Dear Korra,
I'm sorry I haven't been able to write sooner, but I've just been swamped. It looks like the company may actually pull through. I've been talking to the Earth Queen, who's...well...she's a royal bitch if I'm being completely honest. But she's the one buying from me so I'm willing to put up with it. Ba Sing Se is a beautiful city, there's so much to see. The gardens at the palace are stunning with all the different kinds of roses and lilies. I even got some pictures.
Also, I thought I'd let you know that I've been seeing someone. He's a little rough around the edges but he treats me well. He's a Waterbender like you and he Pro-Bends in the big leagues. Right now we see each other only when out busy schedules allow.
Hope everything is all right with you.
P.S. I miss you.
Asami
To Asami,
I'm glad to hear you're having fun in the Earth Kingdom and that you've found someone. Best tell him that I'll pummel him if he hurts you. Hopefully you can get Future Industries back on track soon and then come back to the city. I've been traveling a lot myself. I've been promoting your company and giving big corporations you information, I hope they've actually taken my advice and contacted you.
Anyways, like I said before, I've been traveling too. I've been to the Fire Nation, the Northern Tribe and some smaller cities in the Earth Kingdom. Not Ba Sing Se obviously or else we would've visited. Mako's been traveling with me, more of a nanny than a boyfriend at times. I swear, fall and sprain your ankle one time...
Mom and Dad send their love as well.
P.S. The pictures were great. Hope you get mine of our travels. Oh, and miss you too.

*Five years later*
Dear Korra,
I don't know how to say this but...I'm getting married! I know I should probably have called or told you this in person but it's still so hectic even with the company heading in the right direction. I know you worry because you haven't had a chance to meet him but, the thing is...you have. Just promise me you won't burn the rest of this letter when I tell you, okay? I'm marrying Tahno, of the Wolfbats. I know. I know you don't like him and right now you're probably thinking about how stupid I am but I...I just fell in love with him. He isn't really all that bad. You and Mako are even invited to the wedding, along with your parents.
I'm sending an official invite and a picture of the wedding dress. Tell me what you think. Hope you can make it.
P.S. Please don't be upset.
Asami
Hey Asami,
Just so you know, I've had to rewrite this letter a few times. Tahno, really? Of all the people in this world you chose him? Insert long drawn out sigh here. But I understand that there's not much I can do about it now that you're actually marrying him. But you better tell him that I will burn that stupid hair off his stupid head if he doesn't treat you right. Sorry. Sorry. He's your fiance, I know.
I've been trying to find a replacement so that I can make it to your wedding but so far I haven't had any luck. I'm so sorry. The ProBending schedule is so nuts, but you probably all ready know that seeing as you're...yeah...
Anyway, I do have some exciting news of my own. Mako proposed to me! With a ring and a betrothal necklace. (I suspect my dad had something to do with that) I'll send you an invitation as soon as we nail down a day. Enjoy your wedding and I will still be trying to make it. Send more pictures.
P.S. The dress was beautiful.
P.S.S. I'm really sorry I might not make it.
Korra
Dear Korra,
The wedding wasn't the same without your presence, but I understand that the show must go on. Plus, a lot of the money you make goes to charity anyway so. It was a small, yet lovely ceremony, seeing as I didn't have many people I'd want to invite. A majority of the guests were Tahno's ProBending buddies, and he spent a lot of time talking to them. I loved your gift, by the way! The frame was magnificent. Did you make it? I still have the bracelet you made me five years ago. It worked as my something old and something blue. It amazes me how time flies.
I'm sorry to say that I, myself, won't be able to make it to your wedding. My husband has his own match that day and couldn't switch. Not to mention business with the Fire Lord is taking longer than expected. I really am happy for you and Mako, I know how crazy you guys are about each other and it's about time you tied the knot. Be sure to give my love to your parents and give Naga a treat for me.
P.S. The pictures you sent were stunning. You look so...happy. Send pictures.
Asami
To Asami,
I'm sad that you couldn't make it. The South Pole was so beautiful, with lanterns and the southern lights. There was so many people! Mom and Pema may have went overboard with all the planning. Even the Sky Bison were there and everyone from Air Temple Island. And don't even get me started on Mako's extended family. Bo was on a trip to Ba Sing Se and he got in a fight with this guy who turned out to be his cousin. Crazy, right? What are the odds?
Their family is so HUGE! There was like thirty of them at the wedding! Bei Fong came too, trying to keep the peace and keeping her distance. She's such a control freak sometimes, but I'm glad she could make it. We moved into the city after our honeymoon, which was great, watched the Southern Lights, went penguin sledding and had so much fun.
We moved into an apartment in the city. It's close to the Arena. Mako likes to train all the newbies and he gets paid pretty well. I'm stuck in council meetings most of the day. But, you know, I'm home when I'm with him. I'm just...really happy. Hope you and Tahno are doing well.
P.S. Are we ever going to see each other again?
Korra
Okay so there's the second set of letters. The reason it's letters instead of texting or email is really just for their own sense of nostalgia, as Asami hinted at last chapter. Plus, it's an interesting way to get through some interesting plot points without taking up time.
Hope you're still enjoying the story. Read and review.
We out! Peace!
