Asami's POV

Equalists had taken Bolin. He'd only been left alone for a couple of minutes but apparently that had been all they needed. I watched as Mako ran a frustrated hand through his thick black hair. Korra was leaning against the doorway, sleepily rubbing her eyes as she watched the Firebender pace. I wanted to tell him that everything was going to be alright, but none of us knew for sure. Korra was the only one of the three of us who had come up against these masked men. And they had terrified her to the bone.

The Waterbender yawned, which caused Mako to pause and look at her. Suddenly, his whole body tensed and he clenched his jaw, his hands turned into fists at his side. "You!" he hissed, walking over to the brunette and stopping once he was almost in her face. "It's your fault they took him."

Korra blinked, her brain trying to play catch up. "Took him?" she asked, brow raised. "Who'd they take?"

"The Equalists took Bolin!" he spat. "And it's all your fault! If you hadn't left him alone-"

Korra's eyes narrowed. This wouldn't be good. "How is it my fault?" she yelled back, poking his chest with her finger. "Last time I checked, he was your brother!"

"You were supposed to be out here with him!"

"Oh, so you'd rather they take me instead? Is that what you're trying to say?"

"Enough!" I stepped between the two, pushing them apart as they continued to glare at each other. "This isn't going to get us anywhere," I snapped.

"He started it!" Korra stated childishly, gesturing to her teammate causing Mako to scowl.

"I don't care. We need to find Bolin, and we can't do that with both of you acting like idiots," I replied.

They both huffed, still frustrated and steaming as they looked away from each other. I sighed, shaking my head and praying to the Spirits for patience. There just wasn't any middle ground with these two. I was just about to say something else when my phone went off. I groaned, already knowing who it was. I checked the time, twelve o'three. Only three minutes passed curfew and he was already calling me.

"Asami!" I heard my father shout through the receiver before I could even greet him, causing me to wince. "Where are you?"

"Listen, Dad," I started. "There's been a situation. One of my friends is lost and I-"

"I don't care!" he snapped. "Let the police handle it. I want you home this instant!"

I looked over at Korra, who was watching me, a knowing glint in her eye. She knew exactly what my father was telling me to do. She knew my dad was basically telling me to abandon them while they went and searched for a mutual friend. And though Korra didn't say a word, I knew what she'd tell me to do, what she'd been telling me to do.

I shut my eyes, trying to brace myself, accepting the consequences of what I was about to do. "No." The word itself sounded like magic to me.

The line was silent for a long moment. "What?"

"I'm sorry, but I'm going to find my friend." And just like that, I hung up, not giving him a chance to reply and turned my phone off. I looked back over at Mako and Korra. The Firebender looked a little surprised but Korra just had her trademark smirk in place. I myself felt almost giddy.

"Let's go find Bo," I said, walking in the direction the tire tracks were heading. Mako took the lead and I felt Korra nudge me, smiling big at the fact I'd finally stood up to my father and I couldn't help but smile back.

I was going to be so grounded when I got home.

Korra's POV

Naga let out a whine as we approached the park. We had been literally searching for Bolin for hours and we were all completely exhausted. Sometime after Asami had pretty much told off her dad, something I was proud of, I had called my animal guide and other best friend to help us search for my Earthbending teammate, seeing as she was a great tracker and all. Mako had been quiet except for when we'd stopped by his old pick-pocketing place to talk to an old friend of his. Skoochy, the boy, had told us he'd seen a truck of Equalists pass by earlier and head towards the main park, but wasn't sure where it had gone exactly. He also said that a Triple Threat Triad member, Shady Shin, had been looking for him.

So after searching everywhere between there and the park, we'd finally arrived. My poor polar bear dog was barely able to even stand after carrying all three of us on her back. We approached a water fountain and I told everyone to hope off while Naga got something to drink, she happily did so. I rubbed her large head, telling her what a great job she had done while Asami and Mako went off to the side and talked.

My best friend placed a hand on his shoulder, probably trying to assure him everything would be alright but he gently pulled away, saying something in reply. I saw her sigh and my guess was that he had told her he needed some space, which was understandable if you asked me. Naga licked my face and I chuckled before leading her over and under a large tree where she collapsed. I sat down next to her, leaning against her as I called the pair over.

Mako sat in the middle, Asami and I to his sides and I couldn't help but feel incredibly awkward, considering that we all had this…love triangle going on. I wasn't sure if Mako was fully aware of it, but I knew Asami was. She'd made that much obvious.

My mind briefly went to the almost kiss and I had to quickly dismiss it. I didn't need to be thinking about that at the moment.

