"And before I knew it, Metal Sonic had the chaos emeralds and used them to destroy the death egg" Eggman said as he finished up on story to tell to the group, he was currently sitting on the couch with Sonic and Tails by his sides.
"What else happened?" Amy asked.
"Once he destroyed the death egg, he took the energy of the emeralds and shot it all down at the planet" Eggman continued with fear in his voice "he has awoken dark Gaia".
"Oh no!" Tails said.
"Like, what's dark Gaia?" Shaggy asked, unfamiliar with the said creature.
"I read about Dark Gaia" Velma said "he's an ancient spirit formed at the dawn of space and time and is the incarnation of darkness, destruction and night".
"Jeepers! That's sounds terrifying!" Daphne said.
"Not only that, but if he's awaken then he'll destroy the planet!" Velma said.
"Zoinks! Like there's something I don't want to happen!" Shaggy said as he and Scooby shivered in fear.
"That stupid robot! Does he have any idea on what he's done?" Fred asked.
"Apparently not since it's probably connected to the witch Scooby has seen" Shadow said, everyone gave him confused looks when he spoke up again "think about it, this all started happening when that witch showed up and now Metal's gone ramped!'
"Shadow may actually be onto something" Tails said.
"I agree, whatever this witches intentions are must be linked to Metal Sonic's plan!" Eggman said.
"But how can we be so sure that a witch is behind this?" Sonic asked "I mean, how can a witch control Metal Sonic?"
"Excellent question, my old nemesis…." A chilling voice said, everyone suddenly froze in their place as they all slowly turned around to see the crystalized witch floating in the room, everyone suddenly screamed while Omega aimed his blaster at it.
"Destroy!" he said as he fired at him but none of his bullets had penetrated its body.
"It's Revolta!" Sibella gasped.
"Who?" Knuckles asked.
"Like, long story!" Shaggy said as he and Scooby hid under the couch, "Revolta" gave an evil laugh and moved closer to the heroes.
"I am not Revolta…" Revolta said "have you Sonic Heroes forgotten who I am?"
"We don't even know who you are!" Vector said as Charmy and Espio hid behind his back, Revolta gave another wicked laugh and faced everyone.
"I am Mephiles… Mephiles the dark!" Mephiles said as he walked closer to Sonic and stared him dead in the eye, Sonic felt his blood go cold and his mind frozen at the sight of this ghastly being, but what was disturbing about… Was that Sonic swore he heard that name before, Mobiles turned away from Sonic and then disappeared in a ball of dark matter, no one said a word as the ball disappeared until Winnie broke the silence.
"I think I just wet myself" she said.
"Sonic, who was that?" Tails asked.
"I don't know little buddy" Sonic replied "but we can worry about Revolta or whatever her name is later, we have bigger things to worry about right now".
"That's right, Metal Sonic and the chaos emeralds" Amy said.
"Well gang…." Fred began "looks like…"
"Please don't let be another mystery! Please don't let it be another mystery!" Shaggy prayed with Scooby, Sibella and Tug.
"Rease! Rease!" Scooby said.
"We got another mystery on our hands!" Fred said.
"This is more than just a mystery" Shadow said "this is the fate of the world, leave this to us and stay out of this".
"But Shadow, we need their help!" Silver said "if they solve mysteries, then they can help us find out who this Mephiles is and his control on Metal Sonic!"
"Yeah Shads, let them help us" Sonic said, Shadow took a glance over at the Mystery Inc. Gang and sighed angrily.
"Fine, but I won't like this" Shadow said as he crossed his arms.
"We're coming too" Sibella said with Elsa, Phantasm, Winnie and Tanis, Goonie, Zina and Mary by her side.
"As are we" Tug said "me and the cadets need some excitement anyway".
"Like, no" Shaggy said "this is dangerous, like, I don't want any of you getting hurt".
"But coach! We can be a big help!" Phantasm said before giving off a loud giggle.
"I really don't like that ghost" Omega said "she makes my hard drive shiver".
"Like, okay then" Shaggy said "but like, we need to get one last thing before we like, save the world".
"What's that Mr. Shaggy?" Cream asked curiously.
"We need to get Scrappy" Shaggy said.
Beautiful Las Vegas was the city of gambling, women and of course, wealth, thousands people visit here every year and many will win money, many will lose money and maybe even their deeds! However, one group in particular were on their way to Las Vegas, the Mystery Machine made its way across the road with Fred driving the said vehicle with Daphne and Velma by his side and Shaggy, Scooby, Sibella, Elsa, Winnie, Phanty, Tanis, Tug, Grunt, Jamal, Miguel, Baxter, Cream, Blaze and Espio in the back. It was surprising how they all fit in the back, next to the Mystery Machine was Shadow skating on his rocket boots with Rouge, Omega and Silver flying above him and the vehicle, in the air was the tornado with its pilot Tails in the cockpit while Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, Vector, Charmy and Big hung onto the wings of the plane. Next to the tornado was Dr. Eggman in his egg-mobile as he drove it next to the tornado, Sonic and Eggman both glared at each other, knowing they hated working together with each other.
"Are we there yet?" Sonic asked.
"We should be arriving there in 2.6 minutes!" Tails said as he looked at the clock of the plane.
