I have changed some of the ages, because I kept getting really confused and it will be easier if I make it more suited for my story.
Basically, Jared and Kim who are 18 are in their senior year to make the story easier but I'm having them graduate soon, so. Seth, Brady, Collin and Madison are obviously all in the same year and are all 16. Jacob, Quil and Embry are all in their junior year. (Btw, I'm not American so if I got the ages wrong I apologise). For this, I have decided that Paul has already left school and is something like 20.
Hello, mysterious person I keep talking to in my head whilst describing my every action – I like to imagine that I am either in a movie and doing a voice over or narrating a book.
Let me get you up to speed. Previously in my life, I have decided to annoy my brother and his wolf friends. I have formed a club called SOAP; Society of Awesome People to help me annoy these wolves and have a list of things I must do to annoy them.
Anyway, after Embry made me get off his roof and started shouting about never taking me and Seth to McDonalds ever again, Seth pointed out that they were showing The Fault in Our Stars at our local movie theatre (now, don't get me wrong, I knew that the film had been released. I am a big fan of John Green, so obviously I was counting down the days for the film of my favourite book to be released. I just didn't think it would be shown here and that I would have to go to another town. However, I was mistaken.)
So, after quickly scoffing up our McDonalds, Seth and I decided to and watch The Fault in Our Stars. Let me tell you now, it ended with Seth having to drag me out of the cinema because I was lying on the floor crying. Then he called my mom to pick us up. Overall, I enjoyed it, which I knew I would because I have read the book so many times.
That brings me to now.
"But, Mom," I said, dragging out the 'mom' part. "I don't think I can go to school. I am in post The Fault in Our Stars depression."
"That's not a thing now get your school back."
"It is too!" I quickly insisted, "I really need a heartache day. Can't I just stay at home and watch Scrubs re-runs?"
"Bag. Car. Now."
"Heartache. Day. Scrubs. Dave Franco."
"Madison, we've been through this, heartache days aren't a thing."
"You'd do the same if you'd gone to see The Fault—"
"Madi, that film is not the only one about cancer. I am sure it is like all the others now get in the car!"
I gasped. "Excuuuuse me! Do I have to explain The Fault in Our Stars to you? It is not like all the others. That's like saying Scrubs is like a real-life hospital."
No answer.
"I'm not moving until Jared's going."
"He's already left."
Plan fail. I was hoping he would be running late as usual so I could run away when my mom wasn't looking.
"Oh, look!" My mom said, pointing out of the window, "There's Brady, you can walk with him!"
"Mom, I don't want to—" But before I could finish my sentence, my mom was ushering me out of the door.
"Have fun and don't make anyone cry!"
How dare she.
I do not make people cry.
Well, not every day.
"Hey, Madison!" Brady said excitedly, somewhat jumping over to me. He was way to hyper for 7:30AM. He was holding a bag of doughnuts in his hand and walking along eating them.
"Brady, could you hold my bag for a second?" I asked, holding it out toward him.
"Sure," he said and took the bag.
"Thanks!" I simply said before skipping off.
.
It was safe to say that school on the reservation probably wasn't as fun as somewhere like Forks. For a start, it was not very big and did not have enough text books for everyone. The lockers in the hallway – in my opinion – took up too much space, the classrooms were quite small and cramped and the worse, there were leaks. There were loads of holes in the ceilings and the principal doesn't seem to want to get them fixed, so when it rains people are walking around in raincoats and using umbrellas indoors.
Math class was the worst – especially on a Monday morning. My main friends that I hung around with was my friend Amy and her boyfriend Eric who is totally hot but whatever. Sometimes Seth would hang around with us.
Then there was Mia. Forget about the others, she is my best friend. We first met in kindergarten; we were the quiet too that met in the sand pit. It all started when I threw sand in her face then she threw paint at me. For some strange reason, that was the thing that made us best friends. We still our now. We have basically grown up together. She's the Isaac to my Augustus. Oh, she's also Kim's younger sister so we can gossip about Kim and Jared and then wind them up.
