Tony felt something on his chest, like a little creature walking around. He opened his eyes and saw Logan's fingers trailing over his clothed chest, playfully waking him up on purpose. He was smiling before he even met her gaze. She was so beautiful, he could have laid there forever.

''Happy birthday,'' she smiled sweetly.

''Oh, right,'' he remembered, pulling himself away from his pillow to kiss her.

Tony snaked his hand into her hair, holding her close to him as he began to feel her smile against his lips. She wrapped her arms around his side and sat up closer to him on his lap, but the large baby bump made it difficult. Logan had felt bad about their sex life, or lack of rather. Every time she was in the mood, it died away faster than she imagined. She just didn't feel confident in herself like that just yet, and she knew that Tony understood and didn't pressure her, but she could tell how frustrating it had become.

Slowly and gently, Logan pulled away from the kiss with an apologetic and amused look on her face. She knew it had been a long time for both of them, but with only weeks to go, she really didn't feel it. However Tony just smiled back at her with a nod.

''Wouldn't it be cool if he came today?'' Tony pressed a kiss to her stomach. ''He could share his birthday with me, imagine the parties we could have when he's older,''

Tony thought about the memories he could make, but he never allowed himself to spend too much time daydreaming about it. Right now it wasn't possible for him, he didn't know how many days he would have with his son. Which is why he wished that he would come early, that he could meet him.

''I think he'll be wild enough with the encouragement of partying,'' Logan rolled her eyes. ''I feel like any child of Tony Stark's will be a handful,''

''You act like I'm the only crazy one out of the two of us. What about you, huh? I know you've got a wild streak Walker,''

Logan laughed loudly as Tony pulled her closer, the hair on his chin tickling her neck.

''You haven't called me that in a long time,''

''That's 'cause you're Stark now,'' he smiled proudly. ''But you're still the same woman I almost ran over the day I met you,''

''Always charming when you tell that story,'' she snaked her arms around his neck more, her hands going into his hair. ''We should get out of bed, have a big day ahead of us,''

Tony frowned and gently rolled them to the side until he way laying down and pulled Logan into his arms more, cradling her in his arms and throwing her blankets over them.

''Nope,''

He was aware of how busy they were, but right now he wanted nothing more than to stay in bed with his wife. If he got out of bed, he would eventually end up on his own during the arrangements for his party or he would escape to his lab and then he would have time to think. He did not want to think. Tony didn't want to face the situation he was in, he didn't want to keep checking for cures when he knew there just wasn't any. Whatever time he had left, starting today with his birthday, he wasn't going to think about the palladium poisoning.

As predicted, the house was in chaos all day. People were coming and going with gear to set up for the party and no matter how hard Logan tried to get to the door so she could help people, Tony wouldn't let her even lift a finger. That's what the delivery men were for supposedly, but it was actually up to the team Pepper had hired to set up the house.

Natalie and Pepper had been busy all morning on the phone and diverting media calls. Logan couldn't believe how big of a fuss Tony's birthday was. Even though he was her husband now and she loved him, she still thought he was the biggest attention seeker on the planet. Before she met him, Logan's opinion on Tony was quite low due to the news reports she had seen of him at parties and mostly because of how crazy and extravagant his birthday was.

Last year Tony and Logan had spent his birthday in Hawaii with just the two of them, no others, and it had been the best birthday of his life. He had a wife who loved him and knew all of his secrets and still decided to stay by his side, he was the luckiest man in the world. The same went for this year, with the addition of a son on the way and the torture of never knowing how long he had left to live due to the palladium in his chest killing him.

But he wasn't going to think about that today.

''I like what you've decided to wear tonight,'' Tony wrapped his arms around Logan as he crept up behind her.

It was late in the afternoon and Logan had been in sweatpants and a t-shirt all day, unable to bring herself to bother getting ready. Being pregnant didn't make any clothes look flattering on her and since Tony thought she always looked amazing, his opinion could never be trusted.

''I wish,'' she chuckled. ''No I have something a lot less comfortable lined up,''

''Don't wear it then,'' he shrugged. ''I wouldn't wear something I'm not comfortable in,''

''I'm uncomfortable in everything lately,'' she sighed. ''Can you take over the pregnancy from here please?''

Tony smiled as she turned in his arms, resting her head on his chest as she whined.

''Sorry babe, but you're almost there,'' he tried to comfort. ''Like I said, if you could get him to arrive today...''

Logan pulled back and looked up at Tony with a huff.

''Do you think I have power over this situation?'' she asked with a shake of her head. ''Don't you think if I could make this baby evacuate whenever I wanted it to, I would have done it before I ended up looking like this?''

Tony stared as Logan ran her hand up and down her figure, trying to prove her point.

''You mean incredibly attractive?'' he smirked.

Logan frowned and rolled her eyes, stepping away further until she slowly made her way to the kitchen. Tony followed as he looked around the corner for Pepper or Natalie, making sure that he wasn't spotted and given something to do. He understood that a lot of work went into planning and setting up his parties, but Pepper had been doing such a good job all of these years, he hadn't ever needed to help out.

Opening the cupboard, Logan reached in and pulled out a packet of chocolate cookies. Tony had noticed that her cravings had changed dramatically throughout each stage of her pregnancy, but right now she either wanted to eat everything and anything or the thought of food disgusted her entirely. Either way, Tony had made himself get into the habit of not commenting on anything to do with her unusual cravings or the odd times that she would get them.