We talked a little and sometime later Asami nodded off, falling asleep against Naga's warm fur. My Firebending teammate and I remained quiet for a while, just looking around until I couldn't take the silence anymore.

"So," I began. "Why'd you make that face when Skoochy said Shady Shin had been looking for Bo?"

He looked at me for a long time before shaking his head. "And here I thought you weren't observant."

I scoffed at that. "That's my middle name," I muttered.

Mako sighed. "We sort of did some work for the Triads back in the day-"

"What?!" I yelled. Asami moved a little and my teammate sent me a glare, silently asking me to shut up. I waited till my best friend stilled, still trying to process what I had just heard. "Are you some kind of criminal?" I hissed after a moment.

"What?" he said, his jaw clenching slightly. "No! You don't even know what you're talking about!" He stopped there for a moment. "I only ran numbers for them. We were orphans on the streets. I did what I had to do to survive and protect my little brother," my teammate added, crossing his arms and looking away from me.

I lowered my gaze, bringing my legs up to my chest and biting my lip. "I'm sorry," I apologized. "It must have been really hard." Mako didn't say anything to this, just took in a deep breath. "Can I-can I ask what happened to your parents?"

Something in his demeanor changed, he just seemed tired after I mentioned his parents. "I haven't even told Asami that yet," he replied. I nodded my head, ready to turn away from him when he put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry, it's just…I really don't like talking about it."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

He could not say a word and I'd be okay with it. It really wasn't any of my business to begin with. I just wanted to understand my teammate, I wanted to help. Mako sighed and shook his head. "You're my teammate, and my friend," the Firebender answered. "And I want to tell you." He paused for a moment before a hand went to his scarf. "They were mugged, by a Firebender," he finally said. "He cut them down right in front of me. I was eight."

"Mako…"

"Bolin's the only family I have left," my teammate continued. "If anything happened to him…" He trailed off, and I knew that was a future he couldn't bear to imagine.

"Nothing's going to happen to him," I assured. "We'll find him. I promise."

He looked over at me, his amber gaze studying me for a moment. "You should probably get some sleep," Mako said closing his eyes. "At least for a little while."

I nodded my head and let out a yawn before turning on my side so that I was facing him. I was tired and the sun was barely coming up. I hadn't really slept all that much the night before and I could feel my eye lids droop, begging me to rest. It was only a few moments before I drifted off to sleep.

Mako's POV

I closed my eyes as the light began to get brighter, turning away in vain. With a sigh I opened them, blinking a few times before realizing that something warm was pressed against my shoulder. I raised a brow at this, looking down to find Korra, practically snuggled up to my side, her temple resting against my shoulder. I blinked before turning to see Asami, my girlfriend, still asleep on the other side of me, facing away. A voice kept telling me that I should wake my Waterbending teammate…but then there was another that didn't want to, and it didn't help that her mouth was forming a small pout, making me chuckle a little.

Korra stirred and yawned before freezing and slowly looking up at me. Our eyes made contact and she placed a hand over her mouth, as if terrified of just laying on my shoulder, as if she'd broken some sort of law. She scooted as fast and as far away from me as she could. I tilted my head to the side, confused while she shook her head and pointed behind me, to Asami. I nodded my head in understanding and she sighed, rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. My lips twitched a little at this, not missing the blush gathering on her cheeks. Who would have thought the all mighty Avatar could get embarrassed?

Though, I had to wonder what was going on between us. First the almost kiss and now her using me as a pillow... I had a funny feeling in my gut.

The sound of movement snapped me out of my reverie and I turned to see Asami had sat up next to me, stretching her arms in front of her with a yawn. "Hey guys," she greeted with a smile before frowning. "You alright over there, Korra?" She must've noticed the blush.

"I-uh," my Waterbending teammate fumbled.

"She was just stretching," I answered for her, trying to contain my laughter.

My girlfriend frowned again, looking from Korra to myself before shrugging and standing up. Korra let out a sigh of relief and stood as well, dusting her pants before a loud voice shifted our attention away from our present…predicament.

"People of Republic City!" a man yelled over megaphone a few feet from us as he handed out flyers. "Come and hear Amon's Revelation, tonight!"

"Hey, maybe that guy can tell us where they took Bolin," Korra pointed out. I nodded and we walked over to him, his brow rising suspiciously before narrowing.

"And who are you?"

"My name is Korra and I'm the Avatar," the Water Tribe girl began. "Our friend went missing and-"

"That is none of my business!" the man snapped. "You Benders have been oppressing us Nonbenders for too long and your friend is getting what's coming to him!"

"What are you talking about?" I asked, some steam coming off me by this point.

"Benders aren't oppressing anyone," Asami added.

