''Wow, you're actually wearing nice clothes,'' Drew commented when Logan finally found him in the crowd. ''No sweatpants, no t-shirts, it's blinding,''

''It's not the smartest move to make fun of pregnant lady,'' she pointed out while she sipped her glass of water. ''Especially since she was kind enough to invite you here,''

''Actually Tony invited me, says so on the invitation,''

''Either way I could have you thrown out in seconds,''

Drew knew she wouldn't, but he also knew that she was capable of doing it if she wanted to. She had as much power here as Tony did. However media hadn't been directly let into the party tonight. Instead they just swarmed around the mansion waiting for guests to arrive and leave, hoping that either Tony or Logan would make an appearance for them. Drew had been the only exception to journalist guests, but that's only because he was under oath not to mention or publish anything about the evening without Logan' approval.

Logan knew how the media worked a lot better than Tony did and she was very protective about their life. She knew that Tony was used to his life being thrown into magazines and television, his every move spoken about, but Logan didn't want that for them. She didn't want the world knowing whenever they kissed each other or they held hands and she especially didn't want them hovering over their new family once their son was born. Logan knew she was going to become very angry at the media once she became a mother, she wouldn't be letting them anywhere near the baby or her family. Working for the media was one thing, and she hated how they had to work sometimes, but Logan wouldn't be tolerating anything like that happening to her family.

''Tony looks like he's having fun,''

Following Drew's eye line until she saw Tony drunkenly dancing with some guests, Logan couldn't help chuckling at his efforts. He was so much wilder when he was drunk, it wasn't hard to see why he had such a reputation. It was the first time she had seen him drunk in a long time, it was amusing really, but she tried not to worry about how far he was going to take it. Pepper would know when to cut him off since she had dealt with him like this more than Logan had, but she tried to keep an eye on the situation as well.

''Yeah,'' she nodded. ''I bet he's going to make a joke later about having to drink for the both of us now,''

Drew laughed.

''Do you miss partying?''

''It wasn't a huge part of my lifestyle,'' she shrugged. ''Do I want a glass of wine or a shot of Jack Daniels every once in a while? Sure. But when you compare this little guy to alcohol, I'd be sober for the rest of my life,''

Drew smiled.

''That's very heartwarming Logan, very deep,''

Logan slapped his shoulder with a roll of her eyes.

''Weren't you bringing a date?''

''I was, but I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. This party's full of some important people, didn't want to freak her out,''

''Right, right,'' Logan nodded. ''Sounds very intelligent. Why didn't you bring your assistant? Oh, right, because you still haven't hired one,''

''Hey, I'm not hiring a fill in for you. You annoy me enough as it is, I can't start that all over again with some newbie,''

''Gee, thanks. I annoy you enough that I've turned you off hiring an assistant,'' Logan smile proudly. ''Awesome,''

''Besides you weren't an assistant, you were a partner,''

''Photojournalist, actually. We were equal,'' she reminded him. ''Except I didn't write mean stories or push the boundaries of privacy. Either way, not your assistant, I agree,''

Before Drew could continue the conversation, Logan's attention was taken by a couple of guests who wanted to speak with her. Logan didn't really know them well, but she knew they were important employees of Stark Industries. Congratulating her on her pregnancy again, wishing her luck, complimenting how she looked tonight. This party wasn't going as bad as Logan intended it to.

''Logan!'' Tony called out, making his way over.

''You can still say words,'' Logan put her arms on his shoulders as he stood in front of her, his body swaying. ''I'm shocked,''

''Are you having a good time?'' he asked, pulling her close.

''Very good. People are afraid to upset me, so I'm getting endless compliments,''

''You deserve to be showered in compliments,''

Logan sighed as Tony lowered his lips to hers, slowly sliding them down to her neck. It took a moment for Logan to register where they were and how many people they were standing in front of.

''Tony,'' she pushed him back. ''Dial it back a little,''

Met with a laugh and Tony's lips crushing hers once again, Logan shook her head and pushed him away once again.

''Subtly is not your style, is it? Seriously, Tony,''

Tony frowned, his hands rubbing her back as he held her tight.

''I just haven't seen you in a while,''

''Just over an hour, you're acting like it's been years,'' she laughed, softly rubbing her thumb against his cheek. ''Think you've had enough to drink?''

''Why? You getting sick of me?'' he laughed.

''Just wondering if I have to send you to the guest bedroom to sleep for the night,'' she shrugged. ''Taking care of a drunk Tony Stark isn't something I want to do when I go to bed,''

''What do you want to do?'' he smirked.

Logan rolled her eyes.

''Go dance or something, I'll keep mingling,''

By mingling, Logan meant looking for the food that was being served all around the house.

It was another hour later when Logan knew Tony had had enough to drink. His slurred speech, his unbalanced walk and the fact that he was breaking everything he touched did nothing for his defense that he wasn't drunk. Logan had lured him away to outside near the pool where it was less crowded.

''Hey, hey Tony?'' Logan put her hand to his face. ''How about we drink some water?''

''Why are you talking to me like that?'' Tony laughed. ''I'm fine babe, I'm not drunk,''

''Tony, I know when you're drunk and I think you've surpassed that actually,''

''It's my birthday!'' he announced as if no one knew, an innocent look on his face.

''I'm aware, but you're wasted. We agreed this wasn't going to be a crazy party,'' she reminded him, her hands clutching at his.