"Hey, Madi..." I heard Seth whisper but ignored him as I focused on reading Paper Towns instead of doing my work. "Madi... Madi... Madison... Madison!" He almost shouted whilst hitting me with a ruler.
"What the even heck!?"
There was a long pause.
"...Hi!"
"Shut up."
"Do you get this work?"
"Do I look like I'm even doing the work?"
"Good point."
A pause.
"What'cha reading?"
I ignored him so he tilted his head to see the cover. "Paper Towns by John Green? That name rings a bell."
It should considering you saw a movie based off of one of his books last night, moron.
"Oh, I know who he is now, he wrote—"
"Madison Cameron!" I suddenly jumped when I heard the bellowing of our pain in the ass teacher behind us, also known as Mrs Milton. "Do you have a reason for not doing your work?"
"Technically, I'm not doing anything wrong," I pointed out. "There's nothing in the rules about not being able to read a book in class."
"Put it away."
"Seth isn't doing his work either."
"Do I have to ask you again?"
"I'm not putting my book away until you show me a rule where it says that I'm not allowed to read a book."
"Madison, what do you want to get out of life?"
Where the hell is this going? Oh my God. She's going to start some embarrassing speech in front of the class.
"Um..."
"Let me tell you something—"
Shit. No.
"Let me tell you something," I quickly interrupted. "I... Um... Basically, Seth who is, um, my secret boyfriend was talking to me about his sexuality struggle. May we be excused to see the guidance counsellor?"
Mrs Milton immediately dismissed us both after getting all flustered and awkward. I walked out with a grin on my face whilst Seth walked out complaining because everyone thought he was gay.
"I didn't say it that loud," I pointed out. "What should SOAP do today, Officer Cheeky Butt?" I asked, pulling out my list. "Talk about dinosaurs? Tell Jacob that Edward is sexy? Bad mouth about Bella in front of Jacob? Put Brady on a leash and call him 'puppy'?"
"But we have school. We have four more classes, remember?" Seth dumbly asked.
"Seth... In four days it will be the holidays. I see no wrong in missing a day... Or two."
"My mom—"
"Won't know a thing. I'll blackmail the boys. Now, what excuse shall we use to get Collin and Brady out of class?"
"Um..." Seth took a very long pause, "Maybe we should just leave them."
"What the even heck? We need them for our crew." I pointed out, hitting Seth around the head with my book. "Loser."
I tried getting the other two out of class but it didn't exactly work. Collin refused to go and Brady's teacher forced me to leave the class. His teacher also decided to e-mail the schools principle and say that me and Seth were skiving. So now we are sat in the principle's office.
"I knew we should have left them..." Seth muttered.
"Shut up! Do you want to get us into trouble? We'll go with our 'need to see the guidance counsellor' story."
"But—"
Before Seth could continue, our principle – Mr Wires – walked in, clearing his throat. "Miss Cameron, I can't say it's unusual to see you here." Okay; pause. I know that sounds like I'm a naughty little shit but really, I'm not. Teacher's misunderstand me most of the time. A lot of them actually send me out of class because I apparently annoy them and the other students. "However, Mr Clearwater, I've never had any problems with you. Has Madison lead you astray?"
Rude.
"Um, no..." Seth trailed off awkwardly, "Please don't call my mom! You only have to do that for Leah, I'm the good child."
I just shook my head at him. I mean, sure, I don't wanna get into trouble either but I'm not going to start begging for forgiveness.
"We weren't even doing anything wrong and if we were, it's not my fault, it's Madi's."
I crossed my arms, glaring at him.
"Also, she tried to get Collin and Brady involved but I wouldn't let her."
Silence.
Mr Wires looked at me, "Right... Now your side of the story?"
"Not many people know, but Seth's my boyfriend and this morning he decided to announce that he was gay. So we were only going to the guidance counsellor. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, right?" I asked innocently.
"You're a really bad liar but go back to class and I will forget about this."
Long story short, when you're trying to get out of class or school in general, don't let Seth join in because he will ruin things.
.
I am currently waiting in Jared's car.
