A/N: Sorry for taking FOREVER to update. I hope you guys like it, I will try and write another chapter tomorrow if I'm able to!

Looking forward Korra knew there was no going back. She set the bowl down on the table and looked behind her, she knew he followed her and the noise in the room dissipated. She didn't know what to do next, they already knew who he was, but should she introduce him anyway?

She looked at Tenzin, but before she could speak Jinora's soft-spoken voice broke the silence. The young girl had looked up from her book and looked at the masked man before her, "Hello Amon." Her words were calm, without any fear or anger, "I'm Jinora, and these are my brother and sister, Ikki, and Meelo." Her hand motioned to each one as she spoke.

Korra looked at the girl in awe, she didn't know what to say, she hadn't expected the children to talk to him, nor did she expect such respect from them. Her mouth slightly gapped as she placed Rohan in a nearby bassinet. A small chuckle was heard from behind the mask as he cocked his head to the side, "Hello Jinora, it is a pleasure to meet you." His deep voice lacked its former menace. The children had only heard the hard, strong spoken man on the radio before.

Ikki immediately smiled and moved closer to him a barrage of questioned pelting him, "Why do you wear a mask? Is your face really scarred? Do you make babies cry? Are you going to make Rohan cry? Are you still trying to hurt people? Did you want to hurt us? Are you going to hurt Korra's baby?"

The questions continued as Amon watched her, answering each question after she asked them. "Because I do, No, No, No, No, I did I do not now, No…" He only stopped answering to look at the boy next to him, Amon had moved into a sitting position at the table, and Meelo had moved to be next to him, his posture almost identical to the older man's. "Hello Meelo," Amon said softly, his eyes moving from the younger boy to his father. Tenzin had been tense the moment Amon had stepped in, as he listened to Amon answering his questions he relaxed. He watched Meelo mimic the older man and raised a brow. Nodding to the other man silently, his own way of giving a subtle approval from his family.

Korra watched the action unfold. She hadn't expected such a welcome from the children, but as the minutes passed before Pema joined them, Korra relaxed and knew that inviting him had been a good idea for her, for her family. Ikki continued her questions as Amon answered them quietly, she learned things she hadn't even thought of asking him, what gender he wanted for their child: girl, where they would live: on the waterfront near the island, did he have money: yes, would he buy ikki a car: no. Although some questions were foolish Korra couldn't help but smile as their meal started.

The meal passed quickly, Korra hadn't expected to enjoy Amon near her makeshift family, but they seemed to like him, although Pema was cautious. As dinner finished he helped bring the plates to the kitchen, allowing Pema to sit with her family for a while. Katara had been silent most of the night and moved to help him.

He couldn't help but enjoy their family, he had been worried that he wouldn't be welcomed by the family. He knew he had treated them horrible at times, and started a revolution against them. And although he got Korra pregnant, although he had been against their kind, they didn't hate him, they didn't exclude him, he didn't know if he should be grateful or relieved, even though he felt both. He quickly gathered the dishes and moved to the kitchen. Katara following him with a few stray items. As he turned on the faucet he looked to the elder and raised an unseen brow, "It is an honor to meet you Sifu Katara."

Katara chuckled and nodded, "It is nice to meet you too Amon." She started putting away salt shakers, as well as other sauces that would be saved for another meal. She turned to him as he pulled his sleeves back moving to start the dishes, "You are a guest here, there is no need to do the dishes." Her arm moving out to stop him from proceeding.

He shook his head and laughed softly, "You know as well as I, that I might as well become used to being here. Korra is young, stubborn, and will not move in with me quickly. And I won't be absent from her, and my child's life. He grabbed a dish and looked at the older woman with amused eyed.

Katara chuckled and nodded, "You are right…" Her tone becoming serious, "I hope you plan on treating her right."

Amon stopped what he was doing and sighed, "I might be the heartless former anti-bending leader, but I will never hurt her. I might have hated her, I might have wanted her and her linage gone, but she is the mother of my child." He paused and shook his head, "She is more than that…" He looked down as he searched for the words he was looking for, "She is like a spirit, who showed me my hatred… I would never hurt her."

Katara nodded and smiled at him, "I'm glad. She is tough as nails, but you and I both know, she is going to need a lot of help with this child coming into the world."

Amon nodded and chuckled, "I will be with her along the way, no matter what."
