The world was falling apart around her and yet Becca Crane could do nothing but sit once more at the Reaper table and pray that no one said a word. The day of the hearing had come and gone and Becca had thought she knew what she was in for. She had a defense prepared that would get Tara off the hook and in turn she would be on a plane to Manhattan where she would be able to go back to her life and the three lives that she was responsible for. Everything would go back to normal and she would never have to come back to Charming and see Quinn ever again.

But instead she had gone in like a naive little girl and the DA had charged Tara with another count of murder in the cold case of one Kyle Mathers. Just hearing that name had sent chills down Becca's spine. The evidence they presented was his unearthed dead body and Tara's DNA and blood all over his clothes and the shovel that had been buried with him in the deep grave he had been found in almost thirteen years after he had gone missing. The hearing had been a disaster and Tara was refused bail.

Exiting the court room Jax and his fellow Reapers had been glaring at Becca and she had seen the fear and the anger in Tara's eyes. Fear for the nightmare and secrets this was going to drag up and anger at Becca because it should have been her sitting there. After all it was Becca who had brought the shovel down on his head and shattered his skull and taken the life out of his eyes. It had been Becca who had dug the grave with nothing but her bare hands. It had been Becca who had saved Tara from rape and certain death at the hands of a serial rapist and wife beater. But those facts did not matter to the DA. They said that even if he had committed all of those crimes his murderer still needed to be held accountable and be brought to justice with the fullest extent of the law.

Now sitting across from the man who Tara loved and the father of her children Becca could feel the guilt and the fear come flaring back. She looked down at her hands and could still see the blood on her hands. And no matter what she did it never seemed to fade. And looking into the eyes that were boring into her skull she wanted nothing more than to simply give in and tell them everything. Tell all of SAMCRO what she had done to save her friend in a moment of desperation and the sins that she had committed since in the name of her career.

She knew she was no innocent angel but she had always been able to shove aside the guilt of working with some of the clients she did under the justification that it paid the bills and that none of the aftermath of battle was any of her concern. But here it was. Here the fallout was the result of her own actions and the inability of Tara to tell the man whom she had married the truth about why she left Charming all those years ago and the secret that they both had been carrying ever since.
