Lucy/Fred
Prompt: Awkward
Awkward

Fred groaned. "Why does she have to babysit?"
Angelina bent over the dresser to look in the mirror as she applied deep red lipstick to finish her outfit.
"Because, it's Mummy and Daddy's anniversary and we're going out." She turned around to face her son. "And I don't trust you to be alone in the house with your little sister."
Fred crossed his arms petulantly. "Why? It's not like I'd blow up the house or anything."
Angelina raised her eyebrows. "The last time your father and I went out, you; Fred Weasley, broke into the downstairs storage room and set off fifty fireworks. And set Roxanne's hair on fire."
He sighed and threw his arms in the air. "Fine, so I can't be trusted. But why can't Dom babysit? Or Teddy? Even Vic would be more fun than Lucy."
"Because I happen to trust Lucy. And she's bringing Molly over, so that Roxie has a friend. Now, stop complaining, and hand me those earrings sitting on the bed."
Fred rolled his eyes, but did as he was told. Angelina slipped them through her ears and then stood back to admire herself in the mirror. She twirled in the mirror, her red dress flaring out at her knees, and stepped into a pair of small, strappy shoes. Minutes later, George burst out of the ensuite bathroom, dressed in a purple shirt, dress jeans and maroon tie.
"Ready to go, Ange?" he asked. She nodded and reached for her black clutch, before straightening his tie.
"Sure am. Just waiting for Percy to drop the girls off."
George nodded and winked at his young son, who was sitting on the bed end with a scowl plastered on his face.
"Be good for Lucy now, kiddo," he smirked, as Fred gave a dramatic eye roll and hopped off the bed.
"Yeah, yeah," he mumbled as he left the room.
George chuckled and slunk an arm around his wife. "Poor kid. This'll be the most miserable night of his life."
Angelina laughed and kissed her husband's cheek gently. "Maybe this'll teach him not to light his sister's hair on fire the next time he's left alone."
The two of them headed downstairs, when the bell sounded in the shop, and soon, Percy entered the flat with Lucy and Molly on his heel. Molly beamed and ran to George, throwing her arms enthusiastically around his waist. George grinned and spun her around, making her squeal with laughter.
"Hey, Molly Moo," he cried, planting a loud kiss on her cheek that made her screw up her face. "Hey, Lucy Goose," he greeted his other niece.
The brown haired girl gave him a forced smile and nodded her head formally. "Hello, Uncle George and Aunt Angelina," she said in a slight monotone.
"Thanks for bringing the girls over, Perce," Angeline thanked Percy, who shrugged his shoulders.
"Not a problem. Audrey's rented a Muggle film that she wants to watch, so it's good to have the girls out for the night. We can spend some quality time together."
George waggled his eyebrows at his brother. "I know exactly what you mean, dear brother," he smirked, causing Percy to turn bright red.
"Erm, yes, well, have a good night tonight. Happy Anniversary."
"Thanks, Perce. Give my best to Audrey for me."
Percy nodded and kissed each of his daughter's on their cheeks before leaving.
"Where's Roxie?" Molly asked as soon as her father had left.
"She's upstairs," George replied.
The young girl beamed and raced up to her cousin's bedroom, leaving Angelina and George alone with Lucy.
"So, Lucy, there's some leftover shepherd's pie in the fridge that you can reheat for dinner," Angelina turned towards her niece. "Roxie's bedtime is 8pm and Fred's is 9pm. Oh, and don't let Freddie near the storage room, okay."
Lucy nodded. "Of course, Aunt Angelina."
Fred suddenly stumbled down the stairs and froze when he saw his cousin.
Angelina frowned at him. "Fred, say 'hello' to your cousin. Where is your manners?"
"Hi, Lucy," he muttered.
"Hi, Fred," she replied.
George and Angelina exchanged exasperated looks. "You two kids have fun alright. We'll be back late."
Fred and Lucy waved goodbye as they left. An awkward silence filled room as the two cousins stared at the ground, refusing to acknowledge each other.
"So," Fred began in an attempt to break the ice. "How are... things?"
"Good," Lucy replied, nodded her head. "And you?"
"Good."
Silence.
It was going to be a long night.
A/N: So, what did you think? As you can probably gather, Lucy is not very well liked my her cousins. Particularly her boy cousins. It might seem a little harsh, but she's just very formal and serious and sensible, and Fred is the exact opposite. Therefore, they clash.
Ages: Lucy (13), Fred (11), Molly (9), Roxanne (8).