''I think I'll be the only person not drinking tonight,'' Logan told him as she munched on a cookie. ''And I'll probably just get mad at anyone who looks at me,''

''That's okay, it's your house, you can do what you want,'' Tony shrugged.

''I just haven't gone to any events or appearances with you for a while now, I'm really self-conscious,'' she leaned back against the counter, her hand resting on her large stomach.

''Well honestly, you shouldn't be,'' Tony walked over, his hands sliding down to her hips. ''You look amazing and I'm not just saying that. Whatever that pregnancy glow is that everyone talks about, you have that times a thousand. You radiate, I swear,''

Logan knew he was just trying to cheer her up, but she couldn't help the smile that crept onto her lips.

''Can you stay with me all night and say those things?''

A few moments later, Pepper's voice could be heard coming down the hall with Natalie's following close behind. It wasn't until Logan turned around that she realized it was now dark enough for the lights around the house to start taking effect.

''Okay people will probably start arriving in about an hour,'' Pepper told them. ''I just have to get ready. Logan?''

Logan put down the cookie in her hand, tossing it across the counter as she nodded in agreement. She softly pushed Tony back away from her as she stepped past him, turning back only to press a kiss to his lips until she saw him next.

''Where are you going?'' he asked.

''Pepper's helping me choose an outfit,''

''I thought I helped you pick one already,''

''I need a second, less biased opinion. No one is game enough to tell their wife who's eight months pregnant that her clothes look bad,'' she pointed out. ''Natalie's going to help you pick something appropriate,''

''Since when do I need help?''

''Since always,'' both Pepper and Logan replied.

Two hours later, after people had begun arriving and the house was quickly filling up with guests, Logan was finally ready to walk downstairs. She had been ready for almost an hour now, but since she wasn't in the mood to face people, she held off as long as she could. However the voices downstairs were signalling to her just how long she had been hiding out.

Looking at herself once more in the mirror, Logan huffed in disappointment before heading toward the door. It wasn't that she didn't enjoy being pregnant, she loved knowing that her son was growing inside of her, but it had gotten to the stage where she was very ready for him to be born. She felt so bloated and unattractive, not to mention incredibly uncomfortable. Nevertheless, the party had to go on.

Tony had been wandering around for a while looking for his wife, already on his fifth drink. His plan to not think about his palladium poisoning for the night was going according to plan so far. Mostly due to the fact that each time he remembered it, he grabbed another drink. However all of his movements stopped when he reached the stairs, pausing as he noticed his wife making her way down.

Pepper had helped her choose a baby pink colored dress that clung to her body like a glove. Logan didn't necessarily like how large it made her look, but she did appreciate how comfortable it was. It stopped just at her knees, her creamy skin going on until the matching heels appeared. They weren't too high, and since Logan was sure this was the last time she would be dressed up before their baby arrived, she was insistent on wearing heels for the last time in a while. Her brown hair was falling down either side of her face, the ends curled into effortless waves and her makeup just strong enough to bring out her eyes. She looked absolutely perfect.

''Is that stare a good thing or bad thing?'' she asked when she reached him, her hands immediately going to his chest.

Tony nodded for a moment, his mind still thinking about how he managed to get a woman like her.

''Y-yeah,'' he smiled. ''A very good thing,''

Logan grinned and pressed her lips to his, her plan on making it a quick kiss changing fast as Tony wound his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. His grip on her tightened as he deepened the kiss and as the moment went on, Logan began to hear some guests whistling and cheering as they watched on. It was as if Tony had no plans to stop kissing her, but Logan soon had to pull away for air.

''Get a room, Stark!'' someone called out jokingly.

''This whole house is our room,''

Logan frowned and hit his chest, shaking her head at his comment as the others laughed and soon returned to their previous conversations. Tony turned back to Logan with a smile on his lips, his arms still locked around her. It wasn't he felt kicks against Logan's stomach that his hand pulled up and gently rested on the bump, his eyes still on hers.

''Guess the little guy likes to party,'' Tony chuckled, feeling the forceful movements.

''And dance, apparently,'' Logan nodded. ''Are you having a good time?''

''I was, having an ever better time now,'' he kissed her again.

''Mm,'' Logan groaned into the kiss, pushing him away. ''Go socialize,''

''I don't like these people,''

''You invited them,'' she shrugged.

''Send them home, I only want you,''

Logan could tell he had already had a few drinks. The taste on his lips and the change of his voice a clear warning that he was just beginning. Logan hadn't seen him drunk in a while, probably before she found out she was pregnant. She was never one for big social parties, especially not with Tony's company or gathering, but they both found a way to entertain themselves with alcohol. However Tony hadn't been drinking since Logan was pregnant, his life had become incredibly busy. But tonight was his birthday.

''Go,'' Logan ordered after he leaned toward her lips again. ''All these people are here for your birthday, at least acknowledge them,''

''You have to come with me,''

''No, no, no,'' she shook her head. ''I need to go find the food, and Drew because I need to remind him not to be a journalist tonight,''

''Fine,'' Tony frowned.

''I'll see you around later. Go, have fun,'' she rubbed his shoulder before walking away.

Tony watched her go, appreciating everything about her outfit before turning back to the party. He let out an exhausted sigh, his mind slowly changing subject to the one thing he didn't want to be reminded of. There was only one cure for his thoughts and he was planning to drink enough tonight that he wouldn't even remember his palladium problem existed.
