Hello. It's been a really long time, right? I'm always sorry... this time, however, I can finally announce I finished everything, whole Letters.
Yes, that's right. Next chapter is last and I'll post it tomorrow, I promise. I hope you'll enjoy the story till the end :)
In this chapter, Renji finally loses it.
Read, enjoy and review :)
Dear Rukia,
I already spread the news about Cifer and Inoue. If only you could have seen Inoue's face when we all visited her to congratulate her! She was so shy and kept hiding her face, but we could see she was really happy. Actually, we were excited too – Arisawa hugged Inoue so tightly I thought she'd strangle her, and even Ichigo had a hard time suppressing a smile.
We really need to arrange a meeting between her and Cifer. They deserve it.
As for Ikkaku and Mizuho, maybe you're right. I mean, he's put up with her for so long… and it's not like he hates her or something, so they actually may stand a chance.
But who I wanted to write about is Nel, who, as it turned out, wanted to meet not Ichigo, but someone else.
One evening, I and Ichigo were going back after visiting Nel. We didn't achieve anything again and were pretty resigned, dragging our feet along the streets of Karakura, not even in mood to talk. It was already getting dark when we were passing the Onose river.
Suddenly, a ray of light appeared, so bright it blinded us, and then disappeared just as quickly. Everything around us became dark again, and before our eyes could get used to those sudden changes, something incredibly heavy tackled us to the ground.
"You two! How much did you see?"
"Answer right away, or we'll make you!"
Although, crushed, I couldn't hear the attackers clearly, I recognized their voices immediately and sighed, because their owners were as stupid as I remembered them to be. Ichigo must have recognized them as well, and the next thing I heard was him shouting, "Take this worm away from me!"
"It's not a worm, but Bawa-Bawa," was the reply, and I was already sure.
So when I and Ichigo succeeded in getting halfway from under Bawa-Bawa, it came as no surprise that we saw Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka towering above us.
"And I'm not an enemy but Kurosaki Ichigo."
The two Arrancars squatted down and looked us in the eyes.
"And I am Aizen Sosuke," Pesche said. "Find a better lie, human."
"You two," Dondochakka pointed us with two fingers, "saw us entering this world, and regular people shouldn't see such things. We have to silence you in one way or another."
I rolled my eyes.
"Do you even hear yourself?" I asked. I really started to feel the weight of Bawa-Bawa on my bottom half. "He just said Kurosaki Ichigo. We're not regular humans, idiots."
"Did you just insult me?!" Pesche, this fool, felt offended.
Neither me nor Ichigo commented.
Dondochakka scratched his head.
"Maybe they know Ichigo…?"
Pesche glanced at his friend and then both of them stared at Ichigo, long and carefully. They hummed, Ichigo scowled and the thin Arrancar narrowed his eyes.
"You know, it may actually be Kurosaki Ichigo…"
"Right?! Right?!" I exclaimed before I could stop myself, happy they finally started to grasp the situation. "It's totally Ichigo, so can you free us now?"
The hollows rapidly turned to me. Dondochakka looked me in the eye.
"This one, I don't remember."
And he had called himself my companion. I don't need anyone like that, thank you very much.
After what felt like hours of explaining, the two finally understood who we were and cheerfully announced they were really lucky because they were actually looking for us. We were not as cheerful, all sore after being trapped under their pet worm for what seemed like forever.
"We need to find Nel-sama," they told us, "she left Hueco Mundo without us, while our duty is to protect her."
So, as fast as we could, we left the two morons and Bawa-Bawa at Sado's, and, not sparing them a second glance, went our ways.
The next day, I and Ichigo visited Sado again, only to find out that after an exciting game of tag Nel and her companions happily left for Rukongai, thanking Sado and all of us from Karakura for everything we'd done.
As you can see, Nel didn't need Ichigo but someone else, haha. Now I kind of wish I hadn't left right away that evening. I think I may even miss her a bit, till you Seireitei people find her.
We're already looking for any other Arrancar that could have come to Karakura.
However! News about Nel is nothing compared to what I'm going to write about now!
Soon you'll all see what a genius Abarai Renji is! New shinigami will be learning about me in the Academy and I'll change the world around us forever. And you'll understand, Rukia, finally you'll understand how great I am…
But let's start from the beginning.
My time as Ishida's master was nearing its end, and I still had in mind how much of help he was in solving my problems with Yuzu and Midoriko. And I thought to myself, I can make him do anything I want. Anything.
One day, I came up with an idea.
One that would make me a hero of Soul Society.
I gathered everyone (Kurosaki, Sado, Inoue, Ishida, Arisawa, Keigo, his short friend and whole Shoten staff) in front of Urahara's shop. I told Ishida to dress nicely and appeared in my shinigami form myself. Everyone was looking at us with curiosity and after a while I cleared my throat.
"I gathered all of you today," I said, "to take part in a sublime event."
I noticed that Ishida glanced at me suspiciously, but the rest seemed genuinely interested. I continued.
"Today," a nice, dramatic pause, "we'll change the world."
Urahara snorted, but I ignored him. Yoruichi's smirk as well.
"Archer, step forward." Ishida did, his self-designed quincy robe fluttering around him. I put my hand on his shoulder. "As we all know, relations between shinigami and quincy are not the best. This situation has been going on for way too long, and are we really happy with the way the things are now? Don't we all, deep in our hearts, secretly wish for this situation to change? I bet you all do! And you know what?"
I threw my hands in the air, now almost shouting. All eyes were on me.
"I'll change it today!" I turned to Ishida with my arms wide open in an inviting way. "Archer! Come! I grant you the most important role in the history of your family!" Ishida took a step back, not sure about the direction in which this was going. "You will go to Seireitei and offer peace between shinigami and quincy, one that will last, one that will bring us happiness! Go!"
"Are you crazy?!" Ishida stared at me in disbelief, and suddenly it was incredibly quiet around. I approached my servant, undeterred, patted his shoulder and whispered, "I asked Urahara earlier to prepare a Senkaimon, it's downstairs."
He only kept staring at me, along with the rest. I cleared my throat.
"I, Abarai Renji, command you to do it!"
After an unbearably long while, Ishida gritted his teeth and walked towards the Shoten, disappearing behind the door. I turned to my spectators, who seemed to be confused for some reason. Then Inoue started clapping, and the rest followed, creating a moderate applause. Why they were so reluctant, I don't know.
But they'll all see, because I just opened the door to a better, brighter future. Please, Rukia, write back quickly, I need to know how everything went.
Finally, I'll regain my pride, I'll go back to Soul Society.
Soon, we'll meet again, in the best of circumstances.
Till then, take care,
Renji
