They stood in the living room holding one another for quite some time, Logan refusing to let go and Tony more than happy to have her in his embrace. She stopped crying a few minutes earlier when Tony's soothing voice began to trail off, but every time she thought about him dying from palladium poisoning, she couldn't help shuddering and sobbing once again. Tony hated that he was hurting her so much. The way her voice cracked every time she said his name when she cried and the feeling of her hands clutching at him as if he was going to disappear made his heart almost break each time.

Logan couldn't believe that all of this time she could have lost Tony. When she was so angry at him for how he was acting at his party but he was trying to deal with the fact that he was getting worse. Granted, his methods for dealing with his problems weren't the greatest, but she understood that that was how Tony Stark used to deal with things. The Tony Stark who didn't have a wife or family.

''Logan, I'm okay,'' Tony spoke after a while, rubbing her back. ''I've found a replacement for palladium, it's going to be okay,''

Logan nodded as she kept her arms wrapped around his neck.

''But you weren't okay,'' she sobbed. ''And I didn't even know,''

''I'm sorry, I should have told you,''

''I should have noticed though. You're my husband, I'm supposed to know you better than anyone and I didn't even pick up on the fact you were...dying,''

Tony stepped back, cupping his wife's face in his hands gently.

''Don't do that,'' he shook his head. ''This isn't your fault, I kept this from you. You didn't notice because I'm a good liar when I need to be, but I'll never hide anything from you again I promise,''

Logan's tears ran down onto Tony's fingers as he brushed them away, wishing the his wife didn't feel like this.

''I can't do this without you,'' she ran her fingers through his hair. ''You can't leave, you can't...you can't die Tony,''

''I won't, I will never leave you or our son,'' he promised. ''I'm staying right here,''

Before Logan could voice her concerns anymore, Tony dipped his head down and pressed his lips to hers. It wasn't like the kisses they'd shared over the past few weeks, it was more passionate and desperate than usual. The fact she almost lost him, that he had to watch his wife realize that she came close to doing this on her own, everything had built up and they just needed each other in their arms.

''I love you,'' Tony breathed against her lips. ''So much,''

''I love you too,'' Logan rested her forehead against his. ''Please don't do that again. If you died and I didn't know...if I had to find you...''

''I know, I'm sorry. It's okay now, it's all over, it's gonna be fine,''

Despite the whole house basically being reduced to rubble, they had found that the living room couch was still untouched. Logan had sat down with Tony beside her, talking about everything that had gone on that past few months. After the initial tears, Logan could listen to him explain exactly why he had kept his condition from her. She understood his point, but she didn't agree at all. That was why she was his wife, to be with him through everything in life. She wanted to know when it began and how bad it became, amazed by how much she had missed.

''The other night at the party, I gave up,'' he admit. ''I didn't want you around me because I didn't want you to see me when the palladium finally...killed me,''

Logan bit down on her lip with concern.

''I would have wanted to be with you,''

''I know, but I'd rather you think I'm an ass instead,'' he shrugged.

''A really drunk ass,'' she corrected. ''Really, really drunk,''

Tony winced at the memory and of the morning after.

''I remember,'' he nodded. ''Vaguely,''

''You know you do this every time something bad happens,'' Logan pointed out. ''You push me away and act like a jerk. I know because you've done it before and yet I still didn't pick up on it. I guess I thought you didn't have to do that anymore, that you could tell me anything,''

''From now on I will. I know I promised that a long time ago and I screwed up by keeping this from you, but I'm serious now. No more lying, no more messing around. Losing you and our son is my biggest fear, I don't think clearly when it comes to that,''

Logan reached out and grabbed his hand, holding it tight in hers.

''That's sweet,'' she smiled. ''And I appreciate that you told me, but I'm still...I don't like that you hid it from me. I know why you did, but I can't stop thinking about what our last words would have been to each other if the palladium killed you,''

''You don't have to think about it anymore, it's not gonna happen,'' he lifted his hand to rest on her stomach. ''Right now all we have to think about is these next few days,''

Logan grinned, putting her hand on top of his.