"Oh yeah? Well what about those Triads that keep asking for 'protection money'?"

"They're gangs," Korra explained. There was gangs no matter where you went, in both Nonbending communities and Bending, it was unavoidable really. When the man scoffed, her eyes narrowed dangerously and I knew she had run out of patience. She slammed her foot down, sending the table and all the flyers on it into the air before grabbing him by the collar. "You're going to tell us what this revelation is and where Bolin is!" she growled.

"No one knows what the Revelation is!" the man answered, sounding a bit frightened. "And I don't know what happened to your friend."

"Hey what's going on over there?" a security guard asked.

"The Avatar is oppressing us!"

Korra huffed in annoyance before dropping him on his rear and whistling for Naga. I picked up a few flyers and ran after her and Asami who were already seated on the polar bear dog. Maybe the flyers would be of some use.

Korra's POV

I was becoming increasingly frustrated. After we'd been chased off, we'd gone back toward the apartment, and now we were sitting outside on a bench. We had been looking at these stupid flyers, searching for any kind of clue about this 'Revelation' that we could find, for what felt like hours. I had been staring at this damn piece of paper for eternity and had come up with nothing. And I just couldn't take it anymore. The flyer in my hand was quickly reduced to cinders as I stood up. I'd had enough of waiting around. We were still no closer to finder Bo, and we needed to find him. Now. Before…

"Hey!" Asami called, standing up with me from her seat on the bench. "What was that about?"

"We're wasting time with this! Instead of looking for 'clues' like Mr. Detective here wants," I began, my aggravation apparent. "We should start trying to do something productive to find Bolin!"

"Like it or not, Korra, this is all we have to go on!" Mako snapped. "They were giving these flyers out for a reason! The information we need to find Bo has to be somewhere on them!"

I shook my head. These two didn't understand how grave this was. We had to find Bo before Amon… I shuddered. "Mako, do you honestly think they are just going to draw a freakin map on the back?"

Mako held my gaze for a moment before something sparked in his eyes, and he turned his attention back to the flyers. I raised a brow, wondering what in the name of the Spirits he was doing. He started to stack and separate the flyers into four different piles before grabbing one from each and putting them together. It was almost like a-

"It's a puzzle," I said, kneeling down next to him.

He nodded. "It's a map of the city," he replied, glancing over at me before using the map on the stand as a reference. "There," he exclaimed, pointing to the spot the flyers indicated. "There's a bunch of old warehouses in that district. That's where we'll find Bo."

I nodded. "Then what are we waiting for?"

"He's probably not there yet," Asami pointed out. "The flyer says the 'Revelation' starts at eleven. We go now, and we've lost him." Good old Asami. Always the voice of reason. The heiress looked over at me. "I know you don't want to talk about it, but you've faced Amon before. Is there anything we should know?"

I shifted uncomfortably, looking down at my feet. My mind flashed back to that night, the night Amon had me at his mercy. He could've killed me… or taken my Bending. What kind of Avatar would I have been remembered as if that had happened? I never wanted to be in that position again. I didn't want to face him again…not yet.

"He's… He's always one step ahead," I finally answered, forcing myself to look up. "We need to come up with a good distraction."

"Hmmm," Asami hummed before turning to go back over to her car.

"Korra?" Mako called, walking over to me. I looked up at him, seeing concern in his amber eyes. "Are you okay?"

I nodded once, trying to smile convincingly. "I'm fine. I just want to save Bo."

"Do you think these will do?" my best friend asked, showing us a pair of small devices.

"What are those?"

"Remote control bombs," she replied. "My dad supplies the military with them for training exercises. They sound like the real thing but don't really cause any kind of damage."

I raised a brow. Something didn't feel right about this, there was a nagging feeling in the back of my mind. "And he just keeps them in the truck of his car?"

Asami frowned, before half heartedly shrugging. "He probably wanted to test them out."

"So we'd have to go in beforehand and plant them," I stated. "That way, by the time Amon gets there, we'd be ready."

"Actually, I was thinking you could plant them as soon as Mako and I are inside," she replied.

I tilted my head in question. "And why can't I go?"

"Your picture is all over the papers," the raven haired girl reasoned. "They'd be able to spot you in a heartbeat."

"And they won't recognize the daughter of the city's richest man?"

"It doesn't matter who plants them," Mako interrupted, stepping between us. "Let's just get this over with. We need to get Bo out of there."

I held back the growl of irritation that threatened to come out, folding my arms in front of me indignantly. "Fine."