''That's before I made my own promise to myself,'' he shook his head.

''What promise?'' Logan asked, confused.

''Whenever I think too much about things, take a drink, forget,'' he shrugged, not even aware of what he was saying. ''It's been working wonderfully,''

Logan let go of his hands and folded her arms above her stomach, a frown on her face.

''What things, Tony?''

''Everything. Life. My life to be exact,''

Even without hearing his explanation yet, his words hurt her.

''So,'' Logan began, her stance changing to one of anger. ''You've been downing drinks all night not because you wanted to get drunk and party, but because you didn't want to think about your life?''

Tony took a moment to realize how his words had come out. She didn't know he was talking about the palladium, and this wasn't the right time to tell her.

''You're taking it the wrong way,'' he shook his head.

''There's not many ways to take something like that Tony. I thought we were fine?''

''We are fine. There's nothing wrong with us,'' he reached out for her, but she just shrugged his hand away.

''Then what, Tony? You haven't said anything to me about being unhappy about anything,''

Tony desperately wanted to tell her, but even in his drunken state, he knew he couldn't. Not now. Not like this.

''Just forget I said anything,''

''I can't,'' she shook her head. ''How can I forget that you just got drunk because you don't like your life? Just tell me what's going on. If it's not us, then what is it? Is it the baby?''

''No,'' Tony told her firmly.

Logan sighed in frustration and shook her head.

''Then what? Please don't lie to me right now,''

Tony stared at his wife, knowing she was upset and hating himself that he had ruined the night with a few simple words. He couldn't deal with this right now, he couldn't tell her what was going on and he couldn't hide it from her any longer. As Logan watched him with worried eyes, Tony answered her question with silence and walked away, back into the party.

Logan didn't know what to do or think. Up until now she thought everything in their life was fine. Perfect, even. They were so happy about their future, they even talked about moving to a quieter place nearby, Tony's eyes lit up every time they talked about their son growing up. Everything seemed so right, but apparently there was something wrong.

Walking back inside after avoiding the party for half an hour, Logan didn't want to talk to anyone. She wanted to go to bed, to pretend that the last hour hadn't happened and just sleep off everything she was feeling right now. The loud screaming and shouting wasn't helping her either as she walked through the crowd, trying to hold herself together long enough to leave.

''Logan?''

Pepper's hands caught on to her arm, grabbing her attention.

''What's wrong?'' Logan asked after seeing the worry in her eyes.

''You should stay here,'' the woman advised. ''Tony's...''

''He's drunk,'' Logan nodded, an annoyed look on her face. ''Yeah I know, I really don't want to deal with...''

Logan's mouth fell open at the sight she saw after taking a few steps further. Tony was drunk, he was wasted, but most of all he was wearing the Iron Man suit. People cheered him on as he took another swig out of one of the many bottles that surrounded him, encouraging him to do incredibly stupid things. Logan knew that Tony was past the point of logical thinking right now, but there was no excuse for him doing this.

Not only were the government trying to take his suit away because they thought it was too dangerous, but Tony himself knew that they would be waiting for a chance to attack him again and this was the perfect opportunity. It wasn't even the government's plans that bothered Logan right now, it was the fact that the Iron Man suit had endless functions that were all dangerous and Tony was in no state to be operating it right now. But everyone else at the party loved it, throwing things his way to blast to pieces with the repulsors.

''These people need to get out of here,'' Logan shook her head, looking back to Pepper.

It was then that Rhodey walked around the corner and into the party, Pepper immediately rushing over to him.

''I don't know what to do,''

Rhodey looked confused for a moment before he looked up and over the crowd, seeing Tony in his suit and clearly drunk. Logan hadn't seen Rhodey become so angry so quickly, but when he spoke it was hard not to notice how furious he was.

''I don't believe it. I just stuck my neck out for this guy!''

''I know, I know,'' Pepper shook her head.

Logan just stood there staring at her husband, wondering what was going on inside his head. There was something he wasn't telling her and it was serious. It had driven him to acting like this and becoming so intoxicated, but he wouldn't tell her. She was angry that he was such a good liar. That she was his wife who supposedly knew him better than anyone, the person he told everything to, and she hadn't seen any signs of him being unhappy about anything. Logan was angry at him because whatever was bothering him was big enough to resort to this, but not enough to tell her about.

''Just stay here, okay? I'm gonna talk to him,'' Pepper told her with a smile as she walked over.

Rhodey walked over to stand next to Logan as Pepper made her way to Tony. It was pointless though. He wasn't going to reason with her about this. Pepper had dealt with him being drunk hundreds of times, but he was never like this. After Pepper had suggested the party finish and everyone leave, they all thought Tony was cooperating when he agreed. That was until he announced the after-party which had begun right now.

Logan folded her arms and bit down on her lip as she watched Tony stumble into one of the shelves near the D.J and slur his words. The crowd only cheered him on as Pepper walked away, unable to get through to him.

''I can go talk to him,'' Logan suggested. ''But I don't know if he would listen. I don't know a lot of things anymore,''

Rhodey put his hand on Logan's shoulder.

''I'm not letting you go over there, not while he's in that suit, it's dangerous,''

When Pepper walked back to them, Rhodey walked away with a determined stride. They didn't know where he was going, but neither would blame him if he just left.