School has now finished for the day and apparently we were all going down the beach. I don't get why I have to go. It's not like I'm one of them or one of the imprints. I'm just Jared's sister and with that, they all treat me like a little sister. I'm guessing that my mom was at work because I usually had the choice whether to go or not. It was only a few weeks ago that they had decided that I could be trusted in the house by myself.
I looked out the window for Jared and saw Mia. "Mia!" I screeched, opening the door.
"Hey, Chummy." Mia grinned as she ran over to me, using our childhood nickname for each other. "What you doing in Jared's car?"
"I have to go to First Beach for some lame reason," I rolled my eyes. "Wanna come? You can join SOAP!"
"What's—"
"Secret Organisation of Awesome People. It involves me, Seth, Collin and Brady winding up the whole pack."
I guess I should have mentioned before that she knows about werewolves after stumbling across Kim's diary. Fortunately, their younger brother Mason doesn't know. If he found out, he could tell all his friends at school.
"I don't know, I don't really know them enough to wind them up."
"Nonsense!" I insisted, moving over in the car, "And you can sleep over. Come on. My mom will probably even make brownies for us."
After saying that, Mia climbed in the car and set next to me. My mom makes pretty awesome brownies.
Jared didn't even question it when he saw Mia sat with me in the car; he was used to it by now. Apparently Kim would meet us there because she had some lame thing (which I don't even care about) to do.
We arrived at First Beach and me and Mia left Jared to run down to the others. I didn't understand why we were running though. We never run – if we are, then it's probably because a murder is chasing us or something.
"Why is Mia here?"
"Brady!" I screamed, "Don't be rude to my Chummy. She has joined SOAP because—Embry, you asshat! Stop staring!"
It was quiet for a moment.
"Has anyone seen Collin?" Brady asked, breaking the silence.
We all shrugged.
"He was in my music class but after that, I never saw him." Mia answered with a shrug.
"He's missing out," I said, pulling out my list. "I guess we could annoy Jared and... Ooh! How about we ask them to prove everything they say?"
"What if they say something that can't be proved?" Seth asked.
I rolled my eyes, "That's the point, silly."
"But I barely speak to them. This will make me look like a total bitch. They'll all hate me." Mia complained.
"Actually, Sam's pretty laid back. Paul's calmer now he's with Rachel, Jared can't exactly hate you since he's with your sister—" Brady begun to say.
"Quil jokes around a lot anyway," I added, "and Jacob and Leah aren't even part of Sam's pack. They're just here being friendly so we barely ever see them. We only see Seth because I make him come."
"Yeah, and we won't hate you." Brady finished, "Wait, what about Embry?"
Seth started randomly laughing (has someone given him coffee? Was it Paul? He does that a lot.) "Oh, I don't think Embry will be a problem."
I stared at him for a moment and he gave me a look that cleared things up for me. "Oh my God... You're shitting with me, right? Holy cow!" I didn't know whether to laugh or scream about the fact that Embry had just imprinted on my best friend. Well, possibly imprinted. Can I really trust Seth's judgement?
"What is it?" Mia asked, looking confused. She was so cute when she was confused.
"Nothing, Chummy." I reassured.
.
Once Collin finally arrived, we all went to join the rest of the boys and their imprints. I made sure that Mia was sat far away from Embry just to be safe.
"You're quiet, Mads."
"Shut up, Jared." I said with a frowned, nudging him. He nudged me back so I nudged him and... You get the idea. "Loser," I scoffed. "You have man boobs. I hope you realize that. They jiggle when you walk and—" I couldn't finish my sentence because I started laughing along with the others. After calming down and wiping a tear from my eye, I patted his back. "But seriously, when are your boobs going to fully develop?"
That's when I lost it again. I don't think I've laughed so much in one night. It may not sound that funny but the thought of his moobs jiggling when he walks is just... I can't even.
I gave SOAP 'the look', which told them to ask everyone to prove it once they said something.
"Madison, I don't—" Mia begun.
"Prove it!" Seth practically shouted.
"No! Seth! You don't do it to us!" I rolled my eyes. Is there any hope for that boy?