''I can't believe we're going to be parents,'' she shook her head. ''I don't feel like a mom,''

''And I definitely don't feel like a dad,'' Tony chuckled.

''At least we're in it together,'' Logan sighed, content.

Just hours ago she thought she was going to be doing all of this on her own, that Tony had changed his mind about their life together and that he was involved in something so dangerous that she couldn't be anywhere near it. But all of those worries were gone now. Even though Tony had just told her that he came extremely close to death because of the palladium, there was a cure, he had found a way to fix it and stay with her.

Logan wanted to stay mad at him and yell at him for what he did, for keeping it from her for so long and not considering the fact that if he did die Logan would have no idea, but she couldn't. When someone you love tells you they came close to dying, all you take into account is the fact that they are still there with you. They survived.

''How did you find the replacement?'' Logan asked, reaching one hand up to touch the arc reactor on Tony's chest.

''I...made a new element,''

''Right,'' Logan chuckled. ''Seriously though,''

''I am serious. Don't you see the massive holes in the ground and walls? I remodeled the house to fit all the equipment in the workshop. Those guys from SHIELD drew me into it, found some stuff my dad left behind and I ended up making a new element, simple as that,''

Logan's mouth was dangling open as he spoke, amazed that someone could even do that. It was impossible, but he had managed it.

''Can I see it?''

To answer, Tony stood up and extended his hand out for her to grab, helping her up off the couch. Every time he saw her standing in front of him, he was amazed at how lucky he was to have her. Now, with her stomach larger than ever and her features glowing, he took a moment to take in the sight of her. When Logan gave him a look, wondering what he was staring at, Tony pressed his lips to hers with a smile and then began walking them over to the stairs.

He was glad that he had told Logan, it was a huge weight off his shoulders and although it made his heart ache to see her so upset, he was glad it was over now. Now they could focus on the future completely. Once Tony began using the new arc reactor core after Jarvis was finished with tests, he would be worry free.

When they reached the stairs, Tony made sure to hold Logan's hand as they walked down as there was glass all over the ground and pieces of metal scattered everywhere. Logan was used to Tony's workshop being a mess, but she wasn't prepared for it to look anything like it did now. It wasn't a workshop anymore it was a fully functioning lab. A lab Tony had used to synthesize a new element.

Tony lead her over to the small stand in the middle of the workshop that held a glowing blue triangle, but it was lighter in color than the current circle in Tony's chest.

''That's it,'' Tony told her proudly.

''Wow,'' Logan shook her head, moving closer to analyze it. ''It's glowing,''

''It's powerful. I won't need anything else in my chest after this and there's nothing else like it out there,''

Logan looked up at him with concerned eyes.

''It won't...will it hurt you like this one?'' she pointed to his chest.

''No, it's nothing like this one. Jarvis is still doing tests-''

''Incoming call from a blocked number,'' Jarvis informed him.

Logan looked to Tony in confusion and he looked excited.

''Phone privileges reinstated,'' he cheered. ''Hey Coulson, how's the land of enchantment?''

''Hey Tony, how you doing?''

Tony paused at the familiar voice, his body freezing. Ivan Vanko. He was supposed to be dead, killed in a prison explosion weeks ago, but he sounded very much alive.

''I double cycle,'' the crazed man told him.

Logan folded her arms and listened into the call that was on loudspeaker, wondering who it was. Given Tony's expression when she looked at him, it wasn't a welcomed call.

''You sound pretty spry for a dead guy,'' Tony told him.

''You too,'' Vanko remarked.

Tony smirked at his response, but he wasn't entertained; he was pissed.

''Now the true history of the Stark name will be rewritten,'' Vanko began, and Logan then realized who it was, her eyes widening in horror. ''What your father did to my family over forty years, I will do to you in forty minutes,''

''Sounds good, let's get together and hash it out,'' Tony suggested.