"Like, I had no clue Sonic and Tails, like, owned a plane!" Shaggy said.
"Reah!" Scooby said before laughing.
"It seems pretty cool your friends own a plane" Daphne said to Blaze.
"Yes, it does" Blaze said "Tails is quite the genius".
"Why do you say that?" Velma asked.
"Miles has made lots of helpful inventions!" Cream said "he helps out the most with Mr. Sonic almost every day!"
"It's impossible to keep those two apart" Espio said.
"Why?" Winnie asked.
"It's a long story about how they met" Espio said "and we don't have much time to explain how it happened, we are near to our destination".
"How do you know that?" Grunt asked.
"My ninja senses are telling me we are not far" Espio said "plus we just passed the sign" Grunt and Winnie both looked at each other with blank faces and shook their heads.
"Hey Shadow!" Fred said as he poked his head out the window, Shadow only glanced at Fred and gave his usual sound when he's focused "you having fun yet?"
"No" Shadow simply said before moving ahead of everyone until they all reached a parking lot, Fred parked the Mystery Machine in one of the lots while Tails landed the tornado next to it and Eggman parked the egg-mobile in a parking lot far from either of the vehicles, everyone turned to look at the casino they were suppose to be at and admired it with awe.
"Wow! This place is huge!" Vector said as everyone walked to the entrance.
"Yeah! But not as big as my deaddy's pyramid!" Tanis said, as everyone passed by the revolving door, Charmy couldn't help but go through it a couple of more times until Espio grabbed him.
"Remember everyone, we need to find Scrappy so we can start looking for the chaos emeralds and the energy we need to fix them" Fred said as the group walked down the aisles of slot machines and casino games, Vector and Rouge couldn't help but look at the many wonders of the casino and the urge to play was taking them over.
"Um… Yeah, you guys take care of that" Vector said.
"We'll be right back!" Rouge said as both ran to the nearest slot machine and began playing.
"Typical Rouge and Vector" Amy said as she crossed her arms and rolled her eyes "going to bet on something when they see the first gambling game!"
"We can get them later, we need to find Scrappy first!" Elsa said as she grabbed Sibella's and Winnie's hands and led them down the casino "come on Scooby!"
"Like, lead the way!" Shaggy said, Scooby smiled and gave a salute before dropping his nose to the ground and sniffed it and walked along the way with Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma following him, Sonic and Tails began to follow the small group.
"So Shaggy, who's Scrappy?" Sonic asked.
"Like, he's Scooby's nephew" Shaggy said as he scratched his chin "man those were the good days when he was around, like, he was always energetic and ready to solve the mystery!"
"Sounds kind of like me" Sonic said "why'd he leave?"
"That's why!" Daphne said as she pointed to a sign, the seven saw a larger than life standee of Scrappy Door in the clothing of Elvis Presley and holding a microphone.
"Wow, the little guy has come a long way!" Fred said.
"And a one for the money and two to find the mutt!" Eggman said as he passed by them and into the stage area.
"Hey! That's Scooby's nephew you're talking about!" Velma said, Eggman turned back to face her and made a scowled face at her.
"Do I look like I care?" Eggman asked as he turned away and walked on.
"Why did he agree to come and help us again?" Daphne asked.
"Like, maybe it was for the free buffet!" Shaggy said as he and Scooby eyed the large buffet hungrily and ran over to it, both grabbed their plates and created mountains of food on them.
"Hey look! There's Scrappy!" Elsa said as she pointed at something, everyone in the group turned their attention to her remark to see a small dog similar to Scooby wearing a red silk robe with sunglasses on his eyes and an Elvis-styled wig on his head, all around him was photographers and people wanting his autograph.
"I got this!" Sonic said as he walked over to the massive group of people.
"Oh no" Tails said as he slapped his forehead, Sonic carefully walked over to the sea of people and stood behind them, he cleared his throat and grabbed some of that stuff you squirt into your mouth for your throat and coughed before shouting-
"There's free kittens in the parking lot!" he shouted, that was more than enough to get everyone going, in a matter of seconds, everyone in the casino left and ran into the parking lot to get "free kittens".
"Hey! Where's everyone going?" Scrappy asked.
"To get free kittens!" Charmy said as he prepared to get his free kitten but Espio grabbed his arm.
"There are no free kittens Charmy" Espio said.
"Oh yeah" Charmy said in disappointment.
"Like, Scrappy!" Shaggy said as he and Scooby walked to him.
"Shaggy! Uncle Scooby!" Scrappy said as he excitedly ran over to them.
"Scrappy!" the Grim Wood girls said as they ran over to him.
"Girls! Good to see all ya!" Scrappy said as he jumped up and hugged his uncle with the girls and Shaggy joining in.
"Well this is just sick" Eggman mumbled under his breath.
"What are you doing here?" Scrappy asked.
"It's a long story" Sibella said.
In Revolta's castle, Mephiles watched the reunion of the heroes from the crystal ball Revolta used when she was alive, his anger boiled up inside him and he walked away to an old room filled with books and alchemy equipment, he walked up to a bookshelf containing a row of spell books and pulled out the one he wanted.
"Yes… Yes, this will do just nicely" he said as he skipped a few pages to his selected one…
