The next morning when Miku woke up, Meiko was already up and about while Luka was either still in her necklace or out somewhere else. The girl didn't want to risk irritating the genie again and left the necklace alone as she got ready for school. But right before she went out the door, Meiko nudged her leg with the necklace between her teeth, gesturing for the girl to take it. Miku gave the cat a pat on the head and slung the piece of jewellery around her neck.

Unlike the day before, the walk to school lacked an invisible genie following her around. Gumi appeared when Miku reached the school's gate and the two friends struck up a conversation till they reached their class. Today's first class was History with Kiyoteru-sensei and everyone knew not to mess with him. All the students scrambled to their seats, waiting for the teacher to arrive.

Everyone kept quiet as a figure stopped outside the classroom door and slid it open slowly. The students were surprised when a tall brunette, no older than 25, walked into class.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Sakine-sensei and I'll be filling in for Kiyoteru-sensei for a while. He has some family matters to attend to. Until he comes back, I'll be your History teacher." While most of the students let out a relieved sigh, Miku just kept staring at the new teacher, wondering why she seemed so familiar.

Other than the few curious stares the new teacher received and disregarded, the lesson went on as usual. At one point, Sakine-sensei walked passed Miku's desk and slipped her a piece of paper indicating for the girl to wait by the front gate after school. Sending a questioning look at the new teacher who just passed by, the girl just shoved the piece of paper into the pocket of her skirt.

"Hey, why aren't you going yet?" Although the last bell of the day had rung and half the students were already out the gate, Miku was just sitting at her desk waiting.

"I just have some stuff to do. You go on ahead first, Gumi."

"Alright, see you tomorrow." The tealette just sat there as she watched the last few students leave. Bored, the girl let her mind drift off and wonder about some of the questions she had. Where was Luka? Is she still mad about yesterday? Where have I seen Sakine-sensei before? Why does she want me to wait here for?

Twenty minutes has passed since the girl started wondering and there was still no sign of Sakine-sensei. The school was pretty much empty by then.

Suddenly, the tealette was sent flying and hit the ground with an audible grunt. Miku looked back up only to find a wild creature resembling a werewolf towering over her,

"Where is it?!" It howled at such a high decibel that it almost caused the girl's eardrums to perforate. It readied its claws, getting ready to slice through the girl. But right before the creature's paw and Miku's face came into contact, a large tiger burst out of nowhere and lunged for the creature.

The tiger ripped out the creature's throat with its mouth and continued to maul at its body until there was no movement. The tiger then turned to face the girl.

Miku began to panic as the tiger slowly made its way to her. The tealette started to back away from the approaching tiger until she heard it speak in a voice she just heard today "I'm not going to kill you."

"Sakine-sensei...?" Unsure if she heard right, the girl just stared at the tiger with a confused face. The large animal the proceeded to transform back into its human form.

"I'd rather you call me Meiko when classes are over." The teacher from before now stood in front of Miku offering her a hand to get up. She grabbed the extended hand with her shaky one and got back on her feet.

"You're Meiko the cat?" The tealette seemed fairly surprised how this was going and now had even more questions flying through her mind.

"Yes. Are you hurt anywhere?" Though many questions surrounded her brain, there was one thing she needed to know first.

"No and what was that thing?"

"That was what we call rogues. They attack anything that has control over magic and now that you're Luka's master, you control her magic. They're the reason I told you to wait for me but it seems like I wasn't quick enough."

Miku headed over to where the rogue's body laid to get her bag. The body was already falling apart when the girl reached there. Miku just stared at it as it decomposed at an alarming rate.

"What do we do with the body?"

"Just leave it. It'll be nothing more than dust in a few minutes."

"I see you've been attacked by a rogue already. Meiko, you should be more careful next time." said the bespectacled man as the duo walked into the shop. Luka was also there. She was sitting by a table near the counter sipping on some tea.

"Can it, Gakupo." snarled the brunette. Arms were put in the air defensively as he replied her with a joking smile.

"Stop bickering."

"Yes, master." the two said simultaneously. Luka put down her cup and looked at the girl.

"Miku, because you released me, you get three wishes. The sooner you make those three wishes, the sooner you'll be free from the rogues and the sooner I'll be free from you, so let's get on with it."

"Can I wish for more wishes?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

"Can you give me more wishes?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

"Can I use my three wishes, and then release you from your necklace again to get another three more wishes?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I said so." This conversation continued on with various questions and similar answers until one of them couldn't take it anymore

"Can I-"

"Just make a wish already!" by then the genie was fairly annoyed with her 'master' and felt like wrapping her hands around her neck for a while. A tiny pout formed on the young girl's lips as she was cut off mid sentence. "But I don't know what to wish for yet."

"Then just wish for a glass of water or something." her fingers were attempting to get rid of her growing irritation by massaging her temples as she spoke.

"But that'd just be a waste of a wish."

"Fine, I'll let you think it over but don't take too long. And I'd suggest you head home now, it is getting dark."

Looking out the shop's window, Miku realized that the sun was almost below the horizon already and there were only a few people left on the streets.

"Alright."

For most of that night, Miku laid awake, thinking about what she should wish for. She tossed and turned, waking up Meiko, now in her cat form, several times. Just like the night before, Luka returned into her necklace when they got home and stayed in there.

The tealette just stared at the pink butterfly that rested on her bedside table unable to sleep. Suddenly, an idea struck her, she had finally thought of the first wish she would make.