Mako's POV

I watched Korra let out a yawn before leaning against Naga. Her parents had called her earlier that day, asking where she was and when she was getting home. My teammate had lied and said she was at Asami's house and would be back the next day. Asami placed her hand against my cheek, causing me turn to my gaze away from the Waterbender to her. I sighed and shook my head, placing a hand over hers before getting up, taking out the bag of clothes we had picked up from Toza's, taking out three coats and a pair of hats.

"Hey, is everything alright?" my girlfriend asked.

I sighed again. "Yeah, I just-I want to focus on getting my brother right now."

"I see," she answered quietly.

"Asami," I called after her managing a smile. "Thank for being here. Without you and Korra…I don't know what I would have done."

"Wha-?" my teammate said, sitting up, sleepily rubbing her eyes. I chuckled at this, shaking my head, causing her to send me a half hearted glare. "I heard my name."

"It's almost time," I said, handing her a hooded coat. "That should cover you enough to go around the building and plant these," I added, handing her the bag of explosives.

"Yeah, yeah," she muttered, putting the coat on one sleeve at a time.

"And take this," I added, unraveling my scarf. "It'll help hide your face."

Asami and I put on our coats before getting into her Satomobile and driving it to a hidden spot by the warehouses, getting off to go on foot as Korra rode Naga in the opposite direction. As we approached the place, the heiress clung to my arm. I stiffened a little before relaxing, approaching the place where the 'big Revelation' would take place. We stopped at the door where a large man platypus-bear of a man stood, arms across his chest, brow raised.

"This is a private event. No one gets in without an invitation."

I nodded and pulled out one of the flyers from my pocket, showing it to him. The man chuckled and stepped aside, letting us pass. Asami and I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief at this. Well that was easier than expected. My eyes widened, however, when we went inside and saw that the whole warehouse was practically filled with Nonbenders.

"I knew a lot people didn't like Benders," Asami muttered. "But I've never seen so many people in one place."

I scanned the crowd and the stage, seeing no one there before gently nudging her forward towards the crowd. "Keep your eyes out for Bolin," I whispered.

We were just getting to the front of the crowd when the lights on stage suddenly turned on and an announcer began to speak. "Please welcome our hero, our savior…Amon!"

My jaw clenched as I saw the masked revolutionist go on the stage, looking as if he didn't have a care in the world. Like he hadn't murdered and crippled dozens. I wouldn't let him hurt my little brother. That was a fact.

"Welcome brothers and sisters," Amon greeted. "As you all know, the people of Republic City have been talking about recent events that have involved myself with Benders who take advantage of others." He paused for a moment. "Some, if not all of you have heard the rumors and are skeptical of my abilities. And today I'm going to put those rumors to a rest."

"Bring in the prisoners!" a goggled man yelled.

I watched as one by one, men from the triads came on stage before I spotted who we were looking for. Bolin. I made a move to go on stage before I remembered that I had to wait for the signal, for the bombs to go off. The first, a Firebender, came forward, trying to fight his way out only to have Amon come behind him, grab his neck and place a thumb over his forehead, causing him to let out a pain filled scream before falling to the floor, the next one being untied.

My jaw clenched. What was taking Korra so long?

As if she had heard my thoughts, a series of explosions went off, causing the people around us to scream and panic. I pulled Asami close to the stage before hopping on, using my Firebending to clear the way to my brother.

"Mako!" Bolin said with a smile. "You found me!" he added, hugging me.

"Hugs later, Bo," I said, grabbing him.

Chi Blockers started to surround us and I stood in front of my girlfriend and brother in a protective stance. One of them took a step forward and I launched a fire attack at them before a whistle brought my attention to the roof and I saw a rope had been lowered.

"Go!" I yelled, sending a series of Firebending punches. "I'll be right behind you."

Once I made sure they were safe I sent one final attack before climbing up the rope myself. I was halfway there when I felt the weight of the rope grow and looked down to see a masked Chi Blocker following me up. I tried sending a fire attack their way, but they simply dodged and I started to climb up faster.

Korra held out her hand and I took it before she let go of the rope, causing the Chi Blockers to land on the floor. Hard. She pulled me up and I looked down to see the groaning figure try to sit up.

"And to think that could have been you," she said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes. "Come on, Naga is waiting for us." And then we were gone.

Okay well sorry for the long wait again guys. And I know you were probably expecting something grander from us. But we decided we'd mix it up a bit. Also, we will not be doing every episode verbatim. You all have seen the show you know what happens on it and plus this is supposed to be a parody of Beaches with an LOK twist. So there will be plenty of different situations...even after the Amon threat is handled. We hope you'll enjoy.

As always, thank maila for the work she does. I'm a bit of a slave driver so thank her for putting up with me for so long and for trying her best to help give you such good stories.

We out! Peace!