"Anyway, I don't really feel comfortable winding them up when I barely know them." Mia muttered, loud enough for me to hear.
Once again, I rolled my eyes. "Fine, then you can watch and laugh but I'm not going to ask my mom to make brownies."
"But—"
"Prove it!" Seth shouted. I was about to tell him off again before realising he was saying to to Sam.
"What do you mean, Seth? I don't—"
"Prove it." I interrupted.
"What's going on?" Quil asked somewhat nervously.
"Prove it." Brady said.
"Oh, no..." Jacob groaned.
"Prove it!" Collin shouted.
"Madi, are you annoying us again?" Paul asked.
"Prove it!" I said, crossing my arms stubbornly.
"She is."
"Prove it!"
"She always is."
"Prove it!"
"Will you four just shut the hell up!?"
"Prove it!" We all shouted at once whilst I added, "And Four is sexy!"
Divergent reference, by the way.
"Madi, I will ring mom and send you home if—"
"Prove it."
"Wait, Mia, are you staying for the night? What a stupid question, you always stay the night."
I was about to open my mouth when Mia answered for me, "Prove it."
YES. SHE WAS IN.
Paul glanced at me; both him and Rachel seemed pretty annoyed. It's not my fault that they chose to be here instead of staying at home having sex or whatever it is they do. "Mia, why don't you get to know Embry?" Paul asked, grinning at me.
I held my hand up to Mia, letting her know that I could handle this. "Paul, Mia doesn't need to get to know Embry because he is an annoying little cu—"
"Hey! I'm right here!"
"So why don't you just take a stick and shove it up your ass," I finished, ignoring Embry. "That's if it will fit because I know your head is pretty far up there."
Jacob seemed very amused by this; as did my Chummy and the rest of SOAP. Paul looked pretty titted off whereas everyone else was just hiding their sniggers.
"Well, this has been very successful." Quil said sarcastically.
"PROVE IT!" Seth practically shouted in his ears.
.
Jared was taking Kim home and driving Mia back so she could get her things. He left me with everyone else. But I got bored so I decided to throw stones at everyone.
"Madi, stop!"
I rolled my eyes at Paul, throwing another stone at him.
"Actually, Madi, now would be a great time to talk about Mia." Sam said, pointing over to the tree as an instruction to follow him. I rolled my eyes and slowly followed, trudging behind. "Embry, come on!"
With that, Embry was up and running to catch up with Sam. The loser.
"Now, as you may have noticed, Embry... He imprinted on your friend Mia." Sam begun, sounding all serious. I accidently started laughing.
"I know," I said as I glared at Embry. "I couldn't help but notice. Seriously, Embry, my best friend? You're such a loser sometimes. We've been best friends since kindergarten and you are not about to take her away from me. If you try anything, I will drown you. I hope you know that."
Embry just looked at me, shaking his head. "You're so annoying, Mads."
"Madison, you have to be serious about this, alright? No time for your childish games or little jokes – just be serious. You know how imprinting is. It can't be controlled. Embry is not going to steal Mia from you."
"You better not!" I said, pointing at him. "Also, don't even think that you'll be talking to her tonight, you got that? We're eating brownies and watching High School Musical. I might see if she thinks you're hot."
Embry didn't say anything.
"I might be more understanding if you wouldn't have shouted at me last night. I felt very victimized."
"You were messing around."
"I don't care! Here's a tip, I might be more supportive of your weird imprint on my bestie if you never shout at me again and take me to McDonalds and throw pie at my brother whilst I get it on video."
There was more silence.
"Can I go now? I want to jump on Paul and try to hug him. I've never actually hugged him before, isn't that weird?"
"Hold on. Madison, you do understand now, right?"
I sighed heavily, rolling my eyes. "Yes, Sam. I understand what imprinting is and that I can't really stop it." After that, I simply turned around and ran over to the group before jumping on Paul. "Ow! You're like a rock! It would be less painful to run into a wall!" I complained, hugging him tightly much to his disappointment. "You have really nice arms. So nice, I might even be jealous of Rachel for getting to touch them whenever she wants."