''I hope you're ready,''

The phone went silent then as Vanko ended their call. Tony had been tracing it, leading him to the basic area where Vanko was calling from. As he thought for a moment, everything was beginning to make sense. The Stark Expo was tonight and when Rhodey took one of the Iron Man suits the other night and delivered it to the military, it made sense for them to use Justin Hammer to made modifications to it. There was no secret that Hammer wanted an Iron Man suit and that Vanko knew how to create the proper technology to power it.

''Tony?'' Logan spoke up. ''He's supposed to be dead,''

''I know, something's going on,''

''He's coming for you,''

''No, I'm going to him,''

Tony stood up, walking over to the stand with the new arc reactor.

''Tony! That's insane! You don't know what that thing will do!''

''Sir!'' Jarvis protested when Tony took the reactor from it's place.

Tony took out his current core, tossing it away and replacing it with the new one.

''You wanna run some tests? Run 'em,'' Tony called out to the A.I.

Logan watched on worriedly as Tony adjusted to the new reactor, his chest heaving.

''Ugh,'' he groaned. ''That tastes like coconut and metal. Oh wow, yeah!''

''Tony?''

''It's fine, I feel great,'' he smiled over to her. ''It works!''

Logan smiled in relief, but it was hard to let herself enjoy the moment when Tony was planning to go after Vanko right away.

''Tony, what are you planning to do? He's expecting you to go after him, that's why he called!''

''Maybe, but I have an idea of what's going on and I think I can stop it,'' he told her. ''Look, I know we've had a rough afternoon and I wanted to just focus on us from now on, but I have to find this guy before he finds me or worse,''

Logan remained silent as he spoke, understanding that this was what he did. Tony wasn't just her husband, he was Iron Man.

''I don't want to let you go now, I only just got you back,'' she told him, stepping over to put her hands on his chest, marveling at his work on the new element.

''I don't want to go either, but I can't risk anything happening. I'm going to come back though, I promise,'' he rubbed his thumb along her cheek. ''Nothing's gonna stop me from coming home,''

Logan smiled, accepting the kiss he planted on her lips.

''Where are you going?''

''To the Expo, I have a feeling something's going on, the timing makes sense since Hammer has a presentation,'' Tony explained. ''I'll call Happy-''

Tony paused when he remembered that Happy had gone with Pepper to the Expo, now staying by her side since she was the CEO.

''I can stay here,''

''No, Vanko might have something else planned,''

''I can go to Drews,'' she told him. ''I'm safe there, no one knows I'll be there,''

Tony thought for a moment.

''Okay, go there, don't go anywhere else and stay there until you hear from me,''

Logan nodded and began to walk away, but Tony grabbed her arm and spun her around. Kissing her as if they'd been apart for years, Tony held her to him for a few moments before pulling away.

''I love you,''

''I love you too,'' Logan kissed him again. ''Be careful,''

Logan had rushed back to Drew's apartment, trying to calm herself down the whole way. She hoped that Tony was going to be okay, she couldn't even let herself think of what might happen. She had already come so close to losing him, she couldn't think of a life without him.

Looking around the car when she stepped outside, Logan tried to seem normal and not paranoid as she walked into Drew's apartment building, noticing his car was no longer there. He was at their office working that day, but Logan was glad she would have the place to herself, she wouldn't have to explain everything to Drew.

When she made it upstairs to his apartment, Logan hurried inside and slammed the door shut, but she let out a scream of surprise when she heard a voice behind her.

''Mrs Stark,'

Logan jolted and turned around to see two men standing in the apartment with business suits on. She hadn't seen either of them before, but she instantly knew that they weren't Stark Industries and they weren't here for a pleasant visit. It wasn't until she looked closer that she saw Hammer Industries written on their security pass clipped to their pocket.

''We're gonna need you to come with us,''
