Epilogue

The Grid was dark when Harry finally looked up from his paperwork. Towers was dead. By his own hand. He shook his head, the man had been a coward and had taken the one way out that there was no going back from. Sighing he pinched the end of his nose trying to order his thoughts.

"Adam and Ros have sent everyone home." Ruth stated as she walked into his office. Harry nodded. He had known Ruth would wait for him. "And I called Catherine. The wedding is back on."

"Good." Harry smiled, opening his eyes to rest on the mug of coffee sat on the corner of his desk. Ruth watched as he stared at the mug, emblazoned with large blue letters to spell out BEST DAD. It had been a Father's Day gift earlier in the year. "Ruth, I spoke with the Home Secretary."

"Towers is dead. Moran practically bragged about what he had done. Beth told me, I'll analyse the interviews properly tomorrow but we got two very twisted men off the street."

"Moran's children died."

"Like I said, he is a twisted man."

"Wonder if they ever bought him a mug like this." Harry picked up the coffee mug as Ruth sighed. "You should be in rehab."

"I said no."

"You sound like an Amy Winehouse song." Ruth raised an eyebrow.

"Excuse me?"

"Rehab."

"Ah." Ruth smiled slightly as he crossed the room to her. Gently he hugged her as her hands held him to her.

"You could have died in that bombing. You and Squeek. Graham." He closed his eyes, fighting the emotion. Ruth drew invisible circles on his back as she waited for him to settle.

"We are all still here. Our kids are tough. Like their dad." She smiled as he cupped her face. "And this time next month you'll be a father in law. They've booked everything back in." Harry groaned.

"Father of the bride. Now that really is unknown territory." Ruth laughed as he kissed her. Gently she took his hand before stepping back.

"Home." Ruth stated firmly as Harry nodded before following her out of the Grid.
