Dimitri and Rose's confrontation
The next morning the Hathaway family ate with Oskana and Mark. The twins were seated on both sides of Rose, refusing to let their eyes leave her, thinking that if they take their eyes off her she would just disappear from thin air. After breakfast was finished Rose led Mark to the backyard where she proceeded to teach him the bases of magic that applied to darkness. About an hour into the less the Belikov family arrived and started to enter the house. Just as Rose was about to enter the house, some one held her wrist in a gentle grip. She turned around and saw that it was Dimitri, although she didn't really need to turn around because she would recognize his touch blinded folded.
"Rose, May I speak with to you?" Dimitri was desperate and Rose could see that in his eyes, though she showed him a look of indifference. She turned back towards the door to see Rozalia and Ruşen with a worried expression on their faces, mainly Rozalia's, Ruşen looked like he wanted to do nothing more than to keep the man who had hurt his mother as far away from her as possible, though Rose knew that this talk could not be avoided so after she sent a look of reassurance to the twins she led Dimitri to a secluded part of the garden in the backyard and waited.
"Roza. How have you been?" Dimitri finally spoke.
"If that is all you have to ask Guardian Belikov then I will head back inside," Rose stated as she started to leave but was once again stopped.
"NO! What I wanted to say was, I'm sorry," Dimitri apologized but Rose did not want to hear any apologizes from him.
"Don't you think that that apologize is 17 years too late?" Rose asked him with her own question.
"I know that no amount of apologizes can make up for the hurt and the hardships you faced but Roza,"
"Stop right there. I am not Roza, my name is Rose! You lost al rights to call me that the day you left me 17 years ago!"
"Rose, please I know I have no right to say this but I want to help you with your troubles. I want to be with you. I never should have left,"
"You're right. You shouldn't have left. You had no right to decide what was good for me. I control my own actions," Rose once again interrupted him.
"I know and for that I will be forever sorry. I just want to be in your life now, as well as Rozalia's and Ruşen's,"
"If Ro and Ruşen want you in their life then I will not stop them but know this Guardian Belikov. Whatever feelings we had for each other ended 17 years. I will protect my children from anything that wants to harm them, whether it be emotionally or physically." With that statement said Rose went back inside the house where the twins greeted her at the doorway while Dimitri stared in the same direction for several more moments before he too went into the house. Once he was inside everyone was seated in the living room Rose began to tell her tale and also the explanations to the twin's powers.
"There was a legend that was lost throughout history. A legend about good and evil and damphires who had been revived from the dead."
Since the creation of damphires, moroi and strigori there has always been a fine line between good and evil. To keep those who had evil intentions in their hearts they were sent to hell as a prison while those who were forcefully turned would be cleansed. The element spirit back then was known as a myth but people believed in it. Since the creation of the academy was not yet suggested damphires were much more easily killed and turned because of their lack of education and training. Those with the spirit element often revived their guardians and in return the guardians would absorb the darkness that comes with the usage of the element. There is however an unknown price at the time. People who died should not be alive and so the magic that was used to revive the guardians started to be rejected by the body. Once it reaches a point where the guardian has no more life energy to sustain the body, the body shuts down and the guardian withers away into nothing. One guardian however was spared by the Creator of all and was thus the first ever Gate Guardian, protector of the gate between the living, hell, and the reincarnation bridge. Gate Guardians are chosen among the guardians who have been revived by the element spirit and must have a strong will so that they are not taken over by the darkness that they absorb from the moroi. Through rigorous training the gate guardians learn how to purify the darkness into light and use that power to protect the gates. Once every century an individual is chosen to become the head of the gate guardians (queen or king) and use their powers to protect the gates at all costs. Their children are also blessed with the powers of a gate guardian but is also equally cursed with the power of darkness, if their wills are proven to be true they will become gate guardians as well and protect the gates at their parents sides.
"Rozalia, Ruşen, because you two are my children you have the power of both darkness and light but it all depends on your will whether or not the darkness will take over your mind. I can train you to purify the darkness and use its power as your own," informed Rose with a slight frown on her face.
"Mom, we want you to train us. We want to protect you like you protected us without us knowing it. I don't want to be separated from you again," cried Rozalia.
"That's right mom. You've protected us for so long, its our turn now," Ruşen was determined.
"Its my job to protect you, not as a gate guardian but as your mom, but it will be my honor to train you two if that is what you wish," Rose said softly. Ruşen and Rozalia both nodded with a determined look in their eye, which displayed so much life, like Rose's did when she was younger.
"Kiz, what's going to happen now? What's this new evil that's after Ro and Ruşen?" questioned Abe but before he could answer a bright light flashed in the middle of the room which blinded everyone momentarily, after the light faded two people appeared in pure white clothing with white wings, Anna and Vladimir.
"That is a question that we can answer," replied Anna.
"How are you settling back into your body Rose?" questioned Vladimir.
"I'm having no troubles so far. So has there been any movement?" Rose was serious, and her tone of voice was regal like royalty.
"Yes, I'm afraid so. It seems as though they're planning to attack the court in about 2 weeks, maybe even sooner," informed Anna.
"No! We have to get back there right now, I have to get the people ready," cried Lisa.
"There's not enough time. Plus the court guardians do not have the right weapons to fight with. Anna get squad 2 ready for battle a any moments notice," Rose commanded.
"I'll go do that as soon as I return," Anna acknowledged the command.
"Vladimir, please go check on the prison hell gate, make sure that there is not a single crack or leak, if there is come get me immediately,"
"It will be done," nodded Vladimir. As soon as the orders were given out both Anna and Vladimir vanished.
"Baba, can you please get your jet ready to get us to court as soon as possible?" asked Rose.
"Consider it done kiz," Abe walked away to speak on the phone.
"Lisa don't worry we'll make it back in time to get everything ready to protect the people at court," Rose reassured Lisa who was in Christian's arms crying. Lisa nodded towards Rose, knowing that with Rose here everything would be all right. Rose, stared out the window, feeling a sense of dread for the upcoming battle, the first of many in the future.
So what did you guys think. No way is Dimitri going to have it that easy, there's going to be more head slaps and butt kicking for Dimitri. PLEASE REVIEW!
