors had suddenly closed and locked them all inside. Cealy and Sora looked around the panicking people, trying to figure out what was going.
"Sora?" Cealy asks him as she was still looking around the hall.
"I'm not sure," Sora shrugged a little in response.
Both Kidan and Swirl were looking around the area as well, trying to figure out what was happening. His mind started to think of the possibilities; either the doors automatically malfunctioned, or that someone had locked them all inside on purpose. When he looked behind the captain and his first mate, he saw a stray of Poison Stings heading for them both. Quickly, he and Swirl rush towards them.
"Get down!" Kidan shouted as he tackles the middled age captain while Swirl tackled his first mate down to the ground, just having enough time to dodge the Poison Sting attacks. Looking up from his position, he saw over a few dozen Rocket members all around the room, wearing some type of suction devices on their backs.
Just as he was looking around him, he heard two menacing laughs from behind. Getting up and looking behind him, he saw Team Rocket agents, Darek and Chelse, standing in front of everyone inside the hall with the same devices on their backs. Beside them both were their Pokemon Ekans and Oddish, looking ready to fight.
"Allow us to introduce ourselves," Chelse announced to everyone, "we are agents Chelse and Darek, advanced special ops of Team Rocket, the future empire of Kanto."
"And we're here to take all of your Pokemon to expand our organization," Darek chuckled deviously.
Everyone, even the rookie Pokemon trainers, were now scared. Their precious Pokemon were about to be taken by Team Rocket and they were completely helpless. As they all started to have these thoughts, the Team Rocket members started their machines and started sucking up the trainer's pokeballs from their belts and right into the machines. As for some, they were holding onto their pokeballs for dear life. With no other option, some of the Rockets went up to them in order to take them by force.
"Give us your Pokemon," one of the Rockets said to Cealy.
"As if! Spree, take them out!" Cealy shouted out tossing her pokeball into the air.
"Nidorina, give us a hand!" Sora called out tossing his pokeball as well.
As the two Pokemon emerged, they quickly attacked the three Rockets that were opposing them both, knocking them out as they collided into the wall.
Kidan, who was helping the captain up, was suddenly confronted by two Rocket members, asking them both and the captain's first mate the same thing. But Kidan wasn't going to let that happen.
"Not a chance, losers! Swirl, get them with Water Gun attack!" Kidan ordered. Quickly, Swirl launches a full blast of water into the two grunts, sending them both flying back as well and knocking them out. "That'll teach you to mess with us!"
Kidan then turns to everyone who had watched the three battles started in awe and disbelief. He knew that in order to win against Team Rocket, they needed to all work together in order to defeat them.
"Everyone! We can't let Team Rocket take away our precious Pokemon! If we all work together, we can beat them at their own game!" Kidan shouted to everyone tyring to give them the confidence they all needed to succeed.
"He's right, we can't just stand here and let them take our Pokemon from us!" One of the trainers agreed.
"Yeah, let's get them!" Another one replied as well.
Instantly, everyone inside the dining hall started to agree as they all took out what Pokemon they had and send them out, ready to fight back against Team Rocket and their agents.
"Just try us! Oddish, take care of them!" Chelse ordered.
"You too Ekans!" Darek commanded.
"Alright guys, let get them!" Kidan shouted as he, Cealy and Sora send out their entire team to battle. Kidan released Slice, Char and Pysch into battle; Cealy released Bulb and Grace into battle as Sora released Wartortle, Spearow and Eevee into battle. Together, along with the other trainers and their Pokemon, started to fight back one by one, teaming up together as they all ganged up against a few grunts each. After what seemed like a easy win, the entire Team Rocket forces were all knocked out completely, along with their suction devices totally neutralized and destroyed. The last pair on the ship to face was Darek and Chelse, who were actually afraid now, considering they were all on their own against everyone. Even their own Pokemon seemed to panic, now that the odds were against them.
"Now it's your turn, Team Rocket!" Kidan told them both as his team was ready to fight, along with Cealy and Sora's.
"Uh oh!" They both cried out fearfully.
"Slice, Quick Pursuit! Char, Metal Ember! Swirl, Bubble Barrage! And Psych, Confusion Wave!"
"Bulb, Razor Barrage! Grace, Wing Gust! And Spree, Super Confusion!"
"Wartortle, Rapid Water Gun! Spearow, Fury Peck! Eevee, Swift Barrage! And Nidorina, Supersonic Sting!"
With the combine attacks of all eleven attacks from the three trainer's Pokemon, the attacks themselves send Darek, Chelse their Pokemon and all the other grunts onboard the ship crashing into the ceiling and sending them all flying out of the S.S. Anne and into the sky.
"So much for that plan!" Chelse complained.
"We didn't even have a chance against them!" Darek whined.
"Oh quit your complaining! Just wait til' the boss hears this!" Chelse retorted back as they were all send flying into the clear night sky, disappearing from sight.
Everyone inside the S.S. Anne, all cheered and applauded the three young trainers, as well as helping take care of the Rocket grunts that were snet with them. Sora just waved in return, while Cealy shyly smiled and waved and Kidan just chuckled in embarrassment with his hand rubbing the back of his head.
"As head captain of the S.S. Anne and the competition, I reward you the grand prize; The Water Stone and five thousand poke dollars!" Captain Ragner announced as he handed the items to Kidan who smiled in return.
"Thank you very much, Captain," Kidan replied as he held the items in his hand. The Water Stone, he thought, would help him perhaps later in the future. As for the money, he would send most of it back to his parents as he would keep perhaps about two hundred of it for necessary items later.
"And to yourself and your friends, myself, the entire crew and people of the S.S. Anne thank you for your help against those criminals. Without your help, we would have all lost our dear Pokemon on the ship," the captain said to him and his friends.
"It was nothing, really," Kidan chuckled in embarrassment.
"Since tonight is our last night til' we dock at Porta Vista, I believe we should all celebrate from our victory. Does everyone agree?" The captain asked the entire crew and passengers inside. Without any hesitation or silence, everyone cheered and applauded in agreement. "That settles it! Now, as captain of the S.S. Anne, let the celbration begin!"
Through that night, everyone, including Kidan, Cealy, Sora, along with their own Pokemon, began to celebrate in the dining hall, celebrating for their victory against the attack of Team Rocket and their agents. During that night, Kidan even asked Cealy to dance, which causes them both to blush madly anyhow. Nonetheless, they had a great time that night and prepared themselves for the next day as they made their way to the island known as Porta Vista.
However, what comes next in the next chapter may be a total disaster, even for the people of Porta Vista...
