It was in the way he held himself. The way he paraded through the halls with his gaggle of followers, as though he was king. And to many he was king; with a famous father, and several famous relatives, combined with his casual charm, his Quidditch prowess and his good looks, it seemed fitting that he felt he was above the rest of the school. Even as a child, when he had always been the centre of attention. It just suited him.
Lucy watched with envy as her cousin strolled down the centre of the great court, his head held high and chest puffed out proudly. He ran his hand through the back of his hair, making it stick up like his father's and grandfather's before him. Although he was only a fifth year, he had this dominant presence that made everyone turn and stare as he entered the room. It made Lucy angry.
'What was so brilliant about James Potter anyway?' she thought bitterly as she ate a spoonful of porridge. He wasn't the greatest wizard. She, herself, was Head Girl, and yet even she couldn't command such an audience amongst her peers if she tried. Hardly anyone noticed shy, bossy Lucy Weasley. But even the first years admired the heroic James Potter.
Lucy scowled as she ate the rest of her porridge. It really wasn't fair. She tried to ignore it and continue eating her breakfast, but every so often, her eyes would glance over at the Gryffindor table as James lorded over them with his wit and his humour. Hogwarts was James's empire and he was their king. And Lucy Weasley didn't like it one bit.
A/N: Sorry it's been so long guys. I've been really busy and haven't had much of a chance to write. I know this is a short one, but I hope you enjoy it.
