Ghostly Friends

Sleepover

It has been a few days since the three had visited Killua in the middle of the night and already the house looks emptier and emptier each time they come to visit to the point where the visits become sadder and each time they leave they feel like they're leaving something behind only for the movers to pick it up again the next day.

"Have you seen the black figure lately?" Kurapika asked one evening after the movers had left for that day. Already the attic was almost empty with a few boxes scattered here and there with some lone pictures that were so dusty you could barely even see what they were meant to be showing. Killua didn't turn around to look at him, instead found some interest in a lone white cat a few houses down cleaning itself.

"No, but I feel it watching me as if waiting." he replied shortly, blue eyes following as the white cat disappeared slowly into the shadows where it was no longer seen. He turned around to face the others, Gon busy trying to salvage something from within the boxes that he deemed too important for Killua to loose, only failing in doing so. "Ne, Gon," the spiky haired boy looked up from where he was half hanging inside of the box, giving a small sneeze from the old dust. "Can I sleep over?"

"Sure!" he went back to digging inside the box a little happier than before.

"Wait, are you sure you can do that?" Leorio asked him, surprised. Killua hummed with a nod of his head, watching in boredom as Gon decided to go through another box.

"Yup. Why not before I go? I'm not going to be here much longer." he replied with a slight monotone, a small smile on his lips as he watched Gon losing his balance and falling into the box with a small yelp and a sneeze that followed. Kurapika and Leorio paid no attention to Gon as he lumbered out of the box clumsily muttering lowly to himself and rubbing at his nose with the back of his hand before resuming his search.

"But what about your energy? Gon told us that the longer you are off the property the more you exert yourself. If you sleep over at Gon's it'll be a full night, is that even safe?" Kurapika asked raising a delicate eyebrow. Killua gave a small chuckle and stretched his legs out in front of him while he was still sitting in the window seat.

"It's going to be a full moon night tonight meaning that I can wonder around all I want without exerting myself. The moon gives me energy for some unknown strange reason, but it's better than nothing." Killua explained to them as he continued to watch Gon who had finally left the last box while muttering unhappily under his breath and went to some of the pictures lying about, wiping them off with his hands so he was able to see them better.

"What about people seeing you? Wouldn't that be a problem?" Kurapika added, thinking of all the situations he could in his head.

"Don't you guys know anything? I can choose who gets to see me or not. It's a choosing game. If I want some random stranger on the street to see me, I'll let him but if he has his friend with him I won't let him see me. It's like opening someone's eyes for the first time forcefully." Killua sighed, exasperated by all the questions. "If you're so curious about all this stuff, why don't you just ask Gon yourself? He seems to be the Killua expert." he said in amusement with a small smile on his lips. Kurapika was about to say something else when Killua jumped off the seat he was in and stuffed his hands in his pockets, starting to walk out the door like a normal person, something the others weren't really used to seeing since he would appear to wherever he would like all the time. "Let's go Gon before your Aunt notices that you've been gone too long, plus you have school and knowing the blonde over there, he wouldn't want you to fall asleep during class." Killua called out to the spiky haired boy, starting to descend the staircase of the attic. Gon looked behind him towards him friend, suddenly supporting a real big smile as he bounced up to his full height and ran after him.

"Okay! Coming Killua!" he sang happily, a little sing-like tone to his voice as he hummed a tone to himself.

Leorio and Kurapika were soon left all alone in the attic staring at where the white haired ghost and spiky haired kid disappeared with blank looks on their faces.

"Something tells me Killua just wants to go to Gon's house for another reason." Kurapika said while Leorio nodded in agreement, both then taking their leave to head to their own houses for the night.

"This is your room?" Killua asked in mild interest as he nudged a ball lying on the floor with his toe, Gon skipping happily towards his bed without tripping over a single thing on his overly messy floor, sitting down with a silent plop as he looked up at Killua with a wide grin.

"Yup! How do you like it?" he asked, obviously looking for some type of approval from the ghost. Killua stopped nudging the ball and instead swept the room over with his sharp blue eyes, a white eyebrow raised ever so slightly. He never would have thought Gon's room would be this messy. Sure he imaged it to be messy, but a moderate messy where there were a few articles of clothing lying about with maybe a few games as well, nothing a bit more than that, but this… this was nothing he would of thought it would look like. Papers overwhelmed the desk on the far wall to the point that they fell off and created little hills, some crumpled pieces of rejected works of some kind thrown about randomly along with cans of soda and other type of drinks. What seemed to be Gon's whole wardrobe was strewn about in lumps or isolated alone. Board games were opened, paused from where Gon had last stopped and never picked up, the pieces being messed with over time. Balls, markers, headphones, stuff animals, and even a balloon also helped contribute to the mess that was Gon's room; there was hardly a wooden floor that you could see under the mess.

"Um…" Killua started out awkwardly, not really knowing what to say. "It's… uh… it's very unique." he finished, looking at Gon and nodding his head as if he was telling himself that, yes, it was unique… in it's own Gon-style way. Gon smiled wider at the praise and bounced a little on the bed, even more excited that Killua was over than before. "Never seen anything like it." Killua added with a mutter under his breath as his eyes once again swept over Gon's room.

"I know right?!" Gon asked excitedly. "Aunt Mito thinks I should keep it more tidy but I feel like it expresses who I am." he said, suddenly standing up abruptly with an idea. "I know, let's play a game!" and while Gon bent over and gave all his attention to what he was trying to find in the mess that was his room, Killua was suddenly holding his skateboard that had a note tapped to it and slipped it underneath his bed before he straightened up just in time for Gon to pop upright with a board game in hand.

"Let's stay up all night!" Gon cheered happily as he unloaded the board game on his bed. Killua couldn't help but smile fondly as he joined him on the bed.

"Do I hear a challenge?" he teased playfully.
